I went to "Shabutei Shimizu-cho Store" in Shinsaibashi for dinner on this day. It was actually recommended by a couple of acquaintances, and I had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious shabu-shabu meal! Thank you! By the way, it was my first time at Shabutei. According to my acquaintances, "There are times when you just crave the sesame sauce here!" I was really looking forward to it. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we saw the sesame sauce making machine right next to the entrance. It is made from 22 types of spices. This raised my expectations. The restaurant was quite spacious, and we were seated on the second floor. We ordered the "Beef Shabu-Jumbo Course" (3,465 yen). The course included an aperitif, a vegetable assortment, meat, udon noodles, and dessert. First, we were served plum wine as an aperitif. When I took a sip, the famous "sesame sauce" was brought out. I tried a little with my chopsticks, and it was delicious! The sesame flavor was amazing, and the sauce was light and flavorful, unlike the thick and strong-tasting store-bought sesame sauces. Adding green onions and shichimi chili pepper enhanced the flavor even more! When dipped in the sauce and eaten with the beef, it was incredibly delicious! Next, the vegetable assortment arrived. And then, the much-awaited "beef shabu" was served. The thinly sliced beef was beautifully red with just the right amount of marbling. We quickly cooked it in the individual pots provided, dipped it in the sesame sauce, and enjoyed it. Delicious! This sesame sauce is quite addictive. Whenever it got a bit diluted with the broth in the pot, we immediately poured more and added condiments to continue enjoying the delicious sauce. We all felt like eating more rice because of this sauce, but we couldn't (or rather, we didn't order more) because the "udon" was served as the final course. It was just right to balance out our stomachs. Lastly, we had dessert, which was ice cream. It was a refreshing finish to the meal. The course menu was thoughtful and satisfying until the end. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again!

I was surprised to see that the whole building is like a shabu-shabu restaurant. This time, I was guided to the third floor. It's a semi-private table seat. You can feel at ease here. The shabu-shabu is served in a one-person pot style. Both meat and vegetables are served per person. Rice is free to refill. Unfortunately, the rice was a bit hard, but they also sell it. The unique feature here is the "sesame sauce" and "ponzu sauce." I usually don't like sesame sauce, but this one was light and delicious. You can also have udon, and the portion of meat is very satisfying. It's a popular place, so the staff are busy and there's a lot of hustle and bustle, especially near the serving area.

I have been coming here for many years, always ordering the double portion, but today I ordered a single. In recent years, I have been disappointed that thinly sliced pork shabu-shabu shrinks to the size of a thumb. We ordered the usual top sirloin beef shabu-shabu course, which came with a complimentary plate of seasonal vegetables. We started with sesame sauce, ponzu sauce, and plum wine as an aperitif. Then we enjoyed the vegetables, the complimentary plate of seasonal vegetables (eggplant), and finally the meat cooked in a copper pot at our table. The meat was tender and flavorful, especially when dipped in the rich sesame sauce. The vegetables were refreshing with a tangy ponzu sauce. We ended the meal with udon noodles in a savory broth and almond milk ice cream for dessert. Overall, it was a satisfying birthday celebration with delicious food and great value, just like the other shabu-shabu restaurants we've been to in the city.

Had dinner at Shabutei. I had the Jumbo Course which includes double the amount of regular beef shabu-shabu. It's a great deal. The course included plum wine as an aperitif, a vegetable platter, beef, udon noodles, and sherbet for dessert. I enjoyed the meal with a Swiss friend tonight. We dipped the meat in sesame sauce with a little grated garlic and shichimi, and towards the end, we enjoyed it with a light ponzu sauce. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It includes pork shabu-shabu, beef shabu-shabu, assorted vegetables, tofu, Chinese cabbage, rice cakes, udon, and rice. It's a simple menu, but that's what's great about it. The portions of pork and beef shabu-shabu are quite large for one person! I thought I wouldn't be able to finish even one serving, but I ended up having about 3 plates of meat by myself, along with rice and udon for dessert (laughs). The pork shabu-shabu is incredibly delicious and easy to eat without any strong flavors. The Chinese cabbage is consistently tasty. I could eat it endlessly (laughs). The udon noodles are very thick! Everything is just delicious. The sesame sauce is also amazing, they pay a lot of attention to it. I can add as much garlic, chili pepper, and green onions as I like. The ponzu sauce is for the vegetables! The deliciousness is totally understandable considering the line. I definitely want to go back! 😊

We were in a celebratory mood, so we ordered from the grand menu that we love so much. I had the Premium Black Wagyu Beef Shabu-Shabu Jumbo Course for 7,326 yen, while my wife had the Premium Black Wagyu Beef Shabu-Shabu Course for 4,048 yen. My wife, being a light eater, only had a bite of rice and gave me most of her udon, so I ended up eating too much. My stomach was 1.5 times bigger than when I entered the restaurant. It's cheap and delicious shabu-shabu! I wanted to eat a lot, so I chose the size with more meat. I couldn't drink alcohol before the meal, so they kindly changed it to orange juice for me. I'd like to visit other branches as well.

The udon broth and sesame sauce were excellent. The restaurant has a luxurious atmosphere and is clean, making it more reassuring than regular all-you-can-eat or budget restaurants. It's been about a year since my last visit. This time, I had the special mixed set meal with beef and pork at Niku to Buta no Aimori. The famous sesame sauce, mixed with garlic, shichimi, and plenty of green onions, was so delicious that I could eat it on its own. So, today I had a highball as my drink, but personally, I wish there was an option for a stronger taste.
