It's been a while! It's a bit pricey, but the meat is still tender and delicious. As for the sauce, I prefer the tonkatsu sauce over the miso. I wasn't sure if refills were allowed here, but the initial portion of rice served was a bit small even for a woman like me...

It's been a while since I had a day off, so I decided to go to Yabaton. A few days ago, I was talking with a friend about miso flavor, and it made me crave something miso-flavored. After having miso stew udon yesterday, today I went to Yabaton for miso katsu. However, I don't like it when the miso sauce is already poured over the dish. To me, Yabaton's miso sauce is too light. So, I ordered tonkatsu without miso sauce and separately ordered "dote-ni." Then, I put the dote-ni on top of the tonkatsu and ate it. It was pure bliss. The leftover dote-ni I put on top of rice, which was even more blissful. I want to go back soon to enjoy this combination again.

Today's lunch was at Yabaton for miso katsu. There was a wait before entering, as expected. I ordered the Yabaton Sanmai set (2300 yen) with a choice of rock salt or original sauce. I tried the rock salt with green shiso dressing, which was especially delicious on the cabbage. I left feeling full and satisfied.

I tried this restaurant for the first time after being impressed by the miso sauce in a bento box I bought. The prices are quite high, around 2000 yen for anything other than a donburi. I decided to try the premium rib tonkatsu (200g) cooked on a hot plate. The miso sauce was poured in front of me, and it was surprisingly light despite covering the entire tonkatsu. I wished there was a bit more sauce in some areas. The tonkatsu itself was not tough to chew, but I felt that for the price, the quality was not exceptional. I would have preferred if the cabbage underneath was seasoned, or if there was sauce available on the table. Overall, I felt that a tonkatsu from a specialized tonkatsu restaurant would have been more satisfying at a lower price. I did enjoy the miso sauce, though, and would have been happy just buying that. The service was decent, with one staff member being attentive while the other seemed a bit indifferent.

It is located inside a department store, so it gives off a slightly luxurious feel. I thought it would be more down-to-earth. The taste was really good, with the tonkatsu having a thin coating that allows you to really taste the meat. I had the Yabaton Sumptuous Set. The miso katsu was served piping hot on a bed of cabbage with a generous amount of sauce. There were 4 sauce options to choose from, so it was not boring. I chose the slightly watery Worcestershire sauce and rock salt. Rice and cabbage were free refills, which was nice. Even the chairs had Yabaton characters on them, which was cute.

The beef tripe stew here is a must-order, but today's was a bit cold. I debated whether to ask for it to be reheated or not. It would be fine if served on warm rice. The tonkatsu was not cold and was delicious. The rice was also warm, so I enjoyed the stew as well. However, I remember last time there was a notice at the entrance saying they were short-staffed. I hope they improve soon.

When I opened the lid of the rice, I thought the amount was very small (about half of a typical set meal). I had to adjust while eating. When I was down to the last piece of food and one bite of rice, the staff asked me if I wanted a rice refill. I wish they had mentioned it when serving the food. I would have been happier if there was a bit more from the start. Was it because I am a woman that I was given less? It's quite expensive at 2,400 yen, so it's a bit disappointing. The fried food was delicious and hot.

For my last lunch of the year, I had some business at Daimaru Shinsaibashi store, so I decided to have an early lunch at Yabaton. I started with doteni and a highball, followed by a jumbo shrimp fry. For my main dish, I had the Waraji Katsu set with half miso sauce and half regular sauce over rice. I will definitely be visiting again next year!

Located on the 10th floor of the main building of Daimaru Shinsaibashi in Osaka, "Misokatsu Yabaton" offers a "Rosu Tonkatsu Set" for ¥1500 and a "Crab Cream Croquette" for ¥700. The Rosu Tonkatsu is tender and juicy, with a sweet miso sauce poured over it. It's a delight to enjoy Nagoya-style miso katsu in Osaka. The Crab Cream Croquette is served as a snack with three pieces on a plate, featuring a crispy outer layer and a flavorful crab cream filling. The cozy atmosphere and well-separated seating made it a comfortable and safe dining experience during these times.

Lately, it seems like the number of Yabaton restaurants in Osaka has been increasing. The customer service and hospitality feel a bit different from typical Osaka style, leaving a good impression. The two types of miso katsu with rich sauce and juicy, tender tonkatsu are excellent.

I ordered the Yabaton Sanmai set for 2200 yen, which includes loin, fillet, and a mini teppanyaki tonkatsu. Hmm, it was just okay. Both the loin and fillet were tough and lacked flavor. The teppanyaki tonkatsu was also not that great. I want to try the higher-priced black pork menu next time and then give it another chance.

The last time I visited was in November last year, so it's been a while. Today I had a solo lunch, so I ordered a small size of Doteni. I started with a Highball. I ordered the Mixed Fry today because I wanted to eat Ebi Fry and I like Cream Croquette for some random reason. But the Cream Croquette was delicious too. The Ebi Fry had a good texture as well. Of course, the Tonkatsu was also good. I poured a little bit of Doteni over the rice... Mmm, satisfied. Whenever I enjoy red miso dishes, I think to myself that I'm glad I was born in Nagoya.

At first, I was planning to go to the shop next to this one, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, each person must have an acrylic partition, even if they are family members living together, as required by Daimaru Department Store. So, until the end of the pandemic, I decided to avoid that shop and visited Yabaton within the same Daimaru Department Store, where the restrictions are more relaxed. For our family, having a drink is essential for lunch. Ordering like at an izakaya is normal for us, so if individuals are strictly separated, where would we put the sashimi platter? This shop allows two people to sit diagonally at a 4-person table, so we don't mind the partitions. Anyway, setting aside the COVID-19 situation... the "Doteni" we ordered was amazing. It's fantastic. Just this alone makes you want to keep drinking endlessly. The rice doesn't stop either. Since it's a tonkatsu restaurant, we also had tonkatsu, of course. I chose the type with miso sauce (I'm not a fan of putting miso sauce on it). This tonkatsu is delicious too. As someone born in Nagoya, I get super excited when I eat dishes with red miso. I will definitely go back again.

I suddenly felt like eating, so I visited Yabaton. It was a Friday evening around 8 pm, but there were few customers and I was able to enter smoothly. The staff's service was also good and I was satisfied. As for the tonkatsu, both the sauce and miso were very delicious! You can choose between white rice and mixed grain rice, and I chose mixed grain rice. You can also have unlimited refills of rice and side pickles, so I was quite satisfied. I would like to go again.

■Superb Rib Tonkatsu ¥2,000■Waraji Tonkatsu ¥2,000. The Rib Tonkatsu is overwhelmingly delicious...♥︎♥︎ Thick and tender meat!!!. The Waraji Tonkatsu is famous, so I was really torn, but I'm glad I went with the Rib!! The Waraji is also tasty, but it has a bit more chew and a stronger lean meat flavor. If you want to eat a lot, this might be the way to go٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و. Both dishes are very generous in portion size, haha. I'd like to try the Kurobuta (black pork) since it seems to be recommended, but even the regular tonkatsu was plenty deliciousꪔ̤̮♡. Honestly, I prefer it over the famous miso katsu I had in Nagoya♡٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و. I'm a miso katsu beginner, but compared to the one I had at another restaurant, Yabaton's version feels richer in flavor♡. You get unlimited refills on 3 types of side dishes, and rice refills are free✧. It's great for men︎! I will definitely go back again♡ ´‐

I wanted to have miso katsu don for my meal, but it wasn't listed on the menu I received, so I ended up ordering the loin katsu set meal for ¥1500 with multigrain rice. It was still as delicious and sweet as ever. The rice was so good that I couldn't stop eating! I also had extra multigrain rice and cabbage during the meal, and finished with a full stomach. There weren't many other customers this time, so the staff seemed to focus on me, which was lucky. I found out later that this time, unlike my previous visit, I could have ordered the pie that was previously only available for those who reserved it. I was a little disappointed when I realized that. Someday, I will definitely try it!笑

Yabaton Sammai set for 2200 yen. Natural jumbo shrimp fry for 1400 yen. It was my first time at a branch other than the main store. I tried the fillet, loin, and teppan miso cutlets, each about one-third of the portion. The teppan-grilled cabbage was sweet and delicious. The shrimp fry would be even better if it was a bit larger. The teppan ribs seem to be a good choice.

This is a review of Yabaton located in Daimaru Shinsaibashi. In Osaka, due to the shortened business hours until 8:00 PM, I found myself having dinner at 7:20 PM. Since the last entry time was 7:30 PM, I decided to dine at this restaurant. I ordered the rib roast cutlet with their famous miso sauce. The meat was surprisingly tender and delicious! The miso sauce was sweeter than I expected, but it paired well with the rice and was delicious. The elderly gentleman who served us was very polite and hospitable. However, I noticed that despite the large number of customers, there was only one elderly male staff member in the dining area, which seemed to be an impossible situation for him to handle alone. It seems like the chain restaurant may be cutting costs on staff, but I felt sorry for the hardworking staff member.

Yabaton, famous for its miso katsu, has opened its fourth store in Osaka at the Daimaru Shinsaibashi Main Building 10th floor. The new store is clean and cozy. I ordered the "Yabaton Sanmai" set (2,200 yen) which includes tenderloin, loin, and teppan miso katsu. They were all delicious and crispy. The miso sauce was tasty, and the grilled cabbage had a nice aroma. There were also three kinds of pickles with a refreshing acidity, which cleansed the palate.

I went shopping at Daimaru in Shinsaibashi and decided to eat something before heading home. Since I was alone, I thought I'd go for tonkatsu, so I came to this place. I ordered the premium rib tonkatsu and helped myself to the pickles at the all-you-can-eat counter while waiting. When it arrived, I poured miso sauce over it and started eating. It was a pretty standard tonkatsu. The miso sauce was rich and delicious, but overall, the pork lacked depth of flavor and richness. It was decent, but I wish the meat had been more flavorful.
