This is a restaurant located in a hot spring facility. It is also used by hotel guests. Next to it is a roadside station, so it feels like hot springs, hotel, restaurant, and roadside station are all packed together! There are spacious sofa seats, making it easy for children to use.

This is a restaurant review of the hotel where I stayed. I ordered "Torizangi" for 500 yen. The meat was of good quality and delicious, but I wish the flavor was a bit stronger. "Sweet Shrimp Bowl" for 3000 yen was really good. The shrimp was great, but the rice was also delicious. "Shrimp and Octopus Yaki Gyoza" for 550 yen was a bit disappointing. They tried to do something with the specialty shrimp and octopus, but it didn't quite work. By the way, the highball was good. It would have been even better if the carbonation was a bit stronger.

I ordered the Seafood Salt Yakisoba for 980 yen from the weekly menu in February. The menu is extensive. Although water is self-service, it would be nice if the staff could bring it to you if they are just standing around. The seafood includes peeled shrimp, squid, and clam meat. The squid is beautifully cut. It comes with soup and pickled vegetables. The noodles have a crispy texture from being grilled. I enjoyed changing the flavor by adding vinegar halfway through. Overall, the quality is decent as it is a hotel restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Mini seafood bowl set (with mini soba) for ¥1500. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel. I ordered the mini seafood bowl with Haboro's specialty sweet shrimp. Unfortunately, they were out of sweet shrimp due to the recent shortage in harvest. I really wanted to try the sweet shrimp because they are known for being very sweet.

Located in Habomai-cho, Tomamae-gun, Hokkaido, the hot spring accommodation facility "Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza" houses a restaurant on the first floor called "Kaisen Shokusai Nitou Monogatari." The "Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza" opened in 1994 as a third-sector project of the town but was later entrusted to the management of Ambix Co., Ltd., based in Sapporo, in 2004. In 1998, it was also registered as a Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station) under the name "Michi-no-Eki Hotto Haboro." The main reason for visiting this restaurant was to try the "Haboro Ebi Shio Ramen." According to the official website of Habomai-cho, the town boasts the highest catch of sweet shrimp in Japan. Various sweet shrimp dishes can be enjoyed in the town, such as "Sweet Shrimp Bowl," salt ramen using sweet shrimp called "Haboro Ebi Shio Ramen," and a local gourmet dish called "Haboro Ebi Tako-yaki Gyoza" using sweet shrimp and the locally renowned Mizudako. Hokkaido's sweet shrimp has been certified as the "Pride Fish" by the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and each prefecture's fisheries cooperatives, with the peak season being from May to July. This trip to Hokkaido was in July, so it was the perfect timing. On this Sunday, I arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 pm. The restaurant was busy, but fortunately, there was no wait. The menu offered not only the "Haboro Ebi Shio Ramen" but also the "Sweet Shrimp Bowl" and "Ebi Tako-yaki Gyoza," among other sweet shrimp dishes. I ordered the "Haboro Ebi Shio Ramen" without hesitation. The "Haboro Ebi Shio Ramen" costs 1,100 yen (tax included) and features a soup base made from chicken broth with sweet shrimp powder and sweet shrimp oil. The toppings included deep-fried sweet shrimp that can be eaten whole and Ebi Tako-yaki Gyoza. The soup had a subtle sweet shrimp flavor and a gentle taste with a rich umami from the broth. The noodles were thick and chewy with a firm texture. The deep-fried sweet shrimp had a crispy shell and a fragrant taste, although I preferred it without the shell. The gyoza, made without meat but with sweet shrimp and Mizudako, had a noticeable texture from the diced octopus. It was delicious, but I wished I could have tried the gyoza separately without it being in the soup. The dish also came with a sashimi of locally caught octopus. Overall, it was a set where you could enjoy various specialties at once. The "Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza" also offers day-use hot spring bathing for 500 yen, which I would have liked to try if I had more time. I would love to visit again for the hot springs. Thank you for the meal.

In winter, many shops in Haboro are closed for a period, so today's lunch was at a restaurant inside the Haboro Onsen facility. I was in the mood for a seafood bowl or sweet shrimp bowl, so I ordered the "Sweet Shrimp Bowl." The menu board at the entrance said it had about 25 sweet shrimp, but when the bowl arrived, there were neatly arranged 30 shrimp. Even the miso soup had sweet shrimp in it. The sweet shrimp from Haboro really are sweet! I enjoyed it slowly and it was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to Haboro, it's all about sweet shrimp. I really wanted to try the sweet shrimp bowl, but ended up having the local specialty shrimp salt ramen due to various considerations with my companions. The restaurant was spacious and well-distanced. Water is self-service here. The order arrived in just five minutes. Despite being quite busy, the speed was impressive. When the ramen arrived, I realized that the bowl was small. Also, they no longer had the flavor-changing items that others had mentioned in the past, and the separate plate only had three pieces of sweet shrimp sashimi. When I slurped the soup, it had a refreshing saltiness as clear as it looked. The shrimp flavor was subtle. But it was perfect for a hangover. The noodles were thick and smooth, with a good texture. There seemed to be less green onions than in the photo. There was also a shrimp dumpling on top, which was okay. The fried shrimp on top was said to be edible, but I didn't want to eat the head or tail. It could be choking and not that delicious. Peeling the sweet shrimp sashimi was a bit of a hassle, but it was tasty. Overall, I was satisfied. The portion was small, so eating until full might make you tired of it. Thanks to that, I could have another bowl of ramen elsewhere, which was a good deal.

I ordered the recommended Boro Shrimp Shio Ramen at Niijima Monogatari in Sunset Plaza Hotel. It came with sweet shrimp sashimi, sweet shrimp tempura, and shrimp and octopus dumplings for 950 yen (tax included). The soup has a subtle shrimp flavor, and the noodles are thick and quite firm, which may be a matter of preference. The combination of shrimp and octopus dumplings and sweet shrimp tempura as toppings is excellent.

I stopped by for lunch because I wanted to eat the mixed fry set meal that my former colleague used to eat. We are taking thorough measures against COVID-19. However... the menu has been reduced and the mixed fry set meal that I was looking forward to is no longer available! In fact, it feels like about 30% of the menu has been cut (tears). To make matters worse, the seafood ankake yakisoba was also not available for order. And each lunch item is priced at over 1,000 yen, which seems expensive. I spotted the eel tempura rice bowl for 900 yen and decided to order it. The eel tempura rice bowl that came out had a decent portion size. This seemed more reasonable in terms of price. The taste was not bad either. However, as someone climbing the stairs of middle age, the oil from the tempura was tough on my stomach. The eel itself was delicious, but I was defeated by the oil (^^;;). I should have opted for a lunch that was easier on the stomach. Lesson learned. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed at a hotel where this restaurant is located on Saturday, July 25th. I chose a room-only plan, so I decided to go eat dinner at the restaurant. I had eaten a lot during the day, so I thought a light dinner would be okay. I chose the "Shrimp Salt Ramen," which features the characteristics of Hagoro. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:00 PM, but had to wait for a while due to infection control measures. I waited for about 30 minutes. Finally, I was seated and quickly ordered the "Shrimp Salt Ramen," which cost ¥950 including tax. The dish was ready unexpectedly fast, in about 5-6 minutes. The ramen consisted of fried sweet shrimp and fried dumplings on top. The soup was a salty soup with little transparency. It also had fresh sweet shrimp on top. However, the freshness of the sweet shrimp seemed lacking, which was a bit disappointing. I tried a few bites, but the soup did not have as much shrimp flavor as I expected. The noodles were average. Overall, I couldn't bring myself to finish the soup and left quite a bit behind when I returned to my room. There seems to be room for improvement in this ramen. This is just my personal impression, and others may have different opinions.

Haboro's local specialty dish, Shrimp Salt Ramen. The rich shrimp broth pairs perfectly with the noodles. It also comes with 4 deep-fried sweet shrimp and one shrimp taco dumpling. Additionally, there are 3 raw sweet shrimp with shells on. It's fun to peel and eat them. All of this for 950 yen including tax is a great value. It was delicious!

Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza Nijima Story [Curry Island Hokkaido, It's an Incident!] Curry #325 #446 on September 7, 2019 ■ Haboro Shrimp Octopus Dumpling Curry After participating in a curry event in Takasu-cho, a neighboring town of Asahikawa, I drove about 150km, 2 hours to Haboro-cho. For those wondering where Haboro-cho is, it's about halfway between Sapporo and Wakkanai. It is located 200km north of Sapporo. For reference, 200km from Tokyo would lead to places like Iwaki City in Fukushima Prefecture, Yuzawa-cho in Niigata Prefecture, or Fujieda City in Shizuoka Prefecture. This shows how large Hokkaido is. Haboro is a very remote town, and you can strongly feel the northern atmosphere overlooking Haboro Port. It was impressive to see seagulls standing in the middle of the road without a care. The purpose of coming to Haboro-cho was to eat Haboro Shrimp Octopus Dumpling Curry locally. At the Michi no Eki Hottoba, there is the Sunset Plaza Nijima Story restaurant, which is part of the Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza. This facility doubles as a large hot spring hotel, and the service quality is very pleasant. I had a great time enjoying the Haboro Shrimp Octopus Dumpling Curry. Of course, it had a different taste from the event venue. It was a hotel curry that had been carefully prepared with attention to detail, as expected from a hotel. Eating the shrimp octopus dumplings with curry here was especially enjoyable. Since it's a hot spring, I soaked in the hot spring at the Sunset Plaza. It was a great bath. Of course, after getting out of the bath, I had to have a bottle of milk! But when I looked at the origin, it was actually from Ibaraki Prefecture (laughs). I thoroughly enjoyed it. Happy ending. #GoggleMask #HaboroOnsen #HaboroOnsenSunsetPlaza #NijimaStory #HaboroShrimpOctopusDumplingCurry #LocalCurry #CurryIslandHokkaido #StampRally

Haboro Sunset Plaza (Michi-no-Eki) is a restaurant located at a rest stop. I was a bit skeptical at first because a seafood specialty store nearby had closed down, thinking it might just be a regular restaurant with average food, but I was hungry so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was quite spacious and comfortable to sit in. Although you couldn't see the sea from the large windows as it faced the road, I wondered if the design was meant for the sea to be visible from the hot springs or accommodation rooms. The menu was surprisingly diverse, and I noticed they had the sweet shrimp bowl that I had missed out on earlier, priced at 2200 yen, a bit expensive but why not treat myself, right? Each menu item had a funny little description which made me chuckle. I ordered the sweet shrimp bowl, seafood curry, ginger pork, and curry. The drink bar was a good deal if you ordered it with your meal. After about ten minutes, the sweet shrimp bowl arrived at our table! It was packed full and made a great impression. I took a bite without adding soy sauce and it was sweet and juicy! The seafood curry had a nostalgic taste as described on the menu. The squid was cute! The ginger pork was thick and satisfying. The curry was a bit spicy, so if you have kids, maybe order the children's curry instead. I'm sorry for underestimating it, but it was actually really delicious.

Before the Yaki-jiri Festival, we had a meal of sweet shrimp to prepare our stomachs. I had the image that sweet shrimp would be soft and gooey, but here, the shrimp was firm and chewy with a sweet taste. The rice was completely covered with shrimp, so you couldn't even see the rice underneath. The rice was not vinegared, just plain white rice with a few pieces of ikura. It was delicious and cost 2200 yen. There are also many other options available, making it perfect for passing the time while waiting for a boat.

I had shrimp fry curry for lunch on Saturday. Unlike weekdays, there were many families dining at the restaurant. They offer various menu items, including delicious curry similar to what you would find at a Western-style restaurant. The menu mentioned "fairly large shrimp," and indeed, there were two large and crispy shrimp fry on top of the curry. It was a tasty shrimp fry curry.

This restaurant, known for its sweet shrimp ramen, is located at a roadside station with hot springs. I tried the Seafood Ankake Yakisoba for 1,100 yen. It looks like soup yakisoba, with the noodles not visible. The soup (ankake) has a salty taste and is a clean white color. The dish includes scallops, squid, clams, and shrimp fritters for seafood, as well as cabbage and carrots for vegetables. Although it didn't have much of an ankake feel, it was a nice surprise to have both seafood ankake ramen and yakisoba.

Welcome.---------- December 2018 ----------Hotto Haburo 1F Back Haburo Onsen Sunset Plaza 1F Dining area |o| °д°)ノ HelloThere are chairs scattered around the spacious interior, a bit plain. It seems to be sustained by meals from the hot spring and tourists. It's quiet...I tried the Haburo Shrimp Shio Ramen, which can only be tasted in this area. The presentation is different from the photo, with a flat visual, but it is still better arranged than other people's photos. The Sunset Plaza comes with 5 sweet shrimp, but here only 4. There is no shrimp oil flavor, no shrimp powder, and no shrimp flavor, but the saltiness is gentle. The set also includes "Raw Sweet Shrimp," which is just average. Also, there was one "Shrimp and Octopus Gyoza" which had a delicious octopus flavor from the fried gyoza. The "Sweet Shrimp Tempura" was crispy and the shrimp's whiskers were stuck in my throat. Did the chef make a mistake today?
