During the day off before a consecutive holiday where I took paid leave, I came across an unfamiliar menu at a weekday-only lunch spot in Fukushima. It was called "Today's Main Dish: Charcoal-grilled Saury with Yuzu-flavored Marinade." I decided to try it and it was served as part of a lunch set which also included various side dishes like meat and burdock root stir-fry, daikon radish salad, chicken and cucumber with plum and shiso, and homemade tofu rice (extra servings available). The whole set was priced at ¥1,000. The "Yuzu-flavored Marinade" is a marinade made by mixing soy sauce, sake, mirin, and citrus fruits like yuzu, sudachi, or kabosu. The saury is marinated in this sauce and then grilled. The delicate and elegant flavor pairs perfectly with the refreshing citrus aroma. Despite not being a huge fan of saury, I found the dish incredibly delicious. The saury was grilled to perfection with a crispy exterior and a glossy soy sauce-based seasoning, while the flesh remained moist. The citrusy aftertaste was very refreshing. I was so impressed by the deliciousness of this saury dish that I shared my excitement with the owner, who also agreed with my enthusiasm. A customer sitting next to me also nodded in approval. The smiles shared over the delicious food created a sense of unity among the diners. The side dishes were also exceptional, with the daikon radish salad having a crispy onion chip topping, the chicken and cucumber dish offering a refreshing sour taste, the meat and burdock root stir-fry providing a lightly sweet flavor, and the homemade tofu being incredibly flavorful. The firm and tasty rice, miso soup, sweet pickles, and pickled vegetables completed the perfect set meal. The daily lunch menu will be on a break until August 29th, but dinner will be available from 3:00 PM during the Obon holiday and on weekends and holidays. I highly recommend trying out the dinner menu as well at Nami Kome Sumi (Salad) with its "better than an izakaya but not quite a kaiseki" style, offering seasonal vegetables at a reasonable price. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy healthy Japanese food with a variety of vegetable side dishes. The fish was cooked perfectly and the rice was delicious. While there isn't any standout feature, the lunch set at 1000 yen changes daily and is quite popular, with the restaurant almost always full during lunchtime.

I visited some restaurants while in a bit of a slump, but most of them were refraining from visitation sales due to afternoon drinking. Along this street in Fukushima, there were hardly any open restaurants, which is quite sad. It may be financially beneficial to take a break, but it's scary to think that the behavior patterns of the regular customers may disappear. I was a bit saddened to see that the fish lineup on the menu had greatly decreased, but it's inevitable. Just the fact that they are open for business is amazing. The chicken with crispy skin was delicious, and I was surprised by the creativity of the firefly squid and broad bean tempura - each firefly squid was hugging a broad bean, which was cute and interesting. It shows creativity. I wish I could show these interesting dishes to uninspired chefs who make dishes resembling moss, soil, stones, or dead leaves.

In Fukushima Ward, for the second stop of our drinking and eating tour, we went to "Nakameshi SARA" for lunch. They have chairs and are open from 3pm on weekends and holidays. The table seats with sunken kotatsu tables have heaters at the feet, which is great for those who get cold easily. We had Akahoshi beer (550 yen), fresh mackerel sushi (880 yen) which was lightly vinegared and delicious with thick slices of mackerel with just the right amount of fat. The lightly boiled chrysanthemum greens in soy sauce broth (480 yen) was so easy to drink with a refreshing taste. The crunchy texture of the chrysanthemum greens was addictive. The luxurious charcoal-grilled vegetable assortment (1,280 yen) included premium shiitake mushrooms, lotus roots, sweet pearl onions, kabocha squash with mascarpone, bell peppers, king oyster mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms with yuzu pepper. Each vegetable had a different seasoning and all of them were delicious!

After playing billionaire and enjoying some yakitori, I hopped on a train to Osaka station. However, I got distracted and ended up passing my stop and arriving in Fukushima. Since I still had time, I decided to check out a restaurant that caught my eye, called "Nakomigasu". I arrived around 3 PM and coincidentally bumped into some food bloggers! It seems when you reach our level, you just happen to run into each other by chance! We all cheered and ordered the following: [Food] - Live mackerel sushi 880 yen - Deluxe charcoal-grilled vegetable assortment 1280 yen - Quick-boiled chrysanthemum greens 480 yen [Drinks] - Sapporo Lager (small bottle) 550 yen - Asahi Super Dry (small bottle) 550 yen The live mackerel sushi looked incredibly delicious with the perfect balance of vinegar and seasoning. The thick slices of mackerel melted in the mouth with rich flavor. The deluxe charcoal-grilled vegetable assortment included shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, chestnut, mascarpone cheese, sweet pearl onions, king oyster mushrooms, and shishito peppers. Each vegetable had a strong natural flavor and aroma, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The quick-boiled chrysanthemum greens in a flavorful broth were a hit with those who love this vegetable. Although this visit was more for drinks and snacks, the quality of the dishes was exceptional. I look forward to returning and trying more dishes paired with sake next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On this day, we were planning to move to Namba after visiting Fukushima, but since we were already there, we decided to have a drink in Fukushima! Thanks to the help and recommendations from everyone, we were able to find a place where we could enter from 3:00 PM. We visited this place with gratitude to everyone! We also received recommendations for other restaurants, which we appreciated. When we visited the place, we unexpectedly encountered a certain food blogger! Can you believe such a coincidence? We all decided to have Sapporo beer together, but there were only two bottles left. That's okay, I love Asahi beer anyway, so we all had one bottle each and made a toast! Since we were feeling a bit peckish, we ordered some light dishes. The dishes we ordered were: Marinated mackerel sushi - delicious with just the right amount of fat; Quick-boiled chrysanthemum greens - a dish I love, and it was prepared perfectly; Deluxe charcoal-grilled vegetable assortment - a good choice for when you can't decide, and it was easy to share among the three of us. The vegetables were cut in a way that made sharing easy, and the charcoal-grilled aroma added a delicious flavor. The warmth from the heater under the table in the sunken kotatsu seating area made us feel cozy. We were too engrossed in our conversation to talk to the chef, but the friendly and lovely atmosphere made our experience enjoyable. The counter seats also seemed like a fun option. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited this restaurant right after it opened. The seafood was all fresh and delicious! The octopus in particular was a dish that could be enjoyed both raw and grilled. They also had burdock root in a size I had never seen before, which was enjoyable depending on the season. They had a variety of sake to pair with the dishes. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I love this place because it has a great sense of style and is reasonably priced, but the downside is that smoking is allowed. Is there any way to fix this? It's really disappointing to smell cigarette smoke no matter what food you order. I had to endure secondhand smoke while waiting for my food, which was tough. This is especially a problem for me as I often go out with my kids. I'm happy that they serve Red Star beer, which is my favorite. Although they also have Kirin's Heartland and Asahi's Super Dry, I prefer Red Star. The service staff are friendly and efficient. However, I noticed that they no longer offer the small sake cup as a service at the beginning. I wonder why. The chicken was impressively crispy and well-cooked.

I was invited to a friend's familiar shop. The place is a bit off the main street, so I wouldn't have found it on my own. It was an izakaya with delicious and creatively prepared dishes. The specialty dish, the crab miso-flavored bagna cauda, was a perfect match for my taste buds. The presentation was also lovely. We sat at the counter, but due to COVID precautions, we were able to enjoy a fun time deepening our conversations with other women nearby.

I thought the vegetables would be delicious based on the restaurant name, but I was surprised that the meat and fish were also delicious. The crab miso bagna cauda had a strong crab flavor and was perfect to enjoy as a side dish with alcohol after finishing the vegetables. The Toronasu gyoza is a must-try. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and had a great texture when bitten into, almost as if it came from a chicken specialty shop. The sashimi was fresh, and of course, the namerou was delicious too. They also seemed to have some sake that is not easy to come by. I'm not very knowledgeable about sake, but the recommended one was really delicious.

There is an izakaya near JR Tozai Line's Shin-Fukushima Station that focuses on vegetables, with a name that is pronounced as "Salad." They offer two lunch options priced at 800 yen and 900 yen, both including rice, miso soup, salad, and three side dishes. You can also have unlimited refills of rice, miso soup, and salad. I chose the 800 yen option, which was beef belly and napa cabbage sukiyaki with a soft-boiled egg. The lunch is only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The staff is really great, especially the male staff who is very attentive and moves really well. This alone is a good reason to choose this place. It's strange that the current rating is only 3.1, it should be closer to 3.5 in my opinion. If I were to acquire Kakaku.com personally, I would definitely want to improve the current algorithm. The small amount of complimentary sake that used to come with the appetizer seems to have disappeared, but since I'm the only one in my family who drinks, it's not a big deal. The food was delicious as always, but it would be nice to have a couple more meat options or larger portions.

This restaurant is located a little south of JR Shin-Fukushima Station in Osaka. I had wanted to visit this restaurant for a while, and finally had the chance to go. It's also a restaurant that surprisingly even MyRebi has not been to. The name of the restaurant is "Salad." They have several local sake options and their specialty is dishes of seasonal vegetables grilled over charcoal. Of course, they also offer shochu and plum wine besides sake. I had made a reservation for Saturday night, but when I arrived at 6:00 pm, the restaurant was full and I was seated at the counter. It seems like the restaurant has become quite popular. Looking at the menu, they offer a variety of dishes from seasonal grilled vegetables to assorted sashimi. The concept of the restaurant seems to be offering delicious food better than izakaya but more affordable than kaiseki cuisine. The "Homemade Bacon and Spring Vegetable Potato Salad" had a rich flavor with a strong taste of potatoes. The spring vegetables added a nice touch to the salad. The "Firefly Squid with Vinegar Miso" was surprisingly delicious with tender squid and perfectly balanced vinegar miso. The "New Lotus Root" had a satisfying crunch, and the grilled lotus root had a delightful flavor. The only downside was that the colorful seasonal vegetable green salad we ordered first arrived towards the end of the meal. Despite that, it was worth visiting this restaurant. I would like to visit again in a different season if I have the chance.

First of all, I apologize. Here is another "extremely fun forbidden drinking party review" post: sweat On September 1, 2018, we had a drinking party with 8 people at a place called "菜米炭゛" which is read as "Salad". This is a restaurant opened by a popular izakaya's manager who decided to go independent. Since a Mybeview user I have met before highly praised this place, I wanted to bring my Osaka rider friends to visit. (I have been running a nationwide motorcycle group since the summer of 2013) We also had a surprise birthday party for one of the participants (whose birthday is on September 6), and it was a lot of fun. The surprise was a great success, and you can watch the video of the surprise here! (Limited release) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lLIClv3otw ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This is the 499th review for Medy. (Huh? I posted it but it's still at 498 reviews? What's going on?) The 500th review will be about a very surprising place we went to for the after-party. Although it has a rating of 3.36 on Tabelog (with 24 reviews as of September 2018), something surprising happened! (Most likely, even the people who posted reviews haven't experienced this, so it became a very special memory) Despite the 3.36 rating, the food is really delicious~♡ The hostess at the restaurant is friendly and funny~♪ It's a fitting place for the 500th review celebration. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Location] Originally from Kyoto, I moved to Tokyo after graduating high school. This was my first time visiting Fukushima Station in Osaka. Hmm, Osaka is quite confusing to navigate; sweat It may take a bit of time for those without local knowledge to find the place, as you have to walk down narrow and dark alleys quite deep. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Interior] There are counter seats at the entrance and table seats at the back. When we visited, the table seats were divided by some sort of partition, with groups of 8 and 4 sitting separately. There was a small TV monitor on the wall at the back, but I don't think anyone was watching it. There were some watercolor-like paintings displayed on the walls. It must be the manager's taste. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Reservation] You can only make reservations for up to 8 people through Tabelog, and for more than 8 people, you need to call separately. This time, the number of participants was not confirmed for a while, so we caused some inconvenience, but they handled it very well. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Course] Deluxe sashimi platter x Swordfish x Live mackerel x Wagyu Ichibo charcoal-grilled course Course price: 3,500 yen (tax included) Number of items: 10 items Course contents: - Scallop miso soup with vinegar citrus aroma → Seems like an arrangement? I don't remember having it. - Deluxe sashimi platter (skipjack tuna, amberjack, barracuda) - Grilled swordfish with miso sauce and fresh lotus root in sweet vinegar - Duck and Kamo eggplant with autumn mushroom kudzu sauce - Live mackerel sushi with scallion and vinegar miso → Probably an arrangement. Can't remember eating it. - Shrimp rice cracker tempura with green chili pepper and shishito pepper in seaweed salt - Three kinds of sake appetizer platter (ginkgo nuts, edamame, sake lees cream cheese) → Maybe an arrangement too? - Kagoshima Wagyu Ichibo and green onion charcoal-grilled → The green onions were arranged and tender, right? - Red snapper tea-pickled with Kyoto pickles - Matcha ice cream +1,500 yen All-you-can-drink (1 type of sake) +2,000 yen All-you-can-drink (5 types of sake) +2,500 yen All-you-can-drink (10 types of sake) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ [Thoughts on the course] I felt that it was slightly more subdued compared to what I saw on Tabelog reviews. I had the impression that the presentation would be more beautiful. It could be because the content is slightly adjusted depending on the season. The corn, for example, was not part of the course and it was not well-received among the participants. It was difficult to eat, and biting into it felt a bit off. I wish there was a bit more of the grilled swordfish with miso sauce and fresh lotus root...
