I love "Tokkyu Hossa" so much that I have periodic "special attack" moments (lol) where I just can't get enough. I was surprised that I hadn't written a review before. I've only been there for dinner once, but I mostly go for lunch, and the cost performance for lunch is really amazing!! My usual order is the "Kalbi Lunch with 1.5 times the meat" and a side of "Tetchan". Occasionally, I'll add some liver or crunchy bits as well. With this order, it's quite a generous portion, but I finish it all in no time (sometimes I regret not getting extra rice). The Kalbi is unbelievably good for the price, with just the right amount of fat and a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The Tetchan is also juicy and delicious. The sauce is light and not overwhelming, but as a garlic lover, I ignore my friend's protests and load up on garlic and a bit of gochujang (which makes the rice disappear). The miso paste that comes with the lettuce wraps is also delicious. The seaweed soup and namul help balance out the meal. The size of the meat can vary from day to day, so I always ask for scissors to cut it into bite-sized pieces before grilling (it makes the rice disappear even faster). Despite being very affordable, the service is excellent, they even change the grill grate for you, and you get a warm tea after the meal. When I went for dinner once, I tried a variety of meats and they were all great. My friend is obsessed with the "Iitoko Chicken (Dori/Seseri?)" set, and always orders the beef tongue on the side, exclaiming "Wow, so good!" after each bite. I've been to quite a few barbecue restaurants, from high-end to budget, but in terms of taste, portion, price, atmosphere, and service, this place is hands down the best. High-end barbecue is undoubtedly delicious at first, but can be too fatty and cause heartburn. This place is just right. Definitely give it a try (I'm not a plant, lol).
