I visited because I heard that you can eat kushikatsu near the live venue. First of all, the staff was very friendly and kind. The assorted kushikatsu I ordered had "Welcome to Osaka ♡" written on it along with the name of the live event I attended, which made me happy. And it was incredibly delicious! About a 2-minute walk from Shin-Fukushima Station. I visited this izakaya with a rating of 3.26 on Tabelog, known for its kushikatsu and motsunabe. The restaurant is marked by a large Moai statue outside. Inside, there are many Moai statues, giving it a typical izakaya atmosphere. I was seated at the counter as a solo diner, where there were limited special menu items. I ordered a highball, a plate of 5 assorted kushikatsu for 600 yen, katsu udon for 600 yen, and onigiri for 200 yen. The kushikatsu had a crispy coating with a fruity sweet sauce, very delicious. The katsu udon had a mediocre broth and soy sauce, and the "katsu" had a slight unpleasant smell. The udon noodles were thin like Inaniwa udon. The staff was friendly and attentive. It's a place where even solo diners can feel at home. While the dinner could have been better, it's a good spot for a casual drink and meal. Thank you for the meal.

Kushikatsu, katsu udon, and kusu motsu nabe can all be eaten at once, and the fact that it's cheap is a big plus. The entrance to the restaurant is decorated in a Showa-era style, and you are greeted with a cheerful welcome as you are shown to the second-floor seating area. Going up the stairs, you enter a large hall, but it feels like you are the only customer there (laughs). The super cheap course dishes keep coming - appetizers, decent sashimi, enjoyed with Kyushu soy sauce, perfectly crispy fried squid, and the classic Osaka skewers with shrimp, chicken, and lotus root. Up until this point, it's pretty standard like anywhere else, but the kusu motsu nabe and katsu udon show the restaurant's attention to detail. The kusu motsu nabe is delicious with chewy motsu (offal) and a well-balanced blend miso broth. The chewy horumon (offal), kusu (small intestines), garlic chives, make for a great snack. The broth was rich and tasty! Kusu is fried beef small intestines, which apparently can only be obtained from one cow in 2 kilograms. It's less chewy and less gamey than horumon, making it easy to eat and delicious. Once the nabe is finished, you add udon noodles, creating katsu udon - although it felt a bit like we were being tricked by just adding noodles, it was cheap so we'll go with it (laughs). Despite feeling full, we managed to finish everything smoothly. This is a great option for when you're not feeling very hungry. On our way out, the manager and staff saw us off, which seems to be common courtesy in Osaka. We left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I got off at the station and headed towards a famous udon restaurant, passing by it on the way. The place I went to seemed like a nighttime izakaya but was open for lunch. I ordered the katsu udon set meal, which came with a choice of fried rice or inari sushi. I chose the fried rice, and soon the udon arrived. The noodles were thin and when I tried them, the flavor of the oil and katsu spread nicely. The noodles were not bad, but I thought they might be dry noodles. However, today I enjoyed the flavor and umami of the oil and katsu broth. The noodles were crispy on the outside and juicy with flavor, delicious! I also had the fried rice while enjoying the udon. It was a delightful meal. After eating, I was served with either iced coffee or oolong tea.

During the wait at the hospital, I dashed to a nearby restaurant for lunch. I tried the lunch special at this izakaya that I've been curious about. Today's special was my favorite, "kitsune udon". For the rice option, I chose "inari sushi". The udon noodles were thin and the kitsune was lightly sweet. It was so comforting. The inari sushi rice was mixed with various ingredients and was delicious. After the meal, they also served coffee or oolong tea. I was feeling very hungry and impatient, but after eating plenty of inari sushi, I was completely satisfied. I hope to come back next time for a leisurely drink.

In October 2020, I met up with some acquaintances in the area around Fukushima Station and had a great time catching up. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had significantly reduced our outings, so this reunion was even more lively than before. We started off with highball drinks in large glasses and squid skewers (10 pieces), then moved on to extra-large highball drinks. For snacks, we ordered 7 eggs and 2 blocks of thick fried tofu from the oden menu. The eggs in the oden were the perfect way to end the night. The soy sauce on the cold tofu was sweet and delicious, and I noticed a bottle of "Martani soy sauce" from Miyazaki prefecture on the table. The bottle had a slogan that read, "Taste is number one, phone is number two." It reminded me of the jingle "Castella is number one, phone is number two, 3 o'clock snack is Bunmeido."

You can choose between mixed rice or inari sushi, but be aware that after 1 pm, the inari sushi often runs out. In this restaurant, you can only order either the fried chicken set meal or the curry udon set meal for 800 yen. The curry udon has a perfect balance of sweet oil and spicy curry, creating a mysteriously delicious dish that will make you want to come back for more.

The restaurant has a fun atmosphere with lots of Easter Island Moai statues and a clock that chimes at 12:00. It seems like it would be a great place to visit for dinner too.

Udon and fried chicken set is a great combination, both are delicious. Especially with onigiri, it's the best. The udon here is thin noodles and the curry udon is also tasty. It's a good place to go when you want a hearty meal. I have been here many times.

We were looking for a restaurant for our group of 10 and decided to make a reservation at this place. The first floor had a counter and table seats, while the second floor had traditional Japanese tatami seating. We had booked a course menu but ended up adding one more person and upgrading to a drink-all-you-can option, which they accommodated without any issues. I wished the seats in the tatami room were sunken kotatsu style, but the food was delicious and the closing udon noodles were amazing. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. We will definitely visit again!

On 12/26/2022 (Monday) at 19:30, the children came to play, so we had kushikatsu in the Fukushima area. They also have motsunabe with plenty of offal, and other appetizers are delicious too. We finished with ojiya, and the children were also satisfied.
