For some reason, I had the popular tapioca milk tea once again next to Shinjuku Toho Cinema. All the trendy shops were crowded, and I was about to give up on drinking tapioca in Shinjuku when I stumbled upon this shop. It was takeout only and there were only about 5 people in line, so I saw it as a chance and decided to line up. The most basic milk tea was only 290 yen, but the taste was delicious and no complaints. Maybe it's cheap because the quantity is small? But it was enough when I just wanted a little drink.

After drinking in Kabukicho, instead of ending with ramen, I had tapioca milk tea. Tapioca has been a recent trend. It's usually over 500 yen everywhere, but this chain I've known for a while, Pearl Lady, was only 290 yen which was cheap. I wonder what the difference is? The tapioca was indeed a bit hard and not that great, but I was surprised by the huge difference in price range.

I met up with a friend in Shinjuku and arrived quite early, so we decided to kill time by having crepes at this shop. The shop has been around for a while now, even before the tapioca trend started. I can't remember the official name, but I ordered a caramel-flavored crepe. Despite the stereotype that crepes are only for girls and children, I, a grown man, enjoyed eating it. Good food is good food, no other reason needed.

*Waiting Time* I waited in line for 5-10 minutes after 9:30 PM on Friday. *Order & Price* I ordered unsweetened iced tea with extra tapioca pearls (double portion) for 330 yen. *Atmosphere* It's a small roadside shop. *Service* The service was average. *Impressions* I went on a day when they offer double stamps (10th, 20th, and 30th of the month). The double portion of tapioca was just right. I was happy to have the option of unsweetened iced tea. While the drink may not have as much richness as milk tea, the chewy texture of the tapioca provided a satisfying experience. *Expectations* It's not exceptionally delicious compared to other shops (it's still more expensive than in Taiwan), but I would like to go back when I crave tapioca again.

After enjoying an immersive game in the VR zone, I immediately craved something sweet and found myself in front of Pearl Lady, where I ordered a crepe and a tapioca drink. I opted for the Chocolate Mint Ore tapioca drink, which is not commonly seen elsewhere. I upgraded to chocolate tapioca for an additional 30 yen, and when I drank it through the straw, the chewy tapioca pearls and chocolate balls rolled into my mouth, creating a delightful texture. It was sweet and refreshing. The crepe I chose was Caramel Banana Tiramisu, which had a hint of saltiness in the caramel, making the sweetness enjoyable without getting overwhelming. Since there was no seating available, I had to eat while walking, but it was a satisfying treat that fulfilled my sweet cravings.

It's so hot that I decided to stop by for a break. There doesn't seem to be an ideal place around here to have tea. It looks a bit messy, with only sushi conveyor belt and izakaya-style restaurants around. I usually go to a different branch of this chain, but this is my first time here. I noticed that the menu structure is completely different. So, I decided to try something unique and ordered a purple sweet potato latte for 380 yen. They had a black sugar version of tapioca, so I got that too. The price is cheap, so I can't complain, but the purple sweet potato flavor is a bit weak. It's sweet. The tapioca might have been better if it was the regular kind with a chewy texture. I don't know if it's because of the location, but the taste also felt a bit cheap. Maybe crepes would be a good choice here in the winter.

The other day, after having a barbecue in Shinjuku, we decided to have tapioca drinks on the way back. We went to Pearl Lady in Shinjuku Toho Building, which is right outside Shinjuku Central East. In addition to tapioca drinks, they also offer crepes. Since we were already full, we decided to just get drinks. I ordered a tapioca milk tea with tapioca pearls, and for an additional 30 yen, I was able to change it to chocolate flavor. The tapioca pearls in chocolate flavor were incredibly delicious. I highly recommend changing it to chocolate flavor!

I suddenly felt like having a drink when I saw it, so I ended up getting a Pearl Lady. I had a crepe for the first time in a while, and the crepe here has a chewy texture because it uses tapioca flour in the batter. There are plenty of cream and fruits inside, so the portion is quite generous. The prices are not that high, and there is a wide variety of drinks, so it never gets boring. New menu items are added depending on the season, and they are limited-time only, so I end up buying them without realizing. If you collect points on the loyalty card, you can get a free tapioca drink, so it's worth making one if you buy them often.

On the first floor of the Toho Building in Kabukicho, there is a crepe and tapioca shop. They are open late into the night, and I visited around 10 pm. Even at that time, there were about 10 people lined up. It's amazing how many people want to eat crepes at such a late hour. I purchased the Chocolate Custard Vanilla for 480 yen including tax. The ice cream inside is Häagen-Dazs vanilla, so the ice cream is really delicious. The crepe itself is very chewy and satisfying to eat. The deliciousness of Häagen-Dazs, the texture of the crepe, it was a tasty crepe.

I was drawn to the limited edition matcha series at the Shinjuku Toho Building store, so I impulsively bought the matcha banana chocolate crepe. It's been a while since I've had a sweet crepe, as they mainly serve galettes. The matcha crepe had a slightly bitter taste which added a nice touch and wasn't bad at all.

The hotel in Kabukicho Godzilla is a landmark! It's right in front of TOHO Cinemas so you can easily spot it. While strolling around, I came across a tapioca shop! I decided to try the "Strawberry Milk" flavor. The tapioca was delicious, and it also had chopped strawberries in it, so I could enjoy tapioca and strawberries alternately through the straw. The texture of the strawberries was new to me and very sweet, making me want to drink it again. It was a tapioca shop that I would definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

[Visit on May 27, 2016] Location: About a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. Located right in the middle of Kabukicho, so you won't get lost. Visited around 8 pm on a Friday. The shop does not have an eat-in space, so it seems like the flow is to buy and eat while walking. In front of the shop, there were about 3 groups of female customers waiting in line. The menu is quite extensive, with a variety of options from sweets to tuna crepes. I ordered the Chocolate Almond Whip for 360 yen. They have a system where they bake the outer crepe shell after you order. The crepe was served in about 2 minutes after ordering. It was bigger than I expected and had a lot of whipped cream! This is definitely a crepe that women would enjoy. It's a shop that you can visit occasionally without being disappointed, as it's a common type of shop. Thank you for the meal.

It is a chain of tapioca juice stand. Tapioca menu: Black color, sweetness level: Standard, Half, Zero. You can choose the size of the drink and the type of tapioca, and depending on the drink, you can also choose the sweetness level. There were also limited menu items at the Shinjuku Toho Building store. I ordered a milk tea with colored tapioca and zero sweetness. Milk tea for 250 yen. A cup sealed with a seal pack containing milk tea with colored tapioca. It's hard to see the color of the tapioca in the photo, probably because of the milk tea. The tapioca is delicious. It's chewy. It's a nice surprise when it comes through the thick straw. A satisfying sweet treat.
