I visited to celebrate a friend's job offer with a 5800 yen course. I ordered Amaou cider, which was a bit too sweet and didn't quite match the dishes. The food had complex flavors, but I prefer something more simple and bold lately. However, the main fish dish was delicious! The surprise for my friend was a success, and the service was excellent! Also, passing through the spacious Japanese garden from the entrance to the dining room, the view was stunning as it started to get dark, which lifted my spirits. Thank you for the meal.

It was a great place for our anniversary! Enjoying French cuisine while looking at the changing seasons of nature was luxurious. Making an early reservation allowed us to almost have the place to ourselves, so we could eat quietly and slowly. After the meal, we were guided around the facility and were surprised by its size. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Kyoto Luan Akane Resort is a restaurant that was renovated from a large mansion, spanning 700 square meters. It is part of the Luan group, which also has a branch in Suma Rikyu in Kobe. We enjoyed a delicious lunch course, including sautéed monko squid, frothy potage, sautéed cherry snapper, something something fillet of tea beauty pork, strawberry something dessert, and coffee. Despite being located in the bustling tourist area of Kiyomizu, once you pass through the gate, you enter a tranquil world of serenity. The neighborhood seemed to be mostly filled with foreign tourists, with only a few Japanese families like ours. Perhaps they have found a way to thrive in Japan's current economic climate with the weak yen.

We went to this restaurant with our parents and husband after taking pre-wedding photos! It was exciting because this place is also a wedding party venue.
[About the restaurant]
- A historic mansion built in 1925 in Higashiyama owned by a well-established company
- The former owner of a "copper" processing manufacturer, so even the roof and rain gutters are made of "copper"
- Dejeuner B for ¥5,500
- Each dish is beautifully presented
- The salmon is thick and incredibly delicious
- The red sea bream combines the best of Japanese and Western flavors, the seasoning is excellent!
- The dessert was luxurious and delicious
- The drink menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable
[Atmosphere of the restaurant]
- It had a dignified and calming atmosphere, just like when we attended a bridal fair
- The spacing between tables was comfortable and not cramped
- Plenty of natural light coming in from above, creating a bright and pleasant ambiance
[Sakiti's tip]
- We went for lunch on a weekday and the reservation was fully booked, so early booking is essential
- A 15% discount is available for those who have had their wedding at Akagane or are planning to, which is much appreciated!

I was taken to Kyoto French in Higashiyama, Kyoto. The restaurant is located in a renovated mansion owned by a prestigious copperware manufacturer, and the entrance and garden are truly beautiful. We opted for the light course, which included appetizers, soup, main course, and dessert. Women tend to enjoy this type of course. We started with a toast with sparkling wine, followed by cold appetizers and cold soup. Luckily, the soup was vichyssoise, which is one of my favorites. The main course and dessert were also delicious, but unfortunately, the air conditioning seemed to be malfunctioning or our table was just too hot. We found ourselves wiping away sweat throughout the meal. Despite this, the atmosphere was very nice, and I believe that with better service and maintenance, the restaurant could be even more wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Akagane Dining near Kodai-ji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto for lunch with a friend. It took about 15 minutes to walk from Kawaramachi. The restaurant is located in the middle of a tourist area, with a large property that includes a wedding venue, restaurant, and cafe. Despite being a historic building, it did not feel old at all. Instead, it exuded a charming Kyoto atmosphere. The restaurant seemed to also be used as a wedding reception venue due to its spacious and relaxed seating. We opted for the lunch course with a dessert buffet, which included the following: Appetizer of deep-fried conger eel and seafood mélange salad, choice of main course (I chose sautéed Hiyoshi pork with balsamic sauce), and a dessert buffet by the pastry chef, along with coffee. The dessert buffet was brought to our table on a cart, allowing us to choose our favorites. We tried everything and had seconds of our favorites. Although the overall number of dishes was limited, we left feeling satisfied after indulging in the desserts. We spent about 2 hours there and had a luxurious lunch experience. I highly recommend it for a girls' get-together or a date. Thank you for the delicious meal! ★

This time, my mother and I received the Sezon course as a celebration for my advancement in education. As expected, the food was truly delicious, reflecting its high price. The lobster soup and foie gras were especially exquisite! Honestly, they were so delicious that it's hard to put into words. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and you can see a beautiful garden. For special occasions like celebrations, I highly recommend this restaurant!

I was taken here for Christmas. Every dish was delicious and I was very satisfied. My favorite was the foie gras poêlé. It was served with apples, which provided a perfect balance of richness from the foie gras and sweetness and tartness from the apples. It went really well with the drinks. What surprised me the most was that this building used to be a private residence. It was truly a wonderful restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Akagane Resort Kyoto Higashiyama 1925 near Kodai-ji Temple to have afternoon tea with a friend. The grand mansion from the Taisho era made me feel nervous as I passed through the gate, but the welcoming staff immediately put me at ease. The tea room was located through the garden, which was not a typical open garden but a natural terrain with different levels, originally with a flowing river. The staff kindly explained the garden and the building, making our visit even more enjoyable. We were led to a separate traditional Japanese house, a perfect location for busy and important people to relax. We lost track of time as we enjoyed the afternoon tea served in a black lacquered tiered box, with various Japanese tea desserts. The matcha opera cake was rich, the hojicha tiramisu had a wonderful aroma, and the light meal included croissant sandwiches with seared bonito, prosciutto, and salmon rillette. The seasonal fruits, financiers, matcha fondue, and various other desserts in the tiered box were all delicious and beautifully presented. The location and the special afternoon tea experience were perfect for a relaxing time with friends. I look forward to coming back with more friends for another enjoyable visit. Thank you, and see you again.

The moment of heading towards the shop while looking up at the five-tiered tower in Kyoto is exciting, even for those who live there. Upon arrival, the shop has a large garden and a beautiful presentation leading up to the delicious meal. The food is both beautiful and tasty, and relatively affordable. I have added this restaurant to my list of places to take visitors to Kyoto.

I came across this place while looking for a restaurant similar to HIGASHIYAMA, which I used to love. On this particular day, the main restaurant was probably being used for a wedding or some event, so HIGASHI was open for business. We had to wait in a separate area until the venue was ready. After a short walk in the garden, we entered the venue. The setting was modern with high ceilings, and though it was beautiful, it lacked a certain charm. We toasted with sparkling wine!
- Amuse-bouche: A bite-sized rillette packed with flavor, delicious.
- Appetizer: Salmon and feta cheese, a refreshing and tangy starter.
- Potage: Lobster flan in bisque style, rich with the flavor of shrimp.
- Fish dish: Pan-fried Isaki fish with a fluffy texture, accompanied by fresh snap peas.
- Meat dish: Roasted lamb, very tender with just the right amount of gaminess, very good.
- Dessert: Rich brownie with intense caramel gelato, a strong finish.
- Bread: We had two types of bread, and the butter was also delicious.
- After-dinner drink: Each dish was stylish, and the service was impeccable. The prices were not too high, so I think it's a fair deal. You will exit from a different back door than where you entered.

AKAGANE DINING (Akagane Resort) is an integrated resort that opened in the spring of 2013, featuring a wedding venue, restaurant, and cafe. Located in the historic Higashiyama district of Kyoto, the resort was originally a mansion built in 1925 by the owner of a renowned copper processing company, hence the luxurious use of copper in the roof and gutters. The renovation was carried out by designers Sasao Shuhei and Saito. The main lounge, which also serves as a French restaurant when not hosting weddings, offers a variety of French dishes. I visited this place for a special birthday celebration through a reservation on the website "Ikyu Restaurant". The lunch menu included a sparkling wine toast, a choice of main courses, and a strawberry dessert buffet. The dishes, such as marinated squid, Kyoto pork, and grilled yellowtail, were all delicious. The dessert buffet, featuring strawberry-themed treats, was enjoyable, although not exceptional. The location is perfect for a leisurely lunch, and the garden walk after the meal provides a peaceful escape from the crowds. I recommend this place for couples, especially during the daytime. I would definitely visit again if given the chance.

On the second day of our trip to Kyoto, we had lunch at AKAGANE DINNING, which is located near the popular tourist spot Higashiyama in Kyoto. This restaurant is housed in a renovated mansion from the Taisho era. As we passed through the gate, the bustling noise of the surroundings faded away, and we were welcomed into a peaceful space. There was a wedding taking place that day, with people dressed in formal attire. General customers like us, who came for lunch, were guided through a varied courtyard to the high-ceilinged new building. The food was beautifully presented French cuisine with elegant flavors. And the highlight for my family was the dessert buffet. During this season, there were various sweets made with strawberries. We indulged in a luxurious feeling even in the middle of the day.

Near the Five-storied Pagoda, there is a beautiful gate that leads you in. We made a reservation for a course meal. It was a fusion of French and Japanese cuisine, combining the goodness of Kyoto and Japan with elegance and artistic taste. One of the staff members seemed a bit pushy, but it didn't seem intentional. The garden was also stunning.

Anyway, it was amazing. I went for dinner. The spacious night garden was fantastic, and of course, the food was also excellent. Next time, I would like to visit for lunch and see the daytime garden.

I attended a celebratory event at a charming old mansion on the way from Higashioji Street to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The entrance to the restaurant cannot be accessed by car, so it feels like stepping back in time from a bustling area to a peaceful setting. The food was carefully prepared and delicious, offering a delightful dining experience.

The atmosphere and the food were both really good. We had a course menu for 4000 yen and added foie gras as a main dish. The dessert was a strawberry buffet. It was a nice place to relax and unwind.
