Today I went to Hoozuki restaurant. The atmosphere around Shinsaibashi was nice, and I ended up at the corner of a building where Hoozuki is located. I decided to have their chicken meatball hot pot for two people, which looked delicious. The hot pot was perfect for the cold weather, and the chicken meatballs were especially tasty. I also enjoyed some marinated mushrooms and Miyazaki sweet potato shochu. The restaurant had a wide selection of shochu, including over 30 types of sweet potato shochu from Kagoshima and Miyazaki. The tofu and tomato sesame salad and seaweed with grated yam were also delicious. The menu offered various hot pot options, including white miso, curry, and other flavors. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I will definitely visit again when I'm in Shinsaibashi.

A hidden Okinawan restaurant in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. I didn't know there was an Okinawan restaurant in Shinsaibashi! It's a small, cozy place but always full of customers. I tried the sea grapes and they were delicious - so plump and tasty! They also had a horse sashimi platter with 3 different cuts, which was great. The sweet and savory sauce was also delicious! I also had the grilled island fish "gurukun" and tempura of island shallots. The gurukun was a white fish with a light and crispy coating - no fishy taste at all! The island shallots were sweet when cooked, like onions. They were also tasty! The mozuku seaweed was thick and had a great texture. It was so different from the store-bought packs - a whole other level. The chicken meatball hamburger was light and gentle in flavor. The Rafute was tender and not too strong in taste - very easy to eat! The taco rice had a crispy cheese topping that was delicious! For drinks, I had a mango juice mixed with green juice, which was surprisingly easy to drink. Everything was delicious and I had a great time enjoying the Okinawan vibes! Thank you for the meal♪

Today, I went out to eat in Shinsaibashi with my company members. A friend recommended a place called Hoouzuki in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, saying it was delicious. In the winter, you can enjoy hot pot, and in the summer, Okinawan cuisine. Of course, I think it's fine to have hot pot in the summer and Okinawan food in the winter too, haha. Now that I'm hungry, let's eat! We started with edamame as an appetizer and made a toast with beer! We also had a platter of three kinds of horse sashimi, which was very fresh. The sea grapes had a satisfying popping texture, giving a taste of Okinawa. The zaru mozuku is eaten by dipping it in the sauce like somen noodles. It's like a diet food, haha. The Goya champuru was also delicious! The bonito dashi flavor was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. The tempura (island radish, "gurukun" fish) was tasty and a rare find in Osaka. The soki soba was a must-have to finish the meal. The noodles were chewy and satisfying to eat. All the dishes were delicious, and the atmosphere made me feel like I was in Okinawa. I'm really curious about the hot pot they offer in the winter. I'll definitely come back soon. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work, I went to an Okinawan restaurant in Shinsaibashi. I always crave Okinawan food in the summer. The menu had a variety of Okinawan dishes, and the drink menu was extensive, which made me happy. I started with a Minoh Beer for a toast. We ordered sea grapes, Jimami tofu, mozuku seaweed, horse sashimi, Goya champuru, fried Gurukun and Shimararikyo, and Okinawa soba. The sea grapes were deliciously crunchy! The mozuku seaweed had a firm texture typical of Okinawan dishes. The Goya champuru was also very tasty. Gurukun is a white fish from Okinawa, fried to a crispy and moist perfection. We finished with flavorful Okinawa soba in a rich broth. I enjoyed a Sanpin-cha (shochu with jasmine tea) for drinks. It was a delightful experience to savor delicious food and drinks while feeling the Okinawan and summer vibes. I heard that their motsu nabe (tripe hot pot) is popular in winter, so I definitely want to try it when it gets colder. Thank you for the meal!

■ Menu eaten ・ Okinawa direct delivery! Sea grapes ・ Okinawa direct delivery! Shima rakkyo ・ Homemade Rafute ・ A-sa dashimaki (with aosa seaweed) ・ Kumamoto direct delivery! Horse sashimi (fillet, mane) ・ Goya champuru ・ Taco rice ---------------------------------------Located about a 3-minute walk from Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station, this restaurant is known for its Okinawan cuisine and motsunabe hot pot. ☀️I visited Hojukisan, a place where celebrities and entertainers also frequent! Recently, amidst the hot summer days, I suddenly felt like eating Okinawan cuisine, so I decided to visit here today. We started with ordering sea grapes and shima rakkyo, which are must-haves when it comes to Okinawan cuisine. The chewy texture of the sea grapes was enjoyable and delicious! The homemade Rafute was simmered to perfection, with a melt-in-your-mouth taste. It's a perfect match with Orion beer. In addition to Okinawan cuisine, there are also many specialties from Kyushu. We also tried the beautifully lean horse meat sashimi. Moving back to Okinawan cuisine, we had the classic Goya champuru and the finishing touch of taco rice. It was a drinking party where you could feel the Okinawan breeze even in Osaka. It was too hot due to the season, so we didn't order the motsunabe hot pot this time. Once it gets a little cooler, I'll come back for the motsunabe hot pot. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, I visited the Okinawan izakaya "Hoozuki" in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. I heard that they offer not only traditional Okinawan dishes but also creative dishes inspired by local cuisine, so I was excited to visit. The restaurant had a bright atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy with colleagues or friends. The dishes I tried today were sea grapes, Arthur dashimaki, crispy bell peppers, yukke (raw beef), goya champuru (bitter melon stir-fry), and zaru mozuku (vinegared seaweed). Sea grapes were served with ponzu sauce, refreshing and perfect for a hot day. Arthur dashimaki had a fluffy texture with a burst of umami flavors from the mozuku inside. Crispy bell peppers had a great texture and were delicious, perfect for combating summer fatigue. Yukke was a delightful combination of egg and sauce. Goya champuru had a well-seasoned mix of meat and bitter melon, making it easy to enjoy. Zaru mozuku was light and easy to eat, a fitting end to the meal. Overall, all the dishes were delicious and allowed me to savor the flavors of Okinawa. I hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I had been searching for a delicious Okinawan restaurant for years, and I finally found a place where I feel settled - "Hoozuki." The menu at this restaurant includes almost all the representative Okinawan dishes. I tried various items this time, and there was not a single disappointment. Everything was truly amazing. In particular, the "Zaru Mozuku," which is like zaru soba with mozuku seaweed dipped in broth, was excellent. I also highly recommend the grilled Gourami. The flesh was fluffy and fatty, making it incredibly delicious. This fish is famous in Okinawa, and if I were to compare the taste, it's similar to cod. The prices are reasonable, so I really recommend trying it. The yakisoba with bitter melon was a perfect way to end the meal, giving a true taste of Okinawan yakisoba. There were so many other dishes I wanted to try that I couldn't eat them all in one visit, so I definitely want to go back and try more. I will visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I made a reservation and arrived at the restaurant, but I was asked to wait outside because the table was not ready. I had to wait outside in the heat with the chairs still turned over. When I finally got seated, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order to arrive, even though I tried to order quickly considering the items that were sold out. When I asked for a beer refill, I had to wait even longer and overheard the staff rushing to the kitchen to get my order. The food was served in a disorganized manner, with the fried dish arriving first and the hot pot later, making it difficult to eat. The whole experience was slow and the service was confusing, which made me feel bad for bringing my companion along. The taste of the food was average, although I did appreciate the generous amount of condiments served with the horse meat sashimi. The fried dishes had a large portion, making it suitable for sharing among a group of people, but it might be too much for just two people.

I didn't know there was a restaurant like this around here. At first glance, I thought it was a hot pot restaurant, but when I went in, I was surprised to see a wide variety of Okinawan dishes on the menu. From sea grapes to taco rice, Rafute, horse sashimi, and of course hot pot... There were so many options that anyone could find something they liked. Each dish was generous in portion size and the cost performance was great. The atmosphere was very welcoming and fun, and the owner I happened to meet was friendly, polite, and a really nice person. Knowing about a place like this can come in handy when you need it. Thank you very much.

The interior of the restaurant is so much like an Okinawan izakaya that you wouldn't think it's in Shinsaibashi. You can enjoy delicious Okinawan dishes such as fresh horse sashimi, sea grapes, and mozuku. The hoozuki gyoza, named after the restaurant, is served with a citrus sauce for a refreshing taste. Everything was delicious. The drink menu also offers a variety of unique options typical of an Okinawan restaurant. The walls are decorated with autographs of various celebrities, from athletes to musicians and comedians. The atmosphere is great, making it a recommended spot for relaxing and chatting with colleagues.

Good morning, I'm zukasama.maria and I want to indulge as a salaryman✨ I made a reservation at Hozuki in Higashi Shinsaibashi, a restaurant that serves motsunabe and Okinawan cuisine. It was a good decision to make a reservation as it quickly became full and was bustling with people. There were many autographs of celebrities and athletes on the walls. The sound of the kitchen working on orders could be heard. Here are some of the dishes I tried: - Zaru Mozuku: It had a texture similar to somen noodles and was delicious with the broth. - Sea Grapes: The popping texture was enjoyable. - Horse sashimi platter: I tried a new part called "himo" and it was delicious. - Goya Champuru: The bitterness of the bitter melon was balanced well with the egg and tofu. - Shima Rakkyo and Grukun Tempura: Grukun is the official name for a fish in Okinawa, and it was delicious. - Okinawan soba: Light and refreshing, perfect after a drink. - Hozuki Gyoza: A must-try for gyoza lovers, the dipping sauce was unique. - Rafute: Tender and flavorful, it made me crave rice. Everything was delicious and I still want to try more dishes. It was a great dining experience at a cozy restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

Higashishinsaibashi Hozuki is a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy Okinawan cuisine and motsunabe (offal hot pot). They also host regular talk shows with former professional baseball players and celebrities, making it a fantastic place to visit. Here are some of the dishes I ordered:
- Umibudo (sea grapes): A great way to start the meal.
- Zaru mozuku (vinegared seaweed): Delicious and perfect for takeout.
- Basashi (horse sashimi): A must-try with some sake.
- Shima rakkyo (pickled shallots): Surprisingly tasty with snow salt.
- Goya champuru (bitter melon stir-fry): Fluffy eggs and bitter melon make a great combination.
- Jiimami tofu: You can never have enough of this dish!
- Sakura yukke (raw horse meat): Absolutely delicious and a must-try.
- Taco rice: A perfect way to end the meal.
- Mango chu-hai and Goya chu-hai: Fun drinks with ice cream on top.
All the dishes were delicious, and I heard that their motsunabe is also very popular, so I plan to try that next time. The talk shows are organized by @yuusukeshibakiri, and you can make reservations through their account. I highly recommend visiting this place! Thank you for the great meal!

Good evening. This is Shun Mama. One day in April, I went to an Okinawan restaurant in Shinsaibashi with my husband, who loves Okinawa. The restaurant is called Hojuki in Higashi Shinsaibashi. It's conveniently located near Shinsaibashi Station and Nagahoribashi Station.
When you enter the restaurant, you'll feel a warm atmosphere. We enjoyed various dishes, including edamame, sea grapes with a good crunch, mozuku seaweed, three kinds of horse sashimi, mentaiko rolled omelette, goya champuru, mozuku tempura, Okinawa soba, and Blue Seal ice cream with shikuwasa topping.
My husband and I were impressed by the freshness and deliciousness of the dishes. The restaurant had a good number of customers even on a weekday, indicating that it has many repeat customers. We found a great restaurant! Delicious and enjoyable meal. Thank you!

Today's Order:
- Zaru Mozuku (vinegared mozuku seaweed): 600 yen
- Umibudo (sea grapes): 680 yen
- Mozuku Tempura: 580 yen
- Horse sashimi assortment (fillet, mane, liver): 1,950 yen
- Specialty Chicken Nanban: 720 yen
- Goya Champuru: 720 yen
- Motsunabe (tripe hot pot): 1,080 yen (per serving)
- Topping: Wagyu tripe: 400 yen
- Blue Seal Ice Cream: 300 yen each (ube, mango sorbet)
Introducing a long-established izakaya in Higashi-Shinsaibashi known for its motsunabe and Okinawan cuisine. The motsunabe is slightly spicy with plenty of vegetables, and the tripe is tender and easy to eat, with a perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness that is addicting. I ordered Awamori on a whim, but it turned out to be quite strong. Surprisingly, it goes well with the motsunabe. The Okinawan specialties and dishes were all delicious, especially the umibudo with its satisfying texture. Everything was tasty, but the horse sashimi was a standout with its soft, odorless, and easy-to-eat texture. A definite must-order. Thank you for reading until the end.

It's been about 10 years since I last had Okinawan cuisine. I tried it again after a long time. ★ Horse sashimi 4 kinds assortment Most places serve it frozen solid, but this thick horse sashimi was a rare treat. There were different cuts like fillet, mane, rump, and tendon, each with its own distinct characteristics. ★ Zaru mozuku Fresh mozuku dipped in ponzu sauce. The texture was really good and it's good for your health too. ★ Mozuku tempura The batter was a bit overwhelming for the mozuku, too much for my taste. ★ Hoozuki gyoza Meaty gyoza with a special sauce, very delicious. ★ Motsunabe The sweetness and umami of the motsu seeped into the vegetables, delicious. The crunchy vegetables and chewy motsu were irresistible. I was too full to finish. ★ Beef tendon miso curry It had a sour taste, maybe from vinegar? A curious curry with bonito flakes, a Japanese-style curry. Unfortunately, they were sold out of jelly and sherbet for dessert.

Here is a cozy izakaya in Shinsaibashi that has been loved for over 20 years. The menu features over 70 carefully selected shochu and awamori, as well as Kyushu cuisine that pairs perfectly with drinks. Their specialty motsunabe allows you to choose from 4 main ingredients and 7 different broths, offering a total of 28 variations. Some recommended dishes include Okinawa zaru mozuku, horse sashimi assortment, fu chanpuru, mentaiko dashimaki, and the famous motsunabe. Finish off with Blue Seal ice cream from the American-born, Okinawa-raised ice cream shop founded in 1948. Enjoyed every bite!

Cold days call for hot pot! Especially motsu nabe seems to be a popular choice during winter. I went to Motsu Nabe x Shinsaibashi with my friends at Hoozuki in Higashi Shinsaibashi. The nearest stations are Shinsaibashi and Nagahoribashi, about halfway between them. The restaurant offers motsu nabe and Okinawan cuisine, and they also have all-you-can-drink courses. We ordered a la carte items like plum wine soda, edamame, Kumamoto horse sashimi platter, beef tendon with ponzu sauce, motsu nabe, and more. The Kumamoto horse sashimi was delicious, especially when combined with different cuts like lean meat and tenderloin. The beef tendon with ponzu sauce was tender and flavorful. The motsu nabe had five different soup options, and we chose the light water-based soup. The motsu was tender and delicious, and we enjoyed it till the end. Although we were full, we regretted not trying the Blue Seal ice cream for dessert. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and we left feeling warm and content.

[January 2023 Visit] It's been cold these days. I wanted to eat delicious hot pot, so I visited with my friends. At Hoouzuki Okinawan Cuisine in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, you can enjoy motsu nabe (tripe hot pot). It's conveniently close to Shinsaibashi Station, which is great on cold days. The drink menu is also extensive. Even for someone like me who can't drink beer, there was a lineup of exciting options.
- Yawatadokazu Apple Shochu Highball
- Edamame with large and delicious beans
There were so many menu options that I had a hard time deciding what to order.
- Horse sashimi (various cuts) from Kumamoto, fresh and delicious. I love horse sashimi, and it was delicious.
- Beef tendon with ponzu sauce, spicy and delicious. It's refreshing with ponzu sauce. So tasty.
- Mozuku seaweed tempura, one of my favorite dishes.
- Mentaiko (spicy cod roe) rolled omelette, a good balance of mentaiko and rolled omelette.
- Motsu nabe was the main dish today. There were various flavors, but I chose white miso broth. The tripe was chewy and delicious. It was healthy with cabbage, bean sprouts, garlic chives, mushrooms, and tofu.
- For dessert, there were various options, but I was too full to try. Besides motsu nabe, there were also chicken hot pot, pork hot pot, and water dumpling hot pot.
- Aojiru (green juice) mango for a healthy second drink. Vegetables are important.
I wanted to try more Okinawan cuisine, but unfortunately, I was too full. Both the motsu nabe and other dishes were delicious, so I plan to visit again!

Visited in November 2022 and posted on Tabelog with a rating of 3.37 (based on 71 reviews). I finally got to visit the popular "Higashi Shinsaibashi Hoouzuki" in Higashi Shinsaibashi, which I had been wanting to try for a while. It's a pretty old establishment, almost like a long-standing traditional shop. The course with all-you-can-drink options ranges from 4,400 yen including tax, and they offer a wide variety of courses, so it's definitely worth checking out! As the weather has been getting colder recently, I focused on their specialty "motsunabe" along with Okinawan dishes, horse sashimi, and other a la carte items.
- Draft beer: 550 yen
- Orion beer: 550 yen
- Zaru mozuku: 600 yen
- Motsunabe (starting from 1,080 yen per person)
- Horse sashimi (4 kinds): 2950 yen
- Mozuku tempura: 580 yen
- Grilled Rafute: 750 yen

Started with a toast with draft beer. The zaru mozuku was surprisingly delicious when dipped in the broth. The motsunabe had a variety of ingredients in a soy sauce-based broth, and the chewy motsu was irresistible. The horse sashimi was fresh and delightful. The mozuku tempura and grilled Rafute were also tasty. The Goya champuru had a mild bitterness making it easy to eat. The juicy fried young chicken was crispy and juicy. The smoked assorted platter was a great accompaniment to beer. The beef tendon miso curry rice had a rich flavor with tender beef tendons. The Blue Seal ice cream was a satisfying dessert choice.
The cozy atmosphere was nice, and overall, the dishes were delicious, especially the motsunabe. Thank you for the meal.

This was my first visit to Hoozuki-san on the second floor of the building, and I must say the entrance has a nice charm to it.
- Zaru Mozuku (seaweed): ¥600
Dipped in the sauce, it has a refreshing ocean flavor and a smooth texture, very delicious!
- Kumamoto Direct Delivery Horse Sashimi Trio: ¥2,145
From lean meat to mane, the first time trying the fatty Himo was a different kind of soft and juicy experience.
- Mentaiko Dashi Roll: ¥750
A warm and comforting taste in this dashi roll.
- Specialty Hoozuki-style Wagyu Offal Hot Pot: Top-grade White Miso Offal Hot Pot: ¥1,080 per person
The soup has a rich umami flavor without being too salty, making you want to drink lots of the broth! Despite the affordable price of ¥1,080 per person, the offal is tender and not too strong in smell.
- Blue Seal Ice Cream Shikuwasa: ¥300
All the dishes have a warm and inviting flavor profile that I really enjoy! The staff were attentive, noticing when our drinks were running low and acting promptly. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
