I passed by a cafe that I was curious about, so I decided to stop by. I got a chocolate cookie to go. Each block was big and satisfying to eat, and it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating and finished it in just a few minutes.

I visited for the second time this year, and even though it was past 6 p.m. on a weekday, the restaurant was still open. Since it was before dinner time, I had to give up on the mousse again and only bought the chocolate cookies. When asked about my return home time, I replied and they kindly provided me with an ice pack (they didn't ask last time in May). These chocolates are perfect for when you want to indulge a little.

Chocolate mousse ¥460 This is my second time here. Last time, I bought a chocolate cookie and it was so delicious that I was deeply impressed. This time, I tried the chocolate mousse, and it was also a big hit!! First of all, the mousse has a three-layer structure, with a slightly bitter firm layer on top, a sweet and smooth layer in the middle, and a soft layer of chocolate sponge cake at the bottom. The moment you put it in your mouth, it melts~!! The smooth texture was incredibly delicious. It's not too sweet and the different textures make it very easy to eat. I highly recommend this. The staff is consistently amazing, with a lovely grandmother providing excellent service. I will definitely go back!

Located quietly between Karasuma and Kawaramachi, next to a northbound apartment building, is a sweets shop. No waiting at 4:00 PM on Sundays. They ask you to wear a mask and leave the door open when entering. They only have chocolate cookies, but I bought them as planned. They come with ice packs, which are essential in this heat. They also asked me to leave the door open when leaving. I think they're being considerate because everyone is being more relaxed about hygiene now. When I got home, I tried the cookies. They were more like brownies - a rich chocolate dough with chocolate chips baked in. They were big and had a strong, bitter taste. I think they would go well with a strong coffee. They were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Located in Ebisuya-cho, Kyoto, "Cake & Cookie Lindenbaum" is a place I always visit for souvenirs when in Kyoto. It is a simple and stylish small shop. I purchased the chocolate cookies (760 yen), where one bag contains six cube-shaped cookies. The texture is more like a gateau chocolat, crumbling in your mouth and spreading sweetness, bringing a sense of bliss. It's a favorite delicacy that I wish was closer by. Just one is enough to satisfy, as it is truly delicious.

Delicious chocolate cookie shop! I saw it on Tabelog and decided to try it out. The elderly couple running the shop require masks to be worn. I had lost my mask somewhere, but they kindly helped me at the entrance. The kind and friendly lady was wonderful! The chocolate cookies were more like brownies than cookies! It was the perfect shop for a chocolate lover like me! I will definitely go back again!

Chocolate cookies for ¥760 at Sanjo, near Teramachi shopping street. I've passed by many times and didn't know this shop existed! It's a small shop run by a grandma. The chocolate cookies are ¥760 for a pack of 6. Honestly, it's a bit pricey, but they were amazing! They're called cookies, but the texture is moist, like a gateau chocolat or brownie. Rich and dense, which I really liked! Not too sweet, with chunks of chocolate for a crunchy texture. So delicious, I will definitely buy them again!

〜information〜Takeout Chocolate Cookie〜memo〜This was a souvenir from Kyoto. I was not familiar with the shop, but after seeing several reviews from gourmet friends, I understood that it is a popular store. I need to study Kyoto sweets more. I tried their signature chocolate cookie, which was a mysterious sweet. I chilled it in the refrigerator before eating, and it tasted more like a brownie than a cookie. Or maybe it was a moist cookie? But still, it felt more like a brownie?... I had a mini panic in my head. This cookie was unlike anything I had seen or tasted before, making it interesting and fun as a gift. The fact that it needs to be refrigerated is a downside, but it seems to have a shelf life of about 10 days. Oh, but it might be tough in the upcoming season...

The chewy texture is amazing!! People who love eating cookie dough raw will absolutely love it haha. It feels like the ultimate chewiness of macarons and dacquoise, very satisfying ☺️ I'll try buying the mousse next time. Note that it seems you can't enter the store without wearing a mask.

Whenever I go to Kyoto recently, I always buy Lindenbaum's chocolate cookies (720 yen). They are so delicious and addictive. The texture is moist, more like a gateau au chocolat than a cookie. They crumble easily, with chunks of chocolate inside, spreading a gentle sweetness in your mouth. Just one is enough to satisfy with its deliciousness.

When I was in Sendai, I went to eat Devil's Cake. When I bought cookies, I had a little chat with the staff, and it seems like many people who have known the shop since the Sendai days also come here. Delicious stuff! Additional note: I usually only have cake, but this was my first time trying the cookies, and they were so moist, almost like a Gâteau au Chocolat! They were incredibly delicious! I want to go buy them again soon!

Lindenbaum in Kyoto's Ebisuyacho. I revisited because I loved the chocolate cookies last time. The chocolate cookie (720 yen) was delightful as always. This time, I also tried the chocolate mousse (430 yen). Layers of chocolate mousse and chocolate sponge beneath a rich chocolate layer - a chocolate lover's dream. The creamy mousse with a mild sweetness was exceptional. The different textures of the chocolate sponge combined to create a heavenly deliciousness.

In Kyoto's Ebisuya-cho, "Cake & Cookie Lindenbaum" has moved from Sendai, a popular shop. With a simple and stylish exterior, the showcase inside the store features only three items: chocolate cookies, chocolate mousse, and mascarpone brulee. I purchased the chocolate cookies (690 yen) and was told to keep them in the refrigerator. The bag contains six cube-shaped cookies. They have a moist texture and contain chunks of chocolate, more like a gateau chocolat than a cookie. They crumble easily, spreading sweetness in the mouth, a blissful experience. Even one is satisfyingly delicious.

Located between Nijo Market and Sanjo, this quaint confectionery shop is nestled around Rokkaku Gokomachi area. It's a takeout-only store with just a sales space. I visited in the early evening on a weekday. They have crème brûlée and mousse, but they seemed hard to eat on the spot, so I bought some chocolate cookies for souvenirs. They come in a pack of 6, and they are big and dense, more like chocolate-filled brownies. There's plenty of chocolate chunks inside, making them satisfying to eat. Considering the price, they offer good value for the volume. They are quite big for one person to finish alone, so they are perfect to share with family. I'd like to try their crème brûlée next time.

Located on the south side of Kyoto City Hall, on the west side of Teramachi Shopping Street, in a regular apartment building on the first floor. I've been here many times before, but this is my first time writing on Tabelog. I bought the famous chocolate cookies (6 pieces, ¥690) that I heard about from word of mouth and took them home. Each cookie is quite large. They use plenty of fermented butter, giving it a texture that's like a cross between a cookie and a brownie. Must be refrigerated. I enjoyed it very much.

My wife found this place and it's a small shop on the first floor of an apartment building. The couple who run the shop are really nice and made us feel happy. The chocolate is so delicious. The chunks inside add a nice accent and make it really tasty. It's perfect for souvenirs.

(From a blog post) Today, while in the Sanjo Kawaramachi area, I stopped by a popular Western confectionery shop. Cake&Cookie Lindenbaum is located on Gokomachi Street, with a sign out front. Many people I follow on Tabelog have been to this shop, so I've been curious about it for a while. The shop has a stylish atmosphere with a small sales space inside. It seems to be a takeout-only shop. They offer only three items: chocolate mousse, mascarpone brulee, and chocolate cookies. The recommended item is the chocolate cookie made with plenty of milk and eggs. I purchased that and took it home. The staff explained that it's fine to keep it at room temperature, but it's better to refrigerate it. When I got home, I tried it right away. The chocolate cookie bag contained six chocolate blocks. It's more like a cube resembling a brownie rather than a cookie. The chocolate chunks were inside the dough. The dough was dense, making it quite chewy. I cut it with a knife to figure out how to eat it. It's not too sweet and has a rich chocolate flavor. Cutting one into three pieces made it easier to eat. I enjoyed it over a few days!

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station, Cake & Cookie Lindenbaum is a popular sweets shop specializing in take-out treats. You can purchase large chocolate cookies that can last up to 10 days when stored in the refrigerator, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy sweets at home over multiple occasions. This time, I bought the popular menu item, the chocolate cookie. The large chocolate cookie, too big to finish in just two bites, had a moist texture like a chocolate cake, with chocolate chips adding a wonderful accent. It paired perfectly with black tea, making it an ideal sweet treat. If you love sweets made with chocolate, be sure to visit. Thank you for the delicious treat!
