I have ordered from Uber a few times before, but this was my first time dining in. I placed my order on the first floor and ate on the second floor. The first floor was very crowded and chaotic. I ordered the normal pork tamago and mini Okinawa soba. I really wanted to order an Orion beer, but I resisted. The Okinawa soba was not good, the noodles were not tasty. As someone who loves Okinawan cuisine, I was a bit disappointed. The rice for the pork tamago was freshly made and served warm. The male manager was friendly, but the other staff members had a bit of an unfriendly attitude. Overall, Uber drivers were constantly picking up orders. It seems like this place is popular for takeout and delivery.

On the return Shinkansen from my trip to Hakata, I really wanted to eat Potama as a snack, so I stopped by here. Even though I wasn't hungry at all after dinner, I thought to myself, if I don't buy it here, where else would I get it! So my friend and I ended up buying five of them, making an excuse that we could also have them for breakfast the next day. As expected, Potama is delicious. Each onigiri was tasty. I envy those who can easily buy them whenever they want. The atmosphere of the shop was also wonderful.

I missed lunch before my errands and started feeling a bit hungry. I searched around and found a branch of a shop near Kushida Shrine in Akasaka! I don't usually pass by this street in Akasaka. I visited the shop and used the eat-in area on the second floor. There is a tree in the middle! Lots of greenery. I ordered the Akasaka branch limited item, which is tsukune with island tofu. The weather was bad and chilly, so I wanted something soupy and also got a mini Okinawa soba. The pork and egg rice ball was quite filling. The crunchy texture of white leeks, tsukune, egg, and spam was enjoyable. The natural atmosphere inside the shop was calming. There were few customers at that time, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal. I will visit again. ❤️

I have purchased from other stores before, but this was my first time at the Akasaka store. They had limited edition menu items, so I chose both of them this time! I tried the chicken tsukune with island tofu and the burdock tempura, both of which were exclusive to the Akasaka store. The chicken tsukune with island tofu was delicious with its sweet and savory soy sauce, crunchy green onions, and fluffy tofu hamburger. The burdock tempura was crispy and reminded me of the burdock tempura udon from Hakata, with plenty of burdock for a satisfying meal.

It is recommended to stop by this place while taking a walk in Maizuru Park, the Po-tama and Spam onigiri here. The owner was impressed by the deliciousness of the original Okinawan Spam onigiri and wanted people outside of Okinawa to know about it, so they started this shop. You order and the kitchen staff prepares it, but there are many staff members so the waiting time is not long. I ordered a mini Okinawan soba and a basic Po-tama for takeout. The mini cup noodle-sized Okinawan soba is just the right size and complements the main Po-tama. The Po-tama is a square "onigirazu" style with Spam and unsweetened omelette sandwiched in it. I prefer to enjoy it in a healthy way in the morning to afternoon rather than at night. I realized that Spam is delicious when eaten like this, and the salty taste makes me crave it occasionally. I don't want this shop to disappear, so I want to contribute by regularly getting takeout.

I was curious about this shop. It seems to be a shop that mainly offers takeout, but I decided to dine in for the purpose of investigating the store. When dining in, you order at the counter on the first floor, wait on the bench on the first floor until your order is ready, and then take it up to the second floor. I ordered the Mentaiko Mayo for 440 yen and the Ebi Taru for 600 yen. The total came to over 1,000 yen, but each item is large so one might be enough even for men. The Mentaiko Mayo is simple but the taste balance is good, and for 440 yen, it seemed cheap. The Ebi Taru has an amazing volume. Perhaps because the fillings are large, there seems to be more rice than the Mentaiko Mayo. The fried shrimp is crispy and delicious. I finished both dishes in no time. You can pay with various electronic and prepaid money methods, including PayPay.

In Fukuoka, there is a Spam rice ball specialty store called "Pota Tamagawa" that has three locations. I love the rice balls from this place. Whenever I go to Okinawa, I always end up eating there haha. The limited menu item at the Akasaka store, "Pork belly and green onion roll," is seriously delicious, so be sure to try it!

Okinawa specialty "Spam Onigiri" can be found not only at Kushida Shrine but also in Akasaka (Fukuoka Prefecture). I used it as a substitute for breakfast. After ordering and paying, I waited on the first floor until it was ready. There is an eat-in space on the second floor with a nice open atmosphere, but the stairs are quite steep, making it difficult to carry bags and items. It would be helpful if they could deliver the items to the second floor once they are ready. The menu caught my eye, and I briefly considered the "Gobo Tempura," but I wondered if it would go well with Spam. I ordered the Mentaiko Mayo (380 yen) and Sanpin Tea with Shikuwasa (300 yen). The total was 680 yen, but I received a set discount, making it 630 yen. The Mentaiko Mayo is essentially an "onigirazu" with Spam, Mentaiko Mayo, and tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) sandwiched between rice and seaweed. The combination of Spam, Mentaiko Mayo, and tamagoyaki was surprisingly delicious. When it comes to Okinawa, Shikuwasa is a must. It has a refreshing taste that I enjoyed. There was a lot, so I took half of it home. The cool atmosphere was a nice break.

【Okinawa's famous restaurant in Fukuoka】#Must-eat when in Okinawa#I finally visited the Fukuoka branch of the famous restaurant "Pōtama," known for its delicious dishes. I knew they had a branch in Fukuoka, but it took me a while to visit. The menu has so many options, it was hard to choose. The burdock tempura is exclusive to this branch. Burdock tempura, mentaiko, shrimp fry... I ate too much, but I was so happy, everything was delicious. I think it would be great to get takeout on a day off and enjoy it while out and about. I will definitely visit again.

I felt like eating rice and asked my colleague for recommendations. They mentioned that there is a place called "Pota-tama" that has been popping up recently. I thought, "Ah, I see, that's a good idea." The staff there were friendly, and I placed my order and waited on the second floor. The second floor seemed like a nice place to relax. I wonder if it's healthier than a hamburger? It was a nice change of pace.

(2022.03.14) In 2014, a specialty shop for Okinawa's famous B-class gourmet dish, "Pork Tamago," was born near Kokusai Street, the most popular tourist spot in Okinawa. With the opening of their 4th store in Fukuoka city, it seemed like they were considering expanding nationwide. Surprisingly, in 2020, they even opened a store in Hawaii. Last October, they opened their 2nd store in Fukuoka, and I decided to visit their Akasaka store to uncover the secret behind their success. The store is not very noticeable, located in a corner of a street between Taisho Street and Maizuru Park, but it exudes a sense of openness and sophistication with its glass doors and high ceilings on the first floor. As I went up to the second floor where the seating area is, I saw tables surrounded by large potted plants, creating a cozy oasis for female customers. The ordering system is fast-food style, where you order at the counter integrated with the kitchen. I chose the simple "Pork Tamago" from the 6 Spam onigiri options categorized under "Standard." The onigiri is made to order, so it's served warm, and the shiny, plump rice with a crispy nori topping was delicious. I also ordered the "Mini Okinawa Soba" as a side, but the noodles had a chewy texture rather than the usual bouncy texture of Okinawa soba, and the soup tasted instant-like, which I didn't prefer. The seating area was not crowded, but my receipt with the number 21 indicated that there were many takeout customers.

Akasaka "Pōtama" - Okinawa vibes in Akasaka... I discovered a new Okinawan restaurant called "Pōtama" in the back streets of Akasaka, along the Taisho Street. It seems that this is the second branch after the one near Kushida Shrine. They have unique menu items that you can only find here. The first floor has the kitchen and cashier, while the second floor has a beautiful cafe space. I decided to immerse myself in the Okinawan atmosphere and ordered an Orion beer. And of course, I had to try their signature dish that you can only find here - the chicken tsukune with island tofu. It was a bit pricey at 550 yen, but it was worth it for the fluffy texture and unique flavor. Pōtama is best enjoyed when the food is freshly made. This place might be a hidden gem after all.

I rented a car and decided to eat in the car as there were no other customers in the morning. The road was quiet with little traffic and foot traffic, which made me wonder how this place stays in business. The menu had a variety of options, and I was torn between the regular spam onigiri, which I could imagine the taste of, and the special one. I chose the special one, which seemed to be a limited edition item. They started making it after I placed my order, so I was able to enjoy a freshly made onigiri, but it took 8 minutes to be ready, which might be too long for a busy morning or a limited lunch break. Also, it was expensive at 650 yen for a pork belly and green onion roll. I could have bought a bento box for that price! Despite my complaints, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, the pork belly and green onion roll was difficult to eat and lacked flavor, just tasting like plain green onions. It seemed like there were many areas for improvement in this product. The chicken meatball with island tofu was juicy, but I didn't see the benefit of having tofu in it. In the end, I thought I should have just played it safe and bought the regular onigiri. The shop and packaging were cute, and the staff were polite.

There is a specialty store for Spam onigiri in Okinawa called Po-tama. In Fukuoka, it can be found near the airport and at the entrance of Kushida Shrine, but a new store has opened near Akasaka Station! This information comes from Hijirin, who is originally from Okinawa (HKT 5th generation, Sei Kawahira). On this day, after watching Kyoka's live performance (former HKT 1st generation, Kyoka Yasubei) in Akasaka, I decided to go see her live appearance on a radio show at FM Karatsu. Since I still had time, I decided to have lunch at Po-tama, as I couldn't eat at the live venue. The first floor is the cash register, and there is an eat-in area on the second floor. I tried the Akasaka store's limited item, chicken tsukune. It had thick chicken tsukune, tamagoyaki, and of course pork (Spam), which was quite filling and perfect for a late lunch. I would like to try the goya tempura and other items next time. After this, I had a croffle in Karatsu, then returned to Fukuoka where I had pizza delivered and ate a lot throughout the day. Located about a 2-minute walk from Fukuoka Akasaka Station, this is a specialty store for pork and egg onigiri, which can be considered a part of Okinawan food culture. There are also stores in Kushida Omotesando and Momochi Beach in Fukuoka. The store is located on a small street with glass windows. There is an eat-in space on the second floor, where you can relax surrounded by trees. This time, I purchased the chicken tsukune with island tofu. This product is only available in stores, and there are also pork belly negima, keema curry, and seared mentaiko. It has a good portion size, although it feels smaller than when I purchased it at Kushida Omotesando before. It mixes Okinawan island tofu into the Fukuoka-style yakitori shop staple tsukune. It doesn't come with sauce, but the rich seasoning paired well with the rice.

Portama's Akasaka branch. You can also order delivery through the Wolt app. The design is very cute and the sign is easy to spot when passing by. The unique feature is that you can customize the sub menu. When you want to eat Okinawan food, you can mix and match, which is highly recommended. You can enjoy dishes like Goya Champuru, Okinawa Soba, and Mimigar. The Okinawa Soba has a compact size, so when you eat it with a pork onigiri set, you'll feel like you're eating an Okinawan meal. Highly recommended!

I decided to get takeout for the first time in a while to bring to a flower viewing party. I chose the mentaiko mayo pasta. It was satisfyingly filling and I appreciated that it wasn't messy to eat. The combination of spam and mentaiko mayo was a nice touch. Personally, I also enjoyed the refreshing taste of the umeboshi paste.
