This is a Chinese restaurant inside Hotel Okura Kyoto. The space is spacious and you can enjoy your meal leisurely. I visited for dinner on a special occasion and had a great time trying various dishes a la carte. Everything I ate was delicious. Peking duck, shrimp chili, mapo tofu, glass noodles, fried rice, tapioca...

I have been to Momotaro several times before. I have used the order buffet a few times and since I wanted to eat Chinese food, I came here after a long time. It was a weekend, so I thought it would be crowded and reserved a private room. You can use it by paying a room fee regardless of the number of people. Almost everything is delicious, but of course there are things that are not delicious. Spring rolls...I've never had such a powdery and poorly flavored spring roll at a hotel, it wasn't well put together. It's really rare in hotel Chinese cuisine. Maybe it's frozen? Cold noodles...It was summer, so there was cold noodles available. The soup was so sour that I thought they had made a mistake with the amount of vinegar, even though I like sour things, it was quite sour. It was far from being refreshing and delicious. Also, in terms of portion size, it may be good that it's a small amount, so you can eat a lot, but when I ordered fried squid, for two people, the squid was cut into very small pieces and we only got 4 pieces. However, the mapo tofu came in a pretty good amount for two people, so you will be satisfied. Maybe it's the restaurant's strategy...? The appetizers and dishes are really in small portions, so you might want to order double the amount of your favorite dish. This is because it's a 90-minute time limit, but the service is a bit slow. Ordering little by little and adding on is tough time-wise, and the last order includes the finale and dessert, so it's a bit rushed. If it's time-limited, I would like the dishes to be served a bit faster. However, even on weekends, I was able to have a calm lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

Reward lunch with order buffet❣️ I went there for the first time in about 3 years. Dim sum assortment is brought out first, then you order what you like and they bring it for the number of people. At your own pace, you order one dish each of fried rice, congee, and fried noodles per person. There are many menu options, so choosing is fun! They must be using good ingredients, because everything is delicious‼️ It's a shame I can't post all the photos. I enjoyed eating delicious food and relaxing while chatting. I really ate a lot and was completely full lol Thank you for the meal‼️

Located in front of Kyoto City Hall, Hotel Okura Kyoto. I visited Momori for Chinese cuisine. Starting with appetizers, we enjoyed intricately prepared dishes such as soup and Peking duck. Especially, the ultimate almond jelly dessert was fantastic for me, a lover of almond jelly.

We made a reservation for the lunch order buffet and visited with two people. We were seated in a nice spot with a view in front of a waterfall. There were over 50 dishes to choose from, and the rule was to order only once for everything except the main dishes within 90 minutes. We were able to conquer almost all the dishes except for the main ones. All the dishes were very well-prepared and had a luxurious feel! Each dish surprisingly had a good amount of volume. I'm a big food eater so I managed, but it's probably impossible for an average person to try everything. Haha, it might have been perfect if they brought the orders a little faster...

I wanted to eat proper Chinese food after a long time, so I made a reservation at Momori in Hotel Okura and went there. Normally, I only go to places like Gyoza no Ohsho, so my kids were very satisfied, and of course, I was too. Once again, I realized how delicious Chinese food can be. Each dish had its own unique touch. The flavors were great, and the service was top-notch as expected from a hotel, but the strict timing made it surprisingly feel a bit rushed, which was a bit disappointing.

I visited the Hotel Okura for an order buffet! I went for lunch, and there were a lot of menu options, each dish was delicious! We tried over 20 different dishes, sharing a little with each other among 4 people, and we were able to eat to our hearts' content. When it comes to Chinese food, the flavors are usually strong, but here, the dishes were not too bland or too overpowering, they were elegant and very delicious. We could enjoy both classic Chinese dishes and some rare ethnic options, each ingredient was tasty, and if you enjoy eating a lot, I think it's quite cost-effective! Very satisfied! Will visit again!

After work, four of us, including my boss, visited the restaurant and were treated to a feast! We enjoyed dishes such as assorted appetizers, Peking duck, chili prawns, creamy scallops, stir-fried beef with green peppers, mixed fried rice, seafood yakisoba, etc. We paired the meal with beer and Shaoxing wine. It was a delightful moment, thank you very much!

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Kyoto City Hall Station, the Chinese restaurant "Chinese Cuisine Momori" is a luxurious Chinese restaurant operated on the basement floor of Hotel Okura. Selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the west in 2021, this restaurant boasts a refined atmosphere typical of a hotel and offers a reasonably priced lunch buffet. The Chinese buffet can be ordered for two or more people, making it ideal for groups. This time, we tried the Hong Kong dim sum plate. Priced at around 5,000 yen, this relatively affordable course menu includes a variety of dishes such as assorted cold appetizers, stir-fried shrimp and scallops with XO sauce, sweet and sour pork with black vinegar, dim sum assortment, spring rolls with daikon mochi, scallop and white rice porridge, and dessert. Every dish was fantastic, especially the piping hot sweet and sour pork with rich black vinegar and the delicious dim sum filled with minced meat and seafood. The service was also very courteous, making it a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal. Be sure to visit this excellent restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

This is my first visit to the Chinese restaurant Touli located on the basement floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto. Today, I ordered the "Madame China" course, which costs 7,865 yen per person (excluding drinks). The course includes a variety of dishes such as assorted cold appetizers, simmered shark fin, assorted dim sum, shrimp chili, beef fillet steak, crab meat fried rice, and a dessert platter. For the shrimp dish, you can choose from XO sauce stir-fry, chili sauce, mayonnaise sauce, or black vinegar sauce. The Chinese cuisine here was absolutely delicious! I could see why it has been selected as a top restaurant. The interior of the restaurant exudes a luxurious and clean atmosphere. I had a leisurely meal and left very satisfied. It was truly delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Mitomi Emon's gourmet site has been launched. Homepage "https://blog.33inc.jp/" instagram "@mitomi_emon" Kyoto's well-established hotel, Hotel Okura Kyoto. One of the well-known hotels representing Kyoto, with its founding dating back to 1888. We will introduce the Chinese restaurant "Chinese Cuisine Toh Lee" located in this prestigious hotel. By the way, you often see Chinese restaurants with the same name in hotels across the country, but it seems that the management is completely different. Many restaurants use the Chinese proverb that people naturally gather around virtuous individuals as a good luck charm. The popular lunch course is a lunch order buffet! In these times, it is not a self-service buffet but an individual order format. At 6050 yen per person, it is not cheap, but for food lovers, it is a price that can easily be justified. As if to prove a point, "shark fin soup" and "steamed abalone" are prepared by default. The soup gives a light impression, while the abalone with black bean miso has a rich and flavorful taste. It's a nice touch that all portions are small. They understand well what is important for a buffet. In terms of taste, it feels like a traditional Chinese approach, which may not appeal to everyone's taste. Thank you for the meal. "Steamed chicken with spring onion and ginger sauce," "small shrimp with chili sauce," "mapo tofu," "fried chicken," "Toh Lee shumai," "harumaki," "stir-fried mushrooms and glass noodles in sweet and spicy sauce," "grilled yellowtail meatballs with egg sauce over rice," "fried rice"

I used a lunch course from a Kyoto souvenir catalog gift for the first time in a while. There were 8 dishes, and I was worried it might not be very filling, but it turned out to be quite satisfying. The crab meat and shark fin soup (with a hint of shark fin) was piping hot and full of squid and seasonal vegetables stir-fried with XO sauce. The squid was tender, and the lotus root and sweet potato added some texture. The black vinegar sweet and sour pork was crispy and tender, easy to eat and delicious, although I found it a bit too sweet. The mixed fried rice was lighter and fluffier than I expected, with a nice texture. It wasn't a particularly unique menu, but the flavors were easy to enjoy for Japanese tastes. I found it delicious and would love to try it again!

I went to Platto Kyoto for lunch to have Chinese food on that day. The popular restaurant was fully booked, so I couldn't get in. Feeling lost, I started thinking about lunch options from the many available restaurants, all while in a Chinese food mode. Suddenly, I decided to have Chinese food at Hotel Okura, which has a parking lot. To my surprise, they offered an order-style buffet with unlimited abalone and shark fin soup for lunch at 4000 yen for adults. The hotel setting made it elegant, and the approach to the restaurant was lovely. I started with the must-have abalone and shark fin soup. The small abalone and the luxurious feel of the shark fin soup made me happy. The plate of udon noodles had thin noodles and was tastier than expected. The variety of flavors, good service, and no disappointments made it a satisfying Chinese food experience until the end. If I become a lunch refugee in Kyoto again, I will visit this place. Recently, price increases seem inevitable everywhere. I heard that dairy farmers are struggling due to high cattle feed and fuel costs, so I continue to buy milk without slowing down, even after the price hike. I'm considering drinking more milk this winter, maybe even cocoa. The hotel buffet increased by 1000 yen in November, but the upgraded menu makes me want to go back. I've noticed more price increases like this lately, and I can feel the efforts of the restaurant staff during these times.

The location is great, the food is delicious, and the service is good, but it was disappointing that the dishes were served one after another as soon as we became the only guests. Until then, they had been serving at a good pace, and there was still time before closing, but as soon as the last order was finished and it was clear that no other customers were coming, it was really disappointing.

Located in the basement floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto in Kawaramachi-Oike, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City. I visited during lunchtime and ordered the "Momotaro chilled noodles set" for 3,200 yen. The chilled noodles options included: 1) beef shabu-shabu chilled noodles, 2) five-ingredient chilled noodles, 3) tantanmen-style chilled noodles. I chose the beef shabu-shabu chilled noodles with sesame sauce. The set also included a dim sum assortment, Chinese sticky rice dumplings, and dessert. The beef shabu-shabu chilled noodles were served in a glass bowl, looking refreshing. They tasted especially delicious in the hot Kyoto summer. On top of the chilled noodles was hot sauce, which wasn't explained. It would be nice if they provided a brief explanation, considering some people may not like spicy food. The dessert was traditional almond jelly with fruits. Although the Chinese cuisine at Hotel Okura is called "Toukarin," this restaurant is different. Originally, it was not an Okura hotel but a Kyoto Hotel. After a controversial reconstruction, it became Hotel Okura.

It's an order buffet, and all the dishes were delicious without a doubt. The soup is served for everyone at the beginning. If you order a pot of Oolong tea, they will keep it warm and add hot water continuously. It's recommended because everyone can share it. Except for dessert dim sum, you need to order dishes per person. On this day, we were a group of 9 for a memorial service in a private room (there was a seating fee of around 6000 yen, if I remember correctly). The portion size is small, so be careful not to accidentally order something that only one person can eat, as it can be a disaster. However, sharing a variety of dishes with everyone is the essence of Chinese cuisine. Being able to try different things is unique to a buffet. It was very enjoyable. Please note that the desserts are particularly small in size. As someone with a sweet tooth, I regret not ordering 5 servings of egg tarts and almond jelly. They were delicious, but truly bite-sized. I would like to visit again on a special occasion.

We made a web reservation for two on a Saturday. It cost 4850 yen per person for the Chinese lunch buffet at the table. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly elegant and relaxing, as expected from a hotel. The dishes we ordered were all served in small plates, offering a variety of flavors, and each one was delicious, making us very satisfied! However, the timing of the dishes was terrible; they didn't come at all from the beginning... The shark fin soup and steamed abalone that are supposed to be served to everyone 15 minutes after the reservation and seating arrived, followed by just the two dishes we ordered 15 minutes later. Then, for the next 20 minutes, nothing else came... In the end, 50 minutes after seating, all the orders arrived at once, and we hurriedly finished eating just after slightly exceeding the 90-minute time limit. The steamed abalone was small but tasty, the steamed egg custard with roe, sweet and sour pork, mayonnaise sauce with small shrimp, and the xiao long bao were all delicious dim sum. The taste was excellent, but due to the timing, the long periods without any orders were stressful. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the basement floor of Hotel Okura Kyoto, in front of Kyoto City Hall, is the Chinese restaurant "Touran". I visited for lunch and found the seating to be available. I ordered a menu that caught my attention.
- Hong Kong Dim Sum Plate (4,598 yen): A cold dish assortment including jellyfish with vinegar, shrimp, steamed chicken, and cherry tomatoes. The appetizer was well-presented, delicious without being too overpowering, making it excellent as a starter.
- Stir-fried Shrimp and Scallop with XO Soy Sauce: The seafood umami combined with soy sauce was delicious! The texture of the plump shrimp and the sweetness of the scallops were well highlighted by the savory flavor. The vegetables, such as crunchy bamboo shoots and bok choy, as well as the chewy mushrooms, were delicious!
- Mild Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork: The black vinegar did not have a sharp smell or acidity, allowing the umami flavor to shine while being mellow and delicious! The crispy texture of the pork coating was also delightful.
- Dim Sum Assortment with Spring Rolls and Daikon Mochi: The shrimp and pork dumplings were consistently delicious! The spring rolls were crispy and chewy, and the daikon mochi had a unique texture that was a delightful combination of slightly soft and chewy, making it delicious!
- Dried Scallop Congee with Pickled Vegetables: With such attractive side dishes, one might want white rice, but eating this with rice will surely make you feel bloated, so the light congee was the right choice. It allows you to enjoy the flavors of the side dishes without interference. The minimal saltiness of the pickled vegetables was excellent.
- Dessert: Almond Fruit. It truly lived up to the quality of a hotel restaurant.
