Ume no Hana is a fantastic Japanese kaiseki restaurant that specializes in dishes made with yuba (tofu skin) and tofu. The food is healthy, delicious, and very popular among women. The wagyu shabu-shabu was also amazing! #Japanese cuisine #Kaiseki #Yuba and tofu restaurant #Ume no Hana #Kyoto cuisine #Tofu dishes #Yuba dishes

First, I couldn't find the building and got lost. However, as soon as I left the hustle and bustle of Umeda, there were fewer people, so it might be a hidden gem. You can see the north side of Umeda and the Hankyu train running from the location. I ordered the most orthodox dish, Fukufuku-zen. I love Fukufuku tofu. The freshly made, soft tofu without any strong flavor is very delicious. I had it with Mapo tofu sauce and seasonal sauce. Good value for money.

There is a shop on the 17th floor of Hankyu 17th Street at Umeda Station! I made a reservation and when I arrived after 12 o'clock, it was almost full. Even on weekdays, there were many customers, so I thought it was a popular shop. I had reserved the Ume Lunch, and they also gave me tofu shumai. The lunch cost 2,400 yen (including tax). First, there was tofu salad, simmered okara, chawanmushi, fried yuba and nama-fu, lotus root manju, and an additional tofu shumai with crab meat. There was also cherry shrimp and takenoko rice, yuba soup, and pickles. For dessert, there was ice cream. Every dish was incredibly delicious. I was very satisfied!

Great cost performance lunch! After finishing my night shift, I wanted to have a delicious and comforting lunch, so my wonderful boss's mom took me out to eat. I chose a lunch course with gentle tofu flavors and some hearty Wagyu beef shabu-shabu, knowing that I love meat. It really hit the spot and satisfied my cravings. The taste and service were excellent. I will definitely visit again! ❤️❤️

I visited the restaurant in September 2022 for lunch. It is located in Hankyu Grand Building 17. I ordered the limited-time Matsutake Mushroom Course for 6000 yen. The course included simmered Matsutake mushrooms, Matsutake mushroom steamed in a pot, tofu skin sashimi with Matsutake mushrooms, deep-fried blowfish tofu with Matsutake mushroom sauce, Matsutake mushroom tempura, teppanyaki Matsutake mushrooms, Matsutake mushroom rice, tofu skin soup, and dessert. During your birthday month, you can upgrade to a seasonal parfait for free. Everything was delicious, but the best was the teppanyaki Matsutake mushrooms. You get to grill them yourself and enjoy the wonderful aroma. I was happy to enjoy a chestnut parfait as a birthday celebration. Also, during the birthday month, you receive 500 yen worth of points, and I used that along with 580 dPoints, so the total cost was 4920 yen. It's quite reasonable. I highly recommend it.

I used it for lunch. I had the Saicolor Lunch, which had a lot of volume and each dish looked very delicious as I opened the lid. Among them, the Yuba Tempura and Gokoku Tofu were especially delicious, so I bought them on my way home. It is located on the 17th floor of Hankyu Terminal Building, so it is directly connected from Hankyu Umeda Station, making it easy for elderly people to visit.

I received a meal set for 2750 yen. The service was attentive and the explanations were thorough, which made me feel at ease. I noticed that there were many elderly customers. The fresh gluten was chewy and well seasoned, very delicious. The dumplings and hot tofu were also tasty, and although there were many dishes, I was satisfied without feeling too full. I usually get indigestion quickly, but it didn't happen this time. I was impressed by how well everything was prepared, even though it's a chain restaurant. The tables were spaced out well, so I didn't have to worry about overhearing other people's conversations and had a pleasant time.

I visited the restaurant for lunch in April 2021. It is located right near Hankyu Umeda Station, on Hankyu 18th Street. Despite the state of emergency, the restaurant was open, so I decided to go. Even without a reservation, I was seated in a private room last time. This time, I was in a large hall with only one other customer, and they had a humidifier for COVID-19 prevention. I ordered the Spring Beauty set menu for 3,300 yen, which is a spring special. As a member of the Plum Blossom Club, I had a free voucher for crab dumplings, so I used that too. I also added the Spring special clam steamed in a pot for 500 yen. The meal was like a kaiseki course, with appetizers, steamed egg custard, tofu dumplings, tofu and shrimp paste with cherry blossom, fried yuba, simmered gluten, cabbage and clam sauce for tofu, clear soup with yuba, mixed rice, and seasonal kudzu mochi. Everything was delicious and filling. They also brought out the free crab dumplings and the additional clam steamed in a pot. The crab dumplings had the usual great taste. The steamed clam was also tasty, but the pot handle was wobbly, making it hard to serve. They replaced it with a new one, but they should reconsider all their pot handles. I paid a total of 3,300 yen using the 500 points I received as a birthday month gift for being a Plum Blossom Club member. And I earned more points again. It's such a great deal! I highly recommend it.

I found out that this restaurant opened about 2 years ago. I unknowingly made a reservation and ended up going to Nishi-Umeda instead. (laughs) When I realized something was off, I looked it up and found out it was completely different. What a big blunder. I had the plum blossom meal and asked them to change the yudofu to fukufuku tofu. I remember they used to make hikiage yuba before making fukufuku tofu in the past, but this time they only made fukufuku tofu. I wonder if something changed. Everything was delicious. I love tofu, so I really want to go more often, but the menu here doesn't change much, so I can't go frequently. If they had more monthly specials or tried new things, I would go every month.

It was a late lunch, so the dining hall was quiet with few customers. I had the plum lunch set, which included fresh wheat gluten dengaku, yuba tempura, and freshly made dishes are indeed delicious. The Meio Tofu was rich and chewy. The chawanmushi, lotus root manju with red bean paste, and miso soup were a bit too spicy for my taste. The soy milk ice cream was also delicious. I left feeling full and satisfied. I wanted to try the Meio Tofu, fresh wheat gluten, and soy milk ice cream parfait with an additional charge for dessert substitution, but I was too full to fit it in. What a shame.

I was in a harmonious mood, so I went to Ume no Hana for the first time in a while. I chose the seasonal Matsutake mushroom rice course. The lunch menu included:
- Sesame tofu with walnut miso
- Simmered autumn udo plant
- Iburi Gakko (smoked pickles) and vegetable salad
- Chawanmushi with burdock root sauce
- Tofu salad
- Steamed silver salmon and vegetables
- Hiryu head stew with mushroom sauce
- Yuba (tofu skin) soup
- Matsutake mushroom rice
- Pickles
- Dessert
I leisurely and slowly enjoyed the delicious meal. I wanted to eat more yuba. I forgot to take a photo of the dessert. It was almond jelly. The lunchtime is bustling with sophisticated women.

I visited the restaurant for lunch in September 2020. It is located inside Hankyu 17th Street, just a short walk from Hankyu Umeda Station. They do not offer S points. I ordered the Ume Lunch for 2150 yen and added the Matsutake Steamed in a Pot for 500 yen. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, with private rooms available. The Ume Lunch included tofu salad, tofu, chawanmushi, nama-fu dengaku, yuba tempura, seasonal mixed rice, matsutake steamed in a pot, and dessert. Everything was healthy and delicious. It's great that you get the Matsutake Steamed in a Pot for an additional 500 yen with the lunch. As a birthday benefit, if you visit during your birthday month, you receive 500 Ume Points. These points are valid for one year, and I used the 500 points I received last year during my birthday month, so the total cost was 2150 yen. Additionally, I received another 500 points as a birthday month benefit this year. It's a great deal. The restaurant has complete private rooms, so they are thorough with their infection prevention measures. I highly recommend it.

Everyday I use Hankyu train but usually forget about the existence of Hankyu Terminal Building and 17th Street. This was my first time going inside. Next to the register, there was a stock price display. The meal consisted of dishes like shumai that I have bought at Hankyu Department Store, all based on tofu. The set menu included a steamed dish with matsutake mushrooms for 509 yen. Unfortunately, they were out of sweetfish. The lunch set included dishes like okara tea and steamed dish with matsutake mushrooms.

I visited on a weekday. Today's appetizer was tofu from Mineoka, the simmered dish was lotus root manju, and the dessert was black honey and soy milk ice cream with black sesame. For the main dish, I chose the seasonal oyster rice, eel seiro, or Japanese-style gratin, and I went with the seasonal oyster rice. The oysters were small but plentiful, and I was satisfied. Each tofu dish was delicious, and the variety was just right, so I highly recommend the Ume Lunch. Despite being a weekday, the restaurant was bustling with female customers. Located on the 17th floor, you can enjoy your meal while admiring the view of Umeda.

I visited a shiny new restaurant in Umeda because I heard they have new plum blossoms. I used to think the Fukushima branch was a bit inconvenient because it was a little far from the station, so I'm happy that it's now in Umeda (*´▽`*). It's located on the top floor of the Terminal Building in front of Kinokuniya, offering great views of Umeda. Even though it's on the 17th floor, I was surprised to see dragonflies flying around. I visited around 2:00 PM, so it was not crowded, allowing me to enjoy my meal leisurely. The Umeda branch has both calm private rooms and spacious halls, suitable for various occasions. I had the seasonal monthly lunch course, which featured various types of tofu in different dishes. The plum blossom dishes were light yet full of flavor from tofu and seasonal ingredients, making me feel happy throughout the meal. My favorite from the course was the "Yuba Manju with Mushroom Ankake." For 2600 yen, this casual lunch course offered a satisfying variety of dishes and deliciousness. Thank you for the delicious tofu meal (*^▽^*)

The Hanshin Tigers game was canceled due to rain, so my father-in-law, husband, and I ended up having a meal together. We visited Ume no Hana, a restaurant that my father-in-law frequents. Despite its chain store image, the entrance exuded a luxurious feel with white wood decor and staff dressed in kimonos. We were seated in a private room with a view of the high-rise buildings in Umeda. We started with plum wine on the rocks, zero plum on the rocks, and medium-sized draft beer for a toast. For food, we all opted for the "Seasonal Beauty" course. The standout dish was fried tofu with lemon juice, similar to thick fried tofu, and simmered tofu with sauce reminiscent of mapo tofu. The bonito tataki was also delicious. We added plum wine and "Den Monogatari" sake to our drinks. Engrossed in conversation, we ended up staying for over 3 hours before being reminded it was time to leave. The best part about the tofu kaiseki meal was that despite eating a lot, I only gained 100g when I weighed myself later. I would love to come back again.

Ume no Hana - a restaurant specializing in yuba and tofu - was the venue for a year-end gathering and celebration of a special day, as invited by a friend. The visit took place on the evening of December 30th, located on the 17th floor of the Hankyu Terminal Building. The restaurant had a traditional Japanese aesthetic, with various rooms including private tatami rooms. The atmosphere was perfect for enjoying Japanese cuisine in a serene setting, ideal for commemorating special occasions. The staff, dressed in kimonos, provided courteous service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant's emphasis on safety and health measures was evident, allowing guests to dine comfortably. The menu featured healthy dishes, with a focus on tofu and yuba, attracting a predominantly female and elderly clientele. The elaborate meal, served according to a special menu, included exquisite dishes presented in beautiful tableware, such as crane and turtle motifs for auspicious symbolism. Each meticulously prepared dish, from crispy tempura to lotus root dumplings with crab sauce, was a delight to savor. The meal concluded with a delicious dessert of kinako ice cream. Before dining, a prayer of gratitude was offered, acknowledging the efforts of the chefs and the blessings received. Despite the challenges of the past year, the gathering provided a moment of luxury and appreciation, ending the year on a grateful note.

It's been a while since I saw plum blossoms. I visited a shop in Hankyu 17th Street, and the view was truly amazing. The food tasted even better. Tofu dishes are really delicious, thank you for the meal.

We visited with the owner, a mother in her 80s, a daughter and son-in-law, and a son. We were surprised when the mother, just like us, finished her meal without leaving anything and said it was delicious. The food wasn't greasy, but also not bland, and had a taste that would be liked by everyone. We felt like coming back to the restaurant again.

I visited during lunchtime. It was a weekday and a bit late, so it wasn't crowded. As always, the food was delicious. I especially like the yuba tofu. I would like to visit this restaurant again.
