A popular old Western-style restaurant in Kyoto that has been loved by locals for a long time. I visited to try their simmered hamburger, a specialty dish.【Menu】Tongue Stew Hamburger - A combination of hamburger and tongue stew, a specialty of the restaurant. The hamburger menu had many options, but I chose the specialty. The ordering process was relatively smooth, and the specialty arrived in about 10 minutes. The bubbling stew was irresistible. The restaurant's special demi-glace sauce generously poured over the hamburger had an irresistible aroma as it intensified with heat. Topped with beef tongue and a fried egg, it was a perfect combination. First, the hamburger - bursting with juices, a meaty texture, and a fluffy tenderness. The tongue stew, cooked for over 10 hours, was melt-in-your-mouth tender. I was unsure if I could finish the generous portion, but before I knew it, it was all gone. The demi-glace sauce, with its sweet fruity flavor, added depth. It paired perfectly with both the meat and rice, making it a delightful meal. The fried egg yolk, when mixed with rice, was pure bliss. The hot iron pot kept the dish warm until the last bite, which was a pleasant surprise. Visiting during the busy Golden Week, I arrived at an off-peak time, yet there was still a line. The quaint atmosphere of Kyoto's old town added to the experience. If you love Western cuisine and hamburgers, this place is a must-visit. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★This account documents a novice salaryman's exploration of interesting restaurants mainly for lunch.
