I arrived at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel's restaurant a little before 7:00, as I heard it gets crowded around 7:30. It was indeed busy, but I was able to be seated without waiting. One of the two breakfast venues offers a buffet style where you can make your own original seafood bowl. This seems to be a common service in Hakodate hotels. You can simply place the seafood on top of vinegar rice or even create a parfait-style presentation in a glass. The seafood available that day was salmon, squid, shrimp, and salmon roe. It was convenient to be able to enjoy a seafood bowl at the hotel without having to visit the morning market. They also had a variety of desserts made from Hokkaido dairy products.

The restaurant is located in a good location with ample parking space on the 1st floor of the building and in the back open area. Access by car is very convenient. There is a designated parking area for people with disabilities at the back of the 1st floor with reserved spaces. The restaurant is on the 1st floor and can be accessed via a gentle slope from the parking area. The menu features a mix of Western and Chinese cuisine. I recommend trying the extremely spicy vermicelli lunch from the Chinese menu. It includes squid, shrimp, mushrooms, and greens, with a rich seafood flavor and a strong spicy kick. The dish is served hot and satisfying. It is milder than the spicy mapo tofu, causing more nose and tears than sweat. I found myself continuously dipping and slurping the vermicelli, and had three servings of rice from the pot. Occasionally, I enjoyed a comforting egg soup with seaweed and pickled vegetables. After the meal, I let out a satisfied sigh. The others dining with me were also pleased with their respective dishes. It was a delightful dining experience with maximum happiness for the majority. The restaurant at the hotel lives up to its reputation.

I stayed at this hotel when I traveled to Hakodate. I chose this hotel because the breakfast buffet here is a great value. They have freshly cooked beef sauté and omelets, making it feel like a resort hotel. They also offer unlimited seafood bowls with ikura and sashimi for breakfast. And you can even have unlimited wine in the morning, which pairs well with the food. Although it is originally a Chinese restaurant, the mapo tofu and ramen are authentic. It's an amazing breakfast.

I used the breakfast at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel. It is included in the accommodation. Non-guests can also use it. It is a buffet style with classic dishes such as salmon, sausages, simmered dishes, and a variety of drinks like juice, milk, and coffee. There are also steak, omelettes, mapo tofu, Hakodate ramen, and more that are cooked on the spot. The highlight is the seafood bowl, with squid, shrimp, salmon, salmon roe, and negitoro piled high. I recommend pouring broth over it to make a delicious ochazuke.

On the second day of my visit back home to Hakodate, we went to a restaurant that my father used to enjoy and where my aunt is a regular. We had to wait for about an hour, but it turned out to be a great opportunity to enjoy a hotel dinner. The recommended dishes here are the five-ingredient ankake yakisoba that my father loved and the Sichuan-style mapo tofu, which is also sold as a retort food. However, this time I decided to try the steak pilaf for the first time. I started with a Sapporo Classic beer before diving into the steak pilaf. The pilaf had a jerky-like texture with a rich flavor and slices of beef on top. The beef, which is imported, had a nice chewiness and paired perfectly with the Sapporo Classic. The soup had a strong shiitake mushroom flavor with bacon and diced vegetables, complementing the steak pilaf well. After the meal, we were able to watch fireworks from behind the International Hotel, making it a fitting attraction to kick off my 55th year.

I stayed at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel during my stay in Hakodate. Despite being in the midst of the intense Hakodate breakfast battle that starts at La Vista Hakodate Bay, they served a truly impressive breakfast. Since mornings are early during group trips, we decided to have breakfast starting at 6 am and arrived at the venue before 6 am... and there were already guests lined up before the opening. Fortunately, we were able to get in on the first round, so the wait wasn't too long. They even made salt ramen at the live kitchen, which I couldn't enjoy the night before. I'm not a big fan of ikura, but I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood bowl. The ikura seemed small, is this the real deal? I enjoyed dessert to the fullest until departure time. When we left the breakfast venue and returned to our room, the line had gotten even longer. If there are no available seats, it can be quite slow to move forward. So, if you plan to enter just before the last entry time at 9:30, there is a risk of missing out on breakfast, so be careful. For those considering a trip to Hakodate, please enjoy the hotel breakfast as well. Even if you are not a guest, you can use it for 2,500 yen unless it is a specific busy period.

Hakodate Kokusai Hotel is famous for serving delicious breakfast at its restaurant, Azelia. The buffet offers a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, with the original seafood bowl being particularly popular. People start lining up outside the venue from 7:30 in the morning. It's rare for a hotel breakfast to have such a long line. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we were finally seated. Despite the line outside, the inside was smooth and not too crowded. The buffet area was also easy to navigate. The highlights were the ikura and squid in the seafood bowl, as well as the light and tasty salt ramen. The Genghis Khan dish was also good. If you want to savor the seafood bowl, head outside, but if you want to try a variety of dishes, Azelia at the hotel is the place to go!

The price for a French restaurant in a hotel was a bit high, but the breakfast served was excellent. The restaurant had a fancy feel to it, and it was nice that we could get more bread. However, the steak was overcooked and lacked the delicate texture of fillet. The service was surprisingly good.

Dinner at the hotel I stayed at. I'm originally from Hakodate so I've heard about this place but it's my first time eating here. - Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu: 1150 yen It's really numbingly spicy, surprising. Comes with extra hoisin sauce which I didn't really need. It has a good depth of flavor and the salt level is just right. This might be one of the top dishes in Sapporo, I think. I can see why they say it's the best in Hakodate. - Yakisoba with five-ingredient sauce: 1300 yen It has a whole snow crab leg and the pork is better than what you get at regular Chinese restaurants. The seafood yakisoba has a good amount of noodles, the sauce is not too strong, and there's a generous portion. It's not greasy, the sauce is thick, and the salt level is just right. The Chinese soup with kelp is also delicious. - Fried potatoes with Hokkaido-grown potatoes: 700 yen - Grilled Komagatake pork with Madeira-like sauce: 1700 yen - Napolitan 1972: 1300 yen It's been around since 1972 so it has thick noodles, green peppers, sausages, and onions. A classic dish. - Daionuma Beer IPA - Daionuma Beer Alt Children are allowed but the staff wasn't particularly friendly. They seemed to be in a rush as they quickly left our table at the end, so I'm left feeling a bit disappointed. Despite the spacious restaurant, it was quite noisy, but I don't think it was entirely the restaurant's fault so I'm not deducting points for that.

Hotels in Hakodate are famous nationwide for their breakfast. This hotel allows non-guests to enjoy their breakfast for 2500 yen per adult. You can enjoy both Japanese and Western dishes, and they even have seafood on the buffet, so you can indulge in a luxurious seafood bowl in the morning. Plus, you can eat as much salmon roe as you want! Hakodate ramen is served in bite-sized portions, perfect for finishing off your meal. It's interesting how everyone chooses different things at a buffet. By the way, the first picture is me, and the second picture is my sister. Even siblings have very different tastes! It was such a luxurious morning. I wonder what breakfast at other hotels is like.

The other day, I stayed at the Hakodate Kokusai Hotel, and had dinner at the restaurant Azalea ♥ It's a restaurant that holds memories of my late father. This time, I went with my mother. I remembered how my father used to enjoy various Western dishes back then... This time, since my mother loves Chinese cuisine, we ordered fried rice and the king shiitake mushroom dish! It was authentic and delicious as always ♡ The menu is extensive and it's always a struggle to choose. No matter how many times I go, I always leave satisfied! Check out more details here ☟ Enjoying a Chinese dinner at "Azalea" in Hakodate Kokusai Hotel ♡ The king shiitake mushroom dish is delicious too!

A restaurant located on the first floor of Hakodate International Hotel. They serve buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a cafe time until 5 pm with cake sets available. You can also take cakes to go. I tried the "Jomon Parfait" for 850 yen (tax included), which is quite reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. It had chestnut gelato, crunchy chocolate chip cookies, plenty of walnuts, topped with whipped cream. Below that was pumpkin chiffon, crushed cookies, vanilla ice cream, and jelly. The taste was okay for the price. However, the service was lacking. They didn't provide wet towels, and the table was dirty. I always carry disinfectant wipes, so I didn't bother asking. After they brought the parfait, they just left it there. Even when the water ran out, they didn't refill it. The prices are reasonable, and it's convenient for hotel guests to enjoy lunch or dessert, but I hope they can improve their service.

Hakodate Royal Hotel has a Chinese restaurant on the first floor. Despite the cold and slippery conditions outside, customers kept coming in and out. I had lunch with a friend, we ordered the ankake yakisoba set. The coffee was all-you-can-drink. The taste was delicious, but the ankake sauce wasn't hot enough. A bit disappointing.

On September 16, my father passed away in Hakodate. We had a family funeral with a tight schedule of a wake on the 17th and a farewell ceremony on the 18th. On the 17th, my mother, my family, and my brother's family stayed at the funeral home. After the farewell ceremony, we gathered with some relatives for dinner to remember our father. My father's favorite dish was the five-ingredient thick sauce yakisoba here. I ordered the same for myself and my wife, priced at 1,150 yen including tax. My daughters chose their favorite dishes: my eldest daughter had the Sichuan spicy mapo tofu set for 1,400 yen, and my second daughter had the steak pilaf for 1,550 yen. As the designated driver with a rental car, I refrained from alcohol. My father probably liked the excessive amount of thick sauce on the yakisoba. I wondered how many times he had eaten this dish before. Despite the lack of impact in terms of flavor, the restaurant's atmosphere may have appealed to my father. It is recommended for casual dining gatherings.

On my way back to Hakodate, I used this restaurant for dinner. I ordered the Sichuan-style super spicy mapo tofu set with extra extra spiciness. It was authentic Sichuan-style mapo tofu, so the first bite was almost too spicy, but from the second bite, it blended well with the tofu and became just the right level of spiciness. I enjoyed it with a Classic beer and pickled vegetables as a side dish. I recommend this dish to those who want to enjoy authentic Sichuan-style mapo tofu. The spiciness level can be adjusted, so it is also suitable for children.

We used this restaurant for a family lunch. There are few authentic Chinese restaurants in Hakodate, so this one offers a mix of Western and Chinese cuisine. They have a decent selection of Chinese dishes, but specialties like Peking duck or steamed fish require advance reservation. The taste was okay, I would say... Thank you for the meal.

I visited Hakodate Kokusai Hotel for lunch because I had a strong impression that the food was delicious when I stayed there before. I ordered the "Shrimp Chili Lunch (1550 yen)" that I had been curious about for a long time! ① Chinese salad... The crunchy vegetables with Chinese dressing stimulate the appetite and taste delicious. ② Chinese soup... Not too salty, with a perfect amount of salt and easy to drink, it goes well with the egg. ③ Steamed shrimp dumplings, shrimp shumai... When you bite into these, the shrimp releases a delicious flavor in your mouth! Two pieces are not enough. ④ Shrimp in chili sauce... The plump shrimp and chili sauce are a perfect match! It's so delicious that you'll want to eat more shrimp. Overall, the quality is high, so I recommend it. ♡

On Respect for the Aged Day, I visited my family and four relatives at my parents' home. The long-established Hakodate Kokusai Hotel, although the hotel name remains the same, now has a third-generation owner company. One dish that has been passed down through generations is the "Gomoku Ankake Yakisoba" priced at 1250 yen. The boiled noodles are grilled on both sides and mixed with a rich variety of sauce. The ingredients include plenty of pork, crab meat, scallops, squid, two shrimp, plenty of shiitake mushrooms, and vegetables. I believe that even with a change in ownership, the Azelia staff continue to provide the same dishes. The menu is extensive, making it a convenient restaurant for dining with guests. I also ordered a coffee for 200 yen. The coffee had a strong acidity, and I left the restaurant assuming it was Mocha blend from Misuzu Coffee. Among the hotels in Hakodate, this long-established hotel restaurant is known for its reliable taste.

This is the Chinese restaurant on the first floor of an international hotel. It also serves breakfast, but the lunch menu is more focused on Chinese cuisine. I had the shrimp fried rice for 1200 yen. It was very elegant and truly fitting of the name "hotel Chinese cuisine." It's also nice that they offer a half-size option.

On March 31, 2020, I visited Hakodate to visit my father, and we stayed at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel, which is a place we often use. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we limited our movements, staying at Hakodate Kokusai Hotel for 2 nights. The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel. As expected, the buffet was not available due to the circumstances. Breakfast consisted of one set meal, with unlimited rice and miso soup refills, free drinks, and the option to order 6 additional items such as corn soup. Even though it was not a buffet, the main attraction of sashimi was still available, as shown in the menu. Other options like steak were also served generously on platters. I took advantage of the opportunity to order corn soup, mini mapo tofu, and pudding & cake in addition to my meal. I started with apple juice, and finished with hot coffee. From an adult perspective, I think this style of dining, without the excesses of a buffet, allows for a more leisurely and enjoyable experience. However, my daughters were a bit disappointed as they missed the excitement of choosing their own food, and there was no omelette station. Despite these minor drawbacks, I applaud the hotel's efforts to provide a pleasant dining experience for their guests.
