I used to often eat Kitsune Udon at the main store in Imai. This time, I tried it at the Hankyu Umeda store! The price has gone up. I think it used to be around 600 yen, but this time it was 880 yen. The broth is really delicious! I drank it all up. The sweetened fried tofu goes well with the broth and is super tasty. The udon is Osaka style, a bit soft, but it goes well with this broth! Hankyu has a luxurious feel to it as a udon restaurant. I want to go again.

I heard that this place is famous for kitsune udon, so I decided to try it. The udon noodles were a bit firm, which I noticed. Lately, I've been more into the soft and fluffy udon noodles that have been popular in Kyoto for a long time. The fried tofu was not too sweet and tasted delicious. I wasn't feeling well that day, but I managed to finish the meal because the broth was also delicious. Udon is really great after all. Next time, I want to try the chopped kitsune udon and oyakodon.

The meat is sweet and flavorful, and the udon noodles are thick and delicious. The cold noodles may have some visible oil floating on top, but it didn't bother me personally. The service was disappointing as it felt a bit cold, especially coming from someone who trusts Hankyu too much. The location is convenient, so as a Hankyu user, I hope they can improve a bit more. If I had no other choice, I would go back for the convenience.

The sense of security of having a long-established restaurant from Dotonbori in the department store restaurant area. When I visited in the evening, I was served promptly without having to wait. I ordered both cold and hot noodles, and they were different in noodle thickness and broth, which was interesting. The cold noodles had wasabi in it, and I thought it was like the Kanto version of soba or udon with its dipping sauce and toppings.

The branch of Dotombori Imai located in Hankyu Umeda Department Store. I chose the set of parent-child rice bowl and small fox udon. The interior of the store, being in a department store, felt a bit constrained, but the service was impressive just like the main branch. I like the soup and sweet fox udon here. In Osaka, udon is often boiled until the core is soft, but here the texture is retained to some extent. The parent-child rice bowl has plenty of egg, and it's nice to have a raw egg yolk on top. You can crush it and enjoy the desired richness. It must be tough with the current high cost...

This is a restaurant located in the Hankyu Umeda store. Since it was a holiday, I had to wait a bit. I revisited because I had delicious udon at the main store before. This time, I had the kitsune udon and mixed rice set. It was very delicious! The broth on its own is light and gentle, but when the sweetened fried tofu dissolves into it little by little, it transforms into a very delicious sweetness. Adding shichimi spice gives it a nice kick, making it even more enjoyable. I almost finished the soup because the combination of the fried tofu and broth was so tasty. The atmosphere inside the store is not as fancy as the main store, but I didn't really notice a difference in taste.

I visited this udon restaurant while on my way to the department store in Umeda. Unlike the udon shops inside Shin-Osaka station or Shinsaibashi Daimaru basement, this shop does not offer individual orders. The udon noodles have a soft texture with a nice chewiness, and the broth is delicious. The fried tofu in the kitsune udon, along with the shichimi togarashi with sansho pepper, enhance the flavors of the dish.

Visited the event at Hankyu Umeda with my family for Disney's 100th anniversary. The kids were getting hungry, so we decided to have an early dinner. The udon at Imai in Dotonbori is delicious, isn't it? I wonder if they have fewer menu options at the main store. I love the dashi here. "Imai's dashi is made with natural Hokkaido kelp and bonito flakes from Kyushu and dried cuttlefish. It has a rich flavor while being subtly seasoned." It tastes even better when you're tired. And they won the gold prize at the National Donburi Grand Prix. I didn't know there was such a competition. - My son loved the Bokkake Udon. - My husband tried the Oyakodon and Kogitsune, both gold prize winners. The Oyakodon was incredibly delicious. The dashi and egg go so well together. - My daughter couldn't eat fried tofu until recently, but she loved it here. The fried tofu is exceptional. - I had the Duck Kachin Udon. The dashi was excellent, and the mochi was just the right size. Delicious. The udon noodles have a gentle chewiness. The table layout is child-friendly. Both the kids and my husband were thrilled. We will definitely come back again.

The broth is delicious, so I had the beef shigure udon at the long-established udon restaurant Imai in Dotonbori, Osaka. It's a bit pricey, but so tasty that I couldn't resist coming here. The burdock and beef are sweet and savory, matching perfectly with the broth. The green onions are crunchy and fresh.

I waited for about 25 minutes around 12:00 pm on a regular day. I had a set of oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) and small udon. For the udon, you can choose from kitsune (fried tofu), chopped green onion, or kelp. The udon was a bit firm, but the broth was very delicious. The oyakodon was quite soupy and slightly on the salty side, so it's better to eat the udon first to fully enjoy its flavor.

Solo Travel Memo Continued⁡⁡I stayed in Kobe Sannomiya, but somehow ended up in Osaka Umeda‼️ It's cold. I enjoyed a street live performance and barely made it to the closing time of a department store restaurant. In Osaka, I had to try the udon I've been hearing about, Imai-san‼️ They said they could only serve kitsune udon, and when I said I came here to eat that, they laughed (lol)⁡⁡In about 5 minutes, the food was served‼️⁡The elegant broth with two pieces of fried tofu on top! The thickness of the tofu is different from Kanto-style fried tofu. I took a sip of the soup! Full of umami. If you like soy sauce-based broth, you might find it lacking, but it's delicious.⁡⁡I also like the taste of Kagawa's Sanuki broth, but I like this taste too. When you soak the thick fried tofu in the broth and eat it, it surprisingly tastes light. Kanto-style fried tofu is seasoned with sweet soy sauce, so it has a strong flavor, but this one is tasty.⁡⁡The noodles, not as firm as Sanuki, but chewy and delicious. I finished it in no time. We used it with our family during the day. We ordered ① Tempura Zaru Udon ② Oyakodon ③ Kizami An (Udon) ④ Kids' Meal. We didn't specifically want tempura, but the only cold udon options were this and "Seasonal Vegetable Tempura." The Oyakodon was delicious. The Kizami An was a bit weak in flavor. The udon was better with the Zaru Udon being thinner and firmer. When we go to Umeda, we always struggle with finding a meal for our daughter, but this place seems pretty good as the food is decently tasty.

My sister and I went to Fukushima next to Umeda. Although I checked out various things about Fukushima, my sister was like, "I don't care about that~ I just like delicious food, anywhere is fine." So we decided to go to Umeda, to her favorite Hankyu Department Store. We arrived at the food court, which is always crowded. We chose a shop with a short line and ordered our food. Udon and soba are quickly eaten and you can leave, so even if there is a line, you can get in quickly *\(^o^)/*. I've been wanting to eat a donburi ever since I saw my sister eating a oyakodon recently. I rarely eat donburi outside, but I ordered a parent and child donburi set with a small udon. My sister got the kitsune udon. It would have been better the other way around, but the small donburi and udon were nothing special, but still delicious. I thought the main store in Dotonbori was tastier though. There may be some differences in taste depending on the branch, even if they have the same management.

The taste was gentle and delicious. However, I got a tongue burn from the hot sauce and had a miserable few days. Haha, even if it's delicious, it's important to let it cool down slowly before eating. Lesson learned. The restaurant was bright and clean. There was a bit of a scary-looking staff member, which surprised me. Haha. But the other staff members were nice, so I would like to go back when I want to eat udon again! They also sold udon for takeout next to the register.

I was torn between "Yabusoba" and Imai which were diagonally in front of me, but I decided to go for Houdon that day. I ordered the Four Seasons Bento for 2200 yen. For the small udon, you can choose from three types: oboro, kizami, and kitsune. I chose kizami. The broth was delicious as expected. In addition, there was a variety of other dishes such as simmered vegetables, tempura, rolled omelette, grilled fish, all with generous portions. There was also pickled vegetables on rice.

I had missed three restaurants that opened in October and November, but I only noticed them recently. It had been a while since I visited Imai, so I was torn between Kitsune + Oyako-don, but this time I chose this. I had visited the main store and the one in Shin-Osaka (inside the Shinkansen ticket gate) a while ago. Four Seasons Bento Kitsune Udon.

At night when it gets cold, I suddenly crave something warm to eat. After working in Ashiya and returning to Osaka, I took a breather at Hankyu's restaurant floor and stumbled upon "Imai"! It seems like Imai recently opened up, and of course, I had to try their kitsune udon! The sweetly simmered fried tofu was irresistible. The softness of the Naniwa udon is growing on me more and more each year. Of course, that's not all (laughs). I also ordered a set with a tamago don. Finally, it arrived - the tamago don with a raw egg! I was a bit surprised, but it surprisingly went well. The restaurant is spacious with counter and table seating available. They also had a special menu to commemorate their opening - the Tamatebako bento.
