Suddenly I felt like eating eel, so I visited this restaurant where I had been before. I remember thinking that the eel was just average and a bit expensive last time, but for some reason it tasted delicious this time. If I feel like eating eel again, I might come back.

I always visit "Uoi" at least once or twice in the summer, and used to go to the main store in Sekime, but since it opened in Hankyu Department Store, I come here often. I occasionally try eel at other stores, but I prefer the taste and grilling of the sauce here. The sauce is not too strong and has a moderate sweetness. My mother and friends are also fans of Uoi. I think the prices are cheaper than other famous stores. This time, I had the "Unaju" and "Grilled Eel Liver Skewers". It was delicious as always. There is always a line at lunchtime, so it's better to come with some extra time. Thank you for the meal.

At Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store, there is a long-established restaurant called "Isshin" specializing in charcoal-grilled eel. I always see a long line here, so this time I got a numbered ticket and waited a bit. I tried the recommended Unatama-don, which was delicious with fluffy egg on top of the eel. At first, I ate it without any sauce, then poured some of the sauce provided on the table on the second half. It was a feast. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat authentic eel in Umeda, so I looked at various restaurant areas in department stores. Among them, this place was the most reasonably priced and always popular, so I visited for the first time. It was already crowded around 6:00 pm on Sunday. The staff's customer service was good, so they let me wait on a chair in front until a table was available. I ordered Nagoya-style hitsumabushi. There was a good amount of eel, and most importantly, the eel was fresh, not greasy, no fishy smell, and perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, absolutely delicious. The sauce was not too sweet, and the condiments and dashi broth were also very tasty, even the pickled vegetables were delicious. It was a bit indulgent for me in terms of price, but the taste was exquisite, the service and turnover were good, and I definitely want to visit this place again. Usually, even after walking 10,000 steps and taking vitamin supplements, I feel exhausted the next day, but I didn't feel tired at all the day after eating eel, so I truly felt the power of food as medicine. Eating eel makes me crave rakugo (traditional Japanese comic storytelling). I enjoy both the eel performers and eel restaurants. Checking the price of eel is not good for my health, so I quickly order my favorite dish and eagerly wait for the grilled eel. I always hope a stylish acquaintance will pay the bill, but I end up paying it myself. The price of eel keeps increasing, and I wonder if it will become harder to eat eel in the future. I can only ask the eel for the answer.

When I went shopping in Umeda, I went to have lunch. I visited Hanashin Umeda Main Store on the 9th floor at Hanashin Ooedo, which serves charcoal-grilled eel dishes. The eel is grilled over high-quality charcoal, following the Kansai style. It was crowded during lunchtime, but I was seated promptly at a table. The eel served that day was from Kagoshima. While the Unatama-don also caught my eye on the menu, I decided to order the Hitsumabushi (3200 yen). The table was set with eel sauce, soy sauce, and sansho pepper. After placing my order, the Hitsumabushi arrived. The main eel dish was half a portion, accompanied by condiments such as green onions, seaweed, and wasabi, as well as dashi broth and pickles. When I tasted the eel as it was, the surface was crispy and the flesh was juicy and flavorful, making it easy to eat. I then added condiments halfway through and finished with a light and delicious dashi tea porridge. It was enjoyable to experience the various flavor changes. The meal was delicious, and I left feeling satisfied. I look forward to trying the Unatama-don next time.

Reservations are not accepted, and you can get a waiting number on-site or online, but if you're not there when called, you'll be skipped. I always order the delicious Unatama Don here. The egg is fluffy and hot, and it's really tasty! The amount of eel is small, so it's not recommended for those who want to eat a lot, but if you like eggs, you should definitely try it.

After work, I wandered over and found the place to be packed with tourists. I was quickly seated and ordered the "Uwunatama Don" for 2550 yen along with a highball. The eel served today was from Shibushi, Kagoshima Prefecture, according to the sign. The dish arrived promptly, and I wondered if the eel was pre-cooked. The "Uwunatama Don" came with half a piece of eel, which was a bit disappointing as a regular "Unatama Don" usually comes with a quarter. The dashimaki tamago was hot and fresh, though I prefer it to have more dashi flavor. The eel sauce was lightly sweet, which I liked, and the portion was just right. For those who prefer more sauce, there was extra sauce available on the table. The eel had a thin skin and a refreshing taste. Overall, I enjoyed the eel dish and felt recharged. The newly renovated 9th floor restaurant area at Hankyu Department Store is crowded on a Saturday afternoon. There are 8 groups waiting in line. I sat near the restaurant to wait. Surprisingly, I was called in about 10 minutes. The restaurant is actually quite small. I ordered the special hitsumabushi made with one eel. I waited for about 15 minutes while drinking beer. The hitsumabushi was served. I enjoyed it in the three traditional ways. Although I used to prefer eating it with broth, the crispy grilled eel was the most delicious as it is. I noticed that both tables next to me were occupied by inbound tourists. They were speaking English, so they might be from Hong Kong. Perhaps they are eel lovers from China.

I have a young child who frequently gets sick, making it difficult to schedule appointments in advance. It's hard to get a reservation for a private room at the main store on Sundays as they are usually booked for the month. I went to check out this Hankyu Umeda store by myself, carrying a large paper bag from Valentine's shopping. The staff kindly offered to take my bag inside. While waiting, I looked through the menu and decided on a 3-item platter and my favorite grilled white fish. But as I got hungrier, I opted for the Hankyu store exclusive white fish bowl instead. Although I initially planned to have a beer and wait, I ended up ordering just the beer and the bowl since it was ready quickly. The white fish was delicious and fragrant, and I enjoyed it with condiments like wasabi and soy sauce. I couldn't finish all the rice in the bowl as it was quite a generous portion for a woman. The atmosphere in the back of the restaurant seemed child-friendly if they behaved well. The food and the ambiance complement each other well. I prefer the main store (laughs).

I ordered Hitsumabushi and Unadon. The Unadon had well-seasoned eel, rice, and light fluffy tamagoyaki which paired perfectly. I want to eat it again. The tamagoyaki was hot inside, be careful not to burn yourself. I went around 6 pm and the restaurant was almost full. By 7 pm, there were a few people waiting.

I used the GotoEAT voucher to its fullest by entering the restaurant! I ordered Hitsumabushi eel with Sansho pepper and eel wrapped in egg! It was my first time trying Sansho pepper and egg wrap, but it was delicious (๑>◡<๑). The egg wrap is made with dashi broth, so I highly recommend it! Please try ordering and eating it!

The eel restaurant in Hankyu Department Store's restaurant street serves Kansai-style eel, which is different from the Kanto style as it is not steamed but has a refined sauce. The rolled omelette also has a refined taste with a Kansai-style dashi. It is different from the punchy taste of the Tokai region but is elegantly prepared in a Kansai style, which is also delicious (I'm not a fan of steamed eel).

The long-established eel restaurant, Uoibonten, used to be located in a busy area where you had to make a special trip to eat there, but now it's on the 9th floor of Hankyu Department Store! What a relief. The customers at the eel restaurant are mostly older people. Even in the early evening, it quickly became full. I was torn between getting an eel bowl or unagi-don, but I ended up ordering the Hitsumabushi. At first, I ate it as it was. The eel at Uoibonten is fluffy and has a light taste. It's satisfying to eat. As I continued eating, I tried adding condiments and pouring dashi broth over it, making it a luxurious version of ochazuke. Hitsumabushi is delicious, so it feels like you're getting a good deal because it's enjoyable twice. Because it's so delicious, I thought I would like to try eating at the main store at least once for this kind of Japanese cuisine!

Charcoal-grilled eel restaurant Uo I (Hankyu Department Store, Osaka City Kita Ward) Whenever you go, there are always groups of double digits lining up to get a numbered ticket at the eel restaurant on the 9th floor restaurant floor of Hankyu Department Store. However, I visited because it was surprisingly "no wait". When I arrived, it was indeed "no wait", but the restaurant was full. However, I was quickly seated as soon as the previous customers left. There are various menu items such as eel rice bowl, hitsumabushi, eel and egg bowl, and grilled eel bowl, but I decided to try the somewhat unusual "Stamina Bowl". The dish was served quite speedily, arriving in just 5 minutes. While it may not seem like there are many stamina sources better than eel, the dish was topped with onsen tamago and a large amount of chopped green onions, with a note to "mix the egg and onions well before eating". It's a unique dish, but adding color to the eel and rice, it didn't seem like a bad idea. Of course, I still want to eat eel as voraciously as before, but maybe it's not a bad idea to just have a bite of the crispy grilled eel. Today was the midsummer day of the ox, so I felt like eating eel and decided to go to this restaurant called "Sumibiya Unagi Uo I". It was around 2:30 pm, and the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the Unaju (large) for 2950 yen, which came with pickles and eel liver. I love the moment when you open the lid of the Unaju. It contains 2/3 of an eel. I usually order this dish either dining in or for takeout. I usually go to the shop in Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, but it's hard to go there after work as it falls during lunch break. The store in Hankyu Department Store is open all day, which is convenient. However, today the eel skin wasn't as crispy and fragrant as usual. It was still delicious, but the lack of crispy skin was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, eel is always delicious. This will help me get through the summer.
