When staying in Osaka, I always choose a hotel along the Midosuji Line, between Umeda and Namba. The New Otani Osaka in Osaka Castle Park has over 500 rooms, making it a large hotel. However, as someone who doesn't prefer big hotels, both in terms of location and size, it didn't fall into my choice of hotels. This time, while searching for a hotel to stay in Osaka online, I came across a promotional rate for this hotel. It was an attractive rate of 27,000 yen for two people, including breakfast, for a 60m² Junior Suite with a view of Osaka Castle. This may be a limited time offer. We stayed during the Obon period, and the lobby was quite crowded. However, there were plenty of staff, and the service was solid. Room 1424, where we stayed, was a Junior Suite, 60m² in size. It was a spacious room, more like a suite than a Junior Suite. It was divided into a living room and a bedroom. The living room had a large TV, sofa, table, desk, and more. It could easily pass as a room costing 60,000 to 70,000 yen. The view from the room was amazing - Osaka Castle and Osaka Castle Park, with beautiful greenery and high-rise buildings in the background. The night view was also fantastic. The bathroom had a shower area, which I liked, and the interior design was nice. The washroom was spacious, perfect for placing many items. Guests staying in suites like this at this hotel receive Gold Key service, with many perks such as welcome drink service, morning coffee service, shoe shining service, early morning free access to the fitness club, and a complimentary drink at the 18th-floor bar, among others. The stay in this room was excellent. The spacious room made it so comfortable that we felt lazy to go out. As a result, our plan to go out for okonomiyaki in town was suddenly canceled, and we ended up ordering room service in the room. I ordered a mixed sandwich. Ordering room service in a hotel room makes you feel like you are truly enjoying hotel life. If this room can be stayed in at this rate, I would definitely want to stay again.
