I visited this restaurant in Otaru during my trip to Hokkaido. I had made a reservation in advance, which was a good decision because there was a line outside the shop and it was crowded inside. I ordered the "Seafood Deluxe Bowl" (1980 yen), which came with a variety of seafood such as shrimp, scallops, crab, salmon, ikura, tuna, negitoro, and tobiko. Everything was fresh and delicious, but the ikura and scallops were particularly flavorful and made me feel incredibly happy! If I were to visit this restaurant again, I would definitely order the three-color bowl with ikura, scallops, and salmon!

When wandering around because the desired shop was closed, I saw a menu for Poseidon bowls with the words "Mini Bowl 500 yen"! Since I was wearing a yukata and couldn't eat a lot, the affordable price for tourists caught my attention and I headed to the shop right away. It was lunchtime, so I waited for a bit and was seated on the second floor. Self-service water or tea was available. After ordering, the bowl arrived after a short wait. I chose the marinated bowl. I was happy that miso soup was included even though it was only 500 yen. Despite the low price, the seafood was delicious. The portion of rice was large, so I should have asked for a smaller portion. There was a notice asking customers to pay together at the end, so be careful when you visit.

In the evening, as shops were closing one by one, I rushed into a restaurant in Otaru hoping to enjoy some seafood. The specialty Poseidon bowl was packed with a variety of ingredients. Great value, appealing presentation, and delicious taste. There were also other appetizing dishes like grilled seafood. If you use a coupon from Tabelog, you get free tobiko. If you're looking for seafood, this is the place to go.

When I arrived around 1 pm, the 500 yen bowl was already sold out. I had the Otaru beer and the recommended No.1 Poseidon bowl instead. The bowl was filled with luxurious seafood such as sea urchin, salmon roe, crab meat, sweet shrimp, scallop, minced tuna, tuna, and salmon. It was delicious.

I used this restaurant the other day. I had made a reservation so I was seated right away, but it was very crowded. I placed my order, but was told it would take 30 minutes. I thought, well, 30 minutes is not too bad...but even after 30 minutes, my order still hadn't arrived. When I asked the staff, they just said, "Please wait a little longer" without giving me a clear time. As a result, I ended up waiting for about an hour. (We were on a school trip and had limited time, so we were in a hurry.) They prioritized regular customers' orders and left us waiting. Despite the delay, there was not a single word of apology. I will never go back there again.

◆Report Content: Trying the "Poseidon Bowl" at "Otaru Poseidon"◆Menu: Poseidon Bowl ¥2500◆Impressions: This is the third installment of Hokkaido gourmet! When in Hokkaido, you must try a seafood bowl, so this time I would like to introduce Otaru Poseidon, a seafood bowl restaurant in Otaru! I used to come to this place quite often when I was in college. It offers cheap and delicious, reasonably priced seafood bowls! This time, I tried the Poseidon Bowl, which is featured in the restaurant's name. It consists of salmon, salmon roe, flying fish roe, scallops, shrimp, sea urchin, tuna, crab, and minced tuna, totaling 9 different types of seafood, all for just ¥2500! It's colorful and visually appealing! The seafood in the bowl is all delicious and goes well with the rice. My personal recommendations are the scallops and salmon. The scallops are thick and chewy, absolutely delicious, and the salmon is sweet and easy to eat. This restaurant offers the best value for a seafood bowl! If you ever visit Otaru, be sure to give it a try! ✨

I went in the evening, so many menu items were sold out today, but I ordered my favorite menu item, the fatty salmon bowl. Besides the fatty salmon bowl, other popular menu items for me seem to be popular with others as well. It's best to go early if you can. Seafood bowls are often criticized for being aimed at tourists or being expensive, but the amount of sushi and ingredients in a sushi set is not much different from a seafood bowl, so I don't mind spending a bit more, especially since Otaru is like a tourist destination from my home. For an additional fee, you can also have the salmon torched and seasoned, but since it was my first time ordering this menu, I followed the three rules for enjoying delicious food and had a great meal. It was so delicious. Thank you very much.

I had lunch in Otaru. Since I didn't know what time I would arrive, I didn't make a reservation. I tried going to Otaru Masazushi, but it was fully booked. Due to the au communication failure, I couldn't search properly. Eventually, I ended up at this place. I was seated on the second floor after taking off my shoes. Most of the seating was in tatami rooms, but there were also two tables with chairs. I was thinking of ordering something light, but my husband suggested, "It's better to go for the one with sea urchin," so I ordered the Poseidon bowl (2640 yen). If it has the restaurant's name, they must be putting the most effort into it. Indeed, the surface was covered with sashimi, but everything was so watery. It was as if it had been washed with water, very soggy. Even the premium sea urchin looked very meager. The miso soup was disappointingly thin and lacking in flavor. I always thought that seafood bowls and sushi restaurant miso soups were always delicious, but this place was different. The tobiko I got from a dining coupon was too salty, so I managed to finish all the rice. Water and tea were self-service. I'll try to lift my spirits and go look for some snacks!

I visited Otaru City on a weekend in May. I came all the way to Hokkaido and I wanted to try "uni" (sea urchin) since I was here! So, for dinner that day, I made a reservation at a seafood bowl restaurant along Sakaimachi Street. The Western-style building that blended into the cityscape was surprisingly empty. I sat at the counter in the back and toasted with a "Sapporo Classic" for 660 yen, and enjoyed a complimentary "tobikko" with a coupon. I really wanted to have a "uni bowl," but unfortunately, it was not on the menu. However, I found out that I could add "uni" to the "chef's choice bowl" for 1,760 yen, where you could choose three toppings from 11 options. Along with my companion, we chose "scallop, crab, salmon roe (+165 yen)" and "squid, scallop, sweet shrimp," and of course, we added "uni" to both. The bowls arrived in about 5 minutes, and the luxurious toppings caught my eye. I immediately dug in, and the "uni" melted in my mouth with deliciousness. The large scallops were tender and had a noble flavor that was irresistible. The head-on sweet shrimp had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and an elegant sweetness that captivated me. The translucent squid had a pleasant chewiness, and the crab had an excellent aroma. The sparkling salmon roe had a superb taste, and I felt incredibly happy. This seafood bowl, where you can fully enjoy the blessings of the northern sea, is a must-try in Otaru.

I went to Otaru to buy glass cups during my trip. They were very voluminous and satisfying. The prices were not high, so I think it was good value for money. The seafood was all fresh, like it was just caught. However, the sea urchin was a bit bitter, which was disappointing.

I visited during lunchtime sightseeing. I heard from a local that there was a seafood bowl for only 500 yen, so I came. It was already full past 12 o'clock, but I wrote my name and was called in about 10 minutes. There were several types of bowls for 500 yen, and I ordered one with scallops and salmon. I also added the hearty grilled squid and jumbo grilled prawns that I was curious about. I also got a coupon for tobikko. The bowl, priced at 500 yen, had a small amount of sliced fish, but it was satisfying enough. The rice was also cooked just right. The grilled squid had plenty of mayonnaise and was delicious, but it got a little too rich towards the end. It would have been nice if I could have added it myself. The jumbo grilled prawns were served piping hot after being grilled right in front of me. They were so hot that I couldn't peel the shells easily. The legs were crispy and delicious! Even though I was full, I finished everything. The total came to 2,090 yen. It was a great deal to be able to eat a variety of dishes at such a low price. Thank you for the meal.

I avoided the heat and went on a trip to Hokkaido. There were no restrictions or state of emergency declarations. I took a taxi from New Chitose Airport intending to go to Sapporo, but ended up going to Otaru on a whim. I wonder if taxis in Hokkaido are expensive? I was planning to wander around and go to a sushi restaurant, but all I saw were seafood chirashi sushi, so I was drawn to the name and decided to visit Otaru Poseidon Donburi Sakaimachi Main Store for the first time. I was seated on the second floor. I wanted to order the Poseidon Donburi, but it looked like a large portion in the photos, so I gave up (even though I couldn't confirm it). I ordered the Uni (sea urchin) Assorted Donburi. Unfortunately, the Uni had a lingering smell and looked unappetizing. The sweet shrimp was slightly overcooked, and there was too much seaweed. I realized that my expectations were not met. I enjoyed the atmosphere of Otaru. However, even though I entered the restaurant at 11:30, the first floor was already full, and by 12:00, the second floor was also full. It is a very popular restaurant with high ratings. I think local individual restaurants outside of the city tend to have high ratings. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing shopping around Yoichi, I wanted to eat seafood bowl somewhere in the area, but all the restaurants had long lines of customers before opening, probably because it was Sunday. My wife said she didn't want to wait in line, so we decided to head back to Otaru where it might be less crowded. There were many restaurants in Otaru offering seafood bowls, so I chose to go to Poseidon Donburi, which I had seen frequently on Instagram. We arrived around 11:40 and although it was quite busy, we were seated at the counter in the back of the restaurant right away. I had already decided to order the Poseidon Donburi for ¥2,200 and added a cup of flying fish roe using a coupon from Tabelog. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. I mixed wasabi with soy sauce and lightly poured it over the bowl, adding the flying fish roe from the coupon. The sea urchin, which is currently in season, was really delicious! The other toppings were also tasty without any issues. I really enjoyed the seafood bowl as I had been craving for it. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

The result is disappointing. I checked the menu on the official website before going, and ordered the "Gokubari Seafood Bowl." However, when I actually saw it, it didn't look appetizing at all. It was just toppings placed on rice, with the rice visible underneath. The key to a good seafood bowl is to make it look delicious with limited toppings. I'm not sure if it's because there were too few toppings for the bowl, but I won't be going back. I think the shops at the Sanjokkai Market are definitely tastier.

Today, I visited the Otaru Poseidon Don Sakaimachi Main Store. Taste → ★★★★ Service → ★★★★ Atmosphere → ★★★★ Cost performance → ★★★★ Drink → ★★★
Compared to my previous trip to Hokkaido, I visited this restaurant about 2 years ago during my sightseeing in Otaru. I ordered the "Yokubari Seafood Bowl". It was served in a bowl at the L-shaped counter. The bowl included a variety of seafood such as tuna, salmon, and sweet shrimp, with 2-3 pieces of each type of topping, making it a great value for the price (around 1500 yen at that time). I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date: Around 12:30 PM on February 15, 2020. For the first day of my one-day trip to Otaru with a friend, we decided to have lunch at the restaurant "Otaru Poseidon Don Honpo" where we made a reservation about a month ago. After visiting the Otaru Aquarium and watching the dolphin and penguin shows, we made it to the bus stop for Otaru Station on time, although the bus was a bit slower than the one we took to get there. Worried that we might be late for our reservation, I informed the restaurant about the possible delay and we arrived at Otaru Station around 12:20 PM, then walked quickly to the restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant almost exactly on time for our reservation, which was a relief. This time, we ordered the "Poseidon Don" using a coupon from Jalan (regular size for ¥2,200 with double crab topping). The staff recommended the "Yokubari Kaisendon" as a better deal, but I wanted to try sea urchin and since we had the coupon, I chose the Poseidon Don. My friend ordered a bowl that cost one coin, but I don't remember the details. The bowls arrived after a wait of about 7 minutes. They were filled with shrimp, sea urchin, salmon, tuna, scallops, salmon roe, flying fish roe, crab, and a generous amount of sashimi. At the back left and middle left are green onions and ginger, respectively. The freshness of each piece of sashimi was evident in the delicious taste! This restaurant is popular among tourists and offers relatively affordable prices compared to other seafood bowl restaurants in Otaru. They even have one-coin bowls during lunchtime! You can also upgrade the miso soup to "teppo-jiru" for an additional ¥100. Although it was a regular size, I was almost full after finishing the bowl. Having seafood bowls in Otaru in the afternoon felt quite luxurious... Enjoy the taste of Otaru's seafood bowls! Thank you for the meal.

Today, I took the bus early in the morning and headed to Otaru. Otaru surprisingly didn't have many must-see places, so I had planned to stay for just one day, but decided to return to Sapporo in the afternoon. For lunch, I went to this seafood bowl restaurant in the center of Otaru. The prices were quite cheap, which made me a little worried. I might be told not to enter such a place, but I had my reasons. Inside, there were mostly young people. I tried their signature Poseidon bowl. It was decent for the price. The tuna was not the best quality. The salmon roe was small but of Hokkaido quality. The sea urchin was okay. It was cheap, but considering it's in Hokkaido, it was decent enough. I thought the Otaru beer was a low-quality craft beer.

The Poseidon bowl was a mix of seafood. It cost a total of 2970 yen. It was satisfying to have various seafood on top of the rice bowl. I also had Otaru beer. The name was impressive, but it was a relief that I didn't have to wait in line to get in. I want to explore more places when I visit Otaru again.

Good morning. I am beauty acupuncturist Kozue. The other day, I went to Otaru. I visited Kitaichi Glass and saw various glass products, then had lunch at a restaurant called Poseidon Donburi. This restaurant seems to specialize in donburi bowls and seafood grilled on a hearth, with a central counter where seafood is grilled and a few table seats. This time, I ordered the ikura donburi for 1200 yen, seafood tsukedon for 500 yen, and 2 scallops for 500 yen. First, the ikura donburi had more ikura than I expected. The rice portion was small, but it was good for us who wanted to try various things. People who want a hearty meal may find it lacking. The ikura was well seasoned and very delicious. The seafood tsukedon could have been better presented to look more appetizing, but the scallops, salmon, and marinated tuna had good seasoning and were tasty. With miso soup included, 500 yen is a great deal. The scallops were cooked perfectly, well seasoned, juicy, flavorful, and the broth was not too salty and enjoyable to drink. The prices are reasonable compared to others, and the dishes are delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop in Otaru City, Hokkaido. It is located near Otaru Canal, a tourist spot in Otaru. Despite being in a touristy area with a lot of foot traffic, they serve very high-quality dishes. I visited around noon and had to wait for about 10 minutes, but was seated smoothly. I ordered the most popular Poseidon bowl! It arrived in about 10 minutes, as advertised. As you can see in the photo, it was loaded with fresh seafood. The ingredients were fresh, especially the sweet shrimp. The temperature control in the restaurant was good. The crab was rich and juicy, not dry and bland like some places. The cost performance is quite high!
