HIROSHIMA OYSTER
This is a shop located in the Sankaku Market right by Otaru Station. I was planning to visit the Nikka Whisky Distillery in Yoichi, so I decided to head from Sapporo to Yoichi, but yesterday I drank a lot of sake and woke up early, so I thought I might as well have a seafood bowl for breakfast. Since I can visit Nijo Market even when I'm in Sapporo, I decided to have breakfast in Otaru this time. I took a bus to Otaru and heard that there is a place called Sankaku Market near Otaru Station, where there are fish stores and eateries. There are famous eateries like Takinami Shokudo, but I heard that this place has good value for money, so I decided to visit this shop. When I entered the shop, perhaps due to taking a day off and it being a weekday morning, it was not crowded. There were about three people in the hall, so I think they are busy even on weekdays. I was tempted by the Gakudaka Don, a cheap bowl that can be ordered at any age, but in the end, with the Hokkaido magic, I decided to go for the Assorted Three Kinds of Don (2,400 yen). I chose tuna, salmon roe, and scallops. This time, since I didn't have a rental car, I also ordered a Sapporo Black Label beer. The salmon roe was not fishy, with no saltiness, and the scallops had a fresh, sticky texture unique to scallops with a good flavor. Ending it with beer, the total came to 3,000 yen, which doesn't feel too expensive, is this the Hokkaido magic? When you order a beer, you get a snack that looks like shredded cabbage, but it is made of octopus and fish paste, which was a perfect accompaniment to the beer.
