Reason for low rating... While eating, a male staff member came to the table and said, "The machine is broken so credit cards cannot be used, cash only." What if the customer didn't have cash? This is a concern. In this cashless society, how is it acceptable to say, "Sorry, credit cards cannot be used" while customers are eating? Luckily, my companion had cash so we narrowly avoided a problem.

I dropped by for lunch and had a leisurely chat while enjoying my meal. It was nice to be able to have a relaxing lunch like that! They also offer lunchtime drinks, which is great. The all-you-can-eat option is a plus. Even on hot days, having a warm hot pot is nice! You can choose from 2 types of hot pots and they will refill the broth for you, so you can eat to your heart's content! I enjoyed trying different vegetables and ingredients that I don't usually put in hot pot. They also have a drink bar and desserts, so it's recommended for families with children!

I accidentally mistook Shabu Sai Tennoji Mio Plaza for Sky Lark Group's Shabu Yuba when having lunch. However, they have a similar concept. The lunch buffet with pork shabu shabu for 90 minutes costs 1648 yen (tax included), which may be a bit pricey for a lunch deal. Personally, I prefer pork shabu shabu over beef, so I found it to be a good value. You can choose from two types of broth for the hot pot, and I chose the grated ginger broth and the classic kombu broth. The grated ginger broth was delicious as I love ginger and daikon. You can also choose Sukiyaki sauce and it comes with an egg, so you can enjoy both shabu shabu and Sukiyaki. However, Sukiyaki is made with beef. Surprisingly, the curry was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. They don't serve sushi during lunch hours like Shabu Yuba, but it seems they have it during dinner time.

On a weekday afternoon, I waited quite a while (about 20 minutes) even though it wasn't crowded. It seemed like there weren't enough staff as tables were not being cleared, making it difficult for customers to pass through and causing delays. Finally, I was seated and ordered the standard all-you-can-drink option. It seems like the prices have gone up, as they only had enoki mushrooms instead of a variety of mushrooms like they used to. The selection of other vegetables also seemed to have decreased. Due to COVID-19 measures, condiments like ponzu were no longer at the table and had to be fetched from the counter, which was a bit inconvenient. However, there were still plenty of condiments like ponzu, miso sauce, and toppings like grated daikon and garlic, which was good for the cost. The self-service style made it a bit hectic to get beer, but once I got started, it was enjoyable. I almost forgot about the meat since it was ordered separately, but they brought it after I asked. Overall, I had a satisfying shabu-shabu experience, with plenty of beer and additional toppings like raw egg for sukiyaki. The meat was thin and cooked quickly, and I could add more if needed. I enjoyed a full meal and left feeling satisfied, despite the initial wait.

Having a shabu-shabu lunch alone is quite a challenge, but I managed to clear it successfully. They offer all-you-can-eat from lunchtime, but I opted for a lunch set with two plates of pork, unlimited vegetables, rice, and noodles. You can choose from two types of broth. The meat was delicious, and there was a variety of vegetables including mushrooms. The only downside was the rice, as it seemed a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Casually strolling around Tennoji after a long time, I stumbled upon a restaurant called "Shabu Sai." My wife mentioned that we had visited this place before, but I had no recollection of it at all. Apparently, during that previous visit, she had found the lunch portion to be "unsatisfying." Looking at the sample image of the restaurant front, I noticed that the lunch set at the bottom was not all-you-can-eat, which was probably why she felt that way. I opted for the cheapest option, the "pork course" priced at 1,899 yen (excluding tax). The presentation was rather ordinary. The tsukune (chicken meatball) was made using a bamboo mold that allowed for customizable shapes. Oh, it just occurred to me that you could put everything in there. I ate a decent amount, but I left the restaurant after just 60 minutes instead of the allotted 90 minutes, without even using the coupon for a free drink bar. The reason for this? I had a staff health check-up the following week, so I was trying to control my blood sugar levels! (laughs)

It was very empty, probably because it was a weekday evening. We liked the style of being able to choose what we wanted to eat besides the meat by ourselves. We could also choose two types of broth and enjoy two different flavors. One of the staff members was very friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable. However, at the checkout, it seemed like there was a new employee and a more experienced one, and they were explaining things while processing the payment. It was a bit surprising as usually, they tend to do things quickly or explain after the customer leaves. I thought that some customers might complain about this.

It had been a while since I went out for shabu-shabu with my usual group of friends. As always, we had a great time and lost track of time. The shabu-shabu was delicious too.

The tongs at the Viking buffet are difficult to use. It takes time to serve yourself and the plates are too small, causing a waste of time. The staff were efficient and provided good service. I do not recommend the sushi.
