Gyukaku is famous for its all-you-can-eat option, but some branches also offer set meals for lunch. The Nakasu branch is one of them. Located along Meiji Avenue, right next to Nakasu Kawabata Station, it's close to the famous Fukuoka yakiniku restaurant "Rikkaen Meiji Avenue branch," but they cater to different customers so there's no competition. I visited at 12:10 for lunch. I checked the lunch set menu on the information board outside the restaurant and then entered. I informed the staff that I was dining alone, and they seated me at a U-shaped table. They explained everything, and I ordered through a touch panel. I had the "Standard 5-item lunch set (980 yen, tax not included)" that I saw on the information board. This kind of consideration is important, and it made me like the place even more. On weekdays, all lunches come with a soup and curry bar. Along with the cold water, you can also help yourself to soup and curry. The lunch set arrived quickly, and I started grilling the meat. The set included pork tongue, marbled kalbi, beef harami, pork kalbi, and pork loin, totaling about 200g. The gas burner was weak, even at its highest setting, so it took a while to cook the thick slices of meat. I ended up eating more curry while waiting. The curry was a keema type with minced meat, not as good as at a specialty store but still tasty. Before I knew it, the curry became the main dish, with a mini chorogi salad and soup as side dishes, and I was snacking on the grilled meat in between. You can get free refills of rice by ordering through the touch panel. The quality of the meat was nothing special, but considering the price, it was good value for money. The total bill was 1,078 yen including tax. The staff were friendly, and I had a pleasant meal. Thank you for the meal.
