I arrived at "Kinnobuta," located on the 2nd basement floor of the ANA InterContinental Tokyo hotel. I had heard about this place on the radio and wanted to try it out. Among the many shabu-shabu specialty restaurants, this one exudes a higher level of luxury from its appearance. The all-you-can-eat prices are 3,355 yen, 3,905 yen, and 5,225 yen for three courses. We opted for the middle course at 3,905 yen. I heard from someone in the men's clothing industry that when shown three types of suits, most Japanese people tend to choose the middle one. This psychology seems to apply to course meals as well. We also added the all-you-can-drink option for 1,650 yen. What surprised me at this restaurant was the variety of broth flavors. I think the shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat places I've been to before had about 6-8 types of broth, but at Kinnobuta, they have a whopping 16 types. It's way ahead of the competition. The broth flavors include: - Rich pork bone ginger soy sauce broth - Crab miso butter broth - Creamy potage broth - Spicy tan-tan broth - Luxurious fond de veau broth - Tom kha gai broth - Fisherman-style seafood tomato broth - Burnt garlic soy sauce broth - Rishiri kelp broth - Sukiyaki-style broth - Grated Japanese-style flying fish broth - Japanese-style chicken white broth - Chicken and yuzu salt broth - Clam chowder broth - Sichuan-style spicy broth with 15 kinds of spices And as a limited-time special, the "Luxurious Lobster Seafood Cream Broth with Grana Padano Cheese." We chose the "Grated Japanese-style flying fish broth," "Japanese-style chicken white broth," and the "Luxurious Lobster Seafood Cream Broth with Grana Padano Cheese." We dipped Japanese pork loin, shoulder, belly, Iberico pork, tofu, macaroni, vegetables into the broth and savored the meal. Now, let's dig in... Hmm, it's delicious as expected. It's not too greasy, and the meat fibers are tender, making it enjoyable without getting tired of it. Plus, by dipping the meat in the broth, you can remove excess fat and enjoy a healthy meal. The "Grated Japanese-style flying fish broth" and "Japanese-style chicken white broth" are light and go well together. However, personally, the "Luxurious Lobster Seafood Cream Broth with Grana Padano Cheese" has a bit of a distinct taste. I somehow sense the unique aroma of crustaceans like in a bisque. Well, on the other hand, they are using a broth made with luxurious lobster, so it will be irresistible to those who like it. We also ordered the "Hokkaido Scallop Cream Croquette" from the a la carte menu, and the creamy filling inside was gooey and piping hot. It was delicious. For dessert, you can choose one item, so we opted for the dessert wagon service. They bring a variety of colorful and beautiful desserts on a small cart. It's hard to choose because they all look so enticing. I wish I could just take as many as I want. The two hours flew by. Phew... Thank you for the meal~.
