I was a bit surprised by the lunch at the izakaya. It was decent for the price, but the rice seemed a bit frozen. I understand that they focus on affordability, but it was a bit disappointing. I would like to try using the izakaya for drinks and dinner again.

In September of the 5th year of Reiwa, during lunchtime (11:00-), I had the Inari Sushi Set with Board Soba for 980 yen including tax. It includes 5 pieces of nigiri sushi and board soba. It's great to be able to enjoy the famous board soba from Yamagata at this price, but honestly, I think the taste is just average for the price.

I was invited by a friend who loves beer, but I am more of a shochu highball person. I wanted to go to an all-you-can-drink place, so we went for lunch. I had one set meal and then ordered one more dish. My friend drank a lot, but I stopped at 5 drinks. Thank you for the meal!

The staff was very polite even though they were very busy. ★Tempura bowl set for 890 yen including tax♪◎Tempura♪ Amazingly, this price includes 3 prawns! With shiso leaves, eggplant, pumpkin, and a generous portion of tempura, it was luxurious. ◎Cold soba♪ A satisfying portion with seaweed, green onions, tempura crumbs, and plenty of wasabi for a delicious flavor! ◎Cold tofu and pickles♪ The content was more than enough.

I went there after a long time. It was past 1 pm and not crowded. I had the dashimaki and sashimi set for 990 yen, and a medium bottle of beer for 649 yen. The sashimi was not visually appealing, with only 2 types and 4 pieces. The pickles were served in small amounts that looked like leftovers. The Ganmodoki dashimaki egg was delicious, maybe it's a specialty. They have Wi-Fi, so that's good. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch at the izakaya in Mio's underground! We went a little after 11:30 on a weekday and it was relatively empty, so we could relax. We ordered the dashimaki and sashimi set. The sashimi included tuna and yellowtail, both were delicious. What surprised us was the dashimaki, which was about 15cm long, we were amazed by its size. It was so delicious with a strong dashi flavor that we didn't even need soy sauce.

I had a leisurely meeting at a spacious restaurant, a well-known izakaya chain. It was easy to enter and relax. It's conveniently located near the station, making it a great choice for year-end parties or girls' nights out. The menu is varied, with everyone's favorite dishes available. It's been a while since I visited Tennoji. I had a set meal for lunch. I ordered the dashimaki tamago and eel set meal. The dashimaki tamago was surprisingly large! The amount of side dishes and white rice didn't match, so I asked for seconds (which were free). I ended up feeling really full and uncomfortable. But the lunch was very delicious. If I have the chance, I'd like to try a different set meal next time.

I wanted to have a relaxing lunch with my friend, so I decided to go to this restaurant and it was a great choice. We were able to eat without worrying about our surroundings in the semi-private room. My pregnant friend especially appreciated this. I felt like having something cold for lunch, so I ordered a set of tempura rice bowl and cold soba. I thought it would be zaru soba, but it was bukkake soba. The taste was average, but it's a recommended place for a leisurely meal. The staff were a bit slow at times, but they didn't give off a bad vibe so I was able to wait without getting irritated. Today's lunch was at "Naniwa Ajimigataiya Tennoji Store" in Tennoji, Osaka. I'm not very familiar with Tennoji, but I think it's located underground in the MIO Plaza building. It's a chain restaurant by Korowide. I had the maguro (tuna) two-color bowl set (880 yen). I chose this because it seemed like a safe option. Although it's an izakaya, there is a private room for two people. We had it all to ourselves, which was nice and relaxing. Then the maguro two-color bowl arrived. It looked just as I expected. The dish with shiso leaves looked appealing to me. The side dishes were good too. I ordered cold soba although the menu said hot soba was available. While looking for a place to have lunch in Tennoji, I came across a sign for Hikariya. The restaurant is located underground on the way from Tennoji Park towards JR. The lunch menu seemed to be quite extensive, with options like fried chicken, sushi, seafood bowl, steak bowl, all looking delicious. And most of them were priced under 1000 yen, so I decided to give it a try. I visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. We were taken to a semi-private area where we couldn't see the next table. I ordered the fried chicken set meal for 880 yen, which was listed as their specialty. I chose warm soba as a side dish. The fried chicken set meal was surprisingly generous in portion size. It had a satisfying taste, although the oil was a bit heavy. I managed to finish it all. The rice was free to refill, so it's a good option if you're looking for a hearty meal.

In the past, it used to be a different named izakaya. Since it is part of a group, one day it casually became Byakuya. The soba was delicious, but with the restriction of last order at 10 pm and closing at 11 pm, I arrived at 9:50 pm and didn't order much before heading home. Looking forward to the next visit!

On the final day of the long weekend, we decided to visit Tennoji Zoo nearby. Before that, we had lunch in the vicinity of Tennoji Station at a restaurant called Bikariya, which was my wife's choice. This time, we ordered the fried chicken set meal. My wife doesn't drink much alcohol, so we don't go to izakayas often, but she really likes the lunch here, especially this fried chicken set meal which she highly recommends. The fried chicken was quite delicious, and the soba that came with it was also tasty. The portion was more than enough for a lunch. They also had other set meals like sashimi, so I would like to come back another day for lunch. It seems like a good place to use as an izakaya as well. I'm thinking of using it for a drinking party at work too.

A friend invited me to a shochu bar, so I decided to go after a long time. It seems like there used to be more chain izakayas like Hyakuban and Hikaruya in the past, but I don't see them much these days. Maybe because they keep changing names and concepts and opening new stores, there are just too many to keep up with. This place had simple private rooms and touch panel ordering. We had overflowing tonpei yaki and assorted tempura, both of which were surprisingly filling. Sometimes it's nice to visit old-school izakayas too.

Get off at Tennoji Station. I decided to have lunch at a Korowide izakaya chain store. I sat at a table by myself. I found an eel menu and chose it. Handmade rolled omelet and grilled eel set meal for 1,290 yen (tax included). Non-smoking. It took about 10 minutes until the food was served. The eel seemed small. The taste was okay (comes with wasabi). It seems like the rolled omelet is the main dish. I had a second serving of rice (free of charge). Izakaya lunch is a good choice when you want to get full. In June 2022, the lunch menu was completely revamped, and the single item of board soba was removed from the menu. It seems you can still order it verbally, but it's not listed on the menu. Also, the other sets with cold soba include board soba and bukkake soba, which also need to be ordered verbally. There have been mix-ups with cold soba orders at other tables, and the staff seems very confused. This has caused confusion for us as well. The dishes also take a long time to arrive after ordering, and it's all very disappointing considering we have been loyal customers for years. We may not use this restaurant anymore. There were not enough staff working during the 5:00 pm time slot (my party arrived at 4:00 pm). It took about 20 minutes for our first beer to arrive. It seemed like the operation was not running smoothly.
