I also visited the Tokachi Beer Hall, a place I wanted to try. Since I couldn't make a reservation, I went directly around 6:30 pm and had to wait for one group ahead of me. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were seated. We ordered "Lamb with bones", "Raw Lamb Jingisukan Shoulder", "Raw Lamb Jingisukan Shoulder", "Hokkaido Lamb Meat Assortment", "Ezo Deer Jingisukan", and "Asahikawa Bamboo Pork Sausage Assortment", among other things. We enjoyed the meat with rock salt to savor the ingredients. Among all the lamb I've had in Hokkaido, it was average. However, the "Ezo Deer Jingisukan" was delicious without any gamey taste, so we ordered more. The "Ezo Deer Meat Croquette" I had at Asahiyama Zoo was also delicious, so Ezo deer cuisine has become a new gourmet dish for me. We enjoyed delicious beer at the brewery. Among them, I particularly liked the "Tokachi Pilsner" and "Sprout". My companion enjoyed the "Furano Barley" beer. The "Asahikawa Sake Tasting Set" was also enjoyable, and the alcohol was good. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited as a lunch destination while traveling. I ordered a lunch set first, and then added more meat to it. I was able to enjoy authentic Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) without any unpleasant smell, so it was really delicious. They also had a wide variety of beers available.

Day drinking is the best after all. I felt like drinking craft beer, so I came here (laughs). Of course, I also ordered Genghis Khan. I was worried it might not be enough, but my stomach is full now. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After climbing Mt. Asahi, our group was tired so we decided to eat at this restaurant near the hotel. They offered raw Genghis Khan lamb, which seemed promising. We ordered a salad with four types of Hokkaido lamb, Ezo deer, pickles, and local Tokachi beer served in both a mug and a glass. The food was a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality of the local ingredients. The Ezo deer was marinated, and you could taste the difference in flavors. And the highlight was the locally brewed beer made with water from Mt. Daisetsu! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

We visited this restaurant to enjoy some local specialty dishes as part of our relatives' hospitality during our weekend visit. It was my first time trying Genghis Khan, a dish made with raw lamb and Ezo venison. Both were delicious without any gamey taste, especially the lamb which was incredibly juicy. We were impressed by how tasty lamb can be! We preferred the raw version over the marinated one. We also enjoyed a beer tasting set, which was fun to try different kinds. They also offer various other dishes like ramen and curry, so even if you're not a fan of Genghis Khan, there are other options to enjoy.

It was a shame that I couldn't drink local beer because I had to drive a rental car. I'm not a fan of Genghis Khan, so I ordered yuzu miso grilled dish. It was delicious! I finished it in no time. The rice was also tasty. I would like to try local beer next time.

On the 4th night of our trip to Hokkaido, we visited a restaurant for the first time with two people after leaving a famous izakaya. It was located in a renovated brick warehouse group called Kura Iyum in the east side of JR Asahikawa Station, where they serve Genghis Khan and craft beer. It was quite a quiet area and the lights of the restaurant were gentle, so I thought it might be a day off. Upon entering, we were asked if we wanted to sit at the Genghis Khan table or the restaurant table, and we chose the restaurant table. We started with a craft beer, first trying a set of 5 limited edition beers recommended by the waitress for 2000 yen, and then I chose the English Pale Ale, Kera Pirka, for 660 yen. The set of 5 beers included Tokachi Barley, which was sold out, so we tried Ooyuki Pilsner, Kera Pirka, Kurodake, Nemuro Gold Club, and Meika. Each beer had its own distinct taste and was delicious. The Kera Pirka I drank had a nice aroma and a gentle bitterness. This was the second craft beer restaurant we visited in Hokkaido, and like the first one, this place also didn't seem to pay much attention to the foam. While it's understandable to compare different beers, I wish they would serve each beer with good foam. For food, we had the homemade potato chips made with Hokkaido North Akari for 350 yen. They seemed a bit overcooked and I couldn't finish them all.

I went to the Taigetsu Beer Hall to eat their Genghis Khan dish. The restaurant is located in an old brewery where they used to make local beer. The Genghis Khan dish made with fresh meat was not bad, but I still think beef tastes better. I enjoyed trying different sets of local beers. Also, the octopus carpaccio was delicious.

I finally got to visit the Daichiji Beer Hall, which I've always wanted to go to. I tried a tasting set of 5 local beers and enjoyed my favorite in a pint glass. The Genghis Khan dish was delicious without any unpleasant smell. The beer called "Moege" was fruity and paired well with the Genghis Khan. I will definitely go back!

A modern beer brewery near Asahikawa Station with an adjacent beer hall. A wonderful spot where you can enjoy rare Asahikawa-produced Jingisukan (grilled lamb) and extremely high-quality craft beer. While Daikokuya is famous for Jingisukan in Asahikawa, it can get very crowded, so we went to this place near Asahikawa Station instead. The beer hall is connected to a modern beer brewery, and you can also try the precious "Asahikawa-produced raw lamb." I ordered three representative craft beers: Furano Barley, Taisetsu Pilsner, and Kerapilka. The freshly brewed craft beer from the brewery was delicious. Just like the beer I drank in Germany, it was smooth without any off-flavors, and I could drink as many glasses as I wanted. The delicious beer and the very rare Asahikawa-produced raw lamb were a perfect match. The lamb had no gamey taste, only the rich flavor of the meat remained. The sauce was light, which complemented the delicious raw lamb perfectly. The beer was so good that I couldn't stop drinking. The seasoned Jingisukan was also delicious, and I tried deer Jingisukan for the first time. The preparation was done well, and it had no gaminess at all. The deep and rich flavor was delightful. For the finale, I had Jingisukan with Hokkaido rice and miso soup. The rice went so well with the seasoned Jingisukan. I definitely want to come back to this beer hall!

I ordered a set menu where they cook the lamb on a hot plate from the beginning at Genghis Khan. I enjoyed a luxurious meal with salad and miso soup in the afternoon. The well-seasoned Genghis Khan lamb teppanyaki set was delicious. Price: ¥2000.

When researching for a place to stay for the second night in Asahikawa during my Hokkaido trip, I came across this restaurant. I didn't have much of an image of Asahikawa for Genghis Khan (grilled mutton) but it seems like you can eat delicious Genghis Khan here. The restaurant is spacious with two floors. There are various types of beer available, which is great. The Genghis Khan was indeed fresh with no unpleasant smell. I heard that for locals, if there's no smell, it's not Genghis Khan, but as a Genghis Khan amateur, it was incredibly delicious for me. I found myself getting full from just beer, so I ordered a bottle of wine. The only disappointing thing about this wine was that when I looked closely at the bottle I received, I noticed that the cork had been pushed inside. Well, it didn't affect the taste, but it would have been nice to hear a simple "sorry" about it, especially since it was so delicious.

Reservation required restaurant. The Genghis Khan is delicious without any problems. The homemade potato chips at Kita Akari are so delicious that you can eat them endlessly. When I ordered a bottle of red wine, a cork was inside and came out. If it had gotten inside, I wish they had said a word.

Soy Sauce Ramen Set ¥1100
I thought it would be a Genghis Khan main dish, but the lunch menu is also abundant, with daily lunch specials available. I ordered the Soy Sauce Ramen Set! It has a rich soy sauce flavor with a tonkotsu base. It goes well with the set's zangi and rice.

"I had guests from Osaka, so I decided to take them to this place for some Genghis Khan. They mentioned that they haven't had Genghis Khan since their college days, so I suggested we start with some raw lamb. When they tried it, they exclaimed in their Kansai dialect, 'This is delicious!' and followed up with, 'I might actually like this.' Victory! Regardless of where your taste buds are from, good food is good food. We then proceeded to order various Hokkaido dishes one after another. We thoroughly enjoyed the divine combination of Genghis Khan and beer, and they went back to Osaka satisfied. Thank you, craft beer place."

In November 2022, I visited a restaurant to have a beer in the heavy snow. As soon as I entered, I was asked if I wanted to eat Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). I decided to have Genghis Khan. I was seated at a table set with a Genghis Khan hot pot set and looked at the menu. The prices were higher than I expected, probably due to the high cost of lamb. I ordered the most popular beer in a large glass, along with raw lamb (shoulder cut) and grilled vegetables. The waiter explained how to grill the meat very politely, making sure it doesn't burn. I'm from Hokkaido, so I already knew how to do it, but I listened carefully. I tried three types of lamb (raw, frozen lamb roll, and marinated Genghis Khan) and three types of beer, and they were all delicious with no complaints. It was a good experience to enjoy Genghis Khan in such a place after a long time. I had a great time dining alone, and I think it was worth it. The total cost was around 5000 yen, which is reasonable considering the prices of each dish and the fact that it's a local beer place. Overall, my first solo Genghis Khan experience was great, so I might try solo yakiniku (grilled meat) next time. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, when I stayed in Asahikawa as part of the "Hokkaido LOVE Discount," I went to a brewery because I love craft beer. The entrance was a bit hidden and dark, so I wasn't sure if it was open. As I peeked inside, the owner opened the door from the other side, surprising me. I was welcomed in and asked if I wanted to try their Genghis Khan (grilled mutton dish). Depending on whether you wanted a table with a grill or not, they would seat you accordingly. Since I had just come from a hot spring, I opted to sit at a table without a grill. We ordered a "5-beer tasting set" (1980 yen) for me and a "Coca-Cola" (418 yen) for my companion. For snacks, we chose "Homemade Potato Chips with Hokkaido-grown Hokkai Red Potatoes" (350 yen) and "4 pieces of Shiretoko Chicken Zangi" (760 yen). The Zangi was crispy and delicious, while the potato chips had a nice potato flavor even though they were a bit cold. As for the beers, I won't go into detail, but they were all delicious. I particularly enjoyed the "Moege" white beer, which had a fruity aroma. Overall, I had a great experience and would love to visit the "Taisetsu Craft Beer Hall" again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today I came for lunch so I didn't have beer this time. I had the Hokkaido yuzu miso stir-fry for 950 yen. It's a stir-fry dish with pork and onions cooked in a miso sauce with added yuzu. It's a dish that goes well with rice. The portion size may be a bit small, it would be more satisfying if there was a little more. The miso soup and salad were really average, nothing special to comment on. The cost performance is really just average for the price. There's not much of a sense of getting a good deal. It seems like the food here is more geared towards tourists. I guess when you come here, beer is really the main focus. Thank you for the meal!

"I had the 'Yuzu Miso Grilled Set' for 950 yen, which is a local specialty in Hokkaido. The set includes grilled pork and onions with yuzu miso sauce, served with salad. The yuzu miso sauce was delicious and went well with everything. My friend had the 'B Set - Hamburger & Teriyaki Chicken with Salad' for 1,200 yen, and the dishes were tasty. The soy sauce ramen for 750 yen was mellow, and the fried potatoes for 430 yen were crispy and had a hint of butter. The place opened at 11:30 am, and we arrived around 40 minutes later. We were seated promptly, and the service was quick. The restaurant offers a variety of menu options, including Genghis Khan lamb barbecue. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I recommend arriving early as it gets crowded after 12 pm."

The Super Hotel in front of Asahikawa was not crowded as it was quite late, so we were able to enter without any trouble. We ordered the Ooyuki Pilsner, Furano Barley, Kera-Pilka, Genghis Khan, tofu salad, and yakisoba. The beer was surprisingly delicious, perhaps due to the hot summer weather. Each of the three beers had a distinct character, making it enjoyable to compare them.
