I've been wanting to go to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant for a while, and finally visited Kappa Sushi after living in Matsubara for two and a half years. The sushi was delicious, especially the battleship sushi with egg yolk sauce for ¥110. However, I ended up spending about 1500 yen and still didn't feel completely full, so the cost performance wasn't great. Also, it's surprising how the sushi plates don't actually rotate around these days.

This is a sushi restaurant with a white signboard as a landmark. The building has a parking lot on the first floor and seating for customers on the second floor. It is a large restaurant that can accommodate around 180 people. When you enter the restaurant, you input your party size and seating preference (counter or table) into a touch panel reception machine. A seat assignment ticket similar to a receipt will be printed, and you can sit at the designated seat. The system aims to minimize the number of staff members. Contrary to expectations of a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, there is no sushi rotating around. Only ordered items are delivered to the table. Orders are placed using the touch panel provided at each seat. As for the food, they offer freshly squeezed lemon sour with a lemon for you to squeeze yourself to adjust the lemon juice level. I had squid (with shiso leaves), salmon, salted lemon squid, crunchy and tasty oil-marinated seafood tataki gunkan, minced crunchy and tasty oil-marinated shellfish gunkan, shiso leaf tempura whitebait gunkan. The rice seems to taste better than the previous Kappa Sushi, but the sushi pieces are noticeably smaller. Thank you for the meal. Additionally, the cash register is unmanned. You scan the barcode at an ATM-like machine for payment. I only saw the staff twice - when they brought the lemon sour and when they came to clear the plates after the meal. They seem to operate with minimal staff due to automation. There was a rental conveyor belt next to the register, so you can enjoy conveyor belt sushi at home. (It is possible that the sushi that has already rotated in the restaurant cannot be eaten.) The total bill for the food and drink I had was 1,089 yen.

Recently, Kappa Sushi Matsubara branch has been through a lot of negative events, but it's been a while since I last visited Kappa Sushi. It's been at least three years since I last came here before the pandemic. According to an acquaintance, Kappa Sushi is no longer considered a "kaiten-zushi" (conveyor belt sushi) because the sushi isn't being served on a conveyor belt anymore. In the past, Kappa Sushi used to have larger sushi pieces with a rough taste, but now the pieces are smaller and the taste has improved. However, the rice feels loose, like it's set by a robot.

I visited the "Kappa Sushi Matsubara branch," which was a rare occasion for me as I usually only get takeout from this place. This time, I went with a childhood friend on 11/5, which was quite a while ago. We ordered the Autumn Shellfish Platter, which was delicious and included oysters, salmon roe, scallops, and more. We also had squid and shrimp, as well as other dishes like whelk and octopus. I tried the oyster steamed rice bowl, which was tasty. And for some reason, we were served melon soda and ginger ale. We ended the meal with a parfait, chocolate cake, and cream cake. The restaurant seemed to be promoting a change in their sushi rice, which I found to be slightly sweeter than before. Overall, it was a nice visit to Kappa Sushi after a long time.

I visited Kappa Sushi Matsubara store in Osaka. Due to the current situation, I decided to have an early lunch to avoid crowds and contact as much as possible. The restaurant is spacious, bright, and clean. You order every 4 plates using a touch panel, which can be a bit of a hassle. The conveyor belt only had ordered items, which felt a bit empty. I enjoyed the standard sushi like salmon and yellowtail. I realized they didn't have covers for the dishes. Oh, I almost forgot to order kappa maki (laughs). It was a typical kappa maki, but it was good to have it after a long time. There was also ramen on the menu, but I didn't have time to try it. Thank you for the meal.

After leaving Hamazushi, the next stop was this restaurant. On the way, I found a really short traffic light. Maybe it's a seasonal thing, but they didn't have "yellowtail" here, so they used "fresh amberjack" instead. The tuna was 75mm and 60mm, the fresh amberjack was 85mm and 70mm, and the rice was 50mm and 20mm. The tuna seemed watery, maybe because the defrosting wasn't done well. The fresh shrimp was firm and delicious. Overall, it was tasty. Thank you for the meal. Note: Measurements are approximate. I measure the length of the ingredients, not the thickness.

Unprecedented! Under the title of "Unprecedented!", I am aware that Kappa Sushi held a one-day-only half-price sushi campaign for all plates. I know that the store opens at 11 am on weekdays, but at 10 am on weekends and holidays, so surprisingly, if you go right after opening, there is no line and it's quite relaxed! I didn't know that everyone loves half-price so much! The line was crazy long! About 50 to 60 people were waiting in line, extending from the second floor where the store is located, all the way down to the first floor parking lot. Representatives were queuing up, and it was definitely more than that. By the time the store opened, there were twice as many people in line, and when I reached the end of the line, I couldn't even reach the ticket machine on the counter. However, I managed to get ticket number 143 from the machine. The store staff started announcing the groups to enter around 10 am using a microphone. It took about 25 minutes to reach my turn for the first round. I barely made it in time! I was finally allowed into the store. You can only order at the touch panel, and it takes about 10 to 20 minutes for the sushi to arrive. It was a satisfying experience for me. The sushi at Kappa Sushi tasted delicious, and considering the price, it was quite good. However, the slow service was the main issue. I spent an hour eating slowly and was somewhat satisfied and content. It was a good meal. I won't be attending a similar event next time. Additional notes: Missing the first round of entry is the worst. You are constantly being made to wait. Waiting for about an hour is normal. Despite that, the line outside the store had significantly decreased, with many people waiting in their cars.

I've been eating all day and my stomach hasn't really felt hungry. But if I keep this up, I'll probably get hungry around midnight, so I had a light dinner here. However, once I started eating, I realized I could eat more than I thought. In the end, I think I ate about 10 plates. (laughs) It's only in the realm of conveyor belt sushi, but I feel like the salad battleship at Kappa Sushi is the best. The others are good too, but that's the impression I'm starting to get.

On the rare day off on the last Sunday of 2019, my family went on a day trip to a hot spring tour and I was left at home alone. Suddenly finding myself with a day off, I decided to have lunch by myself. I knew that everywhere would be crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but I thought that if I was alone, I might be able to get a seat at the counter quickly. I entered this restaurant and, as expected, it was very crowded. However, I was seated promptly. I ordered dishes such as clam miso soup, a plate of 3 pieces of sushi, a slightly luxurious dish, and some classic dishes, totaling 12 plates, and I finished them all.

I ate a lot of limited-time dishes that weren't 100 yen♪ - Steamed Setouchi oysters with garlic butter torching for 180 yen - It was delicious and moist with a taste of butter. - Grilled salted natural blackthroat seaperch for 280 yen - Autumn shellfish feast for 280 yen I also had some classics♪ - Tuna sashimi roll for 100 yen - Natto roll for 100 yen - I forgot to take a picture (>_<) The natto was quite strong in smell and taste. I also tried some side dishes♪ - Ramen supervised by Musashikai from Kichijoji for 390 yen - Steamed tea bowl with conger eel and matsutake mushrooms for 280 yen - It was quite luxurious with a nice texture and a good taste of matsutake (*^▽^*) I indulged a bit~ (≧▽≦) It was delicious♪

I visited Kappa Sushi for the first time in about 10 years. It seems that Kura Sushi, Sushiro, and Hama Sushi were quite crowded, but I think the power of television also played a role. Kappa Sushi used to be at the top of the conveyor belt sushi industry, but now it's ranked 3rd or 4th. There is a TV show that is very popular in Nagano Prefecture called "Salad Battleship." I tried it for the first time and it was delicious. I ended up eating three plates of Salad Battleship. The sushi toppings also seem to have become more delicious. The most delicious one was the salt-grilled red shrimp. It was quite tasty. It's worth noting that it was grilled right before serving. The Ikura in the luxurious battleship assortment also seemed better than what I've had at other conveyor belt sushi restaurants. Kappa Sushi seems to be struggling in Kansai, but if they continue to improve and become even more delicious, us consumers would be very happy.

Yesterday we went to Hamazushi, and today we went to Kappazushi (lol). It's within walking distance so I dragged my daughter along (lol). We arrived around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was about 40% full (-_-;). The interior was spacious, bright with white tones, and clean, but because it was so empty, it felt a bit eerie. We weren't very hungry, so we ordered our usual items. The only things that tasted good were the chicken white broth ramen and the potato fries. In the end, we both agreed that Hamazushi is better (lol). Thanks for the meal m(__)m.

I arrived before 7 pm and it was a good thing I had made a reservation online. When I arrived, I overheard a conversation about a two-hour wait for walk-ins. Thanks to my reservation, I was seated in less than 30 minutes. The salmon from Sanriku was delicious, but the other dishes were just average. I ordered a tuna avocado roll that ended up tasting more like a California roll due to the strong onion flavor, masking the avocado and tuna. The eel was not as tender as expected, and overall, I was disappointed with the quality of the sushi.

In January, almost all of the local restaurants in Matsubara are closed for the New Year holidays, except for some chain restaurants. However, I was grateful that Kappa Sushi was open and operating smoothly with security guards on duty. I visited in the early afternoon on January 2nd and had no trouble finding a seat at the counter. I chose sushi items that were priced at 108 yen each, such as white fish roe, squid, tuna, mackerel, salmon, and avocado. I also tried comparing two types of squid, which differed in texture and taste. The touch panel ordering system was convenient, and my sushi was delivered quickly by the Shinkansen train. It had been a while since I last visited Kappa Sushi, and I was satisfied with the experience. The sushi was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When my husband and I went shopping in Matsubara on a Saturday in April, we decided to stop by for lunch. We had not been there in a while and we had a coupon for 200 yen off from a flyer, so it was a good opportunity to visit! The restaurant had a wide variety of sushi, including creative options, and the spacious interior with many table seats could accommodate families as well as solo diners. There were so many different types of sushi passing by on the conveyor belt that we ended up with a table full of plates (laughs). Whether it was frozen fish or sushi rice made by the sushi machine, as long as it was reasonably tasty and filling, and affordable, it was all good! This is the perfect place to eat without any worries and enjoy to your heart's content.

I found a nostalgic revolving sushi restaurant in Kansai and decided to visit right away. Usually, it's common to visit during busy hours at a revolving sushi restaurant, but this time I went around 3 PM. I wasn't expecting much in terms of sushi quality since it was close to idol time, but I was happy to see that it was an order-based system. The sushi was freshly made and delivered by a "Doctor Yellow" train, which was exciting. The sushi plates started at 100 yen each, making it quite affordable. While the quality was typical for a revolving sushi restaurant, I felt that the rice portion was larger compared to other places. I was a bit surprised by the number of plates I could eat. They had some unique sushi options, but I personally prefer the standard ones like tuna, yellowtail, and squid. One thing that bothered me was the placement of the order screen at the top, which was not aesthetically pleasing and made it uncomfortable to look up. Despite that, there were many families enjoying their time there, creating a lively atmosphere where people were having fun together rather than just focusing on the food.
