I visited "Menya Goyama" near Shin-Osaka Station, which I had been wanting to try for a while. I arrived just past noon and the restaurant was about 80% full, mainly with nearby office workers. Despite being in a quieter area with less foot traffic behind Shin-Osaka, it seems to be quite popular. I ordered the Goyama Ramen with extra chashu topping. The rich and sweet soup had a unique accent of black and red pepper, combining pork bone with several types of seafood. The homemade thin noodles were cooked on the softer side, giving a gentle impression. The chashu was thinly sliced and lightly seasoned, making it a good accompaniment to the noodles. The half boiled egg that came with the ramen was a delightful addition. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, run by a friendly couple, made for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, it's a great place for casual dining and fits well into one's regular rotation of ramen spots. Thank you for the meal.

This is a tsukemen restaurant located near the east exit of Shin-Osaka Station.
- The "Rich Tan Tan Tsukemen" has a rich flavor with mild spiciness.
- The "Tonkotsu Ramen" has a sweet seasoning with short noodles.
- Cash payment only.
The restaurant used to be located a couple of blocks away but moved a few years ago. The interior is in black tones with a few counter seats and about three tables. Nearby salarymen come in and around 12 o'clock, it gets close to being full.
The menu offers various flavors for tsukemen, such as dried bonito broth, tan tan, garlic, and tomato. The ramen is tonkotsu, and they confidently claim that it is different from just diluted tsukemen shops.
- Goyama Ramen: 830 yen (as of April 23)
The ramen arrives quickly. The soup has a strong sweetness. There are plenty of vegetables, and the pork bone broth is flavorful without any unpleasant smell, but it's too sweet. The balance is somewhat maintained with black pepper. The noodles are of normal thickness but surprisingly short. Some are only 1-2cm long, which end up left at the bottom. Who are these short noodles for!?
- Rich Tan Tan Tsukemen: 1100 yen (as of April 23)
I came back another day to try the tan tan noodles. It comes with a serving of rice. It arrives in less than 10 minutes. The sweet seasoning is similar to the ramen. The sesame flavor is decent, with a slight acidity. There isn't much spiciness. The noodles are short. They are smooth and chewy, with whole wheat flour making them delicious. It's quite strong when eaten alone. I found it too strong even with rice, so I added a little bit at a time. Recommended for those working nearby. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Menya Goyama - I wanted to eat ramen before taking the Shinkansen, so I wandered around. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere filled with the smell of ramen soup. I ordered ramen and enjoyed the delicious sweet and gentle soup.

Located right by the east exit of Shin-Osaka Station. I stopped by here today. The interior of the restaurant consists of counter seats and table seats, and the main menu items are tsukemen and ramen. I ordered the Garlic Punch Tsukemen. Let's dig in! The dipping sauce has a garlic-infused chicken and seafood flavor. It's not overly garlicky, so it's more on the mild side. The dipping sauce is not too salty, and it feels like they serve the soup and noodles separately, similar to ramen. This tsukemen comes with a side of egg over rice, and the dipping sauce actually goes better with the rice than the noodles. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The owner has a unique personality that fits the image of an Osaka local. While the tsukemen comes with rice, personally, I would prefer if they offered the tsukemen alone at a price below 1,000 yen.

Yesterday (9/13), I walked a bit north from Hankyu Kyoto Line Minami-Kata Station to a shop where I had a disappointing bowl of ramen. I then continued north to visit this shop near JR Kobe Line Shin-Osaka Station for a second meal. I sat at a table for two, looked at the menu, and ordered the "Gozan Ramen (830 yen)." Soon, the bowl arrived with a pork bone-like murky soup with straight thin noodles peeking out, topped with chashu, menma, half a seasoned egg, and finely chopped green onions. The toppings seemed spicy. I tried the soup, which was somewhat sweet and had decent richness, but unfortunately, it was a bit too bland for my taste. The noodles were soft with a somewhat vague chewiness, resulting in a not-so-great texture, and the chashu didn't have much flavor either. Overall, it wasn't terribly bad, but I would say it was slightly below average for me. Therefore, yesterday's double meal ended with a somewhat disappointing outcome.

I found this ramen shop while walking near Shin-Osaka Station. It's located about a 5-minute walk from the east exit of the station. It was around 11 am on a weekday, so there were no customers. The shop has a counter and 4 tables. I ordered the thick soup dipping noodles with extra noodles. It comes with a set of egg over rice. The noodles are medium thickness and straight. They have a nice shine to them. The soup has chashu pork and green onions. It has a rich seafood flavor with a strong soy sauce taste. I like soup this rich. They also recommend mixing the soup with the egg over rice as a finishing touch. It's a ramen shop within walking distance from the station, so you don't have to wait in line much, but the taste is definitely solid.

At the east exit of Shin-Osaka Station, in an area with fewer people, I stumbled upon a tsukemen shop while looking for lunch. Unfortunately, the original restaurant I planned to visit was unexpectedly closed, so I decided to give this place a try. The menu board outside the shop had all the prices hidden, which made me a bit curious, but I went in anyway. The prices turned out to be reasonable, so I ordered the classic "Gozan Tsukemen". It had a soy sauce base with a slightly spicy kick. The noodles were medium thickness and quite tasty. When dipped in the broth, the soy sauce flavor was not overpowering. The dish also had plenty of char siu pork slices. After finishing the noodles, I tried the egg over rice. It was delicious on its own, but even better when mixed with the leftover broth. Overall, it was a satisfying meal that left me feeling comfortably full.

At "Menya Gosan" in Osaka, their Gosan Tsukemen is priced at 850 yen. The restaurant relocated nearby last February. The homemade thick straight noodles have a nice chew and a pleasant wheat aroma. The dipping broth is a relatively light chicken white broth with a strong saltiness from pepper and chili. Toppings include green onions and sliced chashu, but the chashu pieces seem like scraps. The meal ends with a rice bowl topped with just the egg yolk, to be eaten with the remaining soup. The yolk adds a nice touch. While the portion size is generous with the rice bowl, the quality of the tsukemen itself is not outstanding. ★Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ramenbukun ★Twitter https://twitter.com/ra_men_tabi

I had been curious about this place before the relocation, but never had the chance to visit... It seems like the review scores have been reset, but I remember they were quite high before. As usual, the scores will gradually increase along with the number of reviews. Well, I won't be swayed by the ratings on Tabelog. It's a black box after all. Google may have fake reviews, but at least they provide an average score which is easier to understand. Finally, on my first visit, I ordered the affordable Goyama Tsukemen in a large size with 1.5 toppings. The normal size is recommended. The rice portion is small, but it comes with a raw egg rice bowl as standard. The whole wheat noodles are thick, and the soup is mainly chicken and seafood based with a mild salt flavor. It's not too strong, but it's quite rich in flavor. There's plenty of soup, so you won't run out while eating the Tsukemen, which can be a problem at some places. Mixing the soup with the rice bowl adds more depth and flavor. The staff, including the owner and waitstaff, are very polite and greet you properly. It's good because I've encountered rude staff at other places recently. Unfortunately, it's becoming more common. Thank you for the delicious meal. Thank you for visiting and reading.

I had lunch here. I was originally planning to go to a different restaurant, but it was closed on that day, so I found this nearby place and decided to visit. They seemed to specialize in tsukemen, so I ordered that. The staff recommended mixing a little bit of the tsukemen soup into the egg rice, so I tried it and it was really delicious. I remember that part vividly, but I don't remember much about the tsukemen itself. Overall, I thought it was just really tasty.

On September 17, 2020, we visited "Gozan Ramen" with two people. The restaurant is located about a 3-minute walk from Shin-Osaka Station. It opened in February 2020 near this location, offering homemade noodles. The seating options include tables and a counter. The menu had a variety of options to choose from. My companion ordered the Gozan Ramen, while I opted for the Special Rich Tantanmen. The table had various condiments available. The Special Rich Tantanmen (900 yen) was more like a rich ramen than a tantanmen. It had a rich flavor with a good balance of chicken and pork, richness, and oiliness. The half-boiled egg was delicious, and the chashu was tender. The menma was standard. The noodles were homemade, chewy, and translucent. They were delicious, but despite requesting them firm, they were quite soft. We finished every last drop. The Gozan Ramen (730 yen) had chashu, menma, green onions, and a half-boiled egg. It featured a rich tonkotsu soup made from domestic pork bones over two days, combined with a seafood soup made from carefully selected dried fish such as katsuobushi and kombu. The ramen was rich and tasty, with green onions, menma, and pork belly chashu. The homemade noodles were also on the softer side despite requesting them firm. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I was so busy at work that I couldn't have lunch. On my way home, feeling hungry, I got off at JR Shin-Osaka Station and walked a few minutes to visit "Menya Goyama." The restaurant had moved to a new location closer to Shin-Osaka Station since my last visit in February. When I arrived around 6 p.m., there were no other customers. I ordered the "Agodashi Tsukemen," which came with thick straight noodles (made with flaxseed) and topped with green onions. The dipping sauce was a soy sauce-based broth with chashu, chopped green onions, and chicken and fish (grilled jaw) flavors, with a spicy kick from red pepper. It was rich and flavorful, yet light and smooth, with a lingering umami taste. The meal also came with a special egg over rice, which was delicious when mixed with the dipping sauce. I was also given a complimentary side dish. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with 6 counter seats and 5 tables. The owner was friendly and clearly a ramen enthusiast, as we had a nice chat during my visit. He recommended trying the "Garlic Punch! Tsukemen" next time, and I look forward to it.

■Gokuraku Ramen from Gosan Ramen - 850 yen
Located about a 2-minute walk from JR Shin-Osaka Station East Exit, this ramen shop offers a rich soy sauce soup made mainly from chicken bones, pork bones, and seafood. It is sprinkled with black pepper and shichimi for added flavor. The noodles are medium-sized straight noodles with a transparent appearance. The toppings include one slice of chashu, half a seasoned egg, menma, chopped onions, and chopped green onions. The shop has a counter with 6 seats, as well as 3 tables for 4 people and 2 tables for 2 people. This was my first visit for lunch, near the large karaage restaurant Ichiban-san. The smooth noodles paired well with the unique soup. Thanks to the acidity and the black pepper and shichimi, I sweated a lot while slurping the soup. The staff at the shop were friendly, and I believe this is a place that deserves even higher praise. Thank you for the meal!

I have been going to this ramen shop for a while, and it seems they have moved to a location closer to Shin-Osaka Station. It's just a short walk from the east exit, so it's convenient even when it's raining. I was initially thinking of ordering their classic tsukemen, but I was drawn to the mention of "agodashi" broth, so I decided to try the Agodashi Tsukemen for 900 yen. It comes with a side of egg over rice, so I opted for the regular size. The noodles were thick and the portion was not too big, but with the egg over rice, it seemed sufficient. The noodles had a strong wheat flavor, and the soup was more Japanese-style with a tasty dashi broth. It was described as a soup you can drink, and indeed it was very drinkable. The reviews for this shop since the move have been mixed, but I found this place to be delicious. I would like to try other items on the menu, but I might end up ordering this again. The egg over rice at the end was also quite good - I poured the egg over the rice with a spoonful, and the combination of the rich egg yolk, umami, and broth was a great idea.

After completing the 14-day quarantine upon returning to Japan and safely reuniting as a Japanese, I find myself still spending my days at home. Going to the supermarket to buy groceries has become a daily routine. On this day, I took a longer route to the supermarket for some exercise. Along the way, I happened to pass by <Menya Goyama>, which had relocated in February and was just about to open. The entrance was open, so I peeked inside, and it seemed like there were no customers yet. I decided to go in. They did not have alcohol disinfectant available, and the owners were not wearing masks. Well, everyone has their own values, so it's okay. I was seated at a table for two and ordered the "Ago Dashi Tsukemen for 900 yen." While waiting for my order, another customer walked in. A man in a mask sat at a table three seats away. He knows what's up (laughs). After a while, my order arrived - noodles, dipping sauce, and a special egg rice bowl for finishing off the meal. According to the owner, it's a rice dish to eat after dipping it in the sauce. First, I tried the noodles. The medium-thick noodles were chewy and had a good texture. The flavor of the wheat was also nice. Then I dipped the noodles in the sauce. The dipping sauce was a combination of chicken, seafood, and soy sauce, with a nice sweetness and acidity. It was delicious. The flavor of the dipping sauce was stronger than I expected. The toppings were on the lighter side. I would have preferred larger slices of chashu. Lastly, I poured the dipping sauce over the egg rice bowl and enjoyed it with a spoon. What caught my attention was the soup refills. I wondered if they offered them, but I didn't want to ask the staff to avoid close contact. The tsukemen was delicious, but I wish I could have focused more on the meal. The lingering anxiety of the coronavirus situation is hard to shake.

Gozan Ramen (Chicken and Seafood Broth, 730 yen) ★★★☆
The soup is a blend of chicken broth and seafood soy sauce. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles. The toppings include sliced pork chashu, green onions, diced onions, and a boiled egg. This shop, located in Shin-Osaka, opened on February 10th, just 100 meters northwest of the original Gozan Ramen shop. The soup is made from a combination of chicken, dried fish, bonito flakes, and kelp, with a balanced mix of oil and a touch of spicy chili to accentuate the sweetness of the soy sauce base. The homemade noodles have a supple texture with a good chewiness. The large slice of chashu is tender and well-seasoned, adding a delicious touch to the dish. You can also enjoy different flavors by adding the provided shichimi pepper and pepper. (Recommended for the soup)

JR Shin-Osaka Station East Exit South, just south of the front alley. A ramen shop that opened in 2016 and moved slightly west in 2020. The store has a sophisticated black-themed exterior, with a white curtain at the entrance. The interior has a calm bar-like atmosphere with table seating and a counter facing the kitchen. The menu focuses on tsukemen, with 5 varieties, and ramen with 2 options, as well as 2 types of tantanmen. Tsukemen comes with a complimentary "egg rice". We ordered the signature "Gozan Tsukemen (double-layered)". The smooth dipping sauce is a soy sauce-based chicken broth. It has a rich umami flavor without being too spicy or sour. The homemade flat noodles are chewy and go well with the low viscosity dipping sauce. We finished off by adding the soup to the leftover noodles and rice (Tamago Kake Gohan). A great place for light and refreshing tsukemen.

"Tsukemen (double preparation) from Goyama Ramen (850 yen)" I visited the newly relocated "Goyama Ramen" on February 10th based on information from Kuroboushi-san. The shop was originally located in Higashi-Nakajima, but has now moved to a location just 240 meters from the nearest JR Shin-Osaka Station East Exit. The menu includes: Goyama Tsukemen (double preparation) - 850 yen, Ago Dashi Tsukemen - 900 yen, Rich Tan Tan Tsukemen - 950 yen, Garlic Punch! Tsukemen - 900 yen, Rich Tomato Tsukemen - 950 yen, Goyama Ramen - 730 yen, Goyama Ramen Extreme - 850 yen, Special Rich Tan Tan Men - 900 yen, Special Soupless Tan Tan Men - 930 yen, Boiled Egg - +100 yen, Char Siu - +250 yen, Ramen Extra Large - +100 yen, Extra Noodles - +100 yen, Extra Large - +150 yen. The chicken-based animal broth has a low viscosity soy sauce soup with a strong soy flavor enhanced by a well-extracted chicken broth umami, complemented by a tangy and slightly spicy depth of flavor. The homemade noodles are made with amani and are thick straight noodles. They have a good texture and absorb the dipping sauce well, with a rich wheat flavor and firm elasticity. The dipping sauce contains a generous portion of thick pork belly char siu with a soft texture and perfectly seasoned taste. The meal comes with a special egg over rice as a finishing touch. You can also adjust the flavor with the shichimi and pepper provided on the table. In the evenings, they also offer hot pot dishes."

It seems that Menya Goshiki, located near the east exit of Shin-Osaka Station, has relocated closer to the station and started operating from February 10th. This was my third visit, and I tried their rich and creamy tantan tsukemen this time. The tsukemen broth had a hint of seafood flavor and the spiciness was mild. It had a rich taste without being too heavy, but I wished for more of the distinct tantan flavor. The thick noodles were chewy and paired well with the broth. I finished off with the rice and left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

At Goyama in Shin-Osaka, I had the Nidandan Shikomi Goyama Tsukemen with a side of Tamago Kake Gohan. The short noodles are dipped in a rich broth with a hint of fish powder. The Tamago Kake Gohan, topped with the broth, is enhanced by the condiments in the broth.

Visited on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Asked the staff for a recommendation and tried the Agodashi tsukemen for 900 yen. It looked delicious from the outside. It's a typical fish powder-heavy tsukemen with chopped onions in a seafood broth, similar to Musashi or Rokusan. However, the sweetness is intense and the dashi broth is amazing. The fish powder is a bit chunky, but the taste is different from the usual fish-based tsukemen. It's delicious. However, when I opened the entrance door, the inside of the restaurant was so hot that it felt like an Asian night market!笑
