Fukuoka's family dinner tradition. Hamakatsu is also found in Tokyo, but it has been a while since the Akihabara store closed. ★Arrival time: Around 6 pm on a holiday. About 40% of the seats were already taken, but we were seated promptly. ★What we ordered this time: Casual Hire Katsu set meal for 1250 yen. It includes Hire Katsu, Ebi Fry, side dish, and dessert. You can also change the Ebi Fry to a different fry. You can order using the tablet on the table, but there are also paper menus available, making it easy to choose. You can also order unlimited rice, cabbage, miso soup, and pickles using the tablet. Convenient. There are seasonal limited-time menus, so it never gets boring. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hamakatsu on Minami Bypass closes a little early. I've been turned down a few times, so I visited early this day. The oysters were just starting to come out, so the Kaki Fry Omotenashi with lemon and tartar sauce was delicious. I'm looking forward to it again this year. The free refills of cabbage, miso soup, and rice are a nice touch.

The meat was tender and flavorful, so I really enjoyed it. I don't usually write reviews for chain restaurants, but it had been a while since I last visited Hamakatsu, so I decided to write one. I found that the spicy sauce alters the taste, so if you want to enjoy the spiciness, it's better to use the Japanese hot mustard on the table. I had seconds of cabbage and rice, and now I'm full. Thank you for the meal.

Here at "Hamakatsu," it's been two years since I last had lunch! My wife got the usual Chicken Katsu, which was a generous portion ✌︎('ω'✌︎) My daughter chose the Katsu Don from the kids' menu d( ̄ ̄) It looks delicious! And something nice happened too d(^_^o) The Katsu and salad were served separately and generously portioned Σ(・□・;)I wish all dishes and restaurants were like this. Also, the barley rice has been replaced with black rice (´⊙ω⊙`) I placed my order, then sprinkled some sesame seeds on top ( ^ω^ ) Oh! They used to have unlimited pickles, but they seem to have run out!... Oh well Σ(・□・;)It's been a while since I've been here, and a lot has changed... But the cost performance has gotten worse... If it's this level of quality for this price, I might not come back... Thank you for the meal (^人^) By the way, I had the Pork Katsu set meal for about 1600 yen... I feel like lining up to go to a famous restaurant in Hakozaki now...

Here at "Hamakatsu," it's been a while since we had lunch! They had a special lunch set for their anniversary, so I ordered the "Rosu and Hire Katsu Set" (^ω^) My wife got her usual "Chicken Katsu," which had extra pieces added (^_^o) My daughter chose the "Chicken Katsu Don" from the kids menu d( ̄ ̄) Looks delicious! And then something nice happened d(^_^o) The katsu and salad were served separately and generously portioned Σ(・□・;) I wish all dishes and restaurants were like this. The pickles, which used to be unlimited, are gone! Well, it's fine Σ(・□・;) It's been a while since I last visited, so many things have changed... The katsu was consistently delicious! This is Tonkatsu Hamakatsu located along Route 3 Fukuoka Minami Bypass. On this day, my wife and I went to clean the grave and on our way back, we decided to have a late lunch here. My wife ordered the Pork Cutlet Bowl and I ordered the Ume Shiso Roll and Pork Set. After placing our order, we sprinkled sesame seeds and waited for our dishes to be ready. My wife's Pork Cutlet Bowl cost 990 yen, featuring juicy pork cutlet topped with a runny egg over rice. My Ume Shiso Roll and Pork Set cost 1390 yen, a limited-time collaboration of thinly sliced pork wrapped with Kishu Nanko Ume plum and a juicy pork cutlet. This time, I went to Tonkatsu Hamakatsu Fukuoka Minami Bypass store located at 1-7-34 Rikka-ji, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. I visited for lunch, arriving early in the morning to avoid crowds. I ordered the set menu with fillet cutlet and shrimp fry. The cabbage was thinly sliced as usual, and the rice was barley rice for a healthier option. The fillet was tender and delicious, and I also enjoyed it with the salt on the table. The shrimp fry was crispy. I had it with both tartar sauce and their secret sauce. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, I continued with takeout again... It's nice that you can order just one item! From the side dish section, I ordered rosukatsu, hirekatsu, chicken katsu, and Holland katsu. While waiting, they served me tea (^人^). It was ready in about 10 minutes (^ω^) So fast! Then I went home and enjoyed it with rice I cooked myself (ˊ̱˂˃ˋ̱) It was the perfect side dish, tonkatsu d(^_^o) But next time, I want to eat it freshly fried at the restaurant! Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m.

I had chicken cutlet for the first time in a while. Unlike other stores, the cabbage was served on a separate plate, and the pickles were served on a long plate individually. I didn't know that plates and serving styles varied depending on the store. I had the hot, freshly fried cutlet with delicious miso soup, both white miso and red miso.

I had lunch at Hamakatsu. I often pass by the Fukuoka Minami Bypass store, but since I usually travel on the downline in the early morning, it's not open. It can be quite inconvenient to come back on the upline. This time, I finished work early and felt like eating tonkatsu, so I arrived early. I ordered the lunch set with loin, fillet, and oysters for 1177 yen. As you may know, the rice, miso soup, pickles, and cabbage are all you can eat. I asked for a large serving of cabbage from the start and had seconds. I really like the fresh dressing. I also had seconds of rice and finished it all in no time. Hamakatsu has many branches, and I visit various ones, but the customer service is always good. The staff at this branch were all young and beautiful women. Thank you for the meal.

The food was delicious but expensive, around 1200 yen for a meal that doesn't offer free refills. The dressing, which seemed to be from the Ringer Hut group, was tasty.

This shop along Route 3 is quite busy during lunchtime due to its roadside location, but the ample seating is convenient. This time, I enjoyed a very affordable weekday lunch here. [Order this time] Ham katsu lunch for 680 yen (excluding tax) with barley rice, white miso soup, and shredded cabbage. Despite being crowded, the service was smooth, with the food served in about 10 minutes. The crispy, small-sized tonkatsu was delicious, along with plenty of shredded cabbage. There were two types of tonkatsu sauce available: regular and spicy. The cabbage dressing was either Japanese-style or fresh. It's great that you can get refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup at this price. I was completely satisfied and will definitely visit again. Blog: http://yamatanbou.seesaa.net

Tonight I stayed in Fukuoka. Everything I did today seemed to backfire. I barely made it onto the Shinkansen in time, had to settle for onigiri in the car for lunch. When I finally arrived, my errands took longer than expected, finishing after 9 pm. I arrived at a popular ramen shop only to find out they closed at 9:30 pm. Feeling frustrated, I decided to take a leisurely drive down Route 3 along the urban expressway and came across "Tonkatsu Hamakatsu." It was around 9:50 pm when I arrived. Surprisingly, there were still a few customers inside. I was seated at a spacious 6-person table. Looking at the menu, I noticed they had a special set menu available after 9 pm. I chose the "Night Special Set Menu" which had three options, and I went with the middle one. The set included rice (I chose barley rice), miso soup (I chose red miso), and cabbage (I chose shredded). The tonkatsu set arrived fairly quickly, within 5 minutes. It included chicken katsu, pork katsu, Dutch katsu, and deep-fried eggplant. The Dutch katsu, which had cheese inside the minced meat, was my favorite. The crispy texture and the flavor of the cheese were delightful. I couldn't resist getting a rice refill, this time opting for white rice. Although I should have stopped at one serving, I justified it by saying the initial serving was small. Overall, it was a fun experience. Tonkatsu always makes me eat more rice than I should. I need to be more careful, but for now, I'll start fresh tomorrow. Another day, another happy and satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

I came to Tonkatsu Hamakatsu in May 2016 for lunch with my colleagues. Hamakatsu has 12 stores in Fukuoka city alone. We ordered the regular lunch menu. Unlike other Hamakatsu branches, the dishes here are served separately, with pickles and cabbage on separate plates. While it may be hard to wash all those dishes, I personally appreciate the separate plates for easier dressing. Hamakatsu serves cold tea in summer and hot tea in winter, allowing for a leisurely lunch. The fact that they serve barley rice is also a plus. I sometimes get taken to family restaurants, but I always welcome a visit to Hamakatsu.

I went to Tonkatsu Hamakatsu Fukuoka Minami Bypass store after a long time. It is located at 1-7-34 Tachibana-ji, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. The front of the store is next to Ringer Hut. The oysters looked delicious, so I decided to have the lunch set with simmered oysters. The table was neatly set as always. Two types of sauce were served with the sesame for grinding. The pickles were delicious, and you could have seconds. There were two types of dressing available. I ordered the Katsu set for 990 yen, which came with red miso soup and cheese katsu, pork fillet katsu, eringi mushroom, and simmered sweet potatoes. The simmered oysters with katsu set for 1390 yen came with two pieces of fried oysters. The simmered katsu was delicious, especially when eaten with extra rice. I ate a lot after a long time. The herbal tea after the meal was refreshing. Visit my blog for more details.

The other day, two of us went around 11pm. There were various options and it was satisfying, but we ordered a set of fillet and loin cutlets. We also topped it with grated yam! We chose multigrain rice and started eating. The waitress was a woman and the atmosphere was decent, so we enjoyed our meal. However, the cutlet's batter was greasy and I got tired of it halfway through. It wasn't as good as when I had it at Hamakatsu in Kurume a long time ago. It was late at night, so I'm not sure if the fryer was acting up, but I might stop by again on a whim.

I ordered the Hirekatsu set meal. My impression of Hamakatsu as a whole is that it may be suitable for people who love greasy and rich food, but I often feel heartburn while eating. The meat is tenderly cooked, but the coating is too thick and overpowering, masking the flavor of the meat. The sauce is also heavily seasoned, so I think this restaurant is more suited for those who enjoy strong flavors and greasy food. I always eat it with salt and sesame, but still end up with heartburn. The price also seems too high for the taste it offers.

Fukuoka Airport is on the way to Dazaifu Inter, so I always stop by when using the airplane. It's convenient to take the back road and return a bit to reach the Inter right away when using the urban expressway. This chain restaurant seems to be centered in Kyushu and offers reasonably priced tonkatsu. Since chain stores provide the same service at any location, it's reassuring. Smoking is allowed all day on weekdays, and the staff's service is good. I always have one bowl each of red and white miso soup. When the cabbage is good, I go for three refills happily. They also have barley rice, but I always choose white rice. Unfortunately, I can no longer get rice refills after turning 30. As you age, your appetite tends to decrease. The crispy and fluffy pork cutlet tastes especially delicious after a trip.
