At the bottom of Odakyu HALC, there is a sweets area in the basement next to the cosmetics section. I stopped by a shop called "Vitamer" that looked delicious with chocolates and cakes. I was worried that the chocolates might melt because it was too hot outside, so I bought some sablés that are okay at room temperature. They come in a small box with 6 pieces. The sablés in the lovely box look like they could be a nice little gift, but they're for home use (*^^*). There are two types of sablés. The hazelnut sablé has fine hazelnuts as an accent. It has a smooth chocolate sandwiched between them and the nuttiness of the hazelnuts. The milk sablé has a sweetness that makes you feel like you're eating rich chocolate. Although they are small enough to eat in two bites, they were luxurious enough to satisfy me! When it gets a little cooler, the chocolates will also be delicious and recommended (*^^*)

I used to often buy souvenirs at the sweets shop in Odakyu Shinjuku, but this time I bought takeout for myself. They were having a delicious Fukushima Fair with a limited edition peach gâteau made from Fukushima peaches, limited to 20 pieces per day. I also bought a Peach Tart. Both desserts feature peaches as the main ingredient, but I personally preferred the Peach Tart because the crispy tart crust paired well with the peaches.

As of May 13, 2023, it is located on the B1F of Odakyu HALC. It is tucked away at the back of the cosmetics section, so it might be a bit tough for people sensitive to the common scents of cosmetics. Every year, I rely on Belcic Gateau Chocolat for birthday celebrations. It's surprising that even though it's just one whole cake, it costs less than 2000 yen. With so much chocolate generously used, and a smooth, melting texture, I'm not sure if they use a lot of vegetable fats, but I'm surprised at this price. Among chocolate cakes in the department store basement, it is undoubtedly in the Top 3. If you're ever unsure about a souvenir, be sure to try Belcic Gateau Chocolat!

A friend who lives in a different area always buys a large amount of these before heading home and has them delivered to their home. I didn't realize they lived in Tokyo, as there are very few stores. I was worried when Odakyu Department Store closed, but luckily it reopened in the basement of Hulic. I received the following items:
- Petit Bag 5 pieces for 626 yen
These are Valentine's Day products, with cute small paper bags containing 5 pieces of Care de Vita Merle (2 Noir, 2 Lait, 1 Blanc). They also gave me a perfectly sized plastic bag. I enjoyed them at home with coffee. Noir is dark chocolate, Lait is milk chocolate, and Blanc is white chocolate, each with a rich flavor and very delicious. Truly from Vita Merle. By the way, I thought Lait was pronounced "Le," but it's actually pronounced "Lay." I will visit again.

On Christmas Eve in 2022, which falls on a Saturday, I went to Shinjuku to buy Christmas dishes and cakes. Since it was a holiday, my husband was on a business trip to Okinawa, leaving me alone for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I couldn't decide where to buy a cake, so I wandered around different shops in Shinjuku. Eventually, I found a cake shop in the basement of a building where I bought two cakes: Noel Framboise for Christmas Eve and Orange Noel for Christmas Day. The cakes were delicious and colorful, making my solo Christmas celebration enjoyable.

I purchased about 4 items, but they were just okay. The cakes mainly focused on mousse, with a monotonous texture. The matcha cake with a long, square shape had a dry and crumbly texture, lacking the desired moistness.
