I always go to Yayoiken for their grilled mackerel set meal which is available from 7am. The skin is crispy and the fat is delicious. The grilled mackerel here seems to be larger in size than the usual places I go to. It was delicious!

For dinner during my business trip in Osaka, I went to Yayoi Ken again, just like yesterday. I was pleased to see that the restaurant was still open even though it was before 10 pm. I ordered a draft beer, highball, and the main dish of ginger pork set meal. While waiting for my beer, they served me the highball and a set meal of grilled hokke fish. I enjoyed the large grilled hokke fish with my highball and rice, and before I knew it, everything was finished. Thank you for the meal.

For my business trip dinner in Osaka, I went to Yayoiken which was still open even after 10pm. I purchased a meal ticket for a draft beer, highball, fried potato with sausage, and the main dish of ginger pork set. After finishing work, I enjoyed a draft beer with pickles while waiting. Then I had the highball, fried potato with sausage, and ginger pork served. The portions were quite generous. Since the closing time was 11pm, I quickly finished the potato and sausage with a highball, then ate the ginger pork and rice in one go. It was a satisfying meal.

For dinner during my business trip in Osaka, I went to Koyashikien in Uchihommachi. It's a convenient restaurant near my accommodation. This time, I decided to order the chicken sukiyaki set with fried horse mackerel that was released in January. The set meal that was served had a good amount of food. The chicken was tender, the meatballs soaked up the broth well and were delicious, and they paired perfectly with the ponzu sauce. The fried horse mackerel was also tasty. Thank you for the meal.

When I sat down and handed over my meal ticket, the Miso-Stewed Mackerel set was served. The mackerel stewed in miso had a soft sweet taste, which was delicious and made the rice go down smoothly. I wish the mackerel was a bit bigger, but I ended up getting a second helping of rice and finished it all. Thank you for the meal.

I used a coupon to purchase the Shiga Prefecture's famous ginger pork for 460 yen from the ticket machine. I sat at a table and noticed that even though it was close to closing time, the restaurant was almost full of people looking for a late-night meal. People who came in after 8:30 PM were mainly for takeout, but there were quite a few of them. Finally, my ginger pork set meal arrived. The portion was generous for the price of 490 yen, and it came with salad and mayonnaise. The ginger pork went really well with the rice, and I finished it in no time. I even got a small refill. I tried to go to the nearby McDonald's but there was a long line of office workers. So I decided to go to Yayoiken which is just a 2-minute walk away for breakfast instead! The atmosphere inside is calm and cozy, probably because it's not near the station. They accept cashless payment and you can use Suica! Great, right? I was having trouble deciding on the menu and ended up going back to the top page twice. I chose the cheapest option, the Natto set with raw egg for 390 yen. They brought it to me in about 1 minute after sitting down. Even just the pickles on the table were delicious enough to have seconds of rice. And you can have seconds of rice by yourself, with a machine for operation! Amazing! You can also choose the amount of rice you want. Yayoiken continues to evolve. It was a great meal!

I visited at 9:30 in the morning. Instead of the morning set meal, I had saury grilled with salt and meat tofu set meal x1. The saury was very thin, the thinnest I've ever seen. I also had one serving of squid tempura, which was free with a coupon from the Yayoi Ken app. Thank you!

I often post reviews on Tabelog about new restaurants I visit, so I don't write about places I frequent often. Yayoiken is one of those places. However, I decided to write about it this time because they are currently offering a Chicken Nanban Set and a Miso Katsu Nabe Set for a discounted price of 490 yen, which is quite a deal. Having lived in Nagoya before, I have ordered the Miso Katsu Nabe Set many times, but today I tried the Chicken Nanban Set for the first time. The chicken was tender and delicious, and the crispy batter was excellent. The tartar sauce was also tasty and went perfectly with the chicken.

I visited Yaoyokken this morning at 09:20. There was 1 person before me and after me there were 3 people in a group and then another person. I had a traditional Japanese breakfast with natto. I used a coupon from Yaoyokken's application to change the clam soup for free. Thank you.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Tanamachi Yonchome Station on the Tanamachi Line. Take exit 3 and head west on Honmachi Street. I visited a familiar restaurant, Yayoiken. I ordered the Salt-grilled Mackerel set meal for ¥670, with a side of barley rice for an additional ¥30, and added a mini fried chicken for ¥180. I used a coupon to change the miso soup to pork soup for ¥180, making the total ¥880. I've been enjoying the salt-grilled mackerel here lately, as you can eat the skin and everything except the bones. The fried chicken, although only 2 pieces, is crispy and delicious. The pork soup is hearty with pork, burdock, carrots, tofu, and more. It's a satisfying meal.

Yayoi-ken is a restaurant I often visit, and after the Nakanoshima and Tenroku branches, I usually go to the Nihonbashi branch. I always wonder why it's called the "Uchi" branch when it's in Honmachi. I ordered the steak set meal. I tend to order healthy menu options at Yayoi-ken, and although I didn't have high expectations due to the reasonable price of over 1000 yen, it was still quite delicious.

I had the Silver Salmon Breakfast (530 yen). It included salmon, natto, raw egg, seasoned seaweed, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The rice at Yayoi Ken is shiny, smooth, and delicious. For those who need more, there is a free refill service. It's thoughtful. They also provide warm tea.
