☆Wife and I went on a casual lunch trip! [Kyoto City, Kita Ward]‼️⇒ This time, seasonal specialties and hidden classics? Not really hidden, but my top recommendation. : Parking is available at a nearby coin parking lot. $ Orders! * "Sakura Mochi (Koshi-an)" 220 yen... 3.8: Enhanced saltiness with 2 pieces of salted cherry blossom leaves. The saltiness blends well with the sweet koshi-an, creating a delicious balance. * "Strawberry Daifuku" 324 yen... 4.0: Mixing condensed milk with white koshi-an enhances the strawberry's sourness, creating a good balance and delicious taste. The juicy strawberries dripping with juice are also great. * "Kurimochi Mikasa" 350 yen... 4.5: A generous portion of mochi with chestnuts in Mikasa style! The sweetness of the dorayaki skin and tsubuan is balanced by the abundance of mochi and chestnuts. Be careful not to overeat, as one piece will make you quite full. Closing "Summary": The real standout here is definitely the "Kurimochi Mikasa." It will receive praise and bring joy to anyone you gift it to. Please try it out. ♪ I am very grateful for your continued support with "likes," "saving the restaurant," and "following." Your comments and questions are greatly appreciated. ♪ Thank you all for your continued support.

Oboroya Mizuundo is famous for its fresh dorayaki. It is located about a 10-minute walk from Kamigamo Shrine. The fresh dorayaki comes in flavors such as red bean, matcha, pistachio, sweet potato, milk with raisins, and more. I purchased the matcha and milk with raisins flavors. The matcha flavor uses Uji matcha and has a refreshing sweetness. The milk with raisins has raisins scattered throughout, adding a nice accent.

At Oboro Hachizuiundo, the "Nama Dorayaki" is a must-try. Although it can be difficult to visit the restaurant, it is available for purchase at Kyoto Takashimaya B1 "Meigashi Hyakusen" on Sundays. Each person is limited to two pieces. This thick dorayaki with plenty of fresh cream has a satisfying volume and impact. It has a mild sweetness and a light taste, making it easy to finish in no time. The seasonal Nama Dorayaki on this day is "Momo" (460 yen). The harmony of peach-flavored fresh cream and sweet red bean paste is superb. I was completely satisfied with being able to enjoy the seasonal peaches.

At Oboro Hachizuiundo, the "Nama Do Ra Yaki" is a must-try. Though it's hard to visit the restaurant itself, you can purchase it at Kyoto Takashimaya B1 "Meigashi Hyakusen" on Sundays. I bought the Nama Do Ra Yaki Sakura (460 yen). It's a thick, fluffy do ra yaki filled generously with fresh cream, offering a satisfying volume and impact. With a mild sweetness and light flavor, it's easy to devour. The harmony between the sakura-flavored fresh cream and sweet red bean paste is outstanding, and the dough is delicious. The sakura flavor is prominent and very tasty.

Looking for fresh dorayaki at Oboroyamizuido in Kyoto's Kitaku district, my pick! Oboroyamizuido, opened in 2009, is a nostalgic Japanese sweets shop with a charming old house-like exterior. The shop is always bustling with many people, often forming lines even before opening! When I visited at 3 p.m. on a holiday, most items were already sold out. There is no seating available, only takeout. The nearest station is Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line Kitaoji Station, but it's a bit far, so I recommend using a car or bus. While there is no dedicated parking, there is a coin parking nearby. Due to its proximity to popular tourist spot Kamigamo Shrine, it's a nice place to visit while sightseeing. The signature "fresh dorayaki" is a voluminous dorayaki filled with plenty of cream, making it a popular sweet that sells out quickly. The cream-filled dorayaki is not overly sweet, with a fluffy mousse-like texture that is delightful to eat. The combination of the red bean paste on the dorayaki and the refreshing cream is excellent. I chose the seasonal limited edition "pumpkin," a masterpiece that pairs the natural sweetness of the ingredients with the red bean paste perfectly! The vibrant yellow color adds to the excitement. I also bought four other varieties as souvenirs. The "fresh dorayaki" is only available from October to May, excluding summer. They do not offer online sales, so you must buy directly from the shop. There are no reservations, so lining up at the shop is necessary. It's recommended to line up an hour before opening if you have a specific flavor in mind. The popular Japanese sweets at Oboroyamizuido are special delicacies that only those who visit the shop can enjoy. With many Japanese sweets available for takeout, enjoy them while savoring the Kyoto scenery! Shop Name: Oboroyamizuido Reservations: Available Access: Head north from the intersection of Omiya-dori and Gen'i-dori. Southeast corner of the first crossroads. 1 minute walk from City Bus "Shimotakedonomachi" bus stop. 1,315m from Kitaoji Station. Hours: 9:00-19:00 Closed on Tuesdays. #Oboroyamizuido#

I love the "Nama Dojaki" at Oboro Hachizuiundo. They are sold at the Meigashu Hyakusen in Kyoto Takashimaya B1 on Sundays February 5, 12, 19, and 26. I bought the Nama Dojaki (red bean paste) and Nama Dojaki (strawberry). They are thick dorayaki with plenty of fresh cream sandwiched in between, with a lightly sweet and refreshing taste that you can easily finish in one go. Both the strawberry and red bean flavors are distinct and delicious.

I've never seen such a dorayaki before. The dorayaki with plenty of volume was delicious. I went there before noon on a holiday, and there were no customers in the store and it didn't seem like they were out of stock. If you're worried, I recommend making a reservation. There are various flavors such as black sesame, matcha, pistachio, and red bean, so it was hard to choose! The thin pancake-like dough is filled with plenty of cream inside, making it so voluminous that it fills you up 100% with just one. Each cream flavor is rich and delicious, so you shouldn't go wrong no matter which type of dorayaki you choose! However, eating one alone may get a little boring, so sharing two different flavors with another person and splitting them in half might be more enjoyable!

I purchased it at the Imoyokan in Yokohama Sogo. The sweet potatoes are small and chopped, mixed with plenty of whipped cream. The amount of cream is incredible, but it's not too sweet or heavy, and the balance with the sweet red bean paste is just right. It was big and there was a lot of whipped cream, so I was worried if I could finish it, but all worries were unnecessary (≧∇≦) It was delicious (*^^*)

I have always wanted to visit this shop. Outside the shop, there were traditional Japanese sweets displayed, but I couldn't find the dorayaki I was looking for... When I asked the staff, they said, "They are in the refrigerator inside." When I looked in the refrigerator, there were various kinds of dorayaki! Strawberry, red bean, pistachio, chocolate... I couldn't decide. After some thought, I chose the red bean dorayaki, thinking, "This is a traditional Japanese sweet shop, so the red bean should be delicious!" I took a big bite. The red bean cream was not too sweet. The thickness of the skin didn't overpower the cream. The generous portion was pure bliss. As you eat, the shape of the dorayaki starts to crumble, making it difficult to eat neatly, but it was very delicious and satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

At Oboro Hachizuiundo: The "Nama Dorayaki" is more flavorful when written in kanji than "Kyoto Gourmet Travel Dorayaki." It's worth extending your journey from Kinkaku-ji to try this fresh dorayaki. Even more than the trendy Marron Totsu boom, I had been keeping an eye on this shop for a while and was overwhelmed to finally visit! Strawberries were sold out before 3:00 PM. The matcha cream was generously filled, slightly firmer than expected. There was also red bean paste inside (sorry for the messy cross-section). Satisfyingly substantial. The interior has a traditional Japanese confectionery shop vibe, which was great! There wasn't a designated space for dining in, but there were benches right outside the shop, so I sampled it there. The cat inside the shop was cute.

I couldn't visit the restaurant to try the "Nama Dojaki" at Oboro Hachizuiundo, but I was able to buy it at Takashimaya Kyoto Store. It seems to be sold on Sundays only (up to 2 per person) in the corner of the underground famous confectionery selection. I was lucky to visit on a Sunday. They had red bean, matcha, and peanut flavors available. The thick "Nama Dojaki" with plenty of fresh cream (370 yen) is full of volume, but the sweetness is mild and easy to eat. Both the matcha and red bean flavors are distinct and delicious.

Located a 20-25 minute walk from Kitaoji Station is the traditional Japanese confectionery shop Oboro Yamizuindo. This shop is famous for its dorayaki, which is filled with a thick sweet bean paste. In addition to dorayaki, they offer a wide variety of other traditional Japanese sweets. The pricing is relatively reasonable, making it a great option for when you're craving something sweet or looking to buy souvenirs from Kyoto. On this visit, I purchased the popular menu item called Kurimochi Mikasa. This sweet consists of mochi, chestnut, and sweet bean paste sandwiched inside a dorayaki, offering a surprisingly generous portion. The combination of the chestnut's texture and sweetness, the rich sweetness of the bean paste, and the chewy texture of the mochi made for a highly satisfying dessert! While it's a bit of a walk from the station, if you have the chance to stroll around the area, I highly recommend paying a visit. Thank you for the meal!

Picked up a pre-booked assortment of fresh dorayaki from Oboro Yamizukudo near the venue. This time's flavors included matcha, red bean, strawberry, pistachio, maple coffee, and sweet potato. The dorayaki had a thick appearance! The whipped cream had a light texture, and each flavor was subtle and gentle. My grandmother gave it to me. Very delicious ◎ This was the first time I tried this kind of dorayaki. The cream had a strong matcha flavor and paired well with the red bean. The dough was light and fluffy, overall delicious. I want to try different flavors. I want to eat it again!

(Taken from a blog post) Today, I went to the area of Kamigamo in Kyoto's Kita-ku. I happened to stop by a popular Japanese confectionery shop. Oboro Yuzuiundo is a shop known for its thick "nama dorayaki" that resembles a hamburger. Next to the shop's curtain, there was a sign saying "still available," indicating that the nama dorayaki was not sold out yet. Photography was prohibited inside the shop. They also had items like Mizumanju and warabi mochi on display. The classic flavors of nama dorayaki were matcha, red bean, and black sesame, but unfortunately, they were all sold out. Therefore, I purchased a flavor other than the classics. The nama dorayaki, generously filled with cream, seemed to require refrigeration. They provided an ice pack for takeaway. I decided to enjoy it on the long bench outside the shop. The Nama Dorayaki (strawberry) costs 346 yen (tax included) for one piece, just the right size to fit in the palm of your hand. It features a cream made of strawberries, thicker than the dough (^-^), which felt light and not overly sweet surprisingly. There was also a layer of red bean paste beneath the strawberry cream. It was pleasantly cool, making it a delightful treat for this still warm season!!

I was finally able to come and buy at Zuindo, where the trend has died down a bit! The long lines and sold-out items have eased considerably now. I found the black sesame flavor a bit overpowering, so I didn't rate it highly. The pistachio flavor, on the other hand, is delicious! It leans towards the Western side, with a clear umami taste. A nice dish! I'll peek in again and hopefully get the classic matcha flavor someday!

A couple visited Kyoto. They bought a round, plump dorayaki at Kyoto Takashimaya. [Summary] Seasonal dorayaki [Pistachio] for 443 yen, about 60mm in diameter and 50mm in height, a three-dimensional dorayaki. The soft-textured skin is about 10mm thick. The filling is a whopping 30mm, with 10mm being chunky red bean paste and the rest pistachio cream, almost like a mousse. The intention here must be to dislocate your jaw. Despite its airy creaminess, it's surprisingly easy to devour due to its lightness. The chunky red bean paste is sweet but leaves a refreshing aftertaste. The combination of pistachio and red bean is a double dose of sweetness. Best consumed on the same day.

When I went to buy dorayaki, I ended up buying various other items as well. I got fresh dorayaki, matcha, peach, red bean, strawberry, and maple coffee-flavored oboro warabi mochi. The fresh dorayaki was good, but maybe once is enough. Matcha and red bean were good, more like snacks for kids. Peach and strawberry were just okay. However, the oboro was delicious! Definitely worth a repeat. The warabi mochi also ranked high in taste among Kyoto's offerings.
