Hello everyone, today I visited Saga, a long-standing sukiyaki specialty restaurant in Kokura Kita-ku. I think many of you enjoy hot pot dishes like sukiyaki at home. However, there is a difference in quality when you have a professional prepare the hot pot at a specialty restaurant. I visited to confirm if the quality has remained consistent despite not visiting for a while. I ordered the sukiyaki course. The appetizer was a spicy seasoned dish of leeks and octopus, which was delicious but a bit too strong in flavor for an appetizer before sukiyaki. I didn't manage to take a photo, but we were served sashimi and grilled matsutake mushrooms, which were fresh and enjoyable. Each person received a whole grilled matsutake mushroom, expertly cooked and cut into bite-sized pieces. Finally, we had the main sukiyaki dish. The owner came to our table and carefully prepared the sukiyaki pot. We started with grilled meat and leeks, which were flavorful and juicy. The combination of the crispy grilled meat and the rich egg dipping sauce was a delight. The shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and shirataki noodles that followed were cooked perfectly and paired well with the secret sauce. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we were able to enjoy a meal that exceeded our expectations. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Sukiyaki was the best⤴️⤴️ The 16-grain rice with pork shabu-shabu was also delicious.

Sagano: Located in Kitakyushu City, Kokurakita Ward, this restaurant offers parking services at Chacha Town. After shopping, I saw it on TVQ and decided to try it out. The lunch prices were reasonable, starting from ¥1,050. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of A Building, right behind the Nishitetsu Sunatsu Bus Garage. I tried the steak bowl set, which was satisfying with a good amount of rice. The meal included side dishes, miso soup, pickles, and coffee. My friend had the Sagano set meal, which changes daily and includes tempura, chawanmushi, rice, pickles, dessert, and coffee. The tempura was a bit bland and needed soy sauce. Overall, the experience was good, but the service was a bit slow as the owner runs the restaurant alone. It's recommended to make a reservation and order dishes in advance. Sagano offers lunch from Monday to Saturday from 11:30 to 14:00. Address: 1-2-17 Sunatsu, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Tel: 093-511-1191. Genre: Japanese cuisine.

This is the back side of Nishitetsu in front of Chachatown in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. The location is a bit hard to find. I ordered the sukiyaki course and I was very full. The small dishes and soup had a New Year's feel to them, maybe because it was just after New Year's. But it was delicious! The sukiyaki was cooked by the staff. They asked if I wanted to add more meat, but I was already full. The dessert was made with Dekopon. It's a good restaurant to go with family. I might try the shabu-shabu next time. The sukiyaki course for two, one beer, and one sake cost about 15,000 yen. Thank you for the meal today!
