[October 11, 2013: Revisit] I attended a small event at lunchtime, which ended quite early, so I decided to stop by when the restaurant opened. It was so hot that day, almost like summer (with a high temperature of nearly 32°C), but it started to cool down as the sun set. I felt like having some Japanese food today, so I visited "Snufkin," a place I hadn't been to in a while. As the temperature dropped to 25°C, it was the perfect time to enjoy some room temperature sake. The warm oden and sake I had together made me feel cozy and helped me forget about time passing by. The atmosphere was so homey and comfortable, just like drinking at a friend's house. I ended up staying longer than planned. I tried three different types of sake: Hagi no Tsuru Tokubetsu Junmai, Kamo Kaneshige Junmai-shu, and Komen Junmai-shu. The oden was delicious, and the broth was tasty. The sake went down smoothly. I ended up drinking three cups again today.
[June 20, 2013: Revisit] I went to Umeda for a meal with an old friend, and after finishing early due to their work commitments, we decided to have a drink before heading home. We ended up at "Snufkin" because it started raining. The meal we had wasn't very filling, so I started feeling a bit hungry. I planned to have some light snacks and leave, but I ended up having a drink first. I tried "Hakurakusei Junmai Daiginjo Nama-sake Usumigori" with a side of "Shirauo no Shio-ko." The side dish was delicious. Then, I had "Oki Homare Junmai-shu Rousoku Island Label" with "Wata-iri Ika no Aburi." The bitterness and saltiness of the dish paired well with the sake. I kept drinking more and more. I forgot about my initial plan to have a light snack and ended up drinking again. The tempting side dishes and snacks on the blackboard menu distracted me. I couldn't resist. I ended up having "Mentaiko Pasta" and "Urakasumi Junmai-shu" with ice. I ate a lot and drank a lot again today. It's almost 11:00 PM, and I have work tomorrow. Will I be able to get home as it's raining due to the typhoon?
[June 8, 2013] I was on a business trip to Osaka again this week. I decided to go to Namba and searched on Tabelog for "Namba Shinsaibashi Japanese Sake." I found a restaurant I had never seen before. It was called "Nihonshu to Oden Sakaba Snufkin." It was Saturday evening, and after finishing work, I headed there. Snufkin was located near Dotonbori's main street, close to Hikkake Bridge and behind Midosuji Avenue in Nippo Fine Plaza 2F. It was a bit hard to find because the sign was not very visible on the building map. After searching around the building, I finally found it and entered. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the automatic door with reggae music playing in the background. The owner, a blonde with black-rimmed glasses, and a cute blonde waitress welcomed me. The impact was too much, and the gap between the atmosphere of a Japanese sake-focused restaurant and the lively setting was intriguing. I sat at the counter, where the staff was very polite, and the atmosphere was enjoyable despite the initial shock. The L-shaped counter was designed to be comfortable, with eight chairs lined up. The counter had the restaurant's mascot, Snufkin, and a Shocker mask. The staff asked for my drink order, so I decided to try some Japanese sake. The menu featured 10 types of chilled sake, nine types of room temperature sake, and two types of cloudy sake. The variety on the blackboard menu indicated that they rotated different brands for customers to enjoy.
