This is a report from Hokkaido (lol) as I arrived in Obihiro, I wanted to enjoy some pork bowl, so I decided to visit "Butaichi Main Store"! I remember seeing a long line outside during lunchtime before, so this time I went right after they opened at 11 am. It was empty around 11 am to 11:40 am when I finished eating on this Saturday. The parking lot next to the restaurant could fit around 15 cars. I bought a meal ticket at the entrance, handed it to the staff, and took a seat. The restaurant had a lot of seating with counters and tables, and it's no wonder it's so popular with the long lines I've seen before! There were many autographed celebrity photos displayed inside. I ordered the "Special Mix Pork Bowl ¥1,200", "Potato Salad", "Tamagoyaki Topping", and "Dashi Soup for Pork Bowl Ochazuke ¥180". I can't remember the prices for the salad and tamagoyaki (lol), but the total came to around ¥1,600 to ¥1,700. The restroom was also clean! There was an indoor staircase leading to the second floor, but I asked the staff, and they said there was no seating on the second floor. The pork bowl arrived in about 5 minutes! It was overflowing with pork - a true taste of Obihiro! The savory aroma from the grilling was irresistible! The bowl itself was luxurious and had a high-class feel to it! I started with the potato salad first, then it was time to dig into the pork bowl! The combination of loin and belly in the special mix was extravagant! The meat was tender, and the fat was sweet and incredibly delicious! I enjoyed it with Hida Sansho pepper, black pepper, and shichimi togarashi before trying the homemade sauce - which was also delicious! Using the lid to mix some rice and three slices of pork was a great idea! Then, it was time for the Tamagoyaki topping! Breaking the yolk and capturing the perfect food shot (lol). I highly recommend moving the toppings to the lid for a better eating experience! The combination of the sauce and the Tamagoyaki was amazingly delicious! Finally, I ended the meal with the Ochazuke-style pork bowl! It was incredibly tasty! I finished it in no time and would love to try the pork fillet bowl next time! Thank you for the delicious meal.

When it comes to Obihiro, the first thing you think of eating is pork bowl, right? So, I searched and came here (although there was a pork bowl place near the station that caught my eye). It's about 2km from Obihiro Station. I arrived just before 19:00, there were about 6 people waiting in line, it took about 20 minutes to buy the meal ticket, and about 15 minutes from handing over the ticket to getting the pork bowl. There were more people waiting in line behind us than in front of us. We ordered the recommended "Special Mixed Pork Bowl for 1290 yen" (loin, belly). By the way, the special loin pork bowl is 1250 yen, and the special belly pork bowl is 1270 yen. The sweet sauce with a nice aroma, the belly is tender but thick with a great texture, and the marbling is delicious. The loin is a bit thinner compared to the belly, with less fat and a solid meaty flavor. It's clear why the mix is recommended, it's so good. There wasn't much sauce on the rice, so I used the extra sauce provided. It's nice to be able to adjust it yourself. Personally, I prefer my pork bowl with sansho pepper, so I sprinkled it lightly on the meat. I understand why people line up for this. Thank you for the meal.

In the morning, I worked hard to travel from Chitose and only had to wait for about 20 minutes before getting in! I enjoyed the texture of two types of meat in the special mixed pork bowl! It cost 1260 yen! The seasoning was just right for me! The location being the main store in Hokkaido also lifted my mood!

Last week, I went on a solo trip and made it as far as Otoko. I didn't go further south and left the enjoyment of Obihiro pork bowl for Part 2 of this week's solo trip. Today, I had to go without fail and I kept that in mind as I left my accommodation in Akkeshi. The opening time was 11 o'clock. I was aiming to arrive on time, but unfortunately, it was raining and the traffic was not moving smoothly, so I arrived about 20 minutes late. There was a parking lot across the street from the store, which was empty, so I parked there. The rain had stopped, so no problem there. When I entered the store, about 90% of the seats were already taken – that was a close call. I purchased a meal ticket and chose the regular size pork bowl, which seemed quite traditional. It cost 950 yen including tax. I was guided to a counter seat and handed over my meal ticket. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the dish was ready. The regular size didn't have a big volume impact, but the quality of the pork used was good. It was quite thick. The charcoal grilling was also nice, but I thought the sauce was a bit lacking. However, when I looked in front of me, there was an extra sauce available. It seems like this place serves the sauce in a smaller amount and leaves it to the customers. Well, that may be good too. If the sauce was poured on heavily from the start, it might have turned into a sauce bowl instead of a pork bowl. When I lifted the pork a bit, there wasn't much sauce soaking into the rice. The rice itself was tasty when I tried it on its own. This was good! So I added a little extra sauce and started eating. The pork wasn't too overwhelming, and because it was thick, the juiciness of the meat remained. The sauce was tasty, the meat was tasty, and even the rice was tasty – this was a pork bowl that hit all the right notes. It was worth stopping by.

When it comes to Obihiro, you think of pork bowl!! It was already past 2:30, and many shops were closing, but Bataichi seemed to still be open, so I went there! It was a late lunch, but the restaurant was quite crowded. I ordered the mixed pork bowl! As soon as I took a bite, it was delicious!! You can tell just by looking at it that it has a nice sear and a wonderfully fragrant aroma. Plus, there were plenty of slices! I finished it in no time!! Pork bowls in Obihiro tend to be on the pricier side, but with this amount for 1000 yen, it was a satisfying meal that was worth the price in terms of both taste and portion size!

While passing through Obihiro city, I was drawn to the yellow sign of Butaichi Obihiro main store and ended up going in. I have been working in Obihiro for a few days. For dinner today, I had pork bowl. There was a tent in front of the entrance, maybe to keep the people in line from getting wet in the rain? Takeout is also available. I entered the store and paid at the ticket machine. I ordered the Special Mix Pork Bowl (loin, belly) for 1260 yen, which came with miso soup and pickles. It wasn't crowded, so I got my order in less than 10 minutes. The meat. Even though it was a regular size, it was a mountain of meat. Worth the price. The meat was tender and thick. It had a charcoal aroma, which made me hungry. Delicious pork bowl! The taste was stronger in soy sauce compared to Ippin's pork bowl, with a hint of sweetness. The sauce was rich and went well with the rice. The rice portion was a bit small compared to the meat, so getting extra rice might be a good idea! There was a pot of extra sauce on the table for you to add as much as you like. Drizzling a bit and mixing it with the rich sauce made it even tastier. I would definitely visit this pork bowl place again. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed in Obihiro for the first time and decided to visit a local restaurant known for its pork bowl dish. Since it was past 7 PM, many famous restaurants were already closed, but I found "Butaichi Obihiro Main Store" which was open until 8 PM. The restaurant is located along a wide street with plenty of parking spaces. The place was quite crowded, being a popular spot. Customers order by purchasing meal tickets from a vending machine at the entrance. This time, I ordered a mixed bowl with both thick pork loin and easy-to-eat pork belly, as well as a pork loin bowl. Despite being affordable, all dishes came with miso soup and pickles, which was a nice touch. The food was served in about 15 minutes. The mixed bowl had a delicious slightly sweet flavor with a hint of charcoal grilling, and when I sprinkled some pepper and sansho pepper from the table, it enhanced the taste even more. I later realized that the seasoning was more like a teriyaki sauce rather than a barbecue sauce, which is why the sansho pepper complemented it well (eels in teriyaki sauce are often served with sansho pepper). The fact that additional sauce was provided on the table was also a thoughtful gesture. It was my first time trying a pork bowl in Obihiro, and I was impressed by the delicious charcoal flavor and unique taste. The reasonable prices and the overall experience made me want to visit again.

Half order of sirloin and skirt steak with salad, kimchi, and grated yam. The pork bowl had large pieces of meat that were difficult to eat and too salty. The salad and grated yam helped balance it out. You can taste the charcoal grill flavor. It might be more delicious if the meat pieces were bite-sized and less salty. It can be inconvenient when it's crowded because you have to use a food ticket system. Make sure to check the menu beforehand. There is plenty of parking available.

This is Butaichi Obihiro Main Store. Probably my first visit. Let's start by ordering the strongest menu! I'll go with the "Special Premium Mixed Pork Bowl Special Serving for 1,950 yen." Here it comes! The special serving pork bowl! Bring it on! First, I'll have a piece of pork, then move some pork aside and eat the rice at the bottom. It's going to take some serious stamina! I thought it would be a tough battle, but I continue to eat without difficulty. I'm amazing! Finally, I pour the broth over it and have it as ochazuke. Thanks to that, it was satisfying to eat! I visited the second restaurant for pork bowl. I had the mixed bowl. I arrived before 3 pm and the place was packed due to heavy snow. I'm sure it was crowded during lunchtime. I visited during their preparation time. It was nice that they had the pork bowl sauce available on the table for refills. The thick, juicy, and fragrant pork slices were delicious with the sweet and salty soy sauce.

I went to Butaichi and had the most delicious grilled pork that I couldn't even see the rice anymore. The table had Hida sansho pepper and additional sauce for you to enjoy changing up the flavors. The taste was so rich that I couldn't stop eating the rice. However, the rice portion was quite small, so even though I'm not a big eater, I wished I had ordered the extra-large size. By the way, on this day, I had the special mixed rice bowl in a large size. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork bowl in Obihiro.

Located facing the intersection of Odori South 25 and South 26 on National Route 236 (commonly known as Odori), this pork bowl restaurant is a bit less than 2km from JR Obihiro Station, so it's best to go by car. There are about 15 parking spaces in front of the restaurant, but the parking lot is narrow and long, making it a bit difficult to park, especially for inexperienced drivers. On the day of the visit, four people arrived at 13:20. ●Service Basically, you are seated (assigned) at a table, but it seems to be more focused on efficiency. When I visited the restaurant, the rating on Tabelog was 3.35 and on Google it was 4.3. The taste was rated 4.1. This place has a lot of reviews on Google, around 1095. It's quite far from the bustling area of Obihiro, so you probably need a car to get there. I ordered the premium bara (pork) donburi. Some reviews mentioned a long wait, but we got our food in about 12 minutes, so we were lucky. The first bite...wow, it was delicious. Hokkaido pork donburi is just too good, with its rich and amazing seasoning. I definitely want to go back again. It was the best pork donburi I've had in Obihiro.

I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 on a holiday. There were already more than 10 people waiting outside. I had to wait for over 20 minutes before being seated. Inside the restaurant, I had to buy a meal ticket first, and I chose the mixed bowl with both loin and belly pork for 1,000 yen. The pork bowl arrived in about 5 minutes. The meat was juicy with a slightly sweet sauce. I preferred the belly pork as it was tender, but mixing it with the loin helped reduce the calories. I topped it with plenty of Hida sansho pepper and finished the whole bowl, but adding the optional broth set halfway through would also be good. The miso soup had a light flavor, and the pickles had a slight bitterness that was delicious. The customers were a mix of locals and tourists, and the location slightly away from the town center made it easy to access.

I wanted to eat pork bowl in Obihiro, so I tried the Tokachi Hatsudon at Butaichi. I ordered the salad set, and the meat cooked over charcoal had a nice aroma and was tender. The sweet and savory sauce was delicious, and it paired well with the slightly firm rice. Charcoal grilling is really tasty. Choosing the salad set was the right decision because I don't think I could have finished a regular size. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

It was raining, so I stayed at home all day yesterday. I had overeaten yesterday, so I didn't feel hungry today. I passed by this restaurant before lunchtime and there was a long line. It seems to be a popular place that specializes in charcoal grilling. I got my food in 10 minutes. The rice portion was small. The charred marks on the meat looked nice. The meat was slightly thinner than in the menu photos. The seasoning wasn't as strong as it looked. It had a nice charcoal-grilled flavor with a hint of miso. The rice didn't have much sauce on it. There was extra sauce on the side, but it was a bit too strong, so I preferred not to use it.

This was my first visit since moving. When colleagues from Tokyo came to visit, we decided to start with pork bowl in Obihiro. I had the mini size. Despite the usual crowd, the service was polite and pleasant, and I enjoyed eating out after a long time.

A few days before coming to this restaurant, my family and I tried pork bowls at a different store and got completely hooked on them, haha! We were looking for somewhere that looked delicious, and guess what we found? A place with a huge pork bowl overflowing from the lid! We immediately told our family and went there all excited. It was quite popular, so we had to wait for about 30 minutes to get in, but we were seated fairly quickly. It was our first time visiting, so when I asked the staff a question, they were very polite and helpful, and their hospitality was wonderful. We ordered the Special Mix Pork Bowl with extra pork belly and pork loin, both of which were delicious and made us feel so happy. The presentation was amazing, right? I was worried about the portion size, but since I had both belly and loin, it wasn't too heavy, and I finished it in no time, haha! During this period of being obsessed with pork bowls, we visited several places, but this restaurant is our favorite. I definitely want to go back again!

It was delicious! I had the regular and large size of the special mixed pork bowl. I waited in line for about 15 minutes before the opening. The restaurant quickly filled up because of the line. The mix of belly and loin was really tasty, especially the tender loin! Highly recommended! I also bought some souvenirs. They were frozen, so all you have to do is cook them at home and pour the sauce over it, and the taste comes back in no time! Easy and delicious souvenirs are also recommended.
