Today (September 3rd, posted with a time difference) I had pasta for lunch (just a single portion of carbonara), but it didn't quite hit the spot, so I decided to have dinner relatively early (around 4 pm) outside. Usually, I have dinner at home, but on weekends, I like to give my wife a break, so we often go out to eat and then have beer together at home. When it comes to choosing a restaurant for these occasions, I usually leave it up to my wife. We decided to go to a place in Tenjin while we were out shopping. This chain restaurant is quite good, so I don't mind it. When we walked in, the service was good, and the menu had a variety of options, including some under 1,000 yen if you don't go for the restaurant's specialty dishes. I've had Gara Soba at a different place before, so this time we both ordered the "Hakata Sea Bream Rice with Tempura Lunch" (they serve lunch menu until around 5 pm). The Sea Bream Rice with Tempura lunch we got was quite filling, and the balance with the tempura was nice. It also came with Chawanmushi, which was a nice touch. The sea bream rice is mixed by flaking the fish on top and mixing it with the rice. It has a gentle flavor with the delicious aroma of the sea bream coming through. The tempura was freshly fried - shrimp, eggplant, lotus root, and okra. The vegetables were all summer vegetables. This time of day is not crowded, and with the affordable lunch menu, it might be a good choice.

Today, I visited a Japanese restaurant that specializes in sea bream rice bowls. I decided to try it out since I was nearby. The restaurant had table seating as well as raised tatami seating, and there were a decent number of seats available. Customers ranged from individuals to groups, and there was a mix of people due to the location. The age group seemed to be on the older side. I ordered the "Hakata Sea Bream Rice Bowl Tempura Lunch" which was listed as the most popular item. It came with chawanmushi as well. The sea bream rice bowl was simple yet delicious, with a gentle dashi flavor and the taste of sea bream coming through nicely. The tempura and chawanmushi were average. The service was surprisingly quick, and I enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the meal.

For 1200 yen, this meal was quite luxurious! The value for money is great! The miso soup was free refill, and both the miso soup and the sea bream rice bowl with tempura were delicious. Personally, I thought the tempura was especially delicious, so I want to try the special tempura rice bowl next time. However, it was a bit difficult to get the attention of the staff for miso soup refills since there was no call button. It would be nice if they could pay a bit more attention to the customers.

I came to Mitsukoshi, so I decided to have lunch here after a long time. I almost always eat sea bream rice here because I don't make it at home! Today, I had the sea bream rice and tempura set (1100 yen). Many people were ordering beer with their meal, probably because the temperature in Fukuoka today was surprisingly high at 25.5°C, feeling like summer. There are also great deals on beer sets. Unfortunately, I had a busy schedule in the afternoon, so I skipped the beer and just had the meal. The tempura was crispy and hot, the chawanmushi was steaming, and the sea bream rice was warm and comforting. Everything had a heartwarming taste and was delicious. Considering the quality of the food, the price seems reasonable. The sea bream tea rice also looked delicious, so I will try that next time. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I generally do not re-review visited stores, but if my impression changes significantly, I will make an exception. This time, after visiting Ishikura, I will give them an additional star. Currently, at Solaria Stage, they are offering a "Senpai Set" every Monday for 1,000 yen, where you can enjoy a light drink. While each store has great deals, Ishikura stands out as the best value. For just 1,000 yen, you get sashimi, a small dish (edamame), tempura, simmered sea bream head, and a draft beer. Perfect for a quick drink after work. I visited at 6:45 pm and was seated at a counter with dividers. The table seats were crowded with multiple groups, so the single-person counter seats by the window were more relaxing. The Senpai Set was served promptly after ordering. I started with the warm dishes like simmered sea bream head and tempura before moving on to the sashimi and edamame. Although the sea bream meat was slightly dry, considering the price, it was not a problem. Adding a straight black mist (380 yen) halfway through, I enjoyed the sashimi and edamame. If they had served these two dishes first, I would have given them an even higher rating. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied with the current level. Thank you for the meal.

After 4:30 pm, feeling thirsty, I saw the "Draft Beer Set". It seemed like a sign to have a beer. So, I decided to go for it. The menu also had a shochu set but I passed on that. The restaurant was busy but the order arrived in about 10 minutes.
The Draft Beer Set (1,080 yen including tax) seemed like a good deal. It included tempura (shrimp, eggplant, pumpkin, shishito peppers) with dipping sauce and grated daikon, delicious and freshly fried. The red snapper soup had a sweet flavor, and the sashimi was from "Kanpachi". The fried eggplant in broth was also tasty and perfect as a snack.
The beer was served in a medium-sized glass, just the right amount for a light drink. The medium glass alone costs 450 yen, so this set was a good value. With rice included, it could even be a meal. I unexpectedly ended up feeling full and satisfied. The menu seems to change occasionally, so I might visit again.

I went to a craft beer festival at Tenjin Chuo Park with a friend, enjoyed a few craft beers from Kyushu, but it was a really hot day so we decided to head underground early to cool off. We tried to find a place to have another drink at Solaria Stage underground, but all the shops were pretty crowded. We managed to find a spot at Irokura, a place I hadn't been to before. We opted for a shochu set which came with 2 shochu drinks and 4 appetizers for 1,080 yen. Additional shochu was 380 yen per glass. The food came in about 10 minutes. We toasted with a Black Mist on the rocks and enjoyed the appetizers. The sashimi was probably yellowtail, crispy fried horse mackerel, and duck breast were all decent choices. We quickly finished the shochu and ordered another round. The simmered clams were lightly seasoned but went well with the shochu. We must have had about 5 glasses of shochu in total. Feeling pleasantly tipsy, we decided it was time to head home. Thank you for the meal!

Reasonably priced yet authentic Japanese restaurant with delicious food. The interior is quite spacious, with only about 4 seats at the counter and the rest being table seating. I always order the Hakata Tai Meshi set here. Recently, the price has increased slightly to around 1,080 to 1,100 yen, but I still think it offers great value for money. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. They accept cards and various electronic payments. They also kindly provide handwritten receipts.

I went to Ishikura-san. I had a set of two cups of barley shochu with hot water (or beer). I always think this is too luxurious for 1080 yen for two cups of shochu. My wife had the buckwheat soba set, which was also wonderful. We also added a rolled omelette. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I ordered the tile soba and tempura set meal. For the child, I ordered a small sea bream rice. The sea bream rice was a bit bland... but it was just right for the child. The tile soba was made with green tea soba, topped with grated daikon. It looks good in photos, but the taste was a bit bland. The tempura was okay. The seating area is a bit cramped as it is located in the Solare shopping mall. The prices are reasonable, even in the evening you can enjoy dishes like Gozen at a good price. The cost performance is good, so I think it's a place you can casually visit!

"The 'Draft Beer Set' was only 1,080 yen!! It came with a draft beer in a medium glass, along with sashimi of amberjack, pork with miso sauce, and tempura of eggplant, okra, sea bream, and pumpkin! Everything was delicious, so I ended up ordering an extra medium draft beer to go with it (*^o^*) It was a reasonable price for a satisfying meal, so I left feeling very happy *\(^o^)/* The salted squid advertised on the sign actually came as a small dish, but I was fine with that *\(^o^)/*"

Established in 1963, a long-established authentic Japanese restaurant "Ishikura Meinohama Branch". Recently, they have expanded to commercial buildings with good access such as Hakata Station. I visited their location in the underground 2nd floor of the commercial facility "Solaria Stage", which is easily accessible from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. The storefront is bustling with samples on display. During my visit around 2:15 PM, the interior of the restaurant had about 4-5 counter seats by the window and mainly table seats, with the restaurant being about half full even at this time. Although I was dining alone, I was seated at a table for two. The customer base seemed to consist mostly of middle-aged and elderly individuals, and there were quite a few solo diners, creating a comforting atmosphere. The signature dishes include "Tai Meshi" with sea bream grown in the rough waves of the Genkai Sea and carefully selected white rice, as well as the popular "Kawara Soba" from the Meinohama main store. Therefore, I ordered the "Tai Meshi and Kawara Soba Set (1,380 yen)" to enjoy both dishes, along with a bottle of beer (590 yen). *Note: The visit was before the state of emergency, and you could choose between Asahi and Kirin beer, so I chose Kirin. While I was leisurely enjoying my drink, a lady dining alone next to me commented, "It's nice to be drinking during the day. I envy you because I can't drink." I offered to share my drink with her, but she truly couldn't drink. The dishes were served together on one tray. The main dish of Tai Meshi came in a large wooden box with 2-3 servings and a large piece of fish, which I flaked with a spoon. The Kawara Soba had a generous amount of grated daikon radish, which was just right. The side dish included two thick slices of deep-fried tofu. The red miso soup seemed to be pre-made. The chawanmushi and Nara-zuke were surprisingly delicious. The portions were quite generous, and I left feeling satisfied. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and they also have a 1,000 yen drinking set in the evening, so I might visit again if I get the chance.

I decided to go for a light dinner with some soba noodles at Soraria's underground Ebihama branch. I've been to the Ebihama branch before, but this was my first visit to this location. The menu here is quite different from Ebihama, with a smaller selection of soba dishes. After some hesitation, I decided to order the sesame sauce sea bream bowl. When asked about the rice portion, I opted for the large size without hesitation. The dish arrived in about 5 minutes. I immediately tried a bite of the rice. Delicious!!! The sesame sauce goes well with the rice. Even without the sea bream, it would still be good haha. Then, I tried a bite of the sea bream. Yummy!!! Sea bream is a must for a sea bream bowl haha. It's been a while since I've had red miso soup. It's really tasty. I'm full now. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived close to evening after the lunch hours had ended, and the restaurant I wanted to visit was closed for a break. There was no information about this on their website or Instagram, so I was disappointed. However, I love their tile soba, and I was happy that I could also enjoy chawanmushi as a set. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Shochu set is quite luxurious for a casual drink. My wife and I shared her set meal and it was plenty of food with great taste. There were many female customers, some dining alone. I understand why. Next time, I'll come alone for a casual drink and add a side of tamagoyaki. Thank you for the meal.

It was my first time visiting the Tenjin store. In the second photo, I had the tile soba and assorted tempura for 1130 yen (tax included). The tempura was piping hot, and the tile soba was very delicious. The customers seemed to be mostly individuals, and I didn't notice many young people. It's nice to have a place where it's easy to dine alone. The service was very polite and attentive, but I think it would be even better with a bit more energetic service. Thank you for the meal.

Fukuoka business trip. I arrived at Fukuoka Airport at 12:30. What? It was supposed to be cloudy, but it feels like midsummer with the sun shining so bright. Damn it. I feel deceived. I decided to walk to Hirao for lunch. When I arrived, there was a long line and it didn't seem like I could wait. What should I do? Our hotel is in Gion. My partner suggested trying "Kawara Soba" at a hotel in Daimyo, so we came to this restaurant. It was my first time trying Kawara Soba in Fukuoka. After that, I have a meeting at Hakata Station, so I ordered just one Lemon Sour (290 yen). After the meeting, I plan to surprise a friend at their newly opened store in Futamata. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

First time visiting this restaurant. Had a casual drink to pass the time. Ordered the 1080 yen evening drink set. It was good (^-^) The grilled dish was delicious and it also came with sashimi. A glass of draft beer is included, so my partner ordered a refill of draft beer. I thought one glass was just right for me. You can also choose a shochu set. I think it's perfect for a quick drink after work. Thank you for the meal (^^)

I have been to Ishikura about 10 times already! This restaurant is famous for its kawara soba, but the sea bream tea pickles are also highly recommended. The tempura that comes with it is delicious as well, making you feel luxurious.

I love tile soba, I wanted to eat soba, and I was hungry, so I decided to stop by. I ordered a small portion, which was just right for a woman. The price was around 1200 yen.
