I moved to Nakasu early. When I entered at 6:30, I was seated right away. By the way, reservations are not accepted. The hospitality of the women was pleasant, and the red star fried bone-in chicken was served as an appetizer. The eel arrived without much wait. It was piping hot, almost too hot for those with sensitive tongues. It was delicious. I also like Ogura's Inakaan, but the regional grilling in western Japan is great.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic steamed eel in the heart of Nakasu. While on a business trip to Fukuoka, I wanted to eat eel steamed in a steamer, so after finishing work, I explored the streets of Nakasu while waiting for the 6:00 p.m. opening. Both the city stroll and the steamed eel were delicious, making my business trip enjoyable.

Head to Nakasu in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City to try their delicious steamed eel. They are mainly open for dinner, making it a great option for both dinner and a late-night snack after a night of drinking. The eel, which won't cause indigestion even if eaten late at night, is the perfect way to end your night in Nakasu feeling energized. If you have room in your stomach, I also recommend trying their umaki and grilled eel liver.

A shop in Nakasu, Fukuoka. It is said to be the originator of steamed eel in a bamboo steamer, established in Showa 35. I'm not sure if it was renovated or relocated, but it was a very beautiful shop. I ordered: - Steamed eel in a bamboo steamer (Matsu) 3,300 yen - Beer 730 yen. We were served bone crackers while waiting for the eel to be grilled, which took about 10 minutes. The steamed eel was delicious as always. Thank you for reading until the end. If you found this helpful, please consider saving the restaurant and giving it a like. Feel free to leave a comment, and I will respond. I hope this review can be of some help to everyone. I went to Nakasu in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City to eat eel steamed in a bamboo steamer. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was delicious and lighter than eel rice, making it easy to eat. I also like eel rolls and grilled eel. Eel steamed in a bamboo steamer is a great way to end the night in Nakasu. The staff were friendly and left a good impression.

A few minutes' walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station, this eel restaurant is located along the main street of Nakasu. Their specialty is the "seiro steamed" eel, originating from Yanagawa, along with grilled skewers and flavors from Ariake. Don't underestimate their side dishes like liver skewers and kasuzuke made with Ariake ingredients. I love seiro steamed eel, so I finally visited this place after missing out on it in the past due to frequent visits to Kurume for work. The street in Nakasu seemed quite empty, but the restaurant was surprisingly crowded. I sat at the counter, ordered a beer, and requested the seiro steamed eel (pine) to try. While waiting, I ordered some appetizers, and they were all excellent. The kasuzuke of thick scallops from Ariake with rich sake lees, the liver skewers with a light sauce, and the eel head skewers with a crispy texture were all delicious. The seiro steamed eel arrived without a lid, and while the eel portion was not large, the shiny rice was noticeable. The eel was steamed to a light flavor that paired well with the rice and the slightly light sauce. Overall, the side dishes like grilled skewers and kasuzuke, enjoyed with a drink at the counter, made a more fulfilling impression than the seiro steamed eel itself. I had a great time drinking and enjoying the food.

After having decent sushi at the first restaurant in Haruyoshi, the second restaurant was unexpectedly an eel place. We ordered draft beer, pickles, liver skewers, and steamed eel, but had little appetite. We waited for the meal to end while eating vinegar dishes. It was a disappointing visit even though the restaurant is actually delicious.

In the past, I used to be satisfied with eel from any restaurant, but ever since I met the eel god, I compare every eel I eat. It's a bad habit I've developed. On this day, I went to Yanagawa-ya for an eel feast. I've had steamed eel and grilled eel before, so this time I decided to focus on individual dishes. I also tried some sake that was said to pair well with eel, and everyone agreed that it was a good match. The grilled eel was a bit soft and lacked a crispy texture, with a strong muddy smell. I tried to cover it up with sansho pepper and sauce, but got scolded by the waitress for it. Overall, it was an interesting experience.

A few years ago, I was really into Nakasu and used to go there often, haha. After drinking, there seems to be a popular choice for a late-night meal depending on the trend at the time, like spicy noodles or Yabu's pork cutlet bowl. This time, I had an eel bowl at Yanagawa-ya. It's an eel restaurant right in the heart of Nakasu that's open until late at night, so of course I had to go, haha. There's also a late-night eel restaurant in the middle of Maebashi city, and their eel bowl after drinking is so delicious. The portion is just right too. I'm not sure about their current operating hours due to the current situation, but this is also one of the restaurants I want to visit again, haha.

I visited after watching a baseball game! It was great that it was not crowded at a late hour. I love eel, eel, I love eel♪ I was surprised by the difference in eel and how it was served compared to Kansai. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to go to a certain restaurant but it was closed, so I ended up enjoying red star drink with delicious grilled eel and eel rice bowl. My companion had the famous steamed basket dish. We shared both dishes and they were both delicious!

I went with a series of things I wanted to eat. If I had more time, I would go to Yanagawa, but this time I had to return by Sunday afternoon, so after Nihonkai Shoya, I indulged in carbohydrates. Honestly, I was prepared for calorie overload as a reward for everything so far. I ordered the reliable eel steamed on rice and uzzaku. The uzzaku here has eel that is lightly grilled, so it's not sweet. I thought it was good, but it felt different from what I'm used to. As for the steamed eel, I still prefer the one at Wakamatsuya in Yanagawa. It has less sweetness, but because the eel is steamed on top of the rice, the eel's oil doesn't penetrate the rice too much. If I really wanted to eat steamed eel again, I would come back here, but if I'm in Hakata, I might consider adjusting my schedule to make it to Yanagawa with a bit more flexibility.
