Hello~! I'm Yuzu from the sunny city of Okayama ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ Today, I'm in tourist mode! It's my first trip to Hokkaido! For the first day, I stayed in Rumoi City. I had no idea about Rumoi City before, but I visited as a stopover on my way to Wakkanai. For dinner, I splurged a bit and went to a sushi restaurant called "Araiso Sushi" in Rumoi City. The restaurant is located slightly off the main nightlife area where izakayas gather. It's a fairly large and clean restaurant. They even have a parking lot! As I entered the restaurant, I noticed that there were quite a few table seats, which is unusual for a sushi restaurant. Of course, there are also counter seats. Since we were with children, we were seated at a raised tatami mat area. The restaurant has a spacious capacity. The veteran waitress provided friendly service. She also paid attention to the children. Looking at the menu, they offer a wide variety of dishes such as nigiri sushi, chirashi sushi, rice bowls, set meals, hot pot rice, and side dishes. There was even gratin on the menu. You can also order sushi individually. I was impressed by the separate order sheet for individual orders. The prices of the dishes vary, but if you watch your wallet, you can have a relatively affordable meal. However, I found the prices of drinks to be slightly high. Here is what we had today: - Shellfish sushi set (2000 yen): Abalone, surf clam, whelk, scallop. Hokkaido is known for its shellfish! It was my first time trying live surf clam, and it was delicious with no fishy smell. - Sashimi assortment (pine - 2000 yen): Sweet shrimp, tuna, yellowtail, squid, live surf clam, scallop, white fish (name unknown). The freshness was decent. It wasn't bad, but considering the price, it felt a bit lacking. - Zangi (800 yen): Zangi is a must in Hokkaido! It was surprising to see it on the menu at a sushi restaurant. It was delicious with a nice ginger flavor and a good portion. - Tempura assortment (1700 yen): Three large prawns, eggplant, pumpkin, shiitake mushroom, green pepper. It was tasty, but I felt it was not quite worth the price. - Individual sushi: I ordered individual sushi without wasabi for the kids. I chose salmon roe, flying fish roe, shrimp, egg, kanpyo roll, and shrimp mayo roll. My 6-year-old said it was delicious. We ended up drinking quite a bit, and the total bill was around 11,000 yen. I tried to keep the food cost around 7,000 yen, so the cost-effectiveness of the drinks seems to be important. In any case, I'm glad I found a delicious sushi restaurant in Rumoi City (b'3`*)
