[April 2011 revisited] After heading out early in the morning for some errands, I stopped by McDonald's Ideyashiki branch to have their breakfast menu. I was particularly curious about the McGriddles, so I decided to try the McGriddle Sausage this time. I also ordered a Premium Roast Coffee. Wow, the taste was amazing, beyond what I had heard. When the McGriddle was served, I could feel the warmth as I held it in my hand, indicating it was freshly heated. Visually, it looked darker and more moist than the product shown on the website, giving off a somewhat microwaved bread vibe. However, the taste didn't sit well with me. I thought the combination of syrupy pancakes and sausage patty was being criticized for the mix of sweetness and saltiness, but in reality, both the bread and sausage were not tasty. The pancake was mushy and the sausage had a processed texture, making it hard to eat even separately. Perhaps the staff overcooked it. The McGriddle is a divisive item with search results showing both "delicious" and "bad" suggestions. It was a scary experience trying it for the first time, and I ended up facing something truly "scary" (in terms of taste). I guess I'll stick to the Salad Marin Muffin for breakfast (at Matsui Yamate branch). By the way, this McGriddle Sausage has 420 calories, while the reviewer's menu Bacon Lettuce Burger has 422 calories, so it was quite a hearty meal for breakfast. The McDonald's Ideyashiki branch is conveniently located near the intersection of Route 1 and Osaka Prefectural Route 18, making it easy to access by car. They also have a drive-thru, with many customers using it. The restaurant has 78 seats, not a large store, and it wasn't crowded when I visited. ------ [January 2010 visit] Two weeks after trying the Quarter Pounder Cheese (at Toyonaka Kamishinden branch), I went to try the Big America first edition Texas Burger with high expectations. The burger has three layers of buns, with cheese and patty between the middle and bottom layers, and bacon and fried onions between the top and middle layers. With 640 calories, it was higher in calories than the Cheese Quarter Pounder's 556 calories. I had high hopes since I was very satisfied with the Cheese Quarter Pounder, but the result was that the bacon flavor was a bit overpowering. The fried onion didn't stand out much, and the taste of bacon plus other flavors spread in my mouth. Honestly, my simple impression was "Did they add extra things to the Cheese Quarter Pounder?" Hence, I rated the dish 2.5 stars for taste. The McDonald's Ideyashiki branch is located along Route 1, with easy access to the parking lot, making it convenient for those traveling by car. Unfortunately, the Big America first edition was a disappointment, but I look forward to the second edition, the New York Burger. ☆ New York Burger edition → To be continued at McDonald's Makino branch. ※ About McDonald's House: I have uploaded photos in the "Interior Photos" section, showcasing McDonald's support for the "Donald McDonald House Charities Japan" foundation.
