Seafood yakisoba is 1050 yen, 2 pieces of shumai are 220 yen, and pork buns are 290 yen. Although there is a clear line for the take-out pork buns, the restaurant also has a solid dining area. The recommended dishes for dining in are the seafood yakisoba and the specialty pork buns, so I ordered those along with the shumai. I thought about ordering some alcohol, but it was overpriced with a limited selection, indicating that they did not focus much on their drinks. To be honest, I felt that I should have just ordered the pork buns, shumai, and added some shrimp shumai. The quality of the pork buns and shumai was outstanding. Personally, I preferred the shumai because the meat flavor came through directly and it was well-seasoned, delicious even without mustard or soy sauce. The pork buns had the same meaty filling and seasoning, with a thick and satisfying outer layer. The slightly sweet and chewy dough was also distinctive. If you're hungry, go for the pork buns as a main dish, and the shumai is great as a snack with drinks. Honestly, it's more cost-effective to buy in bulk for take-out, and it's understandable why they are so popular.

When I eat at 551, I always go for the seafood yakisoba set. It comes with seafood yakisoba and a mini fried rice, although last time there was also a mini Tenshinhan. It wasn't on the menu today. Some stores will cook it on both sides, but not here. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but the turnover is fast and you usually don't have to wait more than 10 minutes. Today, I got seated right away without waiting! By the way, there's always a long line for takeout. The seafood yakisoba here is delicious no matter where or when you eat it! I think it's even better than Butaman... Am I the only one who thinks so? Lately, the restaurant I often go to has been raising their prices. My salary isn't going up though...

It's the well-known 551 Horai shop. At night, there are many solo customers, making it an easy place to enter. The taste is as delicious as always, and I couldn't resist ordering 2 pieces of fried chicken for 220 yen with orders over 850 yen. It has a punchy flavor and is delicious. The one-plate meal comes with rice and egg soup. If only the ankake (thick sauce) omelette had a bit stronger flavor, it would be even better.

Recently, there have been incredibly long lines to buy pork buns. It's gotten even worse since the end of the pandemic. With Golden Week, the lines were already forming before the place even opened. I had seafood yakisoba for the first time in a while, but they no longer offer the option of "both sides grilled noodles." Well, I only ever order steamed noodles anyway, so it's fine with me (laughs). The taste is consistently good. The fried rice is also delicious.

After arriving in Osaka, I noticed a restaurant in this chain that always had a huge line, so I was quite curious. However, I happened to come across a different restaurant that was empty. After finishing my meal and leaving the restaurant, I saw that the original one still had a long line, so I must have timed it right. I ordered pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and gyoza. The pork dumplings had a good texture and were easy to eat without causing heartburn. The shrimp dumplings had a strong shrimp flavor and a great texture. But the most impressive was the gyoza. The crispy filling and thin skin made it so delicious that I could eat them endlessly. It's not easy to find gyoza like this. And the price of 250 yen was also surprising.

I went to 551 in Namba Walk because all the shops near Dotonbori were crowded! When you think of 551, you think of pork buns! I didn't take a photo, but I had one pork bun and a seafood rice bowl! It had a variety of seafood like squid, scallops, shrimp, and vegetables like Chinese cabbage and cabbage mixed well with the sauce and was very delicious!

When it comes to representing souvenirs from Osaka, the pork buns from Hourai are famous. I came to Namba to try them out since I was in Osaka. It was the end of the year and the nearby street shops were closed, so I ended up coming here. There was a relatively short line for a Hourai shop. I ordered the Suratanmen for 950 yen and also got 2 pieces of shumai for 220 yen. I didn't have much knowledge about Hourai other than the pork buns, so I went with the recommended Suratanmen. It came in a large bowl with a sour and spicy soup that warmed me up. Personally, I would have preferred a bit less soup and a stronger flavor for the sauce. The shumai I ordered was delicious with a chewy meat texture. As expected from a famous pork bun shop, the meat filling was delicious. I actually preferred the shumai over the noodles. There are many Hourai shops in Kansai, and they usually have long lines, but I think this one doesn't have as much of a wait. I bought freshly made pork buns on my last day and enjoyed them. The skin and meat filling were both delicious, allowing me to savor this Osaka specialty. Thank you for the meal.

Shortly before noon, I was walking at Namba Walk looking for a place to have lunch. While other restaurants had plenty of available seats, there was a line of 5 people at Hourai. I was going to pass by, but the smell of pork buns tempted me, so I ended up lining up. While waiting for my turn, I was torn between options and ended up choosing the "Mapo Tofu and Egg Rice." The Mapo Tofu was not spicy at all and suitable for everyone, while the egg was fluffy and delicious. Thank you for the meal!

At 551 in Namba Walk, I had pork bun and seafood yakisoba. The pork bun had a relatively large piece of onion which added a nice touch. It was good with a bit of mustard and soy sauce. However, the taste of the onion lingers afterwards. The seafood yakisoba was simply delicious.

In Namba Walk, "551 Horai" is quite crowded during lunchtime. They have a takeout and eat-in corner, and their bento boxes look delicious. You can see some people with suitcases, maybe because there are many tourists. I ordered the sour and spicy noodles, meat buns, fried chicken, and green pepper pork. The sour and spicy noodles were more spicy than sour, with a light texture and a good dashi flavor from dried shiitake mushrooms. The meat buns are always delicious, and it seems like there's no one in Kansai who dislikes them. As for me, I'm neither a fan nor a hater (lol). The fried chicken had a rich flavor but felt a bit over-fried. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

While the main 551 store in Namba's shopping street is always crowded, this one is a hidden gem! It's quite empty! This time, I had the popular menu item, Seafood Yakisoba, for 990 yen. Actually, it was my first time trying the pork bun from 551 Horai. The sweet filling made of pork, combined with the rich meat juice, pairs well with the outer skin. It's also nice when combined with mustard and vinegar. It goes well with alcohol too. The cost performance is good, so it's nice to grab a quick bite or to leisurely enjoy it.

I started by eating the vegetables on top. When I took a bite, the delicious flavor of the vegetables filled my mouth, and I was impressed by the quality of 551 Horai. However, the problem started after that. The noodles were clumpy, and the soup lacked flavor and didn't make a strong impression. I originally wanted to eat soy sauce-flavored ramen, so I felt even more unsatisfied.

I bought only one 551 pork bun today because I'm the only one eating it. I purchased it at the Namba Walk store where they have boxes for single buns. I remembered when I bought 3 pork buns before, they put one in a box for me. It costs 190 yen for one bun. Surprisingly, even with just one bun, the strong smell of 551 pork bun fills the train mercilessly. It was a bit embarrassing, but I pretended not to notice and went home. I'm heating it up now for tonight's dinner. It was delicious. By the way, this store is one of the few 551 Horai locations with a proper restaurant where you can eat in. You can also watch them make the pork buns through a glass window.

It was pouring rain, so naturally I headed to the underground shopping area. I felt like having Chinese food, so I went to 551 right after going down. I had to wait a bit because the seating is limited. I ordered the seafood yakisoba set for ¥1370, which came with a mini Tenshinhan and soup. The seafood yakisoba was delicious with plenty of ingredients. The noodles were not the usual type, but a chewier type commonly found in high-end Chinese restaurants. The chewy noodles paired well with the seafood sauce. The squid was shiny and the dish was loaded with vegetables. I added some spicy mustard from the packet provided for the pork buns for extra flavor. The mini Tenshinhan was more filling than I expected. I was glad I didn't order extra pork buns, as I was already full. I noticed that the pork buns at 551 are ¥190 for takeout and ¥260 for dining in. I wonder what the difference is. Anyway, on my way back, I bought 4 pork buns for ¥190 each and some sweet and sour meatballs to take home. Thank you for the meal!

Hmm... I ordered the Gomoku Tanmen, but it's somehow different... It's sweet... In Kanto, Tanmen is full of vegetables and has a salty taste. I'm used to that taste, so this feels a bit off... It's delicious, but I don't feel like coming back for more. I sat at the counter, and there were acrylic boards for infection prevention. The lady who sat next to me later ordered a set meal, and it looked very delicious and filling! It would be nice if they had a few more menu options!

I forgot to mention one thing. The reason I serve is because I can meet students like you. Hiroki Nagaoka's "Kyojo 2" is a police novel that also works as a school novel. It revolves around police trainees and solving mysteries. The style remains the same as the previous work, with the harshness of instructor Kazama standing out even more. Today, I will visit "Namba Walk Ichiban-gai", which has finally reopened for business on May 21st. It was heartbreaking to see the shuttered shops in that long underground mall. First of all, I am delighted. I wanted to eat ramen, so I headed to "Marusho", but there was a wait to enter. So, I decided to try "551 Horai" on the opposite side. - Gomoku Yumen (870 yen) They also offer a great lunch set, but I stuck to my original plan and ordered the "Gomoku Yumen" from the noodle menu. Oh, what a lovely aroma. A loose ankake sauce with fluffy beaten egg. Rich in ingredients such as pork, shrimp, bamboo shoots, and Chinese cabbage. The light and refreshing aftertaste of the soup. The smooth texture of the medium-thin straight noodles. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Osaka has finally lifted the state of emergency. We still need to be cautious, but we are getting closer to normalcy. Let's continue to strive on our path, without regrets.

I was thinking about going for drinks after work in Namba, but the forecast said it would rain at night, so I decided to drink at home today. While strolling around Namba Walk, I was lured by the sign for pork buns and couldn't resist. I got pork buns, shrimp shumai, dumplings, and sweet and sour dumplings ♥️ The taste is reliably good, ingrained in the DNA of Kansai people. I think I prefer the shumai at Ichifutei though...
