We usually go to "Yakitori Shinfukushima" or "Hanakujira," but this time N wanted to have yakiniku, so we ended up at "Gyukaku" near Shinfukushima Station. However, there was a restaurant called "Akakara" on the second floor, a chain from Nagoya specializing in hot pot dishes. N suggested we try this place, so we went upstairs. The atmosphere inside was lively and the young staff were friendly and attentive. We started with a draft Premium Malt beer, which was delicious as always. We opted for the "Akakara Nabe Trial Set" for 990 yen, which was affordable and had a good variety. The set included the Akakara hot pot plus additional dishes, with a choice of ramen, zosui, kishimen, or udon for the finale. The spiciness levels could be chosen, and I, a fan of sweet and spicy flavors, was satisfied with my choice. Before the hot pot was ready, we were served appetizers, vegetable salad, and grilled chicken. By the time we finished our second beer, the hot pot was served. It was a hearty dish with plenty of motsu (offal) and vegetables. I chose kishimen for the finale and added extra spiciness to the soup. I really enjoyed the flavors and will definitely come back again.

I also like affordable ingredients like tofu and Chinese cabbage, so I must be a good customer. I wish I could find a friend who would accompany me to try "level 10 spiciness" at least once. It could even be a birthday present. 😉

But when it comes to Waraya, the hot pot and cheese risotto are a must-try for me. I always request that even the part-time staff make them well. When I feel like having hot pot from Waraya, the Fukushima branch is relatively easy to access and not as crowded as Umeda, so I think it's convenient to use. The customers are still mostly young, and it seems like many people come here for food and drinks. The prices are not too high, so it might be affordable for younger people.

Since the shocking news of Dynamics' bankruptcy and a significant reduction in the number of stores, this is my first visit to this restaurant. I didn't order any hot pot, just had a few drinks. The skewers and grilled chicken were still delicious as always. The potato salad served as a starter had a rich flavor that went well with alcohol. It was my first time visiting this store, and both the interior and service were good. There are also other bars in the area, so it seems like a versatile place to visit.

Everyone loves Akakara and I suddenly felt like eating it. It's safe to say that I grew up on Akakara. I used to go there once a week during college, but I hadn't been there at all until now. After a long time, I had the cheese risotto after finishing with Kishimen. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Akakara Fukushima Ekimae store this time! I'm actually really bad with spicy food, I love sweet things and can't handle anything spicy, but here you can choose from 0 to 10 levels of spiciness! If you love spicy food, you can keep challenging yourself to higher levels. Personally, I went with someone who loves spicy food, and I timidly chose level 1 spiciness. It was still a bit spicy for me, but there was deliciousness hidden in the spiciness! Honestly, the food was really tasty. Since it was all-you-can-eat, I switched to level 0 spiciness for my next serving, being a bit of a scaredy-cat. But level 0 was surprisingly delicious and I couldn't stop eating. I was a bit worried about gaining weight from eating so much. Also, they have a great variety of drinks. I've been into highballs lately, and I tried the Yamazaki highball which was satisfying. On this day, the temperature suddenly dropped from a mild winter to a very cold one. It was so cold!! So, I wanted to warm up with a hot pot. I wanted to go to Yanachan in Tsuruhashi, but when I called, they said they were full. Since I had previously bought a retort red hot pot soup stock at a supermarket and found it delicious, I decided to visit this restaurant instead. There is a coin parking lot right next to it, so it's easy to access by car. When I entered the restaurant, they told me it was full. It couldn't be helped, as it was a busy time. I decided to wait a bit. Then, two customers finished their meal and left. Lucky me, a seat opened up right away. I was seated at the counter and decided to order the all-you-can-eat satisfaction course, which seemed like a safe choice. I asked for the recommended level 3 for the soup stock. Later, I found out that you can increase the spiciness level with additional soup stock. The appetizer was only served to those who ordered alcohol it seemed. It included small meatballs and a bit of potato salad. They seemed a bit frozen, but that's how it is. The Caesar salad had plenty of dressing. The miso skewer cutlet had good seasoning but the meat was a bit fatty, so I couldn't eat much of it. Sorry about that. The red demon cold tofu was delicious, with minced chicken and a slightly spicy sauce that had umami and was tasty. The hot pot arrived next, bubbling and ready to eat. Oh? There were no ladles or lotus roots... so I called a staff member to bring them. The soup stock was not very spicy, but it had a decent flavor. However, overall, it felt a bit thin. The ingredients included cabbage, bean sprouts, pork, chives, and a few others, with a small amount of meatballs and thin fried tofu. I decided to add chicken, meatballs, cabbage, burdock, and chives, and ordered more soup stock at level 4. Now, the flavor was a bit stronger and tastier. It became more like Yanachan (^o^)v. However, the meatballs seemed to be frozen, and the burdock had no aroma, which was a bit disappointing. I wanted to order more toppings like leeks and bacon, but I was already full. The plan was to finish with cheese risotto, but I couldn't eat anymore! The ladle didn't come, and some of the orders were missed, probably because the restaurant was busy with a full house and new customers coming in. It's a franchise chain restaurant, but the soup stock had a good taste, so next time I'll go for level 4.

We waited for about 15 minutes before being seated, as it turned out they were short-staffed and needed time to clean up. We ordered drinks, with beer costing 480 yen and my wife and friend opting for juice. The appetizer only came with alcoholic drinks, which was clear and convenient for families with children. We ordered the signature spicy red hot pot with a recommended spice level of 3, and added extra offal toppings. We also ordered some side dishes. While waiting for our food, we observed some issues with the service, such as slow calculations at the register and lackluster farewells to departing customers. When our hot pot arrived, there was confusion about the additional offal we ordered, but it was eventually resolved. The food was tasty, especially the quality of the offal. Overall, the service was lacking in attentiveness and customer care, which was disappointing. Hopefully, they improve their service education and training in the future.

After a long time, I went to Akakara in Fukushima! The weekend was super crowded, had to wait for about 30 minutes. Finally got a seat, ordered all-you-can-drink and the satisfying course! The hot pot was level 5 spicy!! Drinking beer and feeling good! For side dishes, we had miso kushikatsu from Nagoya, fried chicken, potatoes, and more! The miso kushikatsu was delicious!! Alright, the hot pot is ready!! Oh no, it's too spicy!! My mouth is burning! Everyone was like, "Was it always this spicy?" (laughs) As the soup and ingredients were running low, we ordered more ingredients and changed the soup to level 3 spicy. With level 3 spicy soup, the hot pot became delicious!! The meat was good! The offal was good! It was great! But last year, I used to eat level 8 spicy and stuff. I can't believe I used to eat that!
