Honestly, it's more cost-effective to buy in bulk for take-out, and it's understandable why they are so popular.

The one-plate meal comes with rice and egg soup. If only the ankake (thick sauce) omelette had a bit stronger flavor, it would be even better.

The shumai I ordered was delicious with a chewy meat texture. As expected from a famous pork bun shop, the meat filling was delicious. I actually preferred the shumai over the noodles. There are many Hourai shops in Kansai, and they usually have long lines, but I think this one doesn't have as much of a wait. I bought freshly made pork buns on my last day and enjoyed them.
