I was invited on a hazy moonlit night, and I took a walk across Imadegawa Bridge from my residence to visit this restaurant. It's a small trattoria tucked away in a small alley, where I once got lost trying to find it for lunch. The restaurant features about 12 table seats surrounded by a bar-like counter where the kitchen is in the center, emitting delicious cooking smells that made my stomach growl with anticipation for the next dish. The restaurant is run by a couple, so the timing of the dishes is a bit slow, but it allows you to leisurely enjoy your wine. I started with a red wine, Salice Salentino Reserva 2005 from southern Italy. At first, I hesitated because of the strong tannins, but it turned out to be a delicious wine with a full body, ripe fruit aroma, and a beautiful garnet color. The taste improved as I enjoyed it with the dishes. The vegetable grill assortment was flavorful, with grilled paprika, zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, scallions, broccoli, and white beans cooked together. The white beans were especially delicious. The octopus and potato appetizer was also delightful, with the savory flavor of the octopus and the gentle taste of the potatoes. The highlight was the pasta, all made with fresh noodles. The tagliatelle with gorgonzola cream sauce was deliciously creamy and the olive and anchovy tomato sauce pasta had a harmonious blend of flavors. The main course was roasted langoustines, which were aromatic and full of flavor. Lastly, I enjoyed a Roman-style roast veal wrapped in herbs. The meat was thin slices with sage in between, adding a strong aroma and a mix of flavors. I ended the meal with a rich espresso and left feeling full and satisfied. Overall, I would rate it a 4 out of 5, but the dishes were all a bit salty, so it might be better to stick to a pasta + appetizer lunch rather than ordering a lot of dishes a la carte.
