Marugen Ramen - Kadoma Branch
After leaving Marugen Ramen in Kadoma, I still felt a bit hungry, so I decided to stop by here on my way back. It was my third meal of the day. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant was almost full and very lively. They also had a decent selection of manga available. I have been visiting Fukuchan more frequently lately, but when I looked at the menu, there were no special limited items, so I asked for a regular ramen that I hadn't tried yet. They asked if I wanted garlic, and I said yes. After a short wait, a bowl of ramen was served. The soup was a milky white color, reminiscent of their regular tonkotsu ramen. It had a smooth texture, no unpleasant smell, and a rich flavor similar to Satsuma ramen. It was a salt ramen, so it had a slightly strong salty taste. The noodles were medium thickness straight noodles with a yellowish color and a good chewy texture. The chashu consisted of two thick slices with some fat, also resembling Satsuma-style chashu. The toppings included corn, bean sprouts, green onions, and grated garlic. It had been a while since I had tried a regular menu item from Fukuchan, but it was a comforting bowl that paired very well with the garlic. I would like to visit this branch and others more often.

Sesame Tan Tan Men
This branch of Fukuchan was located along Route 21, and although I had passed by it many times, I had never visited before. On this day, I arrived after 10:00 pm, and the parking lot was quite full. Inside, the tables were about 80% full, creating a bright and lively atmosphere. I noticed a limited-time menu item called Tan Tan Men, so I decided to order that. While waiting, I snacked on the complimentary kimchi from the kimchi bar. The ramen that arrived was served in a slightly deeper bowl, with a base of milky white light tonkotsu soup mixed with a red spicy sauce. The spicy sauce, which seemed to contain chili peppers, provided a strong kick, making it difficult to discern the soup's flavor. I didn't taste much sesame flavor, but it became more noticeable towards the bottom. The noodles were slightly thick straight noodles, with a slightly shorter length, but a chewy texture. The toppings included crunchy shredded leeks, bok choy, and a generous amount of minced meat, with no chashu. Despite not being as spicy as it looked, it was an easy-to-eat bowl, but I felt it lacked meatiness. It made me crave the regular light tonkotsu ramen from Fukuchan. Thank you for the meal.
