Arrived at 11:42 and had to wait for 14 groups ahead of us. Got seated at 12:30. Ordered the colorful bowl and 3-item bowl. With a coupon from Tabelog, we received 2 extra slices of salmon sashimi as a service for 2 people. It was satisfying to be able to try a variety of dishes little by little. It was delicious! Note that only cash and PayPay are accepted for payment, no cards.

The local seafood bowl is delicious, but the seafood in Otaru is on a different level of freshness! Especially the salmon roe is delicious... The seafood on top of the bowl is amazing, and the prices are reasonable compared to Honshu! The half-sized hokke we ordered together is also surprisingly large, Otaru is the best!

Around 9 o'clock in the morning, I visited Shimahotei alone for a set meal priced at 1500 yen (tax included) in Otaru's front door, inside the Sankaku Market. This was my first meal at this location. I used to pass through here a lot during my student days, but I can't remember if there was a dining hall back then. I had checked out the following three places on Tabelog beforehand: Market Shokudo Ajidokoro Takeda, Hokkaidonburiya Takinami Shokudo, and this Sankakutei. The first two already had long lines, so I was lucky to slip into Sankakutei. Although I was tempted by the luxurious-looking seafood bowl, this time I chose the Shimahotei set meal. I had forgotten to use the Tabelog coupon, but the menu had a "Rakuten fan limited" note indicating a complimentary salmon sashimi service, which was provided without me having to ask. The thick-fleshed Shimahokke was delicious, and the crunchy texture of the salted fish roe was excellent. After finishing my meal and stepping outside the restaurant, I noticed that a line had formed there as well. I'm glad I didn't miss the timing.

I had the Sanakaku Don. It was a bit pricey at 3300 yen, but I think it was a fair price for the quality of the dish. The sea urchin in particular was excellent, with no fishy smell and a rich flavor. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm. I recommend everyone to try Sanakaku Don at Sankakutei. Yuckkkkkkkk!!!!

On the second day of my trip to Hokkaido, I had lunch at Sankaku Market in Otaru. The market was very crowded and every shop had a wait time of over an hour. However, I was lucky to find a spot at this restaurant and tried their two-color rice bowl with sea urchin and salmon roe. It was a bit pricey at 3300 yen for a half portion, but the taste was absolutely worth it! Just be aware that during the lunch hours in the travel season, it gets extremely busy, so plan accordingly!

Sankakutei's Student Discount Donburi (1500 yen) is a great deal that anyone can enjoy. It's amazing to enjoy a student discount donburi as I approach my 60th birthday. Thank you for the delicious meal! I am satisfied. 080-5724-9212, 3-10-16 Inaho, Otaru, Hokkaido.

I had a colorful bowl for 2,500 yen. The bowl was small but packed with a variety of toppings and tasted delicious. Since it's a shop inside the market, I believe the freshness is guaranteed. They also offer a 3-color bowl where you can choose your favorite 3 toppings, and many customers were ordering that. I enjoyed it very much.

This is a shop located in the Sankaku Market right by Otaru Station. I was planning to visit the Nikka Whisky Distillery in Yoichi, so I decided to head from Sapporo to Yoichi, but yesterday I drank a lot of sake and woke up early, so I thought I might as well have a seafood bowl for breakfast. Since I can visit Nijo Market even when I'm in Sapporo, I decided to have breakfast in Otaru this time. I took a bus to Otaru and heard that there is a place called Sankaku Market near Otaru Station, where there are fish stores and eateries. There are famous eateries like Takinami Shokudo, but I heard that this place has good value for money, so I decided to visit this shop. When I entered the shop, perhaps due to taking a day off and it being a weekday morning, it was not crowded. There were about three people in the hall, so I think they are busy even on weekdays. I was tempted by the Gakudaka Don, a cheap bowl that can be ordered at any age, but in the end, with the Hokkaido magic, I decided to go for the Assorted Three Kinds of Don (2,400 yen). I chose tuna, salmon roe, and scallops. This time, since I didn't have a rental car, I also ordered a Sapporo Black Label beer. The salmon roe was not fishy, with no saltiness, and the scallops had a fresh, sticky texture unique to scallops with a good flavor. Ending it with beer, the total came to 3,000 yen, which doesn't feel too expensive, is this the Hokkaido magic? When you order a beer, you get a snack that looks like shredded cabbage, but it is made of octopus and fish paste, which was a perfect accompaniment to the beer.

When it comes to Otaru, it's all about seafood!! There were various seafood bowl restaurants at the Sankaku Market, but they were all so crowded... I waited for about 40 minutes... The menu was extensive, and I struggled to decide while waiting. In the end, I chose a bowl where you can pick from 3 options. I added sea urchin for an extra 500 yen... It was so satisfying. It was worth the wait, and it was really delicious. Thank you for the meal!

During my trip to Hokkaido, I wanted to eat seafood, so I went to Sankaku Market and had a seafood bowl. It was quite crowded, and I waited for about 1.5 hours. I ordered the recommended Colorful Bowl, and a luxurious and voluminous seafood bowl came out. The Colorful Bowl allowed me to taste a variety of seafood at once, and it was delicious.

As soon as I entered Otaru, it started snowing, so the Sankaku Market was crowded even at 10:30. I was indecisive about what to get, but I found this shop with a variety of options at reasonable prices. The vinegar rice suited me well and was delicious and easy to eat. As for the beer... I ordered it on impulse, haha.

I wake up early on my days off, like an old person haha. I got ready and headed to Sapporo Station. I decided to visit Otaru before the freezing cold season arrives. I arrived at Otaru Station around 8 am and headed to the Sankaku Market. I chose to have breakfast at Sankaku Tei, where I ordered the "Three-color Small Bowl Donburi" for 1,200 yen. It consisted of ikura, crab, and salmon on rice. The portion of rice was a bit too much for the toppings, and the crab and salmon were not very flavorful. Overall, if you want a reasonably priced seafood meal, I recommend trying the "Student Discount Donburi" with 8 different toppings for 1,200 yen.

The button shrimp is a must-order for its great value! It was the most delicious shrimp I've ever had. It was priced at 3,000 yen, which is cheaper than other places that usually charge 4,000 yen. Truly Hokkaido quality. I arrived around 1:30 pm and waited in line for about 30-50 minutes. It's recommended to go right when they open to avoid the risk of the fish being sold out while you're eating.

Located right near Otaru Station in the Sankaku Market, this restaurant is one of the more affordable options among the many shops in the area. The Sankaku Donburi I ordered was filled with fatty salmon, sea urchin, salmon roe, and crab, and it was quite a generous portion. The salmon, in particular, was delicious. The grilled scallops were only 400 yen, a great deal, but they were on the smaller side and a bit chewy, which was a bit disappointing. The staff, all female, provided excellent service and made for a pleasant dining experience.

During my trip to Hokkaido in August, I stopped by the Sankaku Market in Otaru. While the option to have crab and sea urchin sent home via express delivery from the seafood market is appealing, the customizable donburi where you can choose your favorite ingredients is the real highlight. I chose crab, sea urchin, salmon, and ikura. Sea urchin harvested in the nearby Shakotan (bafun uni, murasaki uni) is in season from June to August. The sea urchin that grew in the Shakotan Blue at Kamui Cape on the Shakotan Peninsula (pictured) was exceptional. The area used to be off-limits to women, but now it is open to all. The neighboring famous restaurant had a long line, so I opted for this one, and it was delicious enough.

Triangle Market. From Sapporo all the way to Otaru. Hokkaido is too big. It should be compressed by about 25%. I wanted to go all out on sea urchin, but I was afraid I might get tired of it halfway through, so I went with a colorful bowl instead. I don't want to get tired of sea urchin. I was happy to see a little bit of it on top. It really has a transparent taste.

When you come to Hokkaido, you have to try the seafood bowl! I can only eat a little bit of raw food, but it's okay! This restaurant lets you choose your favorite ingredients to put on top of the seafood bowl. Crab, scallops, shrimp. Wow, it's quite a generous portion! The seafood looks fresh and shiny, and when you eat it, it's sweet and melts in your mouth. Seafood lovers will surely love it. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, especially the lady who invited customers in was cute. After finishing the meal, we went shopping at the market. We had a great time at the Sankaku Market.

At the Otaru market, I had a seafood bowl! It was a bit crowded with elementary school students on a field trip. The seafood bowl was delicious with plenty of fresh seafood, especially the shrimp and salmon roe. The oysters we ordered were also large and tasty!

I visited this restaurant during my sightseeing in Otaru. They have a system where you can choose three types of seafood you like and they will make it into a bowl for you. It's great to be able to customize your own bowl. I chose crab, sweet shrimp, and button shrimp, all shellfish. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The triangular bowl topped with crab, salmon, and salmon roe costs in the 2,000 yen range, and it was a very satisfying meal. The colorful bowl has 10 types of seafood on it. I added grilled oysters and surf clam sashimi, and with the seafood soup from a coupon on Tabelog, it went perfectly with sake. It's a popular place with a line, but the staff were very polite. I will definitely go again!
