I received a plain bagel from "Tomoebagel" in Eniwa City. Thank you very much. It seems that "Tomoebagel" blends three types of Hokkaido-grown wheat, with a focus on high-quality Hokkaido-grown wheat "Kitanoakari" from contract farmers, to make their bagels. The ingredients include natural yeast, organic sugar, domestic salt, and water, and they use a traditional method of boiling the bagels before baking. Bread made with Hokkaido-grown wheat is often delicious, so I am very excited. I defrost the bagel in the microwave and then toast it in the oven. The bagel with a cute round mark looks delicious. I take a bite, and it is incredibly chewy and soft. The bagel has a subtle flavor and sweetness, perhaps due to the difference in wheat. It is quite delicious. It tastes great on its own, but it is also delicious with butter. I also tried it with potato salad, and it was very tasty as well. I am quite satisfied. It is truly a great bagel! You can also order it online. I highly recommend it. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

While driving, I stumbled upon a bagel shop. Let's go! Normally, they would have a variety of bagels, but when I arrived in the afternoon, they only had plain ones left. That's just how it goes, right? I bought all 7 plain bagels that were left. They also had a cozy eat-in area, but I wanted to try other flavors too. However, when I stepped outside, I found a bagel vending machine! Haha, what is this! They had a variety of bagels available, but they were frozen. It's funny that you can buy different bagels from a vending machine. Bagels are definitely best when freshly baked. When I got home and had one with butter and honey, it was so fragrant and chewy, with a wonderful aroma that filled my nose. Plain bagels are great because you can taste the true flavor of the bagel. It was delicious!

On the way to New Chitose Airport, we stopped by a bakery. I was originally looking for bread, but realized it would get squished if I brought it back. I remembered the poor acorn chikuwa bread from last time. Bagels are better in that regard. When we arrived at the bakery right when it opened, we were not the first ones there. Two people had already gone in ahead of us! We followed them inside. On the right side, there were bags of flour stacked like mountains. On the left side was the display case full of bagels! And on top of the case were bagel sandwiches with lots of fillings. Of course, the bagels themselves looked delicious, but those sandwiches were amazing. Even though I had just eaten lunch, I couldn't help but drool. For lunchtime, you can get a sandwich plus potato salad, salad, drink, and a small dessert for an extra 580 yen. What a great lunch deal! I wish there was a place like this near my office. More and more customers came in after us, and both the early birds and the latecomers were eating in. How nice! The interior had more seating than I expected, and it was a relaxing space. I don't know when I'll be back next, but I want to eat in next time. I bought the basil sausage for 330 yen, organic fig and walnut for 350 yen, organic chocolate for 300 yen, double cheese for 300 yen, and pumpkin and seeds for 300 yen. The dough was so soft and delicious! I've only tried the basil sausage and pumpkin and seeds so far, but I'll savor them.

A bagel specialty shop located in the shopping district of Megumi-no area on the outskirts of Eniwa City. The stylish shop, though small, has a seating area for dining in. There is also a parking lot at the back of the shop, making it easily accessible by car. The chic interior and the colorful bagels displayed in the showcase range from the most popular plain bagels to sweet and savory options, offering a wide variety. The popularity ranking is helpful for first-time visitors in choosing what to buy. Popular items include:
- No. 2: Cream Cheese Blueberry (¥330)
- Italian Ham (¥330)
I tried them with wine for an evening aperitif. The bagels are generally chewy and fluffy. The Cream Cheese Blueberry has a subtle sweetness with a hint of berry aroma, complemented by the freshness of the cream cheese, creating a light and enjoyable taste. The Italian Ham, a variation with spinach dough, is reminiscent of a calzone. The classic combination of ham and cheddar cheese pairs perfectly with the wheat bagel and also goes well with white wine. This refined variety of bagels truly changes the concept of bagels.

I was looking forward to buying them for a long time and lined up 5 minutes before the store opened, but about 10 couples were lined up behind me. The texture was ideal and it was really delicious from the first bite. If you go early in the morning, you can choose all the varieties! After buying 9 types with my mother, we went to eat soba, but we didn't buy enough bagels, so we went back at lunch and half of the 20 varieties were gone! The caramel & coffee chocolate was really delicious! Apple cinnamon is also recommended! I haven't tried all the flavors yet, but they are all really delicious.

I purchased a bagel at the Kitakitchen in Sapporo Marui Imai. The Cream Cheese Blueberry (329 yen) is popular. It has a generous amount of cream cheese inside. I recommend spraying some water on it, microwaving it, and then reheating it in a toaster. It didn't turn out very moist and chewy, I think steaming it would have been better. My wife thought it was moist and not bad. Did it turn out moist? Thank you for the meal♪

Once again, I used "Tomoe Bagel" for takeout! I ordered the seasonal bagel "Fumizuki (¥324)" this time. If you're quick to catch on, you might be able to guess why I revisited just by looking at the bagel I ordered (laughs). If you say, "You just wanted to try this, didn't you?" then you hit the nail on the head, haha. The correct pronunciation of the product is not "Fuzuki" but "Fumitsuki," which is a shame. To give a serious explanation about this bagel, it is made with hojicha (roasted green tea) dough, filled with white chocolate, and mixed with walnuts inside and out. There are instructions on how to enjoy it (see third photo) on the bag, but I wanted it crispy, so I baked it longer until the top had a deliberate burnt look. When you bake it just enough to not turn completely black, the fragrant smell of hojicha spreads from the toaster! The combination of melting white chocolate and hojicha dough is like a latte! The walnuts are pleasantly bitter and have a nice crunchy texture! When you spread the red bean jam that I received (I will review it another day), it becomes even more delicious! It's big enough to fill you up with just one, which is great. Since it's a bagel specialty store, you can't go wrong with the deliciousness! I'll finally visit the store for the third time for lunch or afternoon tea whenever that may be (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

It's my second visit in 2 years. This time, I had my drink inside the store. I chose matcha white chocolate and earl grey lemon, which came with a sweet treat as a set. The hand towel with a handwritten cute message and the warm bagel were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had a sudden craving for bagels, so I visited this store for the first time in about a year and a half. It was in the evening, but they still had a good variety left, so I bought two types and took them home. As I write this post, I was surprised to see my previous post. I bought two types last time as well, and this time I ended up buying the exact same ones (laughs). Well, maybe my tastes haven't changed, or maybe I just wanted to eat these two all along without realizing it... I warmed them up in the microwave, and they were chewy with a mild sweetness, really delicious. I plan to try other flavors soon. Thank you for the meal.

I had two bagel exchange tickets until the end of this month, so I decided to go. I arrived after 1 pm, but there were no bagels left. I used the two exchange tickets and bought 6 bagels. I ate them when I got home. (^ω^)

I went to Tomoe Bagel for lunch. As usual, the place was crowded with customers. I had the ham and cream cheese bagel lunch set with a cup of black tea. They gave me a 3-piece discount for takeout because I had collected enough stamps. I'll have to come back again to redeem them.

Around 12:00 on December 17, I visited a bakery and tried a bagel that I personally really liked! The dough was chewy and had a great texture overall.
[Matcha White] This bagel had a strong white chocolate flavor. I love the combination of matcha and white chocolate, and both flavors were distinct. The sweetness was subtle.
[Kinako Matcha] My companion bought this bagel. I'm not a fan of kinako, so I think kinako lovers would enjoy it. It had a kinako cream filling inside the matcha bagel.
[Cream Cheese Bagel] Another purchase by my companion. The bagel was filled with cream cheese, but according to them, only about half of it had cream, while the other half was just dough.
[Nuts Caramel] This bagel had a sweet caramel cream filling inside a chocolate dough. The cream was quite sweet. The taste was really to my liking and delicious, but it was a bit disappointing that only about half of the cream was inside. It was so delicious that I would like to go back next time to eat in!

Before having lunch, I picked up a bagel from "Tomoe Bagel" shop. There were already 3 people lining up before opening, and more customers lined up behind me, indicating its popularity. I thought about eating it at a nearby restaurant for lunch, but decided to just line up and get it. I wanted to try something other than plain, but since I had only tried bagels from this shop's sister store, I didn't know what the unique flavors were. Among the choices, I noticed the limited edition bagel for this month, "Shiwasu (¥324)". They were also selling last month's limited edition, "Shimotsuki (¥324)". It seemed heavy for a snack, but I knew I had to eat it now or never, so I enjoyed it at home later. The contents of this bagel (from the official website) are as follows: Spinach dough filled with chicken tomato stew, with mozzarella cheese stuffed into slits made before baking. Spraying a mist and baking it for a long time gives a crispy and chewy texture, recommended for enjoying. The tomato acidity was not overpowering, the cheese inside was rich in flavor, and it was just delicious! There was a generous amount of chicken, which was tender and well-seasoned, with a good volume. I also want to try various types of bagels. You can enjoy the chewy texture by baking it or eating it as it is, according to your preference! I'm curious about the lunch set too, maybe I'll try it on another day. Thank you for the meal.

After enjoying some delicious soba noodles at Aoi Soba, I decided to stop by a yakitori restaurant, but unfortunately it was closed. Instead, I remembered a bakery in Kyoto I visited last year. I got the popular no.1 plain bagel and no.2 cream cheese blueberry bagel to go. Oh, my wife didn't touch hers? She mistook it for a scone! Well, I took a bite and it was delicious - soft and tasty. Plain bagel 205 yen, cream cheese blueberry 302 yen. Thank you for the meal!

【August 2021, Enjoying Bagels for Breakfast♪】I heard that there is a delicious bagel shop in Hokkaido, specifically in the town of Eniwa, Megumino, which is about 30 minutes away from Chitose or Eniwa station by transferring from the JR Rapid Airport Sapporo line. They use Hokkaido-grown wheat flour, natural yeast, and organic ingredients. I decided to make a little trip to try it out for the first time and here are my top 10 recommendations (¥2,980):
They use a balanced mix of three types of Hokkaido-grown wheat flour to achieve a perfect chewy texture that's not too hard. Sometimes bagels can be too chewy that it hurts your jaw, but these were just right in terms of chewiness. They can be stored in the freezer, so I enjoyed them over a few days:
【Bagels I Bought♪】
- Double Cheese (Cheddar and Mozzarella)
- Organic Raisin and Walnut
- Cream Cheese and Blueberry
- Organic Earl Grey & Lemon
- Organic Fig & Walnut
- Plain (Shuriken shape): Used for sandwiches♪
Even though it was a 10-piece set, 4 pieces mysteriously disappeared into my partner's stomach... I would definitely be willing to make another trip for these bagels that I found to be delicious (^^)/
Location: In Eniwa, Hokkaido, near Megumino and New Chitose Airport. About 30 minutes away by transferring from Chitose or Eniwa station via JR Rapid Airport Sapporo line, and just a few minutes' walk from the station. It's located straight ahead from the east exit rotary of Megumino station.

"Tomoh Bagel" We visited Sarufutsu during Golden Week. Sarufutsu is not a place to stay long, so we quickly headed back. We stopped by Hamatonbetsu Town and Esashi Town. There aren't many shops in Hamatonbetsu, so we ended up at Esashi Michi-no-Eki. There was a poster for "Tomoh Bagel." "Is it famous?" "I think so." My wife picked one up. It was from a shop in Eniwa. "Oh, why is there Eniwa Bagel at Esashi Michi-no-Eki?" "Just plain is fine," my wife said as she bought one. She doesn't make unnecessary purchases. "Just one?" "That's fine!" Well, okay. It came out as a sandwich. It couldn't be bad. I tried just the bagel. The outside was crispy, the inside was chewy. This texture is what a bagel is, right? The crispy outside... isn't it different? I could slightly taste the salt, but the flavor itself... among the bagels I've had, it might rank lower. They say it's delicious when eaten with fillings. Well, of course, right? It did taste better with fillings, but I didn't feel like it was the bagel's merit.

I went to a bagel shop in Megumino. I arrived around 3:00 PM on a weekday. I ordered the Italian ham tea set (580 yen excluding tax). I chose orange juice as my drink. I paid with electronic money. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I happened to find this place while driving around. They have bagels that my daughter, who has an egg allergy, can eat. I bought the organic earl grey & lemon, organic apple, and strawberry flavors. When you eat them, just heat them up a bit to make them softer. They're not as fluffy as regular bread, but the apple one has a nice moist texture with a satisfying chewiness, and it's delicious. The earl grey flavor is also sophisticated and good. I'll definitely come back to buy more.

This time, I used it as a snack substitute. It is located in the arcade on the main street in front of the station. There is a showcase next to the entrance, and a cafe space at the back. I bought Caramel Coffee & Chocolate and Cream Cheese Blueberry. Both had a chewy texture and were delicious with a mild sweetness. The food items also taste good, so I would like to try them again on another occasion. Thank you for the meal.

During a work day in Ebetsu, I decided to visit a newly opened sandwich shop for lunch, only to find a "closed" sign. So, I decided to visit their main store instead. I have tried various bagel shops before, but so far, this one is my favorite. I love the taste of the flour, the chewiness of the dough, and the crispy texture of the crust as mentioned on their website. I have tried baking bagels myself, but the process is quite tedious. However, boiling them really makes a difference in the texture. Currently, they don't allow dining in due to the current situation, but I found a takeout lunch sign at the entrance, which made me excited. When I inquired, I was told that orders were accepted until 2 PM. Since I missed lunch, my sense of time was a bit off. I ordered a pastrami ham and walnut with basil sauce sandwich, which was delicious when I tried it last time, as well as a prosciutto and pickles sandwich to share. I also decided to get an an butter bagel, along with plain, chocolate, and blueberry cream cheese bagels. With the upcoming Golden Week holidays, many shops will be closed, so I plan to freeze these for later enjoyment. I bought a cafe latte from a nearby Lawson and had a car picnic. I was very hungry, so the bagels really hit the spot. I was wondering how the basil sauce inside would taste, but it surprisingly went well with the sandwich. The combination was unique and not something I would have thought of myself. Overall, it was delicious and satisfying. I always end up adding more items to my order, but it's worth it. Thank you for the meal!

This morning, I woke up early because I was hungry, so I had breakfast around 6 o'clock, but I couldn't have lunch at 12 o'clock, which was unfortunate. After finishing my errands around 1:30, I was near Megurino station and feeling hungry. I remembered there was a place called "Tomoe Bagel" where I usually only get takeout. I wondered if I could make it in time for lunch, so I dashed to the shop. As I entered, I was greeted by a smiling staff member who asked if I wanted takeout. I replied, "No, I want to eat here!" I felt relieved that I made it in time for lunch. The staff said I could have either tea time or lunch time, and of course, I chose lunch. I decided to try the "Smoked Chicken and Homemade Pickle Sandwich" that I had been wanting to eat. Before sitting down, I also chose some items for takeout. The staff mentioned that water and utensils were self-service, but the service at this shop is always good, so self-service was not a problem at all. I asked if I could take a picture, and the staff happily watched as I took a photo of the bagels lined up. Finally, my order arrived - a hot and crispy potato, a soft and chewy bagel sandwich with smoked chicken and homemade pickles, an iced tea, and a butter cookie. The potato was delicious, the bagel sandwich was amazing, and the smoked chicken and homemade pickles inside were just to my liking. I finished everything quickly and savored the butter cookie on a small plate. It was delicious! I enjoyed a leisurely moment with my iced tea. The shop also serves drinks on Friday and Saturday evenings, so it's a good place for drinks too. I will definitely come back again! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
