A ramen shop in Nihonbashi that stays open until late at night. It used to be closed all the time, but it was open for the first time in a while, so I visited for the first time. It seems that the shop owner has branched out from Santoyo Men. The interior of the shop has 6 counter seats, 2 four-person table seats, and 1 two-person table seat. I ordered the rich seafood dipping noodles with fried chicken for 950 yen (free upsize available). The dipping sauce is a thick and rich pork and seafood broth, and the thick noodles with whole wheat have a strong chewiness and a pleasant wheat flavor. It was delicious and my favorite taste among the ramen shops around here when it comes to dipping noodles.

I ordered the large size of tsukemen because the extra-large size was free. The regular size is 300g, large is 420g, and extra-large is 630g. This size was just right for me, filling up my stomach nicely. It's perfect for a quick and satisfying meal if it's nearby.

I always had the impression that "Chokken Men" is always closed, perhaps due to passing by at the wrong time. But today around 1pm, as I was walking along Sennichimae Street, I noticed that they were open, so I decided to stop by on a whim. There is a food ticket vending machine and hand sanitizer placed in front of the shop. Upon entering the shop, I saw one other customer already there. I handed the food ticket for the rich dipping noodles to the owner, who asked me about the noodle size - regular, large, or extra-large, all priced the same. I opted for the large size this time. The rich dipping noodles came with firm and smooth whole wheat flat medium-thick straight noodles, topped with a dipping sauce made from pork bone and seafood with soy sauce flavor, along with chashu pork, menma bamboo shoots, and green onions. The sauce was thick and flavorful, with a rich taste and a hint of sweetness, providing a well-rounded mouthfeel. The chashu pork, which was thickly sliced with a generous amount of fat, had a slightly unique taste that I wasn't particularly fond of. The large portion of noodles was quite filling. There were condiments on the table such as black pepper, red pepper, ground sesame seeds, chili oil, and vinegar. The shop had a counter with 3 seats and 2 tables (4-person capacity), all managed by the owner alone. The entrance was left open throughout, but the air conditioning was working well, providing a cool and comfortable dining experience.

I went to a restaurant in Nihonbashi called Choukenmen and tried their special super rich tonkotsu ramen for 980 yen. I initially went there for the tsukemen with free extra noodles (up to 700g), but the super rich tonkotsu caught my eye and I changed my order. The broth was thick and creamy, not overly rich but had a strong pork bone flavor. The chashu had a good chewy texture and released a delicious flavor as you chewed. The flavored egg was also amazing. I was worried that the soup would become diluted after adding extra noodles, but it remained delicious until the last drop. Normally, overly rich broths can make me feel sick, but this one was just right. I rarely find tonkotsu ramen that I like in Osaka, but I have definitely found a place worth revisiting. If you're in the area, I recommend checking it out! Thank you for the meal!

It is a 1-minute walk from Exit 7 of Senri Line. I ordered the special Hokkaido spicy miso ramen. The soup is rich and delicious. The service from the staff was also good. I recommend it.

I had tsukemen, sea bream salt ramen, and chashu rice bowl here. The special tsukemen uses whole grain noodles that absorb the soup well, which is predominantly fish-based, distinguishing it from regular ramen. However, the fish powder is strong and can overpower the soup, but they offer free refills if it runs out. The sea bream salt ramen was my favorite, with a subtle flavor that enhances both the noodles and the sea bream soup. The chashu rice bowl with kimchi was also delicious.

It is a visit on a weekday night in February of Heisei 30. Today, I stopped by Ishizugawa for a light drink before 8 pm. There were no other customers, creating a somewhat lonely atmosphere. I purchased a rich dipping noodles at the ticket machine and took a seat at the counter. I handed the ticket to the owner and requested a large portion of noodles. The interior of the restaurant has 6 counter seats, 2 tables for 4 people, and 1 table for 2 people. The owner, who used to work at Mitoyo Men, now runs the shop alone. After a short wait, the noodles were served. The portion was generous and looked great. First, I tried the noodles as they were. The thick noodles with whole wheat were chewy and had a nice wheat flavor. The dipping sauce was a rich blend of pork bone and seafood broth, commonly known as "mataoma style," and it was delicious as always. When you dip the noodles in the sauce, the combination is excellent and very tasty. The sauce contained two large slices of chashu and bamboo shoots. The chashu was subtly flavored but tasted great when combined with the sauce. Towards the end, when the sauce was running low, the owner kindly offered to add more. It was a thoughtful gesture that I truly appreciated. The noodles, sauce, chashu, and the extra sauce all made for a delightful dining experience, just like the old Mitoyo Men. Overall, I enjoyed a delicious and satisfying meal. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I stopped by for a quick meal before work and happened to come across this place. There are two tables and a counter, with the chef and a female staff member who speaks broken Japanese. The restaurant opened in August. They offer tonkotsu, salt, and tsukemen, but I decided to try something different and had the tsukemen. The fish broth with whole wheat noodles was delicious. I'm curious about the "Sea Bream Salt Ramen" as well. Thank you for the meal.

Hello, this is George Herbert. The more we endure pain, the more cruelty intensifies. Head east from the Nihonbashi 1-chome intersection, just before the National Bunraku Theater. Cho Ken Men, a slightly unusual name for a restaurant. I chose the Super Rich Tonkotsu Ramen (750 yen), which seems to be their specialty. Lately, I've noticed this pattern in the ticket machines, where the high-priced menu items are placed on the left where people's eyes naturally go, pushing the basic menu items to the right. It seems a bit unfriendly to me. I wonder what A, B, C, D, E are all about... I thought they only had tonkotsu, but they also offer chicken salt, sea bream salt, and clam broth salt. This new restaurant opened in August and offers a variety of menu items with different flavors. I anticipate some hits and misses, but we'll see how it goes. Given the location, there are many foreign tourists (mostly from China and Korea) around. There are menus in foreign languages inside the restaurant. The owner, who seems to be Chinese, manages the shop alone and speaks Japanese somewhat haltingly. The ramen is served without much waiting time and looks rich, but there is no hint of a gamey smell. Is it a trend now for rich tonkotsu ramen not to have that gamey smell? The soup is thick and has a gooey texture. It doesn't rely solely on oil and sugar for richness, as there is also a decent umami flavor, with a good balance of soy sauce seasoning that defines the taste. Not bad. It's not amazing, but it's pretty good. The noodles are very thin and straight, nothing special. The lightly flavored chashu is nice. However, I personally find the ground sesame seeds already in the soup unnecessary. It adds a gritty texture and distracts from the soup. Since there is ground sesame on the table, I think it would be better for those who like it to add it themselves. Lastly, there was a pleasant interaction with the owner when leaving, which made me think he is a kind-hearted person.【Visit Date: Late September 2017】

Harilhodzic, who had been on the verge of dismissal many times, surprisingly made the right player selections and finally led the team to the World Cup. The true essence of being a coach lies in moments like this, and Tigers' manager Kanemoto feels the same way. He took a risk by putting rookie player Yuto Oyama in the cleanup spot, and it paid off. Today, I visited a ramen restaurant called "Chokeimen" in Nipponbashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka. It opened on August 21 in the former location of "Nagasaki Chanpon Okeidon." I chose the light salt ramen (690 yen) from their extensive menu, which includes tonkotsu ramen, sea bream salt ramen, clam salt ramen, tantanmen, and tsukemen. The salt broth had a rich seafood flavor and was truly light. The medium-thin straight noodles were cooked firm, with a satisfying chewiness. The large piece of chashu had a good meaty texture and a nice sweetness from the fat. It was a delicious meal. The journey was worthwhile, with no regrets.

White Tonkotsu (Pork Bone + Soy Sauce) 700 yen ★★★☆ The soup is a soy sauce-flavored broth based on pork bones. The noodles are very thin straight noodles. The toppings include pork belly chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms. This restaurant opened on August 21st at the former location of "Nagasaki Champon Okeidon" in Nihonbashi. The soup is made from pork bones with a moderate amount of oil, with a hint of sesame flavor as an accent, and a creamy finish with no strong taste. The thick chashu slices are delicious with a good seasoning. The menu includes various ramen dishes such as rich seafood dipping noodles, special rich seafood dipping noodles, super rich tonkotsu ramen, special super rich tonkotsu ramen, black tonkotsu ramen, special black tonkotsu ramen, tantanmen, Chokken noodles, sea bream salt ramen, hamaguri clam salt ramen, light salt ramen, seasoned egg for an additional 100 yen, extra noodles for an additional 100 yen, and 6 pieces of pan-fried dumplings for 300 yen.

Top Quality Noodles (Nihonbashi) [Rich Dipping Noodles] ¥850 ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆ "Asa*****kote" Soup: Pork bone, seafood / Noodles: Whole wheat thick straight noodles This is a new restaurant that opened on August 21st, and I visited on the opening day! The location is where Nagasaki Champon Okeidon used to be. Other noodle menu options include Special Rich Seafood Dipping Noodles Top Quality Noodles (¥980), Super Rich Tonkotsu (¥750), Special Super Rich Tonkotsu (¥980), White Tonkotsu (¥700), White Special Tonkotsu (¥950), Black Tonkotsu (¥790), Black Special Tonkotsu (¥1050), Tantanmen (¥850), Top Quality Noodles (Special Chicken Salt Ramen) (¥860), Sea Bream Salt Ramen (¥750), Hamaguri Dashi Salt Ramen (¥750), Light Salt Ramen (¥690). I ordered the default option, which seems to be this one. [Noodles] The noodles are whole wheat with a thick straight cut. You can choose from regular 350g, large 550g, or extra-large 700g (all at the same price), and I opted for the large portion this time. The noodles have a firm texture with a chewy bite and a strong elasticity. They have a rich wheat flavor with a hint of sweetness, making them delicious. [Dipping Sauce] The dipping sauce is based on pork bone with seafood broth and a moderate amount of oil, flavored with soy sauce. It has a thick and heavy texture with a strong acidity that doesn't taste very good. Additionally, the container is like a small dish for side dishes, making it difficult to hold, dip the noodles, and it cools quickly, making it inappropriate. I personally eat the noodles first, so it was okay for me, but for those who prefer to dip the noodles generously from the start, the amount of sauce may be insufficient. [Chashu] The chashu consists of two small slices of pork belly. They are cut to about 1cm thickness, with a tender and fatty texture. The seasoning is light, allowing the sweetness of the fat to come through, making it delicious. [Egg] The flavored egg was complimentary on the opening day but costs ¥100 thereafter. It was medium-boiled with a medium seasoning. The yolk had a dry and crumbly texture, which was not pleasant. [Other Ingredients] Other toppings include green onions, bamboo shoots, and fish powder. You can also customize the flavor with condiments like spicy pickled mustard greens, sesame seeds, pepper, shichimi, vinegar, and chili oil. [Interior] The restaurant has 6 counter seats, 4 tables for 4, and 1 table for 2, totaling 16 seats. The price of ¥850 for a bowl may feel a bit high, even though the noodles come in a free large portion. The owner seemed to have previously worked at Sanyomen Uehommachi High-Town store and has now opened this place. They seemed a bit unfamiliar with Japanese and communication was a bit difficult, but they gave a kind and gentle impression, so I hope they improve and become a good restaurant! Thank you for the meal! The shop opened in Nihonbashi with Tsukemen as its specialty. The menu includes salt ramen, shijimi ramen, and tantanmen, but the focus seems a bit off. The menu seems to cater more towards tourists, which may make it difficult for Japanese people to navigate. The Tsukemen is a classic fish-based dish with a straightforward taste. The portion sizes range from regular to extra-large, all for the same price, which is great. It seems like they offer free soup refills if you run out. The shop is run by a couple who are working hard, and you can't help but want to support them. It's a challenging location, so it will be interesting to see how they do.

"I visited 'Chokenzanmen' which will open on August 21st and tried their 'Rich Seafood Tsukemen Regular Size (850 yen)'. The restaurant had a soft opening on August 19th and 20th before the grand opening on August 21st. It is located near Nihonbashi Station, in the place where 'Nagasaki Champon Okeidon' used to be. The menu includes: Rich Seafood Tsukemen (850 yen), Special (+130 yen), Super Rich Tonkotsu (750 yen), Special (+230 yen), White Tonkotsu (700 yen), Special (+250 yen), Black Tonkotsu (790 yen), Special (+260 yen), Light Salt Ramen (690 yen), Hamaguri Dashi Salt Ramen (750 yen), Sea Bream Salt Ramen (750 yen), Chokenzanmen (860 yen), Dan Dan Noodles (850 yen), Boiled Egg (+100 yen), Extra Noodles (100 yen), Fried Chicken (5 pieces) (300 yen). The broth has a slightly thick texture with no pork smell, a good soy sauce flavor, and a strong seafood taste. It is based on a rich pork bone broth with a thick dipping sauce, creating a rich and flavorful combination. The noodles are medium thickness straight noodles with a good chewiness and excellent coating with the dipping sauce. The bowl comes with a generous portion of pork belly chashu with a perfect balance of tenderness and meaty flavor. The serving size for the tsukemen can be chosen from regular, large, or extra-large, all for the same price. There are also many set menu options available."

"I had the 'Special Rich Tonkotsu Ramen' and a 'Kaedama' (extra noodle refill). It was my first time having authentic tonkotsu ramen in a while, and it was delicious. The creamy soup paired perfectly with the thin noodles, creating a wonderful balance. The addition of wood ear mushrooms added another layer of enjoyment. The staff at the restaurant were also very attentive."
