It's a 5-minute walk from Itabashi Station, a 5-minute walk from Shimo-Itabashi Station, and a 5-minute walk from Shin-Itabashi Station at "Shinkiro." This time we ordered a course. The ordered items (☆ indicates a particularly favorite menu) included: ☆ Dried tofu with top-grade Kyoto sansho pepper ☆ Pan-fried buns ☆ White fish and Chinese sansho pepper soup ☆ Grilled beef skewers ☆ Jellyfish parfait ☆ Fried eggplant ☆ Tan-tan noodles without soup ☆ Uyghur fried rice First, the dried tofu with top-grade Kyoto sansho pepper was amazing from the start. The scent of the sansho pepper was very nice and abundant. It was generously sprinkled, but not overwhelmingly spicy. Delicious. The pan-fried buns were a Shanghai specialty. It was similar to a pan-fried soup dumpling. The pepper was strong, and the surface was crispy and delicious. The white fish and Chinese sansho pepper soup had an irresistible spicy flavor. The beef skewers had a complex flavor reminiscent of lamb. The mustard oil was a decisive factor. The jellyfish parfait had a unique taste with grilled jellyfish and tofu-like texture in a white dressing with strawberries. A new sensation that can only be experienced here. The fried eggplant had an amazing aftertaste of sansho oil. It was like a magical spice blend. The tan-tan noodles without soup were the real deal. It could also go well with harissa. Oh, it's addictive. The Uyghur fried rice had a dry spicy flavor with a lingering heat. The cumin and spiciness were irresistible. I loved everything, not picking favorites! We had a great time chatting while enjoying the Spanish wine that the organizer had prepared.

Wednesday at 7:00 pm. We made a reservation for 4 people and visited the restaurant. We sat in a raised tatami area with a low table. We were told not to touch the table because it could easily tip over. The toilet was Japanese-style. The restaurant typically only takes one reservation per day for a group of 4, and it seems like only selected regular customers can make reservations. There are various rules, but they may vary depending on the mood of the organizer. When I visited, the rule was to only bring wine and soft drinks. Wine can be purchased at a nearby liquor store for a discounted price. (I mistakenly brought beer and sour drinks, which I couldn't consume and had to take back home.) There is a 3,000 yen fine for breaking a glass. One of the guests couldn't drink wine at all, and it was awkward as he was repeatedly told, "This is a place for wine drinkers." If a woman asks, bottled beer can be served. The "Chef's Choice Course" for 9,000 yen included Ebisu bottled beer, white wine, red wine, dried tofu, a dish with a unique spice flavor, salted potato and egg, grilled pork harami skewers, fried food, spicy noodles, and numbing spicy rice with numbing oil. The owner engages in conversation with the female guests, so it's not a place for rowdy groups. It's natural to interact with the owner since it's a one reservation per day policy. The owner is skilled at handling everything alone, and if you get along well, it's a good place to visit. The food was delicious, and the owner even customized a dish for me based on my preference for numbing flavors. However, I was not aware of the rules and atmosphere beforehand, so as someone with social anxiety, I found the experience quite tiring. The total bill was 9,000 yen, which included drinks, but I'm not sure if that was the standard price or just for that day. Thank you for the meal!

It was delicious again this time! One dish is not included in the post at the owner's request. But it's hot in midsummer. I want to visit during a cooler season next time. It's not too spicy, but the spices warm up the body, so I want to visit in spring, autumn, or winter. In summer, a portable fan might be necessary (^◇^;) I wanted to finish the last spicy soup, but maybe it was because I had two bowls of rice cakes, I couldn't finish it (´;ω;`) The amount was definitely more than last time!!! For drinks, the organizer will bring wine from a nearby liquor store! Four bottles for four people might have been a bit too much. We got pretty drunk last time, so maybe two bottles for four people would be enough. Just a little shortage is good!

I visited "Shinkirou," located in Itabashi, northern Tokyo. It is selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in Tokyo by Tabelog for 2023. Congratulations! This is a reservation-only restaurant, not accepting new reservations or phone calls. Only regular customers can visit the restaurant by invitation. It is a Sichuan cuisine restaurant that accommodates up to 4 people per group. The access is convenient, just a 5-minute walk from JR Itabashi Station or Tobu Tojo Line Shimo-Itabashi Station. The restaurant is located in a vermilion-colored building down a side street from the main road. The entrance has several jars lined up, possibly indicating today's recommended dishes. Inside, a hand-written menu on a blackboard is displayed. The owner seems to regularly visit Sichuan. The menu I had today included steamed meat, steamed buns, potatoes with salted eggs, mapo tofu, boiled dumplings, fried eggplants, rice noodles, and beef dishes. The dishes were spicy and delicious, leaving a memorable taste. This Chinese restaurant makes you forget you are in Itabashi. I would love to revisit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This place seems to be visited by many chefs for learning. They use a lot of Chinese spices that I have never seen or heard of before. But don't worry, it's not too spicy! I'm okay with kimchi, but I found the authentic Sichuan mapo tofu too spicy for me, but it was okay! There was a sour and spicy soup that was quite spicy but delicious!! But spicy!!! It was really delicious! Even though they use Chinese spices, it was completely different from Sichuan cuisine! It's more like junk food? If you like the red coating of FamilyMart chicken, you'll probably like the food here! Bring your own chaser as they don't serve water. The organizer will probably provide wine. The taste is delicious! The portion is small, you can easily go for ramen as a second option! Before going here, you can eat two onigiri at the nearby Bon-Gu. I really want to go later, but it's not open yet. This kind of restaurant is quite rare. It's the first time for me, maybe? It's the kind of place where you want to wear mismatched socks. Washable pants or long skirts would be nice. The inside of the restaurant is small, with 4 people cramped in a small raised area. There's a slightly damp rice cracker cushion. Be careful when standing up by putting your hands on the round table (chabudai) as it might tip over! The legs of the chabudai are weak. The toilet is right next to the small raised area and it's a Japanese-style toilet, so women might be concerned. At that time, it's better to go to the nearby convenience store's toilet! Say you're going to buy a drink and it's okay to leave. Actually, buy a drink at that convenience store!

The dishes served here have flavors that I have never tasted in my life. The owner uses various spices that they personally source to create exquisite dishes. If you're not a fan of spices, it's better to avoid this place. Only one group can make a reservation per day, and you can't make a reservation over the phone, so you have to visit in person to book for the next visit.

I was invited and visited the restaurant. Everything seemed ordinary but the flavors were anything but ordinary. The sansho pepper was very effective, but it didn't linger, so I wanted to keep eating more. The last dish, called churros, was like transparent noodles made of maroni, so delicious. Oh, I want to go again soon. Oh, I was too busy eating to take any photos, so here is a picture of the interior.

Captain Hiroshi, who I always visit, does not accept new reservations at all. This rare restaurant, with a knowledgeable Chinese owner, accommodates only one group of four people per day. The spices here are seriously intense, maybe even containing aphrodisiacs. The etiquette is strict, but it's fun and everything is delicious. If you want to eat something specific next time you make a reservation, this is the place to go. If you receive an invitation, you should definitely check it out. #Mirage Location: Itabashi, Tokyo Reservation: Not available for new customers, only for regulars Address: 1-33-1, Itabashi, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo Phone: Not listed on food review websites Price: 8000 yen + 1000 yen (for bringing your own drinks) I post delicious food updates Instagram: https://instagram.com/aoyan_food Introduction: https://lit.link/aoyan I also organize gourmet gatherings and reservations for difficult-to-book restaurants. #Mirage Located in Itabashi, Mirage is a renowned spice restaurant where only one group of up to four people is accepted per day. The owner and chef, Captain Hiroshi, is a master of spices and only allows those he approves to dine at his restaurant. Each visit offers a different selection of spice-infused dishes, making for a unique dining experience every time. On this particular day, Captain Hiroshi was in high spirits. Mirage has a strict policy of allowing only up to four bottles of wine to be brought in. When asked how much alcohol the guests would like to drink for the toast, they all responded with "not much." Surprisingly, they finished one bottle each before the meal ended, prompting the group to consider returning for the next course to avoid being unable to make reservations in the future. The meal consisted of a greater number of dishes than usual, with the final dish of clam lemon fried rice leaving a lasting impression. Despite the various customs and rules at Mirage, the guests truly enjoyed the experience. The only challenge is that Captain Hiroshi still refuses to share his contact information, making future reservations a mystery. Reservations: Captain's Approval Price: ¥9,000 per person (including corkage fee) Location: 1-33-1 Itabashi, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo For more delicious food recommendations and updates, follow @aoyan_food on Instagram. I was invited to Shinkirou in Itabashi, a place I was curious about. It's a unique restaurant where only one group is allowed each day. You can bring your own drinks, with a limit of one bottle per person from a nearby wine shop. There is no fixed menu, the chef decides the course for the day. I was excited to try it out! Some of the dishes we had included mustard-flavored pickled vegetables, fried spring rolls with black vinegar sauce, lamb dumplings, stir-fried potatoes with salted eggs, spicy fried chicken wings, mapo eggplant, spicy fried rice, and yakisoba. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the stir-fried potatoes and yakisoba. The lamb dumplings were a new experience for me, and they paired perfectly with cilantro. The fried spring rolls with sweet vinegar sauce were also excellent. The mapo eggplant was so soft that it melted in your mouth. The spice level in the dishes was more numbing than spicy, making them easy to eat and flavorful. The fried rice and yakisoba had various condiments, with the Sichuan pepper oil being particularly delicious. The chef, who loves to chat, and the eclectic atmosphere of the restaurant make for a unique and enjoyable experience. If you're looking to try authentic Sichuan cuisine with a twist, this is the place to go! ❤️

Located in the middle of Shin-Itabashi, Shimo-Itabashi, and Itabashi, there is a deep Chinese restaurant in Itabashi, known as the "Itabashi of Itabashi." This restaurant can only accommodate one group per day and is known for its unique and quirky atmosphere. The interior is dimly lit with a small counter seat at the entrance and a raised tatami seating area in the back. The space is quite small with only one low table available for diners. Customers are allowed to bring their own wine as the only beverage option, and there are various rules to follow, such as not leaning on the low table to prevent it from breaking. The food served is highly spiced and unlike typical Chinese dishes, with dishes like "青椒麺" featuring a unique chewy texture. The Uyghur fried rice at the end was also a new and delicious experience. Despite the eccentric atmosphere and rules, the food was enjoyable and one-of-a-kind, making the dining experience quite memorable.

Second visit. The first time I was taken by a friend, and this time I made my own reservation for the first time. I was nervous as I invited my friend to go out. The first time was of course delicious, but the deliciousness of the second time was amazing. I became completely addicted. I want to go back soon... It's not a regular restaurant, so please follow the precautions on Tabelog. The owner really loves delicious food and creates delicious food that should be loved. Let's express our gratitude and respect by saying "delicious" and "thank you" out loud! Drinks are BYOB. If you need water or tea, please bring it yourself.

Can eggplants really taste this delicious?? This is the best eggplant I've ever had. Every dish I tried was delicious, even though they were ingredients that should be common in a home. The spices were just right and couldn't be replicated. The owner was also very friendly and we had a great time.

Everything I ate was delicious. When I first visited, I was surprised by how famous this place is! The dishes with spices were all too delicious. You can bring your own alcohol, so I brought wine, and even though it's Chinese food, it goes well with wine. It's a completely reservation-only restaurant with a limit of 4 people per day. You can only go if you know someone who has a reservation slot. The owner chef, Captain Hiroshi, is funny and cute, so it's a fun restaurant to visit.

I came to this restaurant for the first time because my friend invited me. I didn't know about it, so I checked it on Tabelog and my expectations were high. I arrived after a 5-minute walk from Itabashi Station, but couldn't find the restaurant at first. Eventually, I found it as the signboard's light was off. I wasn't sure if I should pull or push the door, but it turned out to be a pull. The retro-style interior of the restaurant had a Chinese or Taiwanese vibe. My friend seemed to be a regular customer, chatting with the master. The place was small and filled with various wines. You can bring your own wine for 1000 yen. The secret to the chewy dumplings was tapioca, according to the master. The potato dish with garlic and coriander was incredibly delicious. The master was entertaining to talk to, sharing stories about his experiences in Tokyo and Taiwan. The next dishes we tried were thick springy noodles and a meat pie with spicy seasoning. The master recommended an eggplant dish, which turned out to be amazing. The restaurant has a limited capacity and operates on reservations only, with one group at a time. I highly recommend trying the master's recommended dishes and bottled beer. It was the best dining experience I've had recently.

The other day, I was invited to Shinkiro and the organizer ordered shrimp fried rice for us. Other than that, we left it up to the master, Hiroshi. This time, there were many dishes that I had never tried before. I wonder how many dishes he has in his repertoire haha. The ankimo ramen, which he rarely makes because he bought a bunch of monkfish liver, was a rare treat. The shrimp fried rice was packed with so much shrimp that you couldn't see the rice! In between dishes, we chatted about Hiroshi's trip to Chengdu and B-class gourmet food. The dried shrimp potato salad, mustard oil pan-fried buns (sheng jian bao), shrimp tempura, water dumplings with green chili, beef harami skewers, white fish, eggplant Sichuan-style monkfish liver ramen, and shrimp fried rice were all delicious.

Private Kitchen in Itabashi. Reservations are limited to one group per day. You can enjoy exquisite Chinese cuisine while chatting with the famous chef. The menu for the day was as follows: - Potato Salad: A potato salad with dried shrimp. The mustard oil dressing pairs perfectly with the potatoes. - Pan-Fried Buns: Similar to pan-fried soup dumplings, these buns are filled with juicy meat and onions. - Crispy Fried Shrimp: Fried shrimp with a Chinese snack mix. The crispy texture of the snack mix adds a delicious touch. - Pickled Cabbage Dumplings: Pork and pickled cabbage dumplings with green chili and Nepalese Sichuan pepper. - Grilled Beef Harami Skewers: Grilled beef harami with a tangy and ethnic aroma, seasoned with salt and pepper. - Diced Fish with Pickled Chili: A dish of white fish (cod) with red chili, green onions, and paprika. The white fish is incredibly flavorful. - Fried Eggplant: A specialty of the restaurant. The eggplant melts in your mouth, especially when paired with Sichuan pepper oil. - Duck Liver Tsukemen: A rare menu item made with leftover duck liver. The duck liver dipping sauce adds a rich flavor to the hot noodles. - Shrimp Fried Rice: Fried rice filled with shrimp. The aroma of the shrimp is outstanding. It's a must-try for shrimp lovers. The lineup for the day was quite unique, and I left feeling fully satisfied. Thank you for the feast.
