It was a while ago, but I found out online that there is a branch of my favorite Kushikatsu restaurant, Kushikatsu Ikka, in Umeda. I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. The location of the restaurant was inside the Hankyu Higashi-dori Shopping Street, which gave me a slightly uneasy feeling. It was quite deep inside the shopping street, and it felt like I hadn't been to Higashi-dori in over 20 years. Stepping inside after a long time, I found the atmosphere to be quite traditional. I chose this restaurant for a meal with a friend who lives in Hawaii, wanting to try something that they wouldn't have in Hawaii. The exterior of the restaurant was a bit disappointing, but the staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered a course meal, and enjoyed both the cold and grilled skewers. However, I couldn't help but wish the restaurant was a bit cleaner. I might visit again with friends who enjoy this kind of traditional atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

I thought I never had the chance to eat asparagus, but it feels like I've been eating nothing but asparagus-wrapped pork (laughs). Sometimes I can just walk in, but it's better to make a reservation if you're going. Depending on the type, some items can be ordered grilled, so be sure to ask when ordering. ✋

I used to be able to walk in without a reservation, but recently you need to make a reservation to get in. I like the asparagus-wrapped pork and the konjac with baby octopus. Many dishes come with plum, so if you don't like plum, please ask for it to be removed! One thing that caught my attention is that they collect the skewers, so I wonder what it means to bring the skewers with each order...

I'm hooked on the konjac with vegetables and pork-wrapped asparagus! This is my third time this month, but I wonder when I'll get tired of it. There are a lot of female customers and quite a few couples, so maybe it's popular for dates too. I ate and drank quite a bit, but I was satisfied with around 3000 to 4000 yen.

It's not demi-glace or ketchup, but a unique sauce with a hint of wine that gives it a Western touch... it must be dotenabe. A sweet and savory sauce made with beef and onions. This is definitely a unique omurice that you would find at an izakaya. It was incredibly delicious. The powerful flavor of dotenabe's beef tendon was beautifully recreated in the omurice. There was also a clever twist with the rice inside the egg. Plus, for only 700 yen, it came with miso soup and salad, making it quite affordable. There are 8 different lunch menu options with omurice. I heard they recently made some changes, such as offering a free upgrade to a larger portion if you get the rice served separately. Osaka Kushikatsu Kushiikka (Hankyu Higashi-dori), Osaka City, Kita-ku It's already the start of the new fiscal year. For my first lunch, I went to Umeda and ended up on Hankyu Higashi-dori due to traffic lights. There was a slightly trendy looking restaurant with fried chicken, but a group of new employees were still waiting for their food. I sensed it was going to take a while, so I decided to look for another place. Not too far from there, I found a restaurant called "Kushiikka." The name sounded familiar, and I remembered visiting a similar restaurant in Fukushima and Ohtsu Tenjin. It seems the Ohtsu Tenjin branch has closed down. Looking at the menu, they had unique items like Yukke Don, Tofu Hamburger, and Chicken and Pork Steak. Although they didn't have kushikatsu, it seemed like grilled dishes were their specialty. I entered the restaurant and reconsidered the menu. I was drawn to the word "chicken," but there was no fried chicken here. I was intrigued by the Chicken and Pork Steak, but then I remembered, oh, it's Tuesday, I have a health checkup! So, I chose the Tofu Hamburger. When asked about the rice portion, I said "normal," but I should have said "smaller." The food came out quite quickly, and I enjoyed a healthy lunch. I was impressed by how they turned tofu into a hamburger. It was nice to have grated daikon on top. While strolling around looking for a place to have a drink, I was drawn in by the stylish photos of dishes and decided to visit. I wanted to avoid places that were too crowded, but this one seemed just right. My partner noticed that they had a drink all-you-can for 1000 yen, with an additional 300 yen for beer. As a beer lover, I was tempted to pay the extra 300 yen, but my partner doesn't drink, so I reluctantly decided against it. The menu had so many delicious options that we had a hard time deciding, but we ended up ordering a 10-piece assorted grilled chicken skewers and a seafood carpaccio. The foie gras on daikon was so delicious, it just melted in my mouth. I wanted to exclaim "Torokeru~" like IKKO, but I held back. I found out that this place is actually part of a chain and looking at other reviews, I now want to try their lunch bowls. In hindsight, I realized that if I had booked through Hot Pepper, I could have had unlimited beer for 1000 yen.

Located in Nakazakicho shopping street in Umeda, there is a restaurant called Kushikka. The lunch deals here are amazing. I tried a few options, but the best recommendation is the Yukke Don, which you can even get in a large size for free. There is plenty of Yukke, and the sauce with the egg yolk is incredibly delicious. It comes with miso soup for only 500 yen. I believe it comes with fresh wasabi too. Don't hesitate to try the Yukke Don, you won't be disappointed with the quality for just 500 yen!

At the east end of the Higashi-dori shopping street in Umeda, there is a kawayaki shop. They offer a 500 yen (including tax) lunch menu. I was tempted by the "Limited time only! Beef Yakiniku Donburi for 600 yen" and ordered it. It was a small bowl, but the yakiniku and onions coated in sauce were very appetizing. Later, I noticed they also had a salad for 100 yen. What a bargain! It came with miso soup. I heard that you can get free refills of rice and miso soup with the set meal. There was also a counter with each seat separated by a triangular partition. One of the two men sitting next to me started smoking after eating, so I left immediately. Although it may be a rare find for smokers who want to drink during the day, I personally cannot stand the smell of smoke on my hair and clothes, so I don't think I'll be coming back. Maybe it was mentioned somewhere that smoking is allowed, but I must have missed it...

I used it for a year-end party. The taste was good. It was nice to be able to try a variety of things little by little. The staff seemed busy, maybe because it was the year-end party season and the restaurant was full. The creative ideas for the skewers were stylish and good. Thank you for the meal!

The three types of rice bowl lunches come with free extra rice and miso soup. All of them are a great deal for just one coin. I decided on the Yukke bowl without hesitation, as it features fresh Tajima chicken. Even though the chicken is pre-seasoned, they also provide wasabi on the side. I enjoyed the chicken just as it is, like how you would eat a seafood bowl. The slightly sweet sauce enhances the appetite, and the rice has a light texture, possibly with a hint of vinegar. The chopped seaweed adds a nice flavor to each bite. Adding wasabi soy sauce further enhances the overall taste. Of course, a Yukke bowl must have a raw egg yolk, and it is hidden beneath the chopped seaweed. With the combination of chicken and egg, it almost feels like a parent and child bowl. Lunch on this day was at Kushiikka in Hankyu Higashi-dori, Umeda. The restaurant offers lunch sets for only 500 yen. There are three options: Tajima chicken yukke bowl, Tajima chicken leek mayo bowl, and Guts rice bowl, all with free extra servings. The set meals are 650 yen each, with unlimited rice and miso soup refills. The restaurant has a counter facing the kitchen and tables along the windows. I ordered the Tajima chicken leek mayo bowl with extra rice. It arrived in 6-7 minutes, topped with plenty of mayo and green onions. The rice had a savory sauce, and I added wasabi for extra flavor. The portion was just right, and I left satisfied. Kushiikka specializes in Osaka's famous dish, Kuwayaki, which is cooked on a hoe-like tool. I didn't know that Kuwayaki was an Osaka specialty until I looked it up.

I visited this restaurant for the second time! It is a skewer specialty izakaya with a variety of unique skewers that were delicious. They also have dessert skewers! The food is light, perfect for a quick drink. Highly recommended when you want to drink and eat casually.

The all-you-can-eat and drink option is very reasonable, but you need to go in a large group to try all the different dishes. The staff in the dining hall may not be very friendly.
