Daruma Katsudaru Cross Chayamachi Branch
Located behind Hankyu International in Nakatsu, this is a branch of the Daruma restaurant chain. The katsu set costs around 2500 yen, and since I came by bike, I couldn't drink alcohol, so I ordered a black oolong tea for 350 yen first. The set includes doteyaki, which is quite reasonable. The katsu can be eaten in about 15 minutes, with the taste being the reliable Daruma quality. The sauce is not the type where double dipping is prohibited, but rather the type you pour over the katsu. Perhaps due to the impact of COVID-19, it's understandable that they have to take precautions against mischief.

The restaurant was clean and the staff worked efficiently. They even provided guidance on how to eat the food. I ordered the kushikatsu course in advance and it was served in two separate rounds. However, it cooled down while I was chatting with my friends. Customers without reservations at the counter on the first floor were enjoying their hot kushikatsu, which looked delicious. It was a shame that the course did not include pickled ginger. Overall, it was a great experience at Daruma!

I stopped by on my way back from a business trip before 6pm on Monday and had to wait for about 10 minutes as there were 2 groups ahead of me. I placed my order using the monitor, and the red pickled ginger skewers were particularly delicious and unique to Osaka. I am considering coming back again. Thank you very much!

I came to eat Daruma-san's kushikatsu after several years. For reservations, you need to order a set menu of at least 1500 yen per person. Everything was crispy and I felt like I could eat as many as I wanted. For those who like sweet things, I recommend the unique sweet potato kushikatsu.

When visiting Osaka, I always make sure to try the Daruma kushikatsu. This time, I visited the Cross Chayamachi branch for the first time. I like the classic options, so I went for the set menu for a good deal! Maybe due to the pandemic, they served the sauce in a pour-over style instead of the usual dipping sauce, which was reassuring.

On the last day in Osaka, I had a lively dinner at the popular kushikatsu chain restaurant "Kushi-katsu Daruma" in Umeda Chayamachi, known for its rule of "no double-dipping in the sauce". The exterior of the restaurant had a stylish design, giving off a new vibe. We were seated on the second floor after passing through the counter-only first floor. While they had QR code menus, you could still order verbally and there were paper menus available. Although I didn't try everything, here are some items we ordered: original kushikatsu for ¥143 each, mozzarella, camembert, and gouda kushikatsu for ¥198 each, and chicken kushikatsu for ¥352. We also had lotus root for ¥132 and chicken soup noodles for ¥440. For drinks, we had a double highball for ¥715. The sauce bottle with "no double-dipping" written on it was amusing. It was just a simple measure for COVID-19, but it was fun to catch up and have enjoyable conversations on my last day in Osaka.

I wanted to eat Daruma kushikatsu, so I first went to the Lucua store in Umeda, but the line was unbelievably long. I called the store in Cross Chayamachi and they said there was no wait, so I immediately moved there. The Daruma kushikatsu, after a long time, was delicious as always, and I was impressed by the great value for money! I also used a coupon for national travel support, so it was a fulfilling trip to Osaka ☺︎

I walked 3 kilometers from home to my destination and came across Kushi Katsu Daruma. Thanks to seeing the restaurant on the morning TV show "Seyanen Dokoi?" I was in the mood for kushi katsu. I planned to have 2-3 skewers with a beer, but ended up eating 7 skewers in total. The interior of the restaurant is clean, the batter is light and crispy, and the food is delicious and convenient. I decided to visit again. I used to have a bad impression of the taste in the past, but I realized that big companies put in a lot of effort. However, the highball lacked carbonation and the alcohol was very weak. I hope they can improve on this! Thank you for the meal.

This is a famous kushikatsu chain restaurant located in front of Chayamachi and Umeda Arts Theater. It's non-smoking, which is great. The kushikatsu itself costs around 100-200 yen per skewer, which is a good deal. However, the alcohol is not that cheap. The kushikatsu is crispy, freshly fried, and delicious. The wait time from ordering to serving is quite fast, so you don't have to wait long. You can order just one skewer, but they also have assorted platters and other side dishes. The first floor has a counter, and the second floor has table seating. You need to inform the staff, but you can also order using a QR code from your smartphone.

I visited a chain kushikatsu restaurant recommended by a friend!
Atmosphere: The first floor has a counter, and the second floor has table seats. You can place your order by telling the staff or by scanning a QR code with your smartphone (I used the QR code method after seeing a flyer in the restaurant).
Menu:
- Original kushikatsu 130 yen (sauce)
- Pork katsu 130 yen (sauce)
- Mochi 120 yen (salt)
- Mozzarella cheese 180 yen (salt)
- Cheese 130 yen (salt)
- Squid 130 yen (sauce/salt)
- Lotus root 120 yen (salt)
- Quail egg 120 yen (sauce)
- Ginger ale 300 yen
- Cabbage (free refill)
Even if you order separately, the items come on the same tray, so it's better to separate your order when the staff explains each item. The kushikatsu was crispy and delicious!

When I visited Osaka for sightseeing, I used to come here to eat kushikatsu late at night, so I came back after a long time ⭐️ My favorite is especially the mozzarella cheese. The original kushikatsu is also a classic and delicious choice. It's a shame that due to the influence of Corona, we can't dip it in the 'Japan' sauce anymore.

New World Set. + Red Ginger When visiting Osaka, if possible, stop by a kushikatsu restaurant and try the red ginger skewers (•ө•)♡ While kushikatsu restaurants are increasing nationwide, there are quite a few that don't have red ginger on the menu. I recommend trying the skewers with natural shrimp. They are more plump and shrimpy than you can imagine.

There is a kushikatsu restaurant within walking distance from Umeda Station. They offer assorted platters, set menus, and individual items. In my opinion, kushikatsu is one of Osaka's representative dishes. You can now enjoy it in Tokyo as well, without having to go to Shinsekai. When it comes to Osaka's kushikatsu, red pickled ginger is a must! I personally like red pickled ginger on its own, but when paired with fried food, it adds a refreshing touch. The crispy coating and the refreshing red pickled ginger combination are just perfect! One of my companions wanted gari (pickled ginger) as well, but unfortunately, it wasn't on the menu. As for me, as long as there's a highball, I'm happy. Good food always makes conversations more enjoyable. I recently had a business trip to Osaka and was treated to a delicious kushikatsu meal. Osaka locals are great at conversation, although they might have just been entertaining me. Overall, the kushikatsu, especially the red pickled ginger kushikatsu, was delicious. It was a bit sad that due to COVID-19 precautions, the sauce was in a pour-over style instead of the traditional dipping style. But that's understandable. Thank you for the meal!

I always pass by this restaurant on my way to and from the gym. I know I shouldn't eat today, I should go to the gym. However, after thinking of various excuses, I decide to enter the restaurant. It's been months since I had kushikatsu, so as soon as I enter, my excitement levels skyrocket. I order a Premium Malt beer and mainly choose beef kushikatsu along with other items I like. The Daruma kushikatsu, which I haven't had in over three years, seems to have thinner batter. It's hard to tell since I haven't had it in a while. The batter seems to have some flavor too? Is the sauce also stronger? It feels like a taste geared towards younger people. No wonder there are so many young customers here.

Kushikatsu Daruma Cross Chayamachi Store New World Set 9 Skewers + 1 Item ¥1540
Located about a 5-minute walk from Umeda Station, this restaurant offers a variety of kushikatsu skewers. When visiting Osaka, I decided to try their set menu instead of choosing individual items. The sauce was provided in plastic containers for hygiene purposes, allowing customers to pour it themselves. The skewers were crispy and not too greasy, making it easy to enjoy. By the end of the meal, I was satisfied and full. I realized that I also enjoy vegetable and seafood kushikatsu, not just meat. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Hello. It's me. Today's start is the happiness of watching the credits until the end in the movie theater. New World Set 1,540 yen, Doteyaki 330 yen, Draft Beer 594 yen. When it comes to kushikatsu in Osaka, it's Daruma. I visited after a long time. The batter was crispy and delicious as usual. As always, I eat it with cabbage and sauce, but my friend from Kanto seemed to have difficulty doing so. It would be better if it had more of a casual feel. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a set of kushikatsu for around 1400 yen since it was past lunchtime. I was happy that they brought them freshly fried. The set also came with doteyaki. It seems like a good option to have a few pieces when you're feeling a bit hungry. The restaurant is conveniently located in front of Umeda Arts Theater, so it's easy to visit before or after a show. I would like to try their affordable lunch menu next time.

Wow! Wish! Demon Slayer⁉️ I passed by and couldn't help but do a double-take... burst out laughing and ended up going inside! Got the usual Dotonbori set with Doteyaki ★ Skewers of pork cutlet, natural shrimp, quail egg, asparagus, rice cake, pork cutlet, wiener, cheese fish cake, chicken meatball, pork belly, cheese, sweet potato + choose a speed menu for 1,800 yen. For now, the sauce is in a squeeze bottle for hygiene ♡ I hope they keep this style even after COVID ends!

Kushi Katsu Daruma-san is a popular restaurant in Shinsekai known for their skewered cutlets. I happened to be near Hankyu Umeda for work, so I decided to try their lunch menu. It was around 11:30 am and I was the first customer. Upon entering, I was prompted to sanitize my hands, and clear boards were placed every two seats at the counter for COVID-19 prevention, which made me feel safe. I sat at the counter and was handed the lunch menu. The options included:
- Kushi Katsu Lunch (5 skewers) - 880 yen
- Daruma Lunch (4 skewers) - 780 yen
- Doteyaki Curry - 880 yen
- Daruma Curry - 680 yen
- Croquette Curry - 780 yen
- Katsu Curry - 980 yen
I decided to go for the Kushi Katsu Lunch. It came with skewers (original kushi katsu, asparagus, smelt fish, pork cutlet, natural shrimp), shredded cabbage, macaroni salad, 2 rice balls (salmon, bonito flakes), and miso soup. Due to the new coronavirus, the sauce was in a pourable style rather than dipping. The original kushi katsu had a crispy coating and the beef was small but tasty, a standard at Shinsekai's Kushi Katsu. The sauce was not easily distributed since it was pourable, so the overall taste felt a bit light. The other skewers like smelt fish and shrimp were delicious, with a nice texture. The pork cutlet was also tasty, even better than the beef skewer. The rice balls were fluffy and moist, adding to the meal. It was a satisfying experience to enjoy kushi katsu for lunch. Thank you for the meal!

I lined up at Maito and Men-suke to eat Irig soba, then went to Kushi Katsu Daruma. This is my usual pattern when I visit Osaka. The branch in Chayamachi is right in front of Umeda Arts Theater, so I often go there before watching a play. Even though it's fried food, it's not greasy at all and I can eat as much as I want. I've tried to replicate it at home, but I just can't. It's a taste that you can only experience in Osaka. However, I've been to a few other branches of this restaurant and the service... well, let's just say it's not so friendly. Most of the staff are not very welcoming. It would be nice if they could show a bit more of a smile.
