We stumbled upon a Chinese restaurant that seemed new, but later found out it had actually opened two years ago. We ordered the lunch set which included ramen and mini fried rice for 800 yen. My colleague opted for the sweet and sour pork set. The mini fried rice arrived in less than 5 minutes and was surprisingly large and delicious with a gentle flavor. Next came the ramen, which had the typical taste of a Chinese restaurant's ramen. It was a classic town Chinese style. It is near Nakashin (shopping street) and surrounded by Vietnamese restaurants and izakayas. It's great that they have set menus even during lunchtime on weekends. I ordered the noodle set (Sichuan ramen). Sichuan ramen? It's like a spicy and sour noodle dish with plenty of ingredients like pork, cabbage, carrots, onions, and bamboo shoots. When I arrived at a popular Chinese restaurant in Sakai Higashi, I found out that it used to be a ramen shop before. It seems like there have been two ramen shops that changed hands here. It's difficult to keep a business going, isn't it? I decided to try the lunch menu and ordered the fried rice set. There are 5 types of fried rice to choose from: regular, curry, kimchi, pickled mustard greens, and plum. You can also choose from 3 main dishes: fried chicken, shrimp chili, and sweet and sour pork, making a total of 15 possible combinations for the fried rice set. There are also various other set meals to choose from, so you won't get tired of the menu easily. First, the kimchi fried rice was served, while my companion had the regular fried rice with shrimp chili. Soon after, my sweet and sour pork was ready. It had large pieces of meat with a sweet and sour taste. The kimchi fried rice had a slightly sour kimchi flavor, but it was moist and delicious. If this restaurant was near my workplace, I would definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

Recently, there are more nomi-nomi (drinking and eating) places opening up... (｡>﹏<｡) Even though it's Sunday, I finished work and decided to visit a nomi-nomi place with a late start at 8 PM♪(´ε｀ ) It's a restaurant called Kanton Shuka Yui located on the Nankai Koya Line, in a street just off from Sakaihigashi Station towards the west, away from the shopping district♪ The interior has a few counter and table seats... They have a special nomi-nomi set available on Sundays, which includes 2 pieces of karaage (fried chicken) and 3 slices of chashu (roast pork) with a drink for only 500 yen~♪(笑) Of course, that's excluding tax, but it's a great price♪ You can choose between highball, draft beer, or various sours for the drink♪ But that's not all... I also ordered egg spring rolls♪(´ε｀ ) The karaage was delicious and the chashu was tender with a nice mustard dipping sauce♪ And then the spring rolls arrived... piping hot, big egg spring rolls♪ Inside, there were various fillings... a consistent deliciousness♪(´ε｀ ) I was recommended to try soy sauce or mustard, but I enjoyed them as they were♪ I also had a refill of highball♪ The Japan Series is having some exciting games, isn't it? In September, on the holiday (Respect for the Aged Day), I decided to go out for a midday drink♪ I ended up coming to "Sakai Higashi" but the problem is deciding which shop to drink at. I went to a sushi restaurant yesterday and a bistro the day before, so I wanted to try a different type of restaurant this time. As I wandered through the Sakai Higashi Station front shopping street, I noticed a signboard for "Kanton Sakaba Yui" that said "Midday Drink Set 500 yen". It's cheap to be able to drink for a coin, although it will definitely not end with just one drink (￣ー￣)ﾆﾔﾘ. Since it's Chinese cuisine and a different type of restaurant, I decided to go to "Kanton Sakaba Yui" for this midday drink. About the restaurant: Located on the main street of Sakai Higashi Station front shopping street, "Ginza Street", the restaurant is situated along the street on the south side. The interior has an atmosphere of a local Chinese restaurant, with a counter facing the kitchen with 10 seats and 3 tables for 4 people each. The owner was managing the place alone. About the dishes I ate: First, I ordered the "Midday Drink Set"! I chose a "draft beer" for the drink, and they brought the beer before the food♪ Ahh... ice-cold draft beer is delicious. I practically chugged it down (￣ー￣)ﾆﾔﾘ. For the second drink, I went for a "Shaoxing wine on the rocks", a typical Chinese choice. I also decided to order additional dishes together with the drinks. The lunchtime dishes include set meals and lunch sets, but you can also order individual dishes. This time, I opted for ordering individual dishes. The dishes I ate that day were like this: - Midday Drink Set: Chicken Karaage, Char Siu, Egg Spring Roll, Salt Yakisoba - Gyoza: Pan-fried dumplings - Egg Spring Roll: Rolled with thin egg skin, filled with bamboo shoots, glass noodles, chives, pork mince, carrots, bell peppers - Salt Yakisoba: Chinese-style fried noodles with pork, shrimp, cabbage, bean sprouts, onions, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms In conclusion, the "Salt Yakisoba" and "Chicken Karaage" were quite good. The rest were okay, nothing special (ｗｗ). I may have eaten and drank too much for one person, as my stomach started to feel uncomfortable after finishing. The total bill for the food and drinks I had, including the Midday Drink Set and 3 Shaoxing wine on the rocks, came to 4180 yen. Maybe if I had just ordered the Midday Drink Set and a lunch set, it would have been cheaper (ｗ). But I'm satisfied with being able to eat and drink what I like. Thank you for the meal.

We looked at the all-you-can-drink menu at the entrance and decided to skip it, thinking we probably couldn't drink that much. I think it was a mistake ^_^ Today, sweet and sour pork was a must, so we ordered that first, followed by mapo tofu, crab meatballs in ankake sauce, and then added pickled vegetables after seeing them on the back of the menu. The pickled vegetables arrived first and there was a lot of it. Since we had ordered all the other items as single servings, the table was full of colorful dishes and there was no more space. We were already full, so we realized we need to be more careful about what we order next time, or we won't be able to eat everything. We remembered seeing "Just the right size for sharing" written on the menu stand, but it was too late. Next time, we'll order one more dish in just the right size.

Sakai Higashi. There are many attractive shops. Finally visited aruko☺︎. I was drawn to the "light drinking set" for over 2 years... I thought the price might have gone up, but no, it was just one coin〜ヽ(´▽｀)/ The interior of the shop is long and narrow at the back. It's cleaner than I thought. ⚫︎ Light drinking set 500 yen + tax Drink + 3 pieces of chicken karaage + 3 pieces of yakibuta, so cheap!! ⚫︎ Gyoza set meal 1000 yen + tax 10 gyoza, 3 kinds of small side dishes, 2 pieces of karaage. Only tasted the gyoza. Overall, it's a bit salty. The staff was friendly. Thank you for the meal.

The dumplings came as a set of 7 pieces, but the skin was a bit bitter, maybe they were overcooked. Finally, the set arrived, maybe the fried chicken took some time? Ordered shrimp chili to lift our spirits, and it arrived promptly. The order of dishes was a bit off, but overall a good experience!

The shrimp tempura was recommended to be eaten with mustard soy sauce by the chef, and it was really tasty, perfect with sake (laughs). I asked about the lunch hours, and although they were until 2:30 pm, they kindly suggested I take my time. Of course, I left promptly so as not to cause any inconvenience to the next customers (laughs). I decided on trying the omurice for my next visit on the way home.

I had known about it since it first opened but hadn't had a chance to visit until recently when I ended up going for a daytime drink and got a bit tipsy (laughs). I had a shochu highball with a service set of karaage (fried chicken) and char siu, along with century egg. The century egg was delicious after so long. The owner was friendly and even struck up a conversation with us. I heard they also serve dinner set meals, so I'll come back next time to try their Chinese-style set meal.

When I entered around 11:45, there were no other customers. I tried to order the egg spring rolls but they were sold out. Then I asked about the Chibero set, but they weren't serving that either. I ended up ordering the light drinking set, soy sauce yakisoba, gyoza, a draft beer, and a non-alcoholic drink. The light drinking set came with fried chicken and grilled pork, both of which were delicious. The yakisoba had a Chinese-style flavor and was tasty. The gyoza was also flavorful with a strong garlic and chive taste. However, I was disappointed with the non-alcoholic drink, so I ended up ordering another beer. Even though I didn't get to try the egg spring rolls, overall the food was good. More customers started coming in for lunch as I was leaving. They had quite a variety of lunch menus, so it was hard to decide. Unlike Sichuan cuisine, the mapo tofu here had more sweetness than spiciness. The other dishes also looked delicious. ✰✰✰✰✰

My family and I visited this restaurant for lunch, and we were impressed by the white Tianjin fried rice. The Choya drinking set for 500 yen was a great deal, perfect for both appetizers and drinks. The chashu was excellent, but the highlight was the best chicken Karaage I've ever had! It was truly amazing. The fried rice set for 880 yen was also delicious, with a light and flavorful taste. I had some errands to run in Sakai-higashi and ended up with some unexpected free time. Since I had just eaten lunch, I decided to pass the time with a light drink. I found myself at Ketsu, a Cantonese restaurant with no other guests at the time. I ordered a light drinking set for 500 yen, which included a draft beer (Asahi Super Dry) and some appetizers - char siu (roast pork) and freshly fried chicken. It was the perfect way to pass the time with some tasty snacks. Itadakimasu!

Family outing in Sakai Higashi♪ From Momenti Pasta to Hotei Sushi, and then here^^ I had 40 minutes until the bus arrived, so I decided to check it out! This year they are open and I'm on the move~ I ordered a bottled beer for 550 yen, two orders of gyoza for 300 yen each... They were crispy yet juicy, and the homemade chili oil was a nice touch. Next time, I want to try dipping them in hot and sour soup^^ I also tried the egg spring rolls for 1000 yen, which is one of the recommended dishes at the restaurant. The skin was soft and chewy, with the vermicelli noodles adding a nice texture. It's amazing with some mustard! The fried rice for 600 yen was a perfect way to end the sushi meal (lol)^^ It was moist and simple, just how I like it^^ Despite the ongoing pandemic, I received a complimentary almond jelly dessert as a token of appreciation. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly, with even the children helping out. It's a great casual Chinese restaurant that is becoming rare to find. It's convenient, whether you're dining alone or with a group. They offer a variety of dishes, drinks, and it's a perfect place for a casual meal. On this day, my family had lunch at a Chinese restaurant called "Kanton Sakeya Yui" in Sakaihigashi. It seemed like a fairly new restaurant. The name of the restaurant is Kanton Sakeya, so I assume it mainly serves Cantonese cuisine. It was a holiday, so maybe that's why there was only one person managing the fairly spacious restaurant with both counter and table seats. I had the noodle set with champon, my wife had wonton noodles, and my child had Chinese rice bowl. The champon was a ramen with five ingredients in a thick sauce. As for the food, overall, it was a bit too salty for our family's taste.

I enjoyed my favorite Chinese drinks while avoiding the lunch rush. The happy hour set is available from noon. I also ordered some dumplings (forgot to take a picture). They brought homemade chili oil to go with it. For the finale, I decided on Sichuan noodles. Adding the chili oil made it even more delicious. I'm happy that it's a non-smoking restaurant. On December 28th, the first year of Reiwa (Saturday, day of physical examination), around 7:30 PM, my partner and I walked to Night Dinner (Part 1) and visited. We ordered a light drinking set (roast pork + young chicken fried + drink) for 500 yen excluding tax, smashed cucumber for 350 yen excluding tax, dumplings for 300 yen excluding tax, two of our special flavored chicken wings at 160 yen excluding tax each, two Asahi Super Dry draft beers at 450 yen excluding tax each, and a highball for 350 yen excluding tax. The light drinking set was too good of a deal, it's dangerous! I thought we had to choose between roast pork and young chicken fried, but we got both, which actually makes it harder to decide what to order next. But of course, we ended up ordering more.
