I visited Mita-ya Honeten Yasuragi no Sato for the first time in a while. It's a bit confusing, but there are two types of shops, "Shoku wa Geijutsu Hirooka Kihachiro no Mita-ya" and "Mita-ya Honeten Yasuragi no Sato". Well, they are both run by brothers. I used to frequent Kihachiro's Mita-ya, but due to the recession, all the stores in Osaka have closed, and they only operate in Hyogo prefecture, such as Kobe and Nishinomiya. His homemade craft beer was so delicious, and I always had to drink it whenever I went there... It's a shame. Well, for that reason, I came to Mita-ya Honeten Yasuragi no Sato, which is still operating in Osaka. The menu is like this. Kihachiro's Mita-ya used to serve Mita beef (only the high-priced ones), but here it just says "black wagyu". I wonder where this meat is from...? The dishes here are made of Mita Seiji porcelain, a type of pottery that originated from China, and it seems that the owner, Hirooka Shouji, himself baked them. Kihachiro's Mita-ya also used Seiji porcelain, but when I last visited, they used normal dishes. Even though they had so many displayed in the store... The specialty here is the homemade ham. It is also sold in department stores, but Kihachiro also makes ham, so I'm not sure which one is more famous. And the dressing on top of the onions is also homemade and is also sold here. At Kihachiro's Mita-ya, you can only order it once, but at Yasuragi no Sato, you can order it twice. The ham is delicious, but the onions were not soaked enough in water, so the spiciness of the onions hit my tongue. This didn't happen when I ate at Kihachiro's Mita-ya... And Kihachiro uses onions from Awaji Island, but it is not specified here. A common thing at Mita-ya is that the meat is placed on a hot iron plate with onions, potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables, and you cook it to your desired level of doneness. Once the meat is cooked to your liking, place it on top of the vegetables. Otherwise, it will burn... The meat at Mita-ya is still delicious, the service from the staff is good, the prices are relatively reasonable, so if you haven't been, why not give it a try...?
