My wife said she wanted to eat okonomiyaki, so we went to "Warai" after a long time. We ordered Hormone-yaki, Kyoto Tempura-yaki, and Kujo Negi-yaki. They were all consistently delicious! When you pour lemon sauce over the Kyoto Tempura-yaki, it becomes light and you can eat as much as you want. It was delicious!

Our go-to okonomiyaki restaurant at home. It's the only restaurant that has remained open in the food court of the nearby Aeon Mall since its opening, so when people think of an okonomiyaki restaurant in this area, they think of this place. We had a delicious meal there again today.

In Ion Town, there is a chain restaurant called "Nishiki Warai". It was past lunchtime, so the restaurant was empty and peaceful. I recommend trying the "Half & Half" option, where you can enjoy two different flavors. Among them, the "Warai-yaki" is a must-try. Since it was lunchtime, I chose a drink, cola. My child ordered the rice set. The restaurant cooks the food and brings it to you, which is convenient. I had the "Warai-yaki & Kyoto-style pork okonomiyaki" for 900 yen plus tax and I was satisfied. Osaka is definitely the best place to enjoy okonomiyaki.笑

I first tried wara-yaki at Nishiki Warai inside Kyoto Daimaru almost 10 years ago. I really enjoyed the fluffy and tender texture of the wara-yaki, and I often brought my colleagues there to have a good time enjoying the delicious food. Nishiki Warai was a popular restaurant even back then, with long waits even in the evenings. When a branch opened near me, I was excited to visit. However, the wara-yaki at the branch was different from the one at the main store. The main store's wara-yaki had a wonderful fluffy and tender texture, but the branch's version varied in quality, sometimes being undercooked or too firm. I wasn't completely satisfied and stopped going for a while. Eventually, I found out that the branch had closed down. One day during lunchtime, I stumbled upon Nishiki Warai at Midorigaoka AEON. Feeling nostalgic, I decided to give it a try. They had a lunch set with yakisoba (pork) and a half-sized okonomiyaki of your choice. I ordered the sweet and spicy okonomiyaki set with wara-yaki as the half-sized okonomiyaki. The yakisoba arrived first, topped with seaweed, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger. It looked delicious! The yakisoba was decent, with plenty of pork belly, which was a pleasant surprise. The wara-yaki was quite small since it was a half-size, about 12-13 cm in diameter. It didn't compare to the main store's wara-yaki, but for 880 yen (excluding tax) for both dishes, it was a good deal. If you're still hungry, you can add a rice set! Overall, I prefer the quality of the wara-yaki from the old main store. Thank you for the meal.

I went with a friend to a nearby Aeon Mall and stopped by this place. It's a restaurant in the mall with a wide variety of options, around 100 dishes. They have table seating as well as tatami seating, so it's great for families or friends. The prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good. We ordered negiyaki, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba. The yakisoba had seafood in it, which was a nice touch. You can add bonito flakes, seaweed, or spicy mayo to your dish. Personally, I thought the yakisoba was the best. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

In the Green Hill Aeon Mall, there is a restaurant called Kinwara. Whenever my family wants okonomiyaki, we usually come here. It's a favorite spot for my wife and our little one. They have a variety of side dishes, so you can also enjoy drinks here. Their specialty is the "Warai-yaki," a modern-style okonomiyaki with plenty of eggs and yam in a fluffy batter. They finish it off for you, but there are sauces and condiments on the table so you can customize it to your liking. Adding plenty of shichimi spice makes it really delicious. The yakisoba here is recommended with sauce. You can choose between thick or thin noodles, but I prefer the chewy thick noodles. You can also get a large portion for an extra 150 yen. The crunchy cabbage is sweet and tasty. Since it's a family-friendly place, you'll mostly see families dining here. The fact that it's completely non-smoking in the evenings is a big plus.

It was my first time having okonomiyaki in Kansai in a while. The "Buta Modern" had thick noodles with plenty of them, and it was just right. The pork wasn't cooked too crispy, leaving a nice sweetness to it. The sauce was sweet and savory. The "Mix Yaki" had fluffy flour and fresh ingredients. The key is to not press too hard and cook it gently. Even on weekdays, it can get quite busy in the evening, but the staff are energetic and efficient, so the wait is not too long.

I use this restaurant a few times a month, usually on Friday nights. The menu changes regularly, but I often order the classic cabbage, cucumber, and Kyoto-style okonomiyaki with squid tempura. I moved to Osaka and started craving okonomiyaki, so I randomly tried this place without high expectations, but I got hooked on the Kyoto-style okonomiyaki and now I come here regularly. The atmosphere is very casual, as it's located inside a shopping mall. Not suitable for a date, as it's often crowded with families and not very cozy. The Kyoto-style okonomiyaki is unique, with squid tempura inside and a light taste with lemon soy sauce instead of the usual sauce. It may not be for everyone due to the generous amount of squid tempura. I always order the cabbage appetizer, which comes with a dip of miso and mayonnaise, to munch on while waiting for the okonomiyaki. The seasonal salad options keep things fresh and interesting every time I visit, so I never get bored. The kimchi fried rice, while not on the menu now, was delicious. Even if you're not a fan of okonomiyaki, there are teppanyaki options available for a variety of tastes. Today, I ordered one piece of Kyoto-style okonomiyaki and a variety of appetizers: Kyoto-style fried tofu with green onions, spicy miso grilled hormone, chicken skin with ponzu sauce, cabbage appetizer, addictive cucumber, and cheese omelette. With drinks, the total bill came to around 5000 yen for two people, which is quite cost-effective.

This time, I went to the okonomiyaki restaurant "Nishiki Warai" in Toyonaka. I ordered the Warai-yaki and Kyoto Ten-yaki. To be honest, I have visited other stores in the chain a few times before, and I think there is not much difference in taste between the stores. The side menu items I have ordered at other stores were disappointing, but these two dishes were quite delicious! Both the Warai-yaki and Kyoto Ten-yaki are a bit different from regular okonomiyaki and quite interesting. The Warai-yaki is fluffy as the name suggests, with soba noodles inside. It doesn't have as much volume as the Modan-yaki, and it's not powdery either. It feels like soba noodles are added to the yamaimo-yaki. It's delicious without being too overwhelming. The Kyoto Ten-yaki has plenty of radish sprouts on top of the okonomiyaki, with mayonnaise drizzled over it. You can also add lemon soy sauce according to your preference. It's light and very easy to eat, and quite delicious! Both dishes go well with beer and are flavors that you might crave occasionally. The prices are a bit high for okonomiyaki, around 1500 yen per person.

Despite arriving at a random time of 2pm, the restaurant was crowded. We shared okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and Kyoto tempura. The yakisoba was average, while the Kyoto tempura had a lot of leeks and cabbage. The taste was normal. The okonomiyaki was delicious! It was fluffy and thick, yet evenly cooked all the way through. There were different varieties available, like cheese-filled, which I would like to try next time. They also had a good selection of sweet, spicy sauces, vinegar, and chili peppers, although the bottles were a bit sticky.

At the Green Hill Aeon in Toyonaka, there is a restaurant called "Warai" which originates from Kyoto. We ordered the Warai Cheese Yaki for ¥880, which was delicious and had a fluffy texture similar to omusoba. We also tried the Buta Tamago for ¥580, which had a firm dough that Kansai people love. I would like to try the Sujinegi Yaki for ¥880 and the Mixed Yaki Soba for ¥800 next time. Cheers with a draft beer!

One word: When I returned to Osaka, I went with my family near my parents' house.
Food Taste: It had been a while since I had Osaka-style okonomiyaki, and it was delicious. At first, I was worried because it had a strong chain restaurant smell, but it turned out to be much tastier than I expected.
Price: Affordable!
Service: The restaurant was clean, and the staff were efficient. I noticed that they properly stored the condiments in the fridge after closing, which showed their attention to detail.
Atmosphere: The only downside was that the restroom was outside the restaurant. Other than that, I would rate it at least a 4 overall.
Drinks: I had a beer, which was average.
Likelihood to revisit: If I return to Osaka, I might go back.

We visited as a family. We were seated in a tatami room after a short wait, with tables mostly for four people placed next to each other. Everyone except for my niece, who has an egg allergy, chose their favorite okonomiyaki and ordered side dishes like German potatoes, salted tongue, grilled hormone, and grilled chicken wings. The staff informed us that the okonomiyaki would take some time, but the side dishes arrived one after another quickly, so we didn't feel like we were waiting for the okonomiyaki. The taste of everything exceeded our expectations. Honestly, we weren't expecting much, so we were pleasantly surprised. The side dishes came in small iron pots and were placed directly on the table's iron plate, so they stayed hot until the end. There were quite a variety of side dishes, so my niece, who couldn't eat okonomiyaki due to her egg allergy, was also satisfied. This place has become a candidate for a repeat visit with my family.

I stopped by the "Warai" restaurant located in the Ion shopping mall in Toyonaka Midorigaoka while shopping. I parked my car in the Ion parking lot (free) and entered the store. I ordered the Warai-yaki (819 yen) and the traditional negi-yaki with beef tendon (945 yen). First, the Warai-yaki. It looks like a thin okonomiyaki. In one word, it was incredibly fluffy modanyaki. The fluffy dough contains cabbage, pork, soft noodles, and small pieces of squid. The sauce and mayonnaise complement each other well. It's delicious. Although I could hardly feel the texture of the noodles, the squid adds a nice accent. Next, the negi-yaki. I chose soy sauce for the sauce, but it was still a bit bland, so I added more soy sauce. This one had a completely different texture, with a solid lump feeling. The dough and cabbage are firm. Also, the soy sauce flavor on the surface didn't penetrate the dough, so the harmonious combination of leeks and soy sauce was somewhat lacking. As for the ratings: Food: 3.0 points. I'll try something other than the negi-yaki next time. The Warai-yaki was delicious. Service: 3.0 points. They have a variety of sweet and spicy sauces, mayonnaise, soy sauce, and ponzu available. The teppanyaki menu is extensive. Atmosphere: 3.0 points. There are many lively young staff members, and the restaurant is clean and beautiful. Value for money: 3.0 points. It's average. Overall: 3.0 points. It ended up being an average score. I wish there was something outstanding about this place. (Please note) The above ratings are purely my personal opinions and feelings towards the restaurant.

I tried "Kari Kari Kyoto Tempura Okonomiyaki" for the first time, which doesn't need sauce. It was topped with daikon radish sprouts like sauce, and it was a perfect match!!! The crispy outer layer of the batter was light and crunchy. I could eat many of these. I was also surprised by the "Warai Yaki," which was incredibly fluffy. It was so delicious that I almost doubted if it was really okonomiyaki. The "Nishiki Warai" was also a truly impressive okonomiyaki.
